backstory
Phoenix doesn't remember much about his childhood. Except training. The little colorless room he lived in when he wasn't punching or learning how to wield a sword. The bland, protein filled meals he was forced to eat and the screams of gang enemies down the hall. He was taught to read and do math from Juan, the only person he truly interacted with as a child.
He'd later learn, at sixteen, that he had put in that damned warehouse when he was a young child. His father had been in the gang and ended up owing a monstrous amount of money to them. Phoenix was never told exactly what happened then but Juan was clear enough- both his parents had been eliminated and he was given away to be whatever the men wanted. And apparently they wanted someone to do their dirty work. His name was changed and he was turned into a long term investment. He started his job when he was fourteen and he never forgot how hot that man's blood had felt on his skin. He didn't remember many of the other hits however, the faces blurring in his memory and the kills blending together in a nasty sea of red. He earned more trust the older he got however and found himself at bars a lot of nights. At first it was just to drink his sorrows away but he quickly found he liked flirting with men as well and found himself wasting his days doing just that. Jobs on other nights parties on the rest. But by god does he hate it.

He goes out drinking sometimes and tries to get laid. But he doesn't get to choose his own things very often. Sometimes he reads at home. But mostly he trains.

admittedly the boy is a little more awkward than the average young man. It's not entirely his fault, but that doesn't change the fact that he has no idea what slang is and usually finds himself staring at the person he's in a conversation with quizzically. He's straight to the point, intense and a little scary without even realizing it. Usually he tries to understand whoever he's talking to by looking them right in the eye without blinking. Which doesn't work all that well.
Somehow he still manages to get one night stands however, probably due to his thin fit form and confidence. He certainly is confident. He never grew up with the shame of speaking his mind so he's insanely blunt and honest pretty much all of the time. When it comes to humor he's of course clueless. But, when he finds someone who's witty or funny he finds himself unable to stop laughing no matter what. He really appreciates people who are actually good with conversation and clings to those people without even thinking. He can be affectionate, in his own way, attempting to do things that he's seen in the very few movies he's seen. Though again he can be very intense. Ultimately though, if he likes you, you'll know it and you probably won't totally hate it...
