Chapter- 92 (S̷̲͗ṯ̶̇̅ringVerse)
Karma finds out one of the many problems that come with having a broken SOUL and receives a rather valuable gift.

S̷̲͗ṯ̶̇̅ringVerse
Grillby was standing behind the bar but was keeping a watch on baby spark, who was sitting in the corner. He had cornered it off from the rest of the room and along with his magic suffusing the room, it sent a clear enough message to keep others away. It also helped that he had dusted a rabbit monster a few days ago, who had pushed him too far. He was not a weak monster, so his protection over the baby spark was cemented by this act.
While Grillby was babysitting, almost daily at this point, he never had to use the spare room he had upstairs. Error had said it was not needed as a monster called 'Night' would take over in the evenings. Grillby had no clue who this was but was pleased his friend had found another being he could rely on.
He was very amused at the many outfits Karma was dressed in, easily being able to tell they were made from Errors magic, marking a second claim on the child. Only an idiot would now target the child and he had removed those years ago. If he was to be stuck in the Underground he was making it as tolerable as he could.
Grillby paused in his cleaning and looked up as Karma stared at the wall in deep fascination.
"B͑͋͝à͛͋b̈́͝y͐́͘ s̽̔p̒͝͝a̚̕r͝͠k͑̾̕?͛̿̔ Ä́͋̽r̈́͆͝e̾͛́ y̓̒̕o̓̈́u̐̈́ o̿̾͒k̾͒?̐͋̈́"
"♪ The angel has come to save us all. The angel will empty the Underground. All praise the angel~ ♪"
"K̽͌͝a̓̽͠r̓͋͠m̒̽͌a̐̕͠?͛̈́̀"
He watched in worry as they continued playing, as if nothing unusual had occurred at all. He would make sure to tell Error about this, just in case something was wrong.
The hours passed and he was alarmed to hear word of a human currently in the Underground. He still remembered the danger their kind could present to them and looked over at Karma in worry. His flames stilled at spotting the corner empty, before his flames roared with his anger.
Who had dared to touch someone under his protection?
-
Karma was happily humming as he wandered outside, even if he was a tad wobbly. He hadn't really explored this AU but with the human arriving he was very curious. It was always fascinating feeling how a powerful SOUL could affect their environment. It was one of the reasons magical training was vital for monsters, as otherwise things got truly chaotic.
He was also hoping he would be able to see someone clearly, as it was getting annoying seeing only shadowy outlines of others.
He had passed by a few monsters as he headed for the human SOUL but they all seemed to be quick to run away from him. He was bewildered why but it did mean he didn't need to bother to hide. With the way his magic was acting lately it wasn't the best idea to rely on his invisibility to hide.
His wings shifted when he heard the crunching of snow and he grinned at finding the human so quickly.
-
"Frisk, be careful. This area is dangerous. I'm not sure why it's so quiet today but i bets its a trap"
"I will, Flowey. There is no need to be so tense"
"Of course there is! I'm shocked we survived the last monsters at all"
Frisk stopped speaking and looked around their surroundings in fear. They felt something was watching them but all they could see were trees and snow around them. Frisk knew without their strange power they would have died early on but they were DETERMINED to befriend all the monsters!..even if some of them could be rather terrifying.
They were so glad Flowey was with them but the unsettling feeling was only growing inside them. They tried to ignore it but with each step they took they could feel their breath speeding up. They clutched onto Flowey's pot, with their stick held tightly in their other hand.
A sound behind them made them jump in fear and they lashed out with their stick on reflex. They stood still and shivered, before looking down in horror at the pile of dust. Frisk felt sick from what they had accidently done but the sound of crunching snow put them back on guard.
When a short figure stepped out from behind the trees they felt relief but that soon fled as the stranger got closer. Their dark wings contrasted greatly with the snow, painting a sinsinter image but it was their magic that had the largest effect on them. Frisk felt they were drowning in the new beings presence and going by Floweys quite pleas to run away, they agreed.
This monster felt different to all they had met so far, making Frisk take a step back in terror. Even Flowey was shaking and trying to hide their face from whoever this was. Their instincts screamed at them to not provoke this being and to just run, but Frisk felt glued in place, their body refusing to obey them.
They felt they finally understood what their teachers meant, when talking about holy creatures that were indescribable and you were unsure if you feared them or loved them. The divine being monster came closer and Frisk whimpered, almost feeling like their sins were being laid out in front of them.
It was when Frisk spotted a scythe appear that they slammed their hand on the RESET button. They were not dealing with this and would happily spend the rest of their life back with Toriel instead. Anything was better than meeting them again.
-
Karma pouted as he felt the human SOUL vanish. Looking around he was puzzled how they had disappeared so quickly but with his lacking eyesight he was growing resigned to this experience. He was so glad he could sense SOULS still.
Sighing in annoyance he used his scythe to release the recently dusted monsters SOUL and un summoned his weapon. This was the easiest way to sort out this small issue as his weapon was the most reliable magic he had at the moment and it temporarily stopped his role from screaming at him to fix things .
Karma managed to take a single step before he found himself back in Grillby's bar, sitting in his corner again. He closed his sockets and tried to parse out what happened to drag him back here. Focusing on his role was of no help and he chirped in annoyance. He lit up when he realised a RESET had occurred. He was usually unaffected by those so what had caused thi-...it was probably his stupid SOUL being the issue again.
Resigned to his lowered powers he went back to playing with the puppets Error had made for him. He was thrilled at all the blankets he was given to make a small nest, as it made his stay here pass in comfort and it was a perfect place to nap.
