Chapter 51- (Oneiros Path Part 4)
Oneiro (SwapDream) is getting closer and is annoyed at all these stupid monsters
——
Shattered Dream Multiverse
Oneiro felt like it had been hours, listening to the now uncorrupted weeping Dream but he sadly knew better. The weird Nightmare kept pestering him for answers and why he was here. Oneiro just stared at them, thankful when they eventually gave up.
All these trips were exhausting and he was annoyed that no one could give him the answers he wanted.
He was rather surprised that after absorbing the corrupted apple, it caused the burning that enveloped his body dull. Perhaps he should visit more of these corrupted Dreams and see if it would decrease the pain even more. He knew the way his SOUL burned worried his little raven, so anything to help was a bonus~.
A hand on his shoulder made him twitch but he held back on his more violent impulses. Glancing at the arm he saw it was NIghtmare, who looked worried for some reason. What a boring goody two shoes~.
Stepping away he moved closer to the Dream, still on the ground and kicked them. Oneiro smiled when their cries abruptly cut off and he relished in the silence that enveloped the clearing.
"Not that this isn't a heart warming reunion and all but i need my questions answered, Dream~"
"WHO ARE YOU?!"
"Side characters don't need to know, little Blue~"
He flared his aura at all the noise, satisfied when it finally shut the others up.
"This is between Dream and me. Now let's try this one last time, while I'm feeling nice. Where is MY KID, DREAM?!"
He easily swatted away the emotional magic that was trying to calm him down. These idiots let their guard down too much after his accidental 'help'. He just needed Dream to be coherent, not in one piece.
He eyed their limbs in contemplation and it reminded him of visiting the Ink with the odd Blueberror. He didn't think it would take much to break Dream's arm with his weight, as his variant was rather small without the corruption.
"I-i s-sent them to a m-multiverse with his s-similar magical signature. I-i think their was another c-child from R-reaper there?"
He listened intently, amused how empathy could be such a double edged sword. The Ink and Blue look confused why Dream suddenly spoke but the twins knew. He wasn't hiding his sadistic desire when looking at Dream, so his thought process was rather easy to follow.
"Thank you! So very kind. For your sake i hope we never meet again~"
He doubted he would find any more from here but what he gained was still valuable. He still had the urge to dust them all for losing his kid but the misery that the twins were feeling was just as delightful. He didn't care what their history was but it seemed his arrival had only stirred the pot.
He created a portal and ended in the space between multiverses. He never particularly enjoyed it here but it was a useful way to travel. Having a better idea of what he was looking for, he searched for places where there were more children between Reaper and Geno.
Taking out the feathers he noticed they looked equally attracted to these multiple multiverses making him groan in frustration. He was feeling drained already.
Raven Multiverse
This was the last multiverse on his list and this better be it. He looked around and sensed how balanced this place was...how boring~.
He would have loved to liven things up but the feathers in his hand twitched, making him follow the direction instead. He spent days in this odd multiverse and somehow managed to avoid detection. Just what was going on for them not to sense his magic?
He was tempted to leave and count this as a dud but his instincts insisted he stay. Luckily he happened to meet a Dream variant, who would hopefully be useful in his search. They looked rather tired and he sensed agony from them, when they looked at him. He was sure he hadn't been here before but maybe they had heard about him?
"Hello, my name is Dream. Are you perhaps a multiverse traveller?"
"Why yes I am! I am a tad bit lost so would appreciate any help you could give. I go by the name Oneiro when i travel~"
Playing nice, especially with Dreams, was always amusing. The way they felt drawn to him, due to his SOUL, made them slowly let their guard down. He listened to their chatter and was a bit bewildered that they had a process for new travellers. Apparently they had received quite a few in the last decade, so had started actively planning for it.
