Portion One: Dream

❝Dream❞
Okay, you're gonna be reading about my amazing life, how I almost died (which happened on several occasions, by the way), about this magical place called Eldion, and this old geezer who was behind all this mess.
And you're probably thinking this is all fiction, written by some girl who has nothing better to do in her life.
*Cough* Y-Yeah, sure.
Haven't you ever wondered of the phenomenon of 2012?
That's right.
The day of the so-called Apocalypse. Everyone was freaking out over it. But then, when the day came, it just passed by like any normal day.
I know it started when I was just a child, about seven years old.
I had this weird dream, that until today, my mind still couldn't shake off.
My name is Jaxx. I am a sixteen year old girl and I am about to tell you the story of how it all began.

Four years ago, when I was just twelve years old.
It was night time. My mother was about to tuck me in my bed.
She kissed me on my forehead. "Good night, dear."
"Mommy," I said with a hint of fear in my voice. I squeezed tight my cat stuff toy that she had sewn me (Yes, I was twelve and still slept with stuffed animals. Problem?) "I'm scared of the dark. Can you sleep with me?"
Mom smiled. "Without the dark, we'd not see the beautiful stars." She held my little finger and pointed it towards my window, which showed a view of the night sky. For a moment, I thought I saw her eyes sparkle, which I haven't seen since dad die. She ruffled my hair. "I'm afraid I can't sleep with you, I have to do a few things for my work tomorrow."
"But..."
"You'll be alright," She said. "You're a big girl now, and a strong one, for all I know. I'll leave the hall light on and I'll be downstairs if you need me."
"O-okay..." I said. I didn't want her to go, but I could also see how tired she was, and I didn't want to make it worse. "Good night."
I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, immediately fell into a deep sleep.
A sleep where a disturbing dream crept in my mind.
In my dream, I opened my eyes and found myself standing in the midst of a solid white field with flowers in bloom, all in pastel colors.
I took a step forward and stopped, shocked at how real it felt. I looked around, looking for anyone or anything but I could only see an endless field of flowers through pure light.
Then a voice spoke. "Welcome, young chosen one."
I flinched and spun so quickly, I fell to my knees. Despite this, I still kept my head shot up and scanned my area around warily. "W-who is that?"
"Fear me not, child," the voice said again, booming and echoing. It sounded like an old man's voice. "I only need to speak with you briefly about something very crucial."
"Why? W-who are you?"
I felt a warm breeze tickle my neck slightly. "My identity is not to be stressed about. Jaxx, we have a limited time to speak, and you are not the only one I am speaking to right now. So listen carefully."
I'm not the... only one? What did he mean by that?
I felt light in the head because of everything that's been happening but I managed a nod. "Okay."
The man took a deep yet tranquil breath. "Four years from now in your time, you will be taken from your world, along with the other chosen ones. You will be brought together through art. The, you will step foot in the world of Eldion. You will have to find the other chosen ones, and altogether you will stop the chaos that will be brought upon the universe."
'Brought together through art'?
I blinked several times, taking in all of the information given to me. A moment of silence passed before I could choke out my words. "W-why? Why me? Is this real? Am I dreaming? T-this must be a dream." I let out a small laugh, though I was pretty much shaken up at that point.
The man let out a soft chuckle, and at the same time, the wind slightly blew in my face. "I know this is all too much to take in all at once. However, I really need your help. We really need your help."
I had so many questions going on in my mind, I couldn't choose which one to ask. Just then, the field started scattering in pixels, shocking me. "W-What's happening?"
"Time is up," the old man said. His voice seemed to be fainting in the distance. "Re.. member my words, and... remember all this. We will... be waiting.. for you, chosen one..."
Before my nerves could even send a signal to my brain to make me physically move, the whole field shattered like glass and I started falling into a deep black pit, screaming.
