I woke up abruptly with sweat on my forehead as I ran into the bathroom to empty my bowels. While doing that, I sensed movement behind me and something brushed my back. I shot up instantly but no-one was there.

I sighed, turning around to flush the toilet bowl. My nightmares were repeating itself and they were getting worse. I was always waking up in the middle of the night in cold sweat to empty my dinner in the toilet bowl, leaving a bitter taste behind. It was like my dreams were haunted, which of course they were and they always made me so weak and frail

I got back into the room and I realized that Rebecca wasn't on the bed, I frowned as  I got out of the room quietly and tiptoed down the stairs, avoiding all the parts of the stairs that creaked.

I felt a bit cold as I saw  Grandad's favorite chair in the living room and what was worse was the fact that Rebecca was sitting on it, her eyes closed, and she mumbling, I couldn't quite make out what she was saying but it seemed really obvious that she was talking to someone. Except that I didn't see the someone.

I held unto the necklace my mum gave me, something I do whenever I'm either scared or nervous. But this time, it was both. At this action, Rebecca's head snapped towards me as she stood up and walked towards me facing me.

"Did I scare you? ” She asked.

"You wish” I replied sternly. She definitely did.

“Why're you up by 4:30am in the morning? ” She asked tilting her head to the side and looking at me creepily.

Does being creepy run in the family?

“I could ask you the same ” I replied as she walked past me. I would have gone back to bed but I'm avoiding both my nightmares and Rebecca.

“I wish I could tell you that she was the bravest person you'd ever meet” I heard her say behind me and I turned around. Of course, Eva was so brave!

“I thought you already went upstairs” I rolled my eyes and sighed. I was so tired of this family.

“I mean I understand if you weren't as great as she was. But killing her? Oh come on Luna, you went too far” Rebecca said.

"There are approximately 1,013,013 words in English language but I could never string any of them together to explain how much I want to hit you with a chair” I retorted and she let out a dry and humorless laugh.

So you're also going to take me out like you did to Eva? ” She asked smirking which showed that she knew what she was doing.

“for the umpteenth time Bec, I swear I didn't do it” I said tearing up, as much as I didn't want to. One thing I hated was crying in front of someone, it made me seem so weak and I like to think I'm not.

"If you didn't do it, who did? ” She asked

"It--w-was--y--your m--m--mum” I stuttered amidst hot tears as I ran back up the stairs to the bathroom and shut the door behind me.

“Luna, starbucks after school. No objections” Lily said to me before walking off. I must look really pathetic. I was going to class before I remembered what I have this morning. Great! Calculus, again!!

"Miss black, I'm confused.... I'm afraid I don't quite understand you. I can't give you false hope but your grades are getting lower.... ” My calculus teacher was saying when I cut him off as I frowned at him

What was he saying? I usually tried as much as possible to let nothing affect my grades

"False hope? ” I repeated “I have achieved high marks in calculus tests-----”

“I am terribly sorry to have to contradict you” He continued cutting me off “but as you will see, you have been achieving very poor results in your classes with me-----”

“I should have made my meaning plainer” I said cutting in, I looked at Mr filch directly in the eyes before continuing “I have achieved high marks in all calculus tests set by a competent teacher.” I ended.

3-2-1

"Miss black, detention!” he exclaimed with a deathly glare, looking red from embarrassment after some students sniggered.

You deserved it, bitch!

Detention was horrible! We weren't allowed to do assignments, copy notes or do anything. You just sit there, doing absolutely nothing. This was the most horrible, unproductive, boring and wasted one and a half hour of my entire life

Well I couldn't just stay for an hour and half doing nothing, so I put my time to good use.

I slept!

And there were no nightmares this time. Wait, nightmares are for the night, it's in the word. No wonder I didn't have one

"Where the hell have you been?” Lilly attacked me once I was in front of the school building.

"Detention” I replied as I continued walking

Wait... Hope she didn't wait for me for an hour and a half

“I'd been texting and calling you for an hour and a half now, what the hell Luna? ” She said standing in front of me so I couldn't walk any further.

"De-ten-tion” I said again, more like breaking it down for her to understand.

What did she expect? They also took our phones. Yes! It was that bad, that was why I slept.

“How? Why?” She asked.

“I was trying to tell Mr filch how good I was in calculus” I said.

"Something tells me there's more to it than telling Mr filch how good you are in calculus” She said smirking as she put air quotes on telling

“I only said I achieved high marks in calculus tests set by a competent teacher after he said I'd been having low marks in calculus tests” I said shrugging.

“Okay... First of all, ouch! ” She said suppressing a laugh.

“But I was only being truthful, they say it hurts ” I said as she linked our arms and we continued walking

"Just so you know, we're still going to starbucks" She said and I rolled my eyes

As if I already didn't know

Lily and I both went to the counter to get what we wanted and I rolled my eyes as I saw the cute guy behind the counter that had been hitting on me for a while now. He was cute but I don't know why, I didn't just like him and no matter how many times I'd made sure it was so obvious, it didn't repel the young lad away.

"Hey" He said with a wink while my face remained stoic

"I want burger" Lily said

"Babe, I lost my name, mind giving me yours? " He asked and I wanted so badly to slap his face

"So you lost your name and you want to answer hers?" Lily asked with a very funny confused expression on her face and the lad looked a little bit frustrated

"I meant, what's your name?" He asked and Lily muttered an 'Oooh'

“I'm Katniss” Lily said.

“I'm four” I said and the lad looked at me quizzically as he gave us our orders

“Are you sure? You look older” he said studying me and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes

“Four is my name” I simply said.

“Isn't four a number?” Lily asked turning to look at me.

“Isn't Katniss a plant?” I asked returning the look she was giving me.

And we both walked away with our orders, leaving a very confused lad behind.