"There will be a meeting tomorrow which I can bring you to. That is if you want? The main balancers will be there and should be able to help"
"Thank you, Dream. You are very helpful~"
The yellow blush was just delightful making him wonder how easy to fluster would the rest of the lot be. He would have preferred to have the meeting today as now he had to think how to waste the rest of the day. He needn't have worried as little Dream was more than willing to house him for the night.
He eagerly accepted but inwardly chuckled at how trusting this little lamb was. Didn't they realise they had invited the big bad wolf into their home? He followed in silence, keeping his magic mild and non threatening. The room he was shown was lower quality than he was used to but he assured the other it was perfect for the night.
When Dream left the room he sat on the bed, getting into a comfortable position. While he couldn't sleep he was able to mediate and even play around in the dreamscape. Multiversal travelling was having so many benefits to him~.
This would also avoid the others suspicion, as he could sense they were still standing outside the door, using their magic to poke him. If he wasn't so sensitive to magic he was sure he would have thought all was well. Perhaps they were a wolf in sheep's clothing afterall~.
He slowed his breathing and drifted into the realm, most guardians never realised they could access. How the simpletons didn't connect that their names could equate to what occurs during sleep was a mystery. He himself had the perfect excuse of being insane most of the time!
The darkness he needed up in was comforting and he started walking, curious what dreams he could slip into. He was curious what this Nightmare looked like and if they were even cuter than his beloved~.
What was unusual about the darkness was how it suddenly glitched but he spotted no visible changes when it went back to normal. He was about to search for a victim to play with, when he suddenly felt emotions in this space. He grinned at a potential new toy being close and stood still, waiting for them to find him.
His smile almost fell when he saw his child before him.
He was unsure what to do, hoping this was real and not him getting more insane. He watched Karma's mouth move but sadly heard nothing. Just how far away were they?
He would need to test it with some 'volunteers'. He was sure Inky would appreciate a visit from him in their dreams. The poor dear must miss him already, after his generous gift he left for them.
Focusing on his child he noticed their loneliness and sadness had increased since he last saw them. They were also rather shy and reserved when they spotted him. It seems he will have plenty of monsters to dust in the future.
His little ravens arm lifted and his body moved before his mind, clutching them tightly to him.
He pulsed his magic and purred at confirming that this was his child, even if not here physically. Wetness started soaking his clothes but he didn't care. Moving their face towards him he slowly mouthed words of comfort, hoping they understood.
He smiled at their joy and lay down on a mattress, happy that in dreams he could create anything he wished. The weight of his child on his chest calmed him and after surrounding them with his wings, he finally felt himself relax.
"I've missed you so much, little raven. I sorted out your magical donor for you, so you never have to fear them. I even got revenge on Inky. I will make sure all those who hurt you never forget what they have done"
Oneiro babbled on, knowing the other couldn't hear him but enjoyed the chance to unwind. When he felt them start to fade he wanted to cry at how short a period they were together. He waited until they fully left before 'waking up' in his body.
He spread out his wings, purring at the stretch, as he always felt stiff after being in the dreamscape. He should teach this trick to his brother so they could talk more. He was sure they were missing him by now~.
Knocking on the door and Dreams' voice, alerted him he had been in his mind much longer than he thought. He should practise to make it more time efficient. It was a good thing he was pretty much immortal.
Walking out the bedroom door he politely declined breakfast, wishing to get this over with. He was newly motivated after seeing his little crow and he could hardly contain his excitement. He tapped his fingers against the kitchen table, waiting for Dream to finish getting ready.
As soon as Dream came into the room they opened a portal and he jumped through, ending up in a place with a lot of Sans alternatives.
Was this the Council of Sans, he had heard so much about? He had never bothered to barge into one before but at all chaotic the emotions he felt, he was sure he would visit more. There was also a layer of sadness that blanketed it all and Oneiro was bewildered by what could have happened here.
He easily spotted some black wings, smirking at seeing Karma's variant. This Goth was much taller but as soon as the other noticed his gaze they shrunk back and their fear rose. They were nowhere near as cute as his little raven~.
