Chapter- 120 (Between Omniverses)

Karma starts feeling lonely but that soon changes, ending up in a strange new place...had he been here before?

Karma had to stay in the AntiVoid for a while, as his dad had been worried about Mr Oneiro finding them so soon. He felt odd whenever that odd monster was mentioned but still readily agreed with dads decision, not wanting to cause more stress for his dad. They were still being so very fussy after his sudden illness and he would hate to make them feel worse.

Although, they did have a rather odd reaction when they asked him a certain question.

"Karma, how would you feel if I made sure that Oneiro could never come near you again? I could go and personally deal with them right now, if you wished?"

Karma wanted to enthusiastically agree but paused, feeling something was wrong with this question. No matter how he thought it would be best there was a small part of him that screamed this was wrong. So he decided to answer honestly.

"..i dont know"

He cooed as his dads eyelights flashed, finding it rather pretty, although he spotted some unnamed emotion there as well but it did lead to them cuddling for the rest of the day, which was rather nice. Dad never brought that up again but they started to stay away for a longer period of time for some reason.

He rather enjoyed being in the white space, as his dad had left a lot of things to entertain him and had even made a massive nest he could lay in...but he still wished to go outside again.

He did spend most of the time napping but his dad reassured him that was normal, especially considering how much magic he had used to help his fri- ex-friends. He still felt sad thinking about that but dad said he would always make new ones, which had lifted up his spirits.

"Did you sleep enough, little star?"

He spun around, chirping a greeting at his dad, giggling as he was lifted up before they both flopped into the nest.

"Yep!..Can I go outside yet?"

"Not yet, little one. You still aren't recovered"

Karma was disappointed by the news but unsurprised. That seemed a common theme at this point but dad did point out they had never gotten this sick before. Why did he feel like that was a lie?

"Fine..are you at least staying longer today?"

It seemed his dad hardly spent time with him lately.

"Sorry, little bird. I still have a few things to do still"

Karma whined but knew there would be no convincing them otherwise, so he decided to enjoy the time he had with them.

While Karma did like the AntiVoid he was getting rather twitchy. He had more energy now, so hardly needed to sleep, meaning he was getting rather lonely. It didn't help that he had no clue how long he had been here, as it felt that everytime he asked dad they said it had only been a few days.

So, not having much to do he decided to think more of this mystery name he had spoken. 'Traveller' sounded like a cool name and he was sure he would have remembered a monster with a name like that. He never brought it up with dad, especially after the first time he did as they suddenly disappeared for a long time.

That had been a lonely time..

His hand rose to his scarf again, hovering over the area the pin had been. It had been a pretty pin and he had really liked the magic in it and was starting to regret giving it to dad. He bet they already destroyed it.

His SOUL ached at the thought, feeling tears start to gather in his sockets. He tried to wipe them away but for some reason they wouldn't stop.

He just wanted to know more about this 'Traveller', was that asking for too much?

Between Omniverses

Karma squeaked in alarm when a bright light flashed and he suddenly found himself in a large room. He knew he had never been before but for some reason felt safe and like nothing would hurt him here. This rightfully put him on edge and he scanned his surroundings in suspicion, wondering if Mr Oneiro was to blame.

Standing still he looked around, eyelight glued to the wall of pictures. Maybe this would help him understand where he was.

Hesitantly moving towards it he examined each picture, seeing a multitude of monsters and scenery but noting that seemed familiar. Looking back at the bed he saw a large chest at the end of the bed and he chirped in curiosity at bins of plushies beside the bed. They looked really soft..

Shaking that thought off he clenched his hand, startled to feel something in his right hand. Opening it he was happy to see his pin again and eagerly put it back on his scarf. Feeling a bit more settled he looked around the room with more confidence, curiously touching the many items, confused when he felt his magic on some of the items. He was sure he would have remembered coming here before..wouldn't he?

He hummed in confusion before cautiously looking at the door, wondering if he should try and explore more. Fiddling with his scarf he took a cautious step towards it and opened the door, poking his skull out the room.

There seemed to be an endless corridor which did not help his anxiety but he didnt sense anyone, so that was at least a positive. He briefly considered just staying in the room but that sounded boring. He hadn't been out in ages, he wanted to explore!

Deciding to go left he looked through all the doors he passed, lighting up at all the things he spotted. He even saw a room that was filled with pillows, which he was very tempted to lay in but he still had so much to see and it never seemed to end!

This place was amazing but he froze when he suddenly saw a door with his name on it. He shakily reached a hand for the butterfly door plate, feeling the same magic that was on his pin. Pushing the door open he chirped in surprise at how cool it looked. It was like what he imagined his dream room would look like with the star designs on the ceiling and the many pillows and blankets on the bed.

