Chapter 141- (?? Multiverse)

Karma wants a little break from all the well meaning adults and thinks creating a portal would be something fun to do!
The Bitties insist on coming and regret the decision immediately...at least Karma is having fun?

——

?? Multiverse

"This is a terrible idea"

"YOU SHOULD REALLY LISTEN TO SUNNY, KARMA. THIS CAN ONLY END BADLY"

"I don't know, guys. Maybe it could be fun"

"Whose side are you on, Blot?!"

Karma had long ago tuned out the Bitties argument, still thinking his idea was great.

" You dont think it's a bad idea, do you Nix?"

The ghostly pale eyes of the Void cat narrowed, tail swishing in agitation and clear disapproval of their monsters 'plan'. They sneezed, giving one last look to the Bitties before deciding he needed to act and soon .

Karma sighed as he watched his familiar sprint back into the house, guessing they were going to grab an adult but he thought there was no need, everything was going to be fine .

He just wanted to do something fun by himself and while he loved seeing everyone again it was getting a bit much, so a little break would be perfect!

"They worry too much. I'm great at making portals! I just need a bit more practice is all."

The Bitties shivered in unison, unsure why a slither of dread crept into their SOULS at such innocent sounding words.

"So what if I've only done it successfully a handful of times. Practice makes perfect after all!"

Sunny did not like how any of this was sounding, instructing the other two Bitties to hold tightly onto Karmas scarf in proportion, when he saw the babybones begin to form a portal. He looked at the end product warily, the 'innocent' looking black portal resembled others he had witnessed in the past but the aura coming from it, was not comforting in the slightest.

"..CAN WE GO BACK INSIDE, K-KARMA?"

Azure said shakily, the way Sunny had frozen and was looking at the portal like it was about to bite them and devour their SOULS, did not fill him with confidence. He was wary of even asking what exactly they had even sensed from it but was guessing it was nothing good with how pale they were becoming.

Karma gently pet the Bitties when they started to make odd noises, looking down at them in slight worry.

"Are you guys getting cold? Hungry perhaps? I can leave you inside if you want..."

He said unsurely, raising his magic so they could feed but grew more confused about what the issue was, when the Bitties still looked unhappy.

"It's ok. I can drop you off with dad before I go. I hope you guys aren't getting sick."

He said the last part in worry but could sense how healthy their SOULS felt, so didn't think it was that. He looked back at his portal and smiled, rather impressed how uniform it was considering he had not formed one in years.

Sunny choked back on hysterical laughter, holding tighter to Karmas scarf when they tried to gently coax him out. The kid clearly wasn't going to listen to them or understood their worry, still looking determined to still go through the..'portal' death/darkness/no HoPe and he refused to let them do it alone!

"No. We are staying."

"WE ARE?!"

"Yay! New adventure!"

"SHUT UP, BLOT!"

Karma was a tad lost on their odd reactions and sudden change of opinion but shrugged it off, his excitement of forming and soon to be travelling through his portal far too great to resist.

"This is going to be amazing!..lets hope it actually works this time."

He said casually, not noticing the renewed horror on Sunnys' face as he stepped into the portal, just missing Nixs' sharp meow of alarm.

Void

Karma scrunched his face as he looked around at the darkness. He turned his head from side to side, hoping to make more sense of what he saw but it was to no avail, crossing his arms in pure confusion.

"...i think i might be lost."

He ignored how Sunny burst into laughter again, adjusting his scarf to cover the Bitties, hoping that would help them relax. He knew that Nova and dad had said his friends were hardier than their Bitty counterparts but was still worried about them, unsure why Azure had passed out when he revealed where they were.

He honestly found the Void quite relaxing, even if his parental bonds were a bit dimmer he barely felt them then he was used to but it was better than the last time he was here, as he had not felt anything before.

Hopefully no one was panicking at his sudden disappearance but as no one was sending any distress down the bonds, he thought all was well!

He was sure it would be fine in the end, knowing how weird time could be in this place, similar to the AntiVoid in that way. He bet no one even realised he was gone, convinced he could go explore without any worry.

It was a genius plan, having wanted to explore the Void for a while and enjoying how it reminded him of the dark place .

Although, he was confused how he managed to even travel here, never having achieved this consistently before despite how often he tried when he was younger.

Could it be his magic control was getting better or was there a deeper reason..?

It didn't really matter to him either way, just happy to continue his travelling.

Sure this place may look dull at first glance but his senses were alight with information, smiling widely when he sensed so many fragmented SOULS. His role may no longer have a tight hold on him anymore, thanks to that weird String multiverse but that didn't mean he would ignore it entirely.

It was still as much a part of him as was the new weird Guardian part of him was, which he was happy to ignore for a bit longer far too many changes had happened to him over tine, it sometimes hurt to feel so little of his original self . Besides, Reaper had instilled in him the value of the natural cycle and no matter what he personally thought of his father , they did have some excellent points.

With a grin he summoned his Scythe, twirling it around before grabbing it with both hands and gathering his magic around the blade. He swung, letting his magic spread far, pleased when he sensed some SOULS being freed from the endless darkness.

