Okay, I love this book!

The dystopian situation is a classic. The ultra strict government bans almost literally everything, causing unhappiness among citizens, who are forced to comply with force.

There is only one chapter, so I'll try giving suggestions instead of criticism.

Tell us how the citizens manage to get food to stay alive. For a family of two adults (husband and wife), a ration of 2500 calories a day is barely enough. Throw in a teenager or two and the family is doomed in several years.

What if they have a baby with all its nutritional needs? The regime can't simply let them all starve. A dictator can only be a dictator with people under him. Killing off citizens does not achieve that.

I don't understand how the street vendors exist. What are they selling? If people are so impoverished that they can barely survive, what manner of goods can they trade?

I expect prostitution and families selling children to be extremely rampant.

More importantly, what kind of currency do people use to buy? Do they barter? Considering the extreme lack of food, this seems unlikely.

I think it can be solved by having an agrarian economy. People can grow their own food, so they don't have to rely on government rations. Although, this will make the dystopian atmosphere less visible.

I'm not very sure about people being loyal. People are starving, and when people starve, ask Louis XVI what happened. Yep, he got guillotined. The Liberali Bond can't possibly be the only rebel group out there.

There must be tons and heaps of rebellions with different goals. I think you can develop the story this way.
