Chapter 61- (X-Bitty Multiverse)

X takes his new charge to see some Bitties. The Creator soon makes another appearance

——-

X-Bitty Multiverse

X learned to enjoy living full time in the white again. It helped that he now had a house to escape to, when it got too much but it also had an unexpected benefit. It managed to keep Ink away, as he only visited one more time before they seemingly learned their lesson.

While X was a tad sad that someone he had thought of as a friend lied to him, however he was too busy caring for Karma to truly stew in his thoughts. X was growing a tad restless but was unsure how long he had been in this new place.

5 Days 23 Hours 22 Minutes

Learning that only made him more eager to get out of here. He tried to think if anything stood out, in all the information he gained, when a pop up appeared.

Event: Bitty Playtime at AU1980

....that was useful. X wondered if he could turn it off? He liked having thoughts to himself without them being invaded by the Devil's witchcraft. He didn't care if he was told they were a monster, X was suspicious of all they had done to him, to not be doubtful of their origin.

He might as well go to this 'event' then. One of his objectives was to make sure Karma was near Bitties and it would allow him to be near nature again. He called Karma to go outside and opened a portal to the correct coordinates.

As soon as he stepped through he tensed at seeing all the monsters and humans near them. He clutched Karma close to him and tried to control his instincts.

STRANGERS/KILL/DESTROY/ELIMINATE/PROTECT GODLING/DUST THEM ALL

At the edge of his vision he could see his magic blazing out of his sockets and managed to stop himself from summoning his weapons. Thankfully the feeling soon stopped and he slumped against a nearby tree, trying to control the shakiness that had overcome him. Maybe going out wasn't such a good idea...

"Can I go explore, X?"

X felt himself soften at the request and easily allowed them to go, despite his reservations. He made sure to keep a close eye on them and had reluctantly accepted he had grown attached. He had not experienced being near a non-hostile being in many years and living with Karma was like a dream. It was no wonder he was protective of them, even if they merely started off as an assignment.

Karma locked on to the area he had sensed the most Bitties and sprinted away from X. He had been astounded when he had heard about these beings, as he had never seen one before. They were smaller compared to regular monsters, so he didn't fear that they would hurt him and all the ones he had met so far had been nice.

He was also less worried about touching them compared to monsters, as Nova assured him they would survive his touch. He was suspicious of the claim until Oneiro chimed up, confirming that it was true. He decided to trust their word and so far it seemed they were right.

"Are you looking for a new friend, little one?"

Karma had to tilt his skull far back to see the face of the dog monster. He thought on the words and shook his head. He was slightly dejected that he didn't really have any friends, as he moved around too much for that. He had thought child Fesh could have been one but he left too soon to find out if they wanted to be.

It didn't seem fair to try and make any, even though he was a tad lonely. He ignored the look on the monster's face and instead headed for a different section of the park. There were so many different Bitties here but he perked up when he saw cat-like ones. He held onto the fence, keeping them separated from the public, entranced as a tiny ball was pushed around by a cat Grillby Bitty. Their tiny ears stood up as they spotted him and he chirped in glee, at the tiny purr he could hear.

"Over here, Karma. I think you will love these ones"

Intrigued he walked over to X and he saw a pen full of winged Bitties. When he was let in, to be closer to them, he was surrounded by chirps and fluttering of wings. He swiftly cupped his hands to catch one, that had been about to fall and cooed at their colourful wings. They rubbed their face into his hands and he sat on the ground, keeping his gaze on the tiny monster.

X kept guard of the entrance to the Bitties and glared at anyone who came near. Karma looked relaxed and he could feel his new instincts acting up, whenever others looked at them. The Fresh Bitty in their hands looked to be in nirvana, at the gentle strokes it was receiving.

He snorted at the looks of jealousy on the other Bitties and how they had started to flock closer to Karma.

"Karma, do you know they like their wings being touched? Why don't you have a go"

He could see their want clash with nervousness on their face but this was easily solved when the Bitty extended their wings in agreement. He wished he had a camera to capture the moment, as their eyelight had switched to a star when they touched the colourful feathers.

He had considered grooming Karma but was unsure if that was pushing the boundaries of what he was allowed to do. Yes/NO/Always/Sometimes/PERMISSION NEEDED . He got too many conflicting instructions and decided to just ask Karma later.