His nerves left when he felt his magic in this room, curiously poking all the items, wondering how they got here. He was surprised when he saw the window, as outside was an endless black with floating islands scattered about. It was strangely calming to look at it and he only moved when he felt hunger start to creep in. Did this place even have a kitchen he could use?

Somehow his body knew the way and soon found himself in the kitchen, in awe at the sheer size of the room. He paused before opening the fridge, wondering if he was even allowed to touch it but a feeling of warmth and safety washed over him, chased away that feeling. He was impressed by the various ingredients but what should he make?

SOUP

He was unsure where that thought came from but it was a good idea. He started to cook but it was just when he was about to plate up the soup that he looked at his creation in puzzlement. How did he even know how to cook?

Dad never taught him and they never stayed in a multiverse long enough for anyone else to teach him but he did remember dad saying his memory wasn't the best...

Shrugging the thought off he ate his food, humming happily at the taste. This wasn't too bad. At least he didn't burn it like Palette nearly did so before. He finished his bowl and even had seconds, putting the leftovers in the fridge. Who knew how long he would stay here for.

He still had no clue how time was passing but he did eventually find the exit of the home, surprised that it looked like a small tent on the outside. Magic was so cool!

Sitting on the ground he peacefully watched his surroundings, occasionally scratching his neck in irritation, wincing when he scratched too hard. He had been so itchy there lately and nothing seemed to stop it!

Not to mention how chalky his bones had become. He was starting to doubt if his dad was telling the truth that he was getting better. Maybe a bath would help it?

It didn't take him long to find a bathroom but when he spotted the vast amount of soaps he froze in indecision. What should he use and what was that white stuff in a container?

'- use bubble bath and bone strengthening powder in the water '

Huh, so that's what it was. These random memories were very helpful. Of course he no longer told dad when they appeared, as he didn't like how he felt when dad healed him. It made his magic act funny and it sometimes even tried to lash out at dad, to his alarm. His SOUL always warned him when he was near dad lately but he was very confused as to why.

Thankfully his dad had been understanding about it but he still didn't want a repeat, so he pretended everything was fine. The memories didn't seem harmful but did teach him a lot of things. It was odd that the voice only seemed to come from one monster though.

He focused back on the present, stopping the water before it could get too high. He had picked a container that made really colourful bubbles and with only a second hesitation added the white stuff in the water too. Testing the water with his hand he giggled at the tingly feeling but it didn't hurt, so decided it was safe enough to go in.

He felt so much better after a wash and while his bones were not back to normal, it was still an improvement. Wrapping himself in a nearby towel he made his way back to his room? as he was sure he had seen some clothes in the draws.

He had been right! And even better the majority were animal themed, his favourite!

Whoever had made this room had excellent taste and he chirped happily as he put on a cat onesie moving over to the mirror to admire it. He giggled at the ears on the hood but when he looked at his face he tilted his head, feeling rather confused.

..Something was off with his appearance but he just couldn't tell what. The longer he looked the more unnerved he felt looking at himself, so he quickly grabbed his scarf and wrapped it around his neck, already feeling much better. His blue eyelight seemed lighter than usual but perhaps that was due to being ill..?

He suddenly yawned and looked at the bed with want. He supposed a short nap wouldn't hurt..

Karma woke up refreshed and the desire to look around more. He had no idea why he felt so safe and confident here but he was going to take full advantage of it. He was sure dad wouldn't mind if he took his time getting back. He winced as he suddenly got a headache but pushed through it, he would explore more today!

He looked through many more rooms, finding a library which looked frankly intimidating to step in. Just how many books did this being have? Walking hastily past it he stopped at a colourful door, grinning at seeing so many art supplies inside. This looked fun!

He lost himself using the many items, jumping from one medium to another. He found paints, clay and even fabrics to sew.

He had fun even if they didn't turn out the best. When he looked at his creations he was puzzled why they all looked like the same thing. A winged figure that was smiling. Why was it so familiar?

He whimpered as his headache surged, deciding to leave it for now. He found it best to try and distract himself when this happened, even if his dad strangely panicked whenever it occured.

They could be so overprotective!

Karma looked through even more rooms but felt a growing sense of loneliness overcome him. It almost felt like he was searching for someone but he was clueless as to who...

Maybe he should go back to dad?

He grimaced at the thought, already knowing they wouldn't let him leave the AntiVoid in worry..but where else could he go? It's not like he had many choices. He felt something flash and looking down noticed his cookie pin was glowing.

"Can you take me somewhere away from dad?"

He knew it sounded silly but it felt natural to talk to the pin, as if he knew it would help him. He smiled widely as it flashed before he was engulfed in light yet again.