It supposedly wasnt a pleasant fate being stuck here which he was still sceptical about so he would help any nearby SOULS go back to the cycle while he explored. Of course he knew he couldn't save them all , as this place was endless and he would have to practically live here full time to even make a dent in the SOULS stuck here.

That there were so many fragments and shards, only made it more troublesome but that was ok, he was just here for fun!

"Right or left? Decisions, decisions.."

Both were identical in looks in his opinion and the Bitties were still being weirdly quiet, so he quickly spun in a circle around and stopped randomly.

"This way it is!"

He said brightly, determined to enjoy himself and feeling more confident after travelling by himself for the past few months.

He whistled as he walked, amused how the 'ground' did not truly exist and having read that some monsters 'fell' for eternity if they just believed it.

Perception was everything here, gently pushing Azure back into his scarf so they wouldn't look again. He was guessing they thought this place was 'terrifying' so it reflected that belief, an intriguing fact and one he would love to try and study.

The omniverse was so entertaining, curious if there was a multiverse out there that resembled this place at all. He had so many questions form, from the mere idea of it: What would they look like? How would their society be formed? Would they truly be able to die?

He snickered when he saw the brief after image of a Sans variant appear, guessing they had been travelling but knew for a fact they wouldn't have noticed him at all. He was unsure why more monsters didn't use this place as a way to travel, as it was perfect in his opinion, curious to see if he could use it himself in the future.

Probably better than portals in the end, especially as he hadn't been aiming to come here at all.

"I wonder what other cool places my portals could take me to..?"

He muttered to himself, gently patting Sunnys back as they let out a whimper. They sounded like they really disliked this place, his worry building right back up again.

"I can still drop the three of you somewhere else. I know at least one place i can go to without issue."

The inbetween was a great place, so glad his brother had given him his pin. Having that sort of safety net was always nice. He might be having fun right now but it hardly seemed like his friends were.

"YOU WILL JUST COME BACK HERE THOUGH!"

"Sure will. I'm not wasting an opportunity like this."

He said truthfully to Azures statement, seeing no need to lie. He didn't mind being here alone, casually slashing his Scythe when an unknown came far too close. He hummed in interest at the weird shadow-like being disintegrated, guessing this was an impression of a monster that was now long gone.

He could it wasn't alive but not technically dead either....

What a weird fun place he was in!

-

W.D.Gaster had been here for a very long time, having lost track months centuries ago. He often glided in the Void, having rarer moments where he could observe his AU, annoyed it took falling into the CORE before his many theories could be proven true.

His SOUL or what little remained of it burned in fury when he witnessed what that human child was doing to his home, theses RESETS a thing he desperately wished to study but also wanting to end the little demon.

It hardly mattered anymore now though, as he could barely interact with anyone, apart from any of his equally unfortunate variants who had suffered the same fate as him. He had initially been pleased and surprised when he met them but was now more bored by the majority of them, preferring to wander the Void by himself.

Solitude had grown on him, even if his new form had not. He was jealous that not all his variants lost their original form, quietly sighing as he continued his self appointed path for the day.

He was hoping to find some more opening to some other multiverses, thrilled whenever he found a brief opening that gave him a short time to explore a new place. It was mainly the Underground that he got to observe but it was still far better then the endless black with its dark shows and red shades, that eerily looked like it wanted to swallow him whole.

He still hasnt grown used to it and doubted he ever would, abruptly freezing in his 'walk' when he heard something.

That should be impossible, his single eyelight burning brightly as his interest was piqued. He paused when he finally spotted the anomaly, hiding his form as best as he could as he quietly watched them, unsure who exactly they were speaking to.

"-telling you. There is nothing to be worried about! You guys are really panicky.."

"SOMETHING JUST TRIED TO EAT US"

"What? No it didn't-"

"OH THANK GOODNE-"

"-it wanted to shatter our SOULS. No eating involved."

"..YOU DO REALISE THAT ISN'T ANY BETTER?..YOU DO UNDERSTAND, KARMA?..RIGHT?!"

"You guys are clearly overreacting. Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off somewhere else?"

"OVERREACTING?!"

It was honestly amusing seeing the monster clearly exasperated with the other unknown voice, his breath stuttering when he got a full view of them a child!

He noticed that the babybones' single white eyelight had a slight red tinge to it, clearly showing they had DETERMINATION. That was a rather useful thing to have when travelling the Void, otherwise sure death was likely to occur unless you were 'lucky'.

This clearly wasnt a normal child, especially with the way they looked thrilled by being here and not scared out of their wits like normal beings were.

He hummed and narrowed his gaze at their scarf, seeing slight movement and guessing this is where the other voice came from, making him very curious to see what exactly they were hiding. He desperately wanted to get closer but didn't dare to catch their attention just yet, having observed how sensitive to the magic around them they were.

How fascinating . He would enjoy observing the latest visitor to his home, amused at their continued arguing with the high pitched voice .