"Your child is very well behaved. I have seen adults more heavy handed with Bitties, compared to them"

X had clenched his hand tightly to his side when he heard the voice, in order to hold in his churning magic. It helped that when he looked at the goat monster Toriel/Volunteer/Friendly he received nothing negative about them.

He grunted in acknowledgement, when he realised he had been silent for too long.

"You know. We do have weekly events and i would be more than happy to allow your child to come, when it's quieter"

X thought this was extremely generous but felt there had to be a catch. No one was this kind but maybe he was being cynical. He gave a questioning look and Toriel looked heartbroken, when she next spoke.

"I admire how their SOUL shines at being near the Bitties. That sort of joy should be allowed to flourish when found"

X could agree with that and mentally planned what else he could use to fill the time between visits. At least the Devil couldn't complain he wasn't doing his job right.

Karma had visited this park five times and was just as excited to go the sixth. X kept asking if he wanted to adopt a Bitty but he denied it each time, firm on his decision to not grow attached. He still enjoyed playing with them though.

Somehow, X had made sure they came when there was no one else there. It made it even better and they stayed for hours each time. He shot off as soon as X opened the portal and was looking forward to seeing the new Bitties.

Unfortunately due to his excitement he missed the portal that had formed on the ground and was therefore surprised when an arm grabbed his leg, pulling him through.

He squeaked when he ended up in someone's arms, disorientated after the surprise trip.

"Ink, are you sure this was a good idea? They look fine to me"

"Of course it was, Dream! The Sans from that AU is insane and in no condition to care for a child. I have no idea how he escaped but we need to stop him"

His eye light focused on Ink, who was holding him, unsure what they were talking about.

"SO CUTE!"

A hand on his wing made him tense and he faltered at seeing a Blue Sans. He let them play with his wings, as he was too weak to deny a Blue right now. The pain of his loss was still too fresh in his mind.

Karma wasn't worried about this surprise kidnapping, as this was starting to become the norm in his life. He also remembered Nova telling him that X would have a way to find him, no matter where he went. While some would find this chilling he found it comforting, as now he didn't need to worry about getting lost. He had wanted to know how exactly they could track him but Nova was very evasive and distracted him by mentioning Bitties. Such a cheater.

"I don't know Ink. Where will they stay?"

"I'll take them to the Doodle Sphere, as it's the most secure. They will love it!"

Karma was curious if this looked different to the ones he had been to before, especially due to how there was no balance here. It let his senses relax, as nothing required his attention.

"See you later, guys"

He really should be paying more attention to what they were saying, as he suddenly ended up in a brightly coloured living room.

"Now what to do with you?"

Ink seemed much less lively then before and their sockets were now white eyelights. Looking at their chest he saw that the vials were still full, so what was going on?

"Books?"

"Hmmm, don't really bother keeping those around. How about the tv instead?"

He chirped in agreement and was sat in front of a large screen and given the remote. He played around with it, keeping an eye on Inks movements. Not much happened the rest of the day and Karma kept quiet, at his want for magical feeding. There was something weird about this Ink but he couldn't tell what.

Days passed in this manner with him passing out on the couch and awakening to continue watching tv. He had explored the house already and it was rather boring for a Creator.

When he had tried to exit by the front door he had received a shock to his hand and let out a startled yelp, not keen to try that again. He rarely saw Ink and no one else came to visit, so boredom was setting in.

He was confused why he wasn't allowed outside but Ink had promised him a surprise if he was good. Another week passed like this until one day Ink teleported into the house, scaring him at his sudden appearance.

"Karma~. Come see what i got"

He threw down the remote and spotted Ink in the kitchen, holding a small cardboard box. He could feel SOULS from it so was unsurprised that when Ink opened it, three Bitties were sitting at the bottom. Was Ink feeling lonely?

They looked like the Star Sans but were all huddled together in the corner, keeping an eye on Ink. He guessed being in a new place was scary, especially if you were tiny.

"They can keep you company now while I'm busy with work.....well, see you later"

He watched as Ink jumped into an ink portal, unsurprised he didn't stay long. He thought that might have been the longest he had seen Ink in days. Shuffling made him focus back on the Bitties and he carefully moved the box onto the floor, letting them explore the house.

It was fun following them and seeing all the things they found interesting. They didn't speak to him much the first day but he made sure to push out his magic to let them absorb it, without being near him. They looked much more lively after that but still went to hide at night.

Karma let them be and continued his self imposed routine, glad he had some excitement in his day now.
