Chapter- 106 (Guardian Haven Multiverse)

'Parasite' had been alive for a long time and a new vessel was desperately needed. It's a good thing one was practically hand delivered to him~

Guardian Haven Multiverse

It had been watching the whole time, it always was, as it had little else to do. Its 'subordinates' bored it, even if it was forced to play the role of exasperated Negativity Guardian. It was growing tempting to just dust them all but it sadly needed them, at least until it found a new vessel to live in.

It had perked up when it felt a powerful being enter its multiverse, curious and hungry to know more. Not many realised what it was or that this place was its home multiverse but that was fine with them. Being underestimated was what kept it alive for so long after all. It was also how they kept their 'brother' from killing them. Monsters were so simple and easy to play with, even the so-called 'mighty Guardians'.

It knew it was superior to them and was merely biding its time to take over the multiverse, as it rightly deserved all along. It often came to these gatherings of Guardians as it enjoyed hearing of the many new places, not to mention the tantalising power many of them gave off. It was often tempted to leave the broken vessel that was slowly dusting, that it had overtaken many years ago but it didn't want to risk it too soon. It had to plan things perfectly, or it would be the end of it.

It had slowly slipped into the group, getting to know the many Guardians, amused how they never noticed it was never quite the same as them. It still had feelings and thoughts but it knew it resembled more a Parasite than a true monster. Even more amusing that in the end it became its chosen name.

When asked it said it was to spite its 'brother' who would refer to it as such in the early years. That had been rather early on when its acting had been truly deplorable and before the memories from this vessel's SOUL finally became its own.

It had lately been eyeing the one named Ordeal, as they felt sufficiently powerful and seemed to let their guard down a lot. Perfect for it to capitalise on. It was standing beside its target, having become 'friends' with them, when it felt the new magic in the multiverse, its tentacle swaying in pleasure. The new being smelled powerful and it thought the SOUL of this new thing would be even better. It startled as its old target choked and tried to act concerned, when it felt their magic lash out.

"Are you ok, Ordeal? Your magic is kind of-

"I'M FINE!"

It shivered as their magic washed over it, glad there was no positivity in it. It rather disliked the major weakness of this vessel but looking at the source of the new magic, it felt that would soon no longer be an issue. It tilted its skull, examining the tiny monster in curiosity. They felt powerful and it smirked at how much better it would be once it grew up.

It sadly had to leave when it felt monsters from that Sin multiverse come in. It was rather uncomfortable being around them, feeling they could easily look through it with little issue. As it moved away it shivered at the gaze it felt on their body, moving quicker to escape the feeling. It smirked when it heard Ordeal speak, amused at the silly rules its vessel's brother set up.

"N-Now wait a moment. You can't just leave this AU, you have to ask the owner". Ordeal tried to interject to this idea, trying to do some damage control.

" No need. It's all approved! "

It quietly chuckled as Abstinence spoke up, knowing what they spoke of, as its vessel had still been connected to its counterpart. That bond had broken a few days ago and it hardly took much to guess what had happened. It had tried to warn its 'brother' that what they were doing would have consequences. It had felt a tad protective of the golden being, due to its vessels' memories but it was also glad that weakness was now gone, leaving it to be much more free in its actions.

-

It struggled to follow the babybones discreetly for the next few hours, glad that the Guardians were just as curious as it, even if not for the same reason, allowing it to easily hide among them. It watched as the small being flew in the air, admiring how fast the child was. Its new potential vessel was looking perfect and it doubted it would be much of a struggle to overpower them.

They might be powerful but they were also a child, it wouldn't be hard to make them lower their guard down. Now if only it could manage to be near them with no witnesses...

It was pleasantly surprised and annoyed, when it heard that Gluttony would teach the child to summon attack magic. That would only make things harder but it was shocked at the creature the child summoned. It got closer, examining it from multiple angles, scoffing at the mere thought of this being dangerous.

It might look bold and menacing but that could easily be a scare tactic. It was why it liked its corrupted form so much, as many instantly feared it..it also just happens to be the only thing keeping its vessels together lately. 1000 years was a decent amount for a vessel but it now realised it had been too rough with it in the early years.

It had been elated to be free from being bound to the Tree of Feeling; the power it had exerted ruined its vessel more than it thought. Healing magic was useless and only hurt it further, which made negativity its main source for keeping itself alive.

"That can't be a Gaster Blaster. I've never seen one like tha-"

It quietly hissed in pain and jumped back, cursing itself for not being more careful. It should have known better than to underestimate it, no matter its initial thoughts. It hid the singed tentacle behind its back, pretending it had easily escaped the creature's blast. No need to broadcast any weakness.

It flinched as a voice spoke next to it, relieved it was only Falcon.

"Are you ok, Parasite? That thing was vicious!"

