Search for the Skull

As Grace got to the hotel, she got her luggage and went to her bedroom so she could unload what she brought with her while she was staying in Mexico so she could help her mom with her excavation of the crystal skull.

"Hey, mom, do you by any chance think that we'll get to it first before someone else does and uses it for their own purposes?" Grace asked. "If so, I want to help you and Martin find it first before some freak show finds it." Mrs. Connor nodded and looked at her.

"I hope so," Mrs. Connor said. "But we should be careful. Anything can happen, you know." Grace has to admit that it wasn't going to be easy, but it was worth a shot.

"I'm willing to take the risk if there's a chance that we could find out more about the Mayan culture," Grace replied. "And archeology is in my blood, so I'm pretty sure that I can manage against a bunch of power-hungry maniacs mom." Mrs. Connor smiled but was still uncertain about what could happen, though she didn't say anything.

"It might take a while for us to find it Grace," Mrs. Connor said. "We're not exactly close to the Aztec temple where it was located." Grace nodded but was still sure that they could find it first.

Since there was a chance that they might have to leave the next day to look for the crystal skull, Grace and her mom decided to chill and hang out with the other archeologists and see what they knew about it.

As they went to where the other archeologists were, they all sat and talked about the skull and what they knew about it and some theories that they had about the skull.

Grace decided to eat some food and drink while she was there since she was wondering what kind of powers the skull had and figured it would be dangerous if the skull fell into the wrong hands.

By the time lunch was over, Grace and her mom headed back to the hotel to get some rest until they heard  knock on the door.

"It could be the cleaners mom, but just in  case it isn't, don't bring up the skull." Grace said.  "I'm pretty sure that they are going to look for it as well." Grace knew that in the archeological business, anyone could be suspicious and knew that if there was a chance that they could be dangerous it was best to keep your guard up.

As expected, it was the cleaner. Grace got up and left with mom so that the cleaner could clean up their room.

"I'm starting to think that maybe we should check out now and maybe look for another hotel and stay there while we look for the skull," Mrs. Connor said. "I think that we're supposed to check out today but I can check for you." Grace looked at her and smiled.

"That's okay, mom," Grace said. "I can check it myself. You can come if you want." Mrs. Connor smiled back and looked at her.

As Grace went to the front desk, Grace asked the question about checking out and then got back to where her mom was and told her that they might have to leave, and they got their bags and met up with Martin  so that they could get to the next hotel and stay there while they were looking for the crystal skull.

As they got to the next hotel, they went to their rooms and unpacked their bags and decided to have some dinner since they were pretty hungry but also curious about the skull since they haven't found it yet.

"I wonder if there's some people in the hotel where we're staying that know anything about the crystal skull. Grace said.  "I think that they might be able to help us locate it and maybe we can send it to a museum, but they might have to have it on very high security since anything could happen, if you know what I mean." Mrs. Connor and Max nodded in agreement to what Grace said.

After dinner, they decided to ask one of the people of the hotel if they had heard of the crystal skull and the person at the front desk said they had but was not sure if it was a good idea to go searching for the skull in case someone suspicious might try to get information out of them.

"Do you know where the skull could be by any chance?" Grace asked. "It could be helpful information for us if we encounter something that could lead us closer. We might put it in the museum but recommend that it should be put under very high security." The front office person shook their head and Grace thanked them for their time, then went to her room and crashed for the night.
