CHAPTER 12. REBOUND
GRAHAM'S POV
Aurora led Eric and I through the castle as if she were looking for something that wasn't there.
While walking aimlessly through the halls, we bumped into scared Tiana, who hurriedly ran to me. Before we could talk, we heard a loud noise from where we came from, it was obvious the dark king broke free.
It hurt knowing there was nothing we could do to stop him. We got to the end of the hall, Aurora stop infront of a wall and turned to us.
"So, if I remember correctly, this should take us back to amaggadon". We all froze and stared in doubt at what she said. "How do you think I got here so fast", she said raising her brow and her voice.
She turned to the wall and slowly walked towards it, until she walked through it. She did tell me to expect anything when magic is involved. I nudged Tiana to go with Eric, when they were all gone, I hesitated.
I looked back, flashes of Jesse's face and in Brandon's went through my head. 'She cant be gone'. I immediately blinked to protect my self from negative thoughts. "I'm going to get you..., if it's the last thing do." I went through the wall after my thoughts.
"What took you so long", Tiana said looking worried, they all looked worried. "Guys I'm fine, I just needed a second". I expected to get lectured on the dangers of what I did, instead Tiana hugged me, Aurora joined in and Eric patted my shoulder." We're going to find her", Aurora whispered in my ear. I know they missed her too, we were all like family. We were optimistic both had no idea what to do or where to go next, the thought of it was frustrating.
The whole manor was put in panic when we gave the news, but they still showed concern, Eric and Aurora apparently left for a shower while Tiana was served with whatever dish she wanted.
I left to the training room alone, the room was empty and the silence was deafening. I made my way to the punch bag, I stared at it for a while. My dad told me once that when he was scared or angry and there was nothing he could do, he'd pour out his anger and emotion on a punch bag.
Tears began to form in my eyes, before it dropped, I punched the punchbag really hard, and I did again and again and again, recollecting what I've just lost until all I felt was anger. The hits got harder after every round, I let out a scream when I punch It the last time before leaning on it.
I backed away slowly when I feel something poking my chest, it was my mother's necklace with the key. Turns out I might not be entirely out of ideas.
I got Tiana and took her to Aurora. "Heyy umm", I said stressing both words. "I need to go find something out, can you please look after Tiana?, I'll be back before you". I didn't want to make her feel like a babysitter but I didn't also want to leave Tiana unguarded again. "Hey Tee, I need to go find out something okay?, you'll be fine", I said squatting to her height with my hands on her shoulders. She nodded in response.
"Can we at least know where you're going", Aurora asked. "I'm going home".
"Amaggadon was inhabited by humans and warlocks, but the humans were kept away from getting mixed up with all the magic shit we go through. Probably because they wouldn't be capable of handling it, even with all their technical advancement, magic was too much to comprehend.
It was a long walk all the way to my house, but I got here and I need to find what my mom's key unlocks. The key was odd, different from all the Locks we had. I searched every place I could think of to find the key hole. I searched my room, Tiana's room and parent's.
There was one last place look, my fathers library. I slowly walked into the dust filled library, it was obvious no one had been in there or this while.
My dad loved reading and so he spent a lot of his time in here. He even started to write his own stories, and he'd keep me up at night to read his stories to me till I fell asleep. I searched round the and I still didn't find a suitable lock. I groaned in frustration. "I really wish I could see you dad", I whispered to my self with my head low. I was about to leave when a book caught my attention. 'Hope cannot be lost' was written on its hard cover, that was what my mother told me she she gave me the key.
I tried pulling the book but it was a little stiff, I pulled harder and it came out but didn't leave the shelf. But i started hearing crackling sounds from the floor. Seconds later a hidden door was opened, a staircase led down the passage.
I slowly went down the the stair, the was a light switch so I put it on. The place looked old and dusty, apparently no one's been in here for a while. The passage led to room, wasn't so large, and not so small either. It was like an archive, with different artifacts and books in the cabinets on the walls. There was a little at the centre of the room with a note on it. The note instructed to drink the substance at the other end of the table. It was a little closed container. I took it to my nose while opening it to sniff but its content aired up into my nose like rising dust.
"Damn it", it smelt horrible, no way I was drinking that. I started feeling drowsy, my head started spinning. Before I got a hold of my self, I blacked out.
I got up not long after, just not where I was before. It was bright, super bright. There was basically nothing but light here. I stood up anxiously, there was a figure of a more right a ahead of me.
"Hello?, who are you?.. An.. And where the hell is this?". I stammered at my last question, the next thing I blurted out was definitely not my doing. "Is this heaven?". But that would mean I'm dead.
"This isn't heaven, but it can be any where u want it to be. And you know very well who I am."
His voice wasn't clear but it sounded too familiar. The closer he came, I started making out his face. "Dad?"...
AURORA'S POV
Tiana is a sweet little girl, I've not laughed this much before with anybody for a while now. "If math books could talk, I'm pretty sure they'd be talking about all the problems they have". Just when I thought she was done cracked both of us up again. "why do you hate math so much", I asked her. "Because they never solve their own problem", we both laughed again until she didn't.
"What's wrong", I asked her, hoping it was another joke. "That", she said pointing behind me. The skies were getting darker. "Tiana we need to....." I stopped when I saw Tiana looking lifeless. "Tiana!, Tiana wake up!" I said shaking her up. I startled as she gasped and got up immediately. "Its Graham". "What about Graham", I asked her. "I'm not sure, but I can't feel him", she said looking worried, I think she just had a vision. "C'mon let's got", I said giving her my hand.
We both left to the meeting room where we found Eric pacing our way. "Where's Graham", he asked. "I don't know but we need to find him". "He did say he was going home", Tiana reminded us. "Great, let's go check him out.
GRAHAM'S POV
"I don't understand.. How are u here?, how am I seeing you?", I didn't know what better question ask, though I had alot.
"This is an astral plane, took a long time to make it". He pulled me into a tight hug before continuing. "I've missed u son, our time here is limited so tell me your here because every thing is okay", he asked sincerely. "I wish I could say every thing is okay", I felt panic rush though me. "I messed every thing up, he has mom, he has Jesse and he.. he.. ", my voice began to break. "Graham, it ok", he sounded like he had so much faith in me. "You dont understand, he has the sword alongside all of them". Okay, I should've kept that to my self. "If he has the sword, then you're gonna have to make another one".
"You're kidding right, you're not bothered?", I asked, a bit lost. "Brandon's retrieval of the sword was inevitable, the worst is yet to come", he said looking like he was thinking. "You don't have much time left here, You're going to need Tiana's visions, find out how I made the sword, remake it", it got more complicated to get him. "I don't think I can do any of what you're saying".
"Son, you're stronger than I ever was, you can do anything, I still believe in you", his voice was beginning to fade, along his body. Tears rolled down my face, "no no no!!, I can't loss you again, I still have questions".
"You never lost me, and you never will". He's voice echoed in my head, until I lowly heard Aurora and Tiana screaming for me to wake up.
"Thanks heavens you're awake", Aurora blurted out, was she even religious?.. "You need to see something". They said taking up the stairs to the window
"Oh.. My.. ", it was noon but the sky was flooded with dark clouds, and the dark king's armies was charging at amaggadon, with no restraints...