"I am ok, I do think I will leave though. Don't want to be around that"

"I get you. I think the majority are losing interest now that their lives may be on the line now!"

It chuckled in faked amusement before creating a portal to its home base, snarling at how much work this new being was. It knew it could still go for its previous target but it was stubborn and it refused to change its plan. It stiffened as its office door opened, glaring as Cross' head poked through.

"Boss? Are you ok? Do you need any-"

"GET OUT!"

It threw the chair at the door, just missing Cross at the last moment, not really wanting to kill its subordinate just yet. It usually relished in the fear it caused but it was far too frustrated and in too much pain at the moment. Once the door was shut It adjusted its injured tentacle, grimacing at the lack of healing occuring. It seems its vessel was close to expiring..or the new beings' magic was much more potent than expected. No matter, it would just have to work faster.

-

The weeks crawled on with it growing more annoyed at how protected the new being was. It was never alone and it knew if it wanted to succeed it would have to do something. It was sitting in the dining room, drinking some wine when an idea came to it. It needed a distraction and who better than its many subordinates.

It knew that many feared it but it also knew how to gain loyalty. A few kind words and gestures and they were theirs for life.

"Killer? Gather the rest. I have a job for you i think you will all enjoy"

"Yes Boss!"

Killer was truly its favourite, an emotionless doll it could easily control thanks to its vessel's powers. That's why it chose this group, so easy to play with and do whatever it wished. Its smile grew as they entered the room, relishing in the tension and the growing fear.

"Listen well, as I won't repeat myself. This is what i want you to do"

Its plan was fairly simple. It just needed its tools to distract the main monsters that surrounded its future vessel so it could exchange bodies. It knew none of these monsters would likely survive, far too weak to fight their targets but it merely needed the others occupied.

"Do you all understand?"

"Yes Boss!"

"Good. I expect great things from you all"

It hid a smirk as they puffed up in pride, finding it so easy to play with them.

-

It led the soon to be dust piles to the AU it sensed the child in. It was irritatingly a Swap AU, making it shudder at the high positivity. As it passed a monster it sharpened its tentacle and stabbed it, pleased when fear and panic grew in the air. It sighed in relief as the pain left. That was so much better.

"You know what to do. Meet up here when you are done"

"Yes Boss!"

It stared as they left, chuckling at their excitement. It was its last gift to them, before they inevitably died. Its smirk grew at sensing its target close by and slowly made its way towards them, dusting any monsters it passed on the way. It finally arrived at Snowdin, confused where its target was. It was sure it felt them here...

"Are you looking for someone?"

It yelped at the voice coming from behind it and spun around, coming face to face with its target. It discreetly looked around, pleased no one else was here or that dreaded 'Blasty'. He pasted a small smile on its face, lowering its tentacles to look less intimidating.

"Are you all alone? That doesn't seem very safe"

"I'm fine! They said they wouldn't be long, i just have to wait here"

It barely kept the smile off its face at the news and crouched down to get closer to its target. The babybones was far too trusting, as they merely looked at them in confusion, not even trying to get away when it placed its hands on their shoulders.

It decided to examine its new vessel, tutting at the slight imperfections in the bones but it was sure it could easily fix that. Now for the final part. It grabbed them tighter and started to summon their SOUL.

"I would apologise for this but I truly don't care. Soon you shall be-what are you doing? Why isn't it working?! What h-"

It was blown back by some strange magic, that reminded it of Judgement magic. It growled as it shakily stood up and glared at the hissing babybones, refusing to back down. It only managed a single step before gold filled its vision followed by searing pain. It tried to scream but nothing came out, feeling its vessel crumble to dust.

No matter, it could still survive. It just had to get near another body. It tried to move and felt true panic when bright magic encased its form, burning its entire essence. It tried to fight and run but it was no use. It slowly started to fade, cursing itself for being too greedy.

-

Karma was pleased the magic their brother taught them worked and could see the damage the weird Nightmare had received. He preened at how well it had worked but stiffened when he saw his attacker stand back up.

He hissed as they came back toward him but his vision was soon blocked by Gluttony's dripping black wings. He relaxed at being with someone safe again but chirped in distress when they jumped away from him. He had little time to call out before dust filled the air and someone landed in front of him.

His SOUL was racing and his thoughts panicked, feeling far too overwhelmed and scared to look up at the being in front of him. He sniffled and hid in his scarf when he felt them come closer, preparing to use his pin to get away.

He might have survived his SOUL breaking before but he didn't want to take his chances of it happening again.

~~~~~~
Other Guardians: *Suspiciously* So why did you chose that nickname?
'Parasite':...Spite?
Other Guardians: *Already nodding* Perfectly understandable
-
'Parasite': I am powerful and wise. Nothing can affect me!
Also 'Parasite': *Gets hurt by Blasty*
'Parasite': That was an accident and will never happen again!
