Chapter 31- (Oneiros Path Part 3)

Oneiro keeps getting closer but always just out of reach

——-

Blueberror Multivere

Having Inks magic was a useful addition but Oneiros real prize was the feathers and magic he had obtained from Reaper, before his tragic disappearance. Having two of the biological donors was making this process much quicker. When he stepped into this new multiverse it looked rather like most.

He started looking around,to gather any information he could but nothing came. He was ready to leave for another location when he overheard a rather distinctive voice.

" Look Dream, i miss the little guy too but he is much safer with his parents. Be glad Ink even found them. I'm frankly impressed ".

He spotted the monster in question and was intrigued at the black boned Skeleton. Was this perhaps the Destroyer of this world? He kind of doubted it, even if their appearance was strangely familiar. Their magic didn't feel as potent as most Destroyers at all.

"I just wish Ink had at least let us say goodbye. I'm just shocked, that's all".

He sneered at seeing another Dream but quickly left when he saw their skull twitch in his direction. Seems he found a sensitive one, much more powerful than the usual~.

He was annoyed he couldn't go anonymous anymore. He had forgotten he had been here before but that glitching monster was definitely new. Let's see what little Inky is up to. Did the other still remember him?~.

He was dissapointed at the weka deuces of the Creators space. Was Inky getting weaker? Or was it something else?

Gently opening the door to the Creator's home, he looked around unimpressed at the disorganised mess. He could already sense another here and the guilt was practically overwhelming his senses. He followed the emotion and saw the Creator, with his back towards him. Now that just would not do~.

"Oh honey. I'm home~".

Before they could turn around he pushed them against the cabinet, making sure to grip their arms tight. The violent jerking was pitiful and soon Ink stilled in his grip. Their bones looked more delicate than he remembered. What had the other been up to?

"Inky! How rude not to greet guests. I came so far to meet you as well. I heard some interesting rumours about a baby bird visiting. Do you know anything about it?~".

The Creator's breath hitched and their panic started to climb. He didn't bother to try and soothe them. He already knew the answer after all.

"I- have no i-dea what you a-are talking about".

He started to release them and felt the relief coming off them. That swiftly changed after he ripped off their arm, making them cry out in pain. Gods were sturdy things and he knew Inky could easily fix it later.

The crying was starting to get annoying and he merely watched as they collapsed onto the ground. He forgot how pathetic he found this repressed Ink.

"You know I'm doing this because i care, right? I am after all the only one who knows how dark you truly are~".

He waited till the crying had stopped, before using a gentle grip on their chin, to tip their head up towards him.

"You know I don't like lying. Now let me try again. Where is my child, Ink".

He saw them hesitate so he moved towards their other arm. They didn't need all their limbs after all.

"NOT HERE. Please don't. I sent them home. Stop hurting me".

He had to jump back, when another player joined the game. He looked over and saw Dream pull back another arrow, in preparation to attack. He was tired of being interrupted and being led around to dead ends. He caught the next arrow in his hand and crushed it.

"I'm just having a chat with Inky. He needs to learn not to touch what isn't his~".

"What are you on about? Ink hasn't been near you since last time".

"So he didnt meet a a babybones with wings? Maybe called Karma perchance?"

"You can't touch them anymore. Ink sent them home. Away from the likes of you".

He laughed at the absurdity. Oh dear. It seems the Creator was a bigger liar then he thought. He felt only truth from Dream but Ink on the other hand reeked of fear and shame. It would be very naughty if someone popped the pretty illusion~.

"Is that what Inky told you? I have already gone there and his parents haven't seen him for months. I wonder what Mr God did with the tiny fledgling~".

He knew Dream could tell he wasn't lying. He made sure to project his emotions and helpfully boosted Inks. The paling of the Creator made his words much more impactful. He watched in amusement as Dream lowered his bow and looked at the Creator in disbelief.

Wonder what Inky would say to get out of this? He was looking forward to the show~.

SwapVerse Multiverese

While he had enjoyed watching Dream verbally eviscerate Inky, it had taken too long to get the full story. He had been very tempted to rip the other limbs off, when he heard them say he had drugged his child. He knew there had to be more but Inky had gone suspiciously quiet after seeing his expression.

He might have been a tad angry, but he didn't have time to waste. He would remember to come back or instead bask in the knowledge. That all would know the misdeeds the Creator had done to an innocent child. Now that did sound fun~.

This new multiverse was refreshing to bask in. The destruction magic seemed to saturate the surroundings and was almost a vital part of the AU's. He hummed in satisfaction and felt a purr building up. Why Inky sent Karma here was baffling, as even the so-called 'logic' was stupid. Maybe the other had lost it....oh well!

It didn't take him long to find the source of the destructive magic. It was a monster that looked too much like Inky for his liking but the balanced emotions was a rare treat. Walking closer he realised this was another soulless monster with traces of familiar death magic. How fortunate~.

"What hello there! It seems you recently had something of mine. Care to help me out, my dear new 'friend'~".

He had made sure to stretch out his wings and even pressed his magic out into the surroundings. Strangely they didn't react and he watched as they continued to absorb the AU they were standing in. Once they were done, they turned around.

