Grand Plan
I'm afraid of getting old,
Of my life being lonely and cold,
I'm used to living the race of the young,
My days are busy and long,
Bouncing from place to place,
Experiencing care-free adventure at rapid pace.
I'm scared of being stuck in a chair,
Losing my marbles, not being all there,
Unable to bask in youth's sun,
Be happy, healthy, and fun,
Hopefully I'll make my mark,
Slip away peacefully, none of this Dementia lark,
But in case I don't, my grand plan,
Is to make the most of life while I can.