"Dream, who is this?"
"It's the traveller I told you about yesterday, Ink. Look at your scarf"
A forgetful Ink was rather common but this seemed rather extreme. He also observed how the more 'negative' vials of paint, on Inks vest, looked lower then he was used to. Why would Ink voluntarily take those and in such an amount?
"Oh yes! 'Oneiro is a new traveller Dream found'. I have written it down. How can we help, Oneiro?"
Such acting skills almost made him want to applause. Soulless monsters were so interesting to witness, with how differently they decided to interact with the world.
"I'm looking for my child. A friend accidently sent them away before I could get them, as they were worried for their safety. They look like a mini Goth but have white tips on their wings. They are also super adorable~"
He was ecstatic when Pale had given him some feathers that had fallen off from grooming Karma. He was glad his new potential ally treated them like the treasure it was. He himself had made sure to keep all the feathers Karma shed, when in his home, always keeping them in his inventory.
"You are talking about Karma! You look like the picture they drew"
His head snapped towards the Goth, with his smile growing sharper. What a useful birdy he found.
"Please, tell me more~"
He could feel their embarrassment at talking in front of others, so gave a helpful little boost with his magic to embolden them. He was amused at the scolding look Dream graced him with, as if he truly cared what they thought.
"They stayed with us for weeks but then lived with Ink and Dream. I last saw them at Ravens birthday party but i am unsure where they went..."
This was very useful and it led him to his next target. His eye lights narrowed in on the two parents, feeling their guilt grow as the story continued.
He blanked his expression and stared at the two, basking in how the tension was increasing, as the silence persisted. It shouldn't take long now before-
"I killed them! I didn't mean to. I am so sorry"
His magic burst out of him, stilling the monsters in his surroundings. He sensed no lies but he knew a way to check for sure. Taking his phone out he called Pale, glad he had insisted on this.
"What"
"Is the bond still in place?"
There was no time for cheerful chatter when such a...statement had been made.
"Yep....Do you need me to kill someone?"
"Not yet, dear. Have fun~"
Ending the call he let out a breath of relief. It was always nice to have others on the same wavelength as him. He pulled back some of his magic, when he felt some monsters on the verge of dusting. No need to go to those extremes just yet.
"Try again, Mr Black Bird~"
"W-what are you?.... I thought you were a Dream type!"
He tilted his head to the Creator, realising he had never introduced himself.
"Oh, I am so rude. While I am a Dream in my Multiverse, I am also the Destroyer of worlds. In simpler terms i have the same role as your Error, even if i have more fun doing it~"
Oneiro always made sure to break it down into little bits so no one got confused. He doesn't want idiots to miss out on fearing him. Just as he planned the terror increased and he smirked at also sensing amusement.
He looked up, seeing Error through a portal, just watching the proceedings. He usually got on so well with his more insane Destroyers, as they often allowed him to do whatever he wished in their multiverses.
" Reaper pushed little birdy into the Void. That was after cutting them with his scythe "
He wished others could be so helpful. Teleporting to Reaper he ignored their flinch and gripped their shoulders.
"Give me the weapon or I'm dusting your kids"
The threat worked beautifully and he took the weapon, ignoring how the smugness from Reaper turned into disappointment then fear. He wasn't weak enough to be killed by this flimsy thing.
He swung it, barely missing hitting anyone and supposed it could be capable of hurting his child, if death magic flowed through it. He would need to get better at healing due to all the situations his child got into.
Karma was going to give him white wings at this rate. Breaking the weapon that dared touch his child, he contained his magic and skipped closer to Errors portal.
"How do you fancy teaching me Code, Mr Glitchy?~"
He pumped his wings and flew closer to the other, his smirk increasing at the glitches on the other multiplying.
"I am sure i can make it worth your time~"
Oneiros' wings shone brighter and his expression grew unhinged. There was only one right answer and he didn't accept alternatives.