He was so glad Grillby was here as well, as he had grown tired of having to hiss at strangers to stay away from him. It was a tad alarming how well it worked, considering he did not think of himself as a scary looking monster.
He picked up the puppet that looked like Error and examined each section. It was well made but he was always fascinated by the multiple threads tied around the puppets wrist. He was curious what it meant.
" Time to go, Karma "
Karma jumped but readily put the item down and walked over to Error.
Ḁ̷͈͛n̶̜̻̳̑̎̕t̶͓̋̽ȉ̴̭͎͉V̵̧̮̫͝o̶̲̱̓̈́̕ǐ̴̭̬͜d̸̡̘̆̌̐
It was a surprise that they went to the AntiVoid but Error had only said he had a gift for him and handed him a white rectangular box. He was unsure why he was given this as Error had already given him a lot. He had more clothes then he knew what to do with, not to mention the growing collection of puppets he was starting to have.
Karma was impressed they were able to make everything so quickly, while also doing their role. He rarely spent a long time with Error but between Moon and Grillby his days were pretty much full.
" Go on. Open it "
He carefully did so and tried to make out what the item was. Thankfully Error helped him and took it out, before placing the item on his skull. He drew back in shock before freezing at seeing Error clearly for once. Bringing a hand up he realised it was a pair of glasses.
"How-"
" It's not hard to tell you were struggling, Karma. Your eyesight should return back to normal but in the meantime these should help "
"Thank you"
Aww. You look so cute with them on, babybones~
HMM. I GUESS THREAD ISN'T TOTALLY USELESS
Did you just compliment, Thread?..Are you dying? Is it finally my birthday?!
Can you quite down? It's hard to hear what they are saying with your whining
Ooo. Did you hear that? I think someone's coming
Karma could see Error twitching in annoyance and he chuckled before stumbling, feeling as if a large weight had been taken off. He looked at Error in question but grew alarmed when blue strings suddenly surrounded Error and threw them away from him. He grew tense at the unexpected attack but chittered happily when he saw who it was.
" Did you miss me, Godling? "
"Nova!"
" I'm sorry it took so long for me to visit "
"That's ok. Are you playing a game like Sol is?"
" You could say that. I should be done soon, so we can go anywhere you like "
Karma smiled and was soon fussed over by Nova, who started to question him on everything he had done here. He was a tad confused why they ignored Error and made so many disparaging comments, when he mentioned their creations. He could tell Error was quite powerful but when he went to speak up he spotted Error putting a finger on his mouth to keep quiet.
Karma was happy to comply as he really liked this Destroyer. They gave him lots of treats and were very open about what he was doing and who he was staying with everyday. It was such a rarity that Karma couldn't help but feel affection for this Error. He was drawn back to the present when Nova hugged him before whispering they had to go.
He had little time to react before they were gone and he was left blankly staring where they had been. He was sure they would have stayed longer...did he do something wrong again?
" Karma?...do you want to knit again? "
He fiddled with his scarf and looked away from the spot where Nova abandoned him again left.
"S-Sure"
He chirped when a gloved hand wiped something from his face and he was surprised he was crying. Why was he surprised? This always seemed to happen. Even his bonds felt like they meant nothing. Maybe it would be better if he-.
" Do you w-want to get some c-chocolate? "
He was unsure where this came from but he never said no to chocolate, so readily accepted Error's gloved hand and walked towards the portal. He did however look up at the 'ceiling' in confusion at how loud the voices were being.
Wow. That was a shocker. You are going to be in so much trouble~
I KNEW IT! WE AREN'T BEING HARSH ENOUGH
T-That was unexpected..
She is going to be so angry!
..what were they on about? He was tempted to ask Error but he just wanted to enjoy the trip and not worry about anything. He didn't want to think anymore. His bonds seemed to taunt him with how alone he felt .
S̷̲͗ṯ̶̇̅ringVerse
Karma shivered when they stepped out of Error's portal. The AU they were in looked calm and he saw that no one reacted to Error presence apart from a mere glance. However, that is not what attracted his attention, it was the way his SOUL felt calm in this place as if nothing could touch him here.
" This is one of the few safe AU's and neither sides touches it "
Karma hummed in acknowledgment and swivelled around to take it all in. He was always shocked when Error easily guessed what he was thinking and readily answered his questions. He had stopped trying with Grillby or Moon, as they always seemed to look at him with an unreadable gaze before swiftly changing the subject.
His wings vibrated in glee at spotting the many sweet shops but the buzzing noise coming from Error made him deflate. Turning towards them he saw them rub their chest and glare into the sky.
" Ugh. Not again. Does that idiot really have nothing better to do? "
"...are you dropping me off with Grillby again?"
He had been looking forward to chocolate but he knew Error's job was more important than this. It was a nice gesture and just seeing the AU was fine everyone was the same. Perhaps a nap would lift his mood up? why did he have to wake up? WHY IS HIS ROLE STILL SHOUTi-
" Nope. Give me your hand "
Karma was intrigued and readily did so and was soon wearing a band of Errors magic on his right wrist, with some money also being placed in his palm.
"If you are unwell I will be alerted but you can break it to catch my attention. Do you still have Moon's number? Good. Call them when you are done and they will come and get you. Hopefully i won't be long"
Karma grinned as they left and excitedly headed towards the shops. It was surprisingly empty and he was thrilled to be able to take all the time he wanted to choose what he wanted. Maybe he would explore the AU after? He was in no rush after all.