"Are you looking for Karma? He isn't here anymore".

He hadn't even asked much and was already getting the main thing he needed. He needed more though. He was about to demand for more answers before he was rudely interrupted.

"You seem very emotional and strong. Even better than the other one. You will be a good thing for mine".

He wasnt sure whether to be offended or flattered at that assessment. He supposed a soulless being would have different standards for what was useful. This might be the most stoic Ink variant he had met so far, but he was much easier to deal with.

"I sent them to a multiverse with a strong Dream. It will help them be happier".

.......what? He had started to like this monster and then they told him this? It sadly does look like he would need to add more monsters on the list, to give a personal visit to. That reasoning Pale gave almost sounded scripted, like he was taught it. Being soulless made no difference to how he saw the other, only their actions did.

He did stiffen when he learned which exact multiverse they sent his raven to. He had heard rumours of a Dream eating a corrupted apple, then completely snapping. How was this conducive to happiness at all?

While grateful for the information he was terrified for his little raven. Their luck was insane. Good thing they were part of death. Who knows if they would have survived otherwise.

He would keep an eye out on this monster though, as he sensed a potential bond with his child. At least this isn't the worst monster to have to get along with. They were decent enough and he felt the power radiating off of them. He bet they would be fun to fight in the future.

Shattered Dream Multiverse

He was sure the scene he was watching would usually amuse him, but he had long gone past his tolerance levels. He had been incredibly patient and thorough when looking for his crow and now he was still nowhere insight.

Instead he was led to these idiots, fighting a frankly dull battle. Where was the dust? Where was the true violence? It looked more like a kiddy fight to him than a battle. Him playing with his brother was more thrilling than this.

He looked over the corrupted Dream and hummed at their power. It was quite impressive but they seemed to hold back a bit too much for his liking. It also seemed that their attacks weren't as effective as they could be.

Their emotions were an intriguing mess of negativity and positivity and it seemed the poor little dear couldn't deal with it. Their movement went from smooth to jerky, as if they held back a more violent impulse.

The three he was fighting against didn't seem to notice a thing. He scoffed at the boring Nightmare. Corruption really added to any Nightmares look, even if only his beloved did It perfectly~.

He decided play time was over and jumped in between the two sides, blocking attacks from both.

"WHO ARE YOU?!"

Swap sans were such an annoying bunch. So obnoxious and holier than thou. It seemed Ink and Nightmare were much smarter, as they stood in a defensive stance. Maybe old dogs can be taught new tricks~.

He looked at his true target. This is who Pale said should have Karma and he saw no reason the soulless being would have lied to him. Oneiro was apparently an approved caretaker now, but he wasn't stupid enough not to have seen the threat their words conveyed. He was looking forward to the future fights Pale would incite to 'test' his worthiness. Why couldn't more monsters be more straightforward, like them?

" What do you want? "

"I just want my little Karma. Where are they?~"

" ...who? "

It seems playing nice wouldn't work. He teleported in front of them and grabbed them by their neck. He slammed them on the ground and pulsed his aura, to neutralise the other tentacles.

"A skeleton babybones that has black wings with white tips. I was told you had them. So I shall repeat again. Where are they?~".

He had been rather horrified when he had learned his child's wings had changed. Pale had said he had found them like that, so it would seem he was too nice to Inky. He would correct his mistake, once his child was safe. It seems the multiverse just consisted of idiots unable to care for a plant, let alone a child.

" Baby bird? They are at home, I think? No wait, they are safe! They wanted to take him from me! He has been mine for years, they don't get to ruin him as well ".

Now he knows the other is lying. This multiverse hardly ran that much faster than Pales, so years was clearly an exaggeration. Moving his skull closer to the other, he realised the other truly believed that. Moving his head over to their audience he felt the shock and confusion, flowing off them. Looks like he would have to sort this out for himself...again.

Leaning back he moved his other hand to their chest and plunged his arm, through to their SOUL. He ignored the cries from his surroundings and ripped away the corruption on their SOUL. He left no visible damage and was pleased practising this skill had made him so efficient.

He happily absorbed the corruption, as it was nothing compared to his own power. Unlike most Dreams he did not suppress his desires or thoughts behind prettily little masks. Strict morals were so overrated and led to such messy situations.

He watched in curiosity as the golden liquid dripped off the previously corrupted skeleton, leaving behind a crying passive Dream skeleton. They had looked more interesting before but perhaps now they would tell him what he wanted.

"I didn't mean to. I couldn't keep him safe here. They would have taken him or my mind would have finally broken. I'm sorry!"

He sighed at the pathetic sight and got up, wiping his hands of the clinging golden substance. He felt the hope and relief rise in the other three and cringed. His poor child, having to deal with slow idiots. Hopefully they are ok.

His movement seems to have reminded them all that he was an unknown.

"Who are you and what did you do to my brother?".

He looked blankly at the Nightmare. Shock was a prominent emotion he sensed as well as fear. It's like these idiots had never met a Destroyer before.

This Dream was still sobbing on the ground and he could feel a migraine building up. If he didn't get answers soon he was dusting them all.
