Chapter- 104 (Guardian Haven Multiverse)
Karma has fun flying!..Ordeals stress never seems to end
———
Guardian Haven Multiverse
Karma was excited to fly again. He still had no clue what AU they were in now, as it looked like a mishmash of multiple ones he had seen before...had an XGaster been here? Before he could stiffen at the thought Gluttony squeezed him tight, making him chirp in question.
"It looks like we will have spectators for our flight. Do you mind, little gem? I will happily get rid of them, if you want?"
He was confused until he realised they meant Raptors brother and a Nightmare, who he thought felt rather familiar. He looked at Abstinence, who waved him off, saying they would keep watch as well.
"I don't mind"
He couldn't sense many SOULS in this AU or too near him, so this was perfect. He looked up at the sky, smiling in glee at how perfect it looked. It was a beautiful clear blue sky with not a cloud in sight. He was itching to fly, bouncing in Gluttony's arm, almost falling out if it wasn't for their tight grip.
"Ok ok! We can fly"
Gluttony was entranced with how happy his little gem was and was looking forward to how much it would increase with flying.
"Time to go, little bird"
He held Karma close, who looked a tad confused, before throwing them up in the air. Karma squawked in surprise but soon beat their wings to stay afloat. They glared at him for a few minutes, before deciding that flying was much more important. He watched as they played in the sky, keeping a sharp eye on their movements. They were much faster than before, but that would only make this more entertaining.
"PlAy?~"
"Not yet, Raptor. We have to give them time to warm up first and a head start"
He saw Raptors wings tense, looking ready to push off at any moment. He rather liked this version of Dream, as they reminded him a lot himself, when he was running on instinct.
They were much easier to get along with, then the others he had seen so far. He rarely came to this multiverse, as it didn't really interest him but Generosity insisted they visit to be 'friendly'.
He found it odd how they were including him in things, considering how they had tried to distance themselves from him, after Karma had vanished and they finally remembered that he was a Sin. Maybe they were trying to mend bridges or felt guilty..?
He didn't really care either way and thought it was entertaining to play with them. Abstinence of course joined in but sadly the rest had gone their own way and rarely kept in touch. That was ok, the Omniverse was full of new beings he could still have fun with.
He tensed when he spotted Karma fold in their wings and start to drop but looking at Raptor he saw no concern, only excitement at the prospect of joining in. He knew their instincts were better than his, so decided to trust them and was soon proven right when Karma easily flew back up, chirping loudly in glee. His gem was such a little menace, he was so proud.
Gluttony wasn't sure if Generosity realised that this specific multiverse was meant as a gathering for the versions of the twins only or not, but it's not like he cared about rules. It was a good thing he did decide to come this time, as he got the pleasure of finding his gem again.
Karma was having a great time. This AU was huge and no matter how far he flew there was no end in sight. There was surprisingly no animals in sight, even though the land looked healthy. Even his role was neutral on the fact, so what happened?
"Having fun, my gem?"
Karma chirped at Gluttony, who he sensed early on and was now flying beside him, easily keeping pace. He was wary of the look on their face though, unsure what it meant. What were they up to?
"What's that look for, little gem? You look far too serious considering you are flying. Aren't you having fun? Perhaps you need some help"
He had little time to react before Gluttony easily snatched him from the air to tickle him in their hold. He squealed in happiness, trying to wiggle out their hold to escape their hands. Thankfully they soon let go and he flew further away, making sure they were not in reach, pouting at them.
"Awww. I'm sorry, little gem. How about we play a game? Would you forgive me then?"
"...Game?"
"The game is to try and avoid both Raptor and me from grabbing you. Does that sound like fun?"
Karma flapped excitedly, dodging to the right on instinct, just before Raptor could grab him.
"BiRdy Fly~"
"Fly away, baby bird. We are coming to get you~"
Karma's smile widened, speeding off as fast as he could. This would be hard but he was sure he could last at least an hour. He was great at flying! He giggled as Gluttony made a grab for him but accidentally flew into Raptor, almost crashing into the ground straight after.
They made such funny faces!
-
Ordeal had lost count on the number of cigarettes he had gone through, just by watching Karma fly with two rather dangerous monsters. His negativity kept spiking and his SOUL raced, watching Karma do frankly insane stunts. At some points they barely avoided the ground, before flying back up in the air with little care, as if they hadn't just given him a SOUL attack.
He shakily took out another cigarette, focused completely on Karmas flying, trying to ignore how unsteady he felt.
"I think you might need to slow down, Ordeal. This can't be good for you"
He grunted to show he heard Falcon but was far too busy watching the sky to form words. He gasped as he saw Karma suddenly drop, speeding to the ground at a frankly horrifying speed. Just before they slammed into the ground Raptor caught them, making him sigh in relief.
Finally turning to Falcon he looked at them deadpan, before grabbing another cigarette, having unintentionally crushed his last one due to stress.
"It's the best way to deal with the negativity I am dealing with. Though I guess you are right. I could try and follow my brothers example"
"..I thought you said he 'destroys AU's' and' toys with others' when stressed?"
Ordeal smirked before walking over to Abstinence, who had chosen to stay as far away from them as possible. He didn't mind as he was more than happy to encourage this behaviour. He did not want another stalker added to the list. His brother was more than enough.
He arrived just as Raptor landed with Karma in their arms, Gluttony silently dropping behind the two.
"Wait. You are joking, right Ordeal?"
"Of course! Why would I want to deal with more mess? My brother does that enough for the both of us"
"That's goo-"
"Although i am currently not in my multivers, so who knows what could happen"
"Ordeal!"
Ordeal smirked, ignoring their pressing questions, snuffing out his cigarette now that he was around a babybones. It was so easy to mess with Falcon, who was surprisingly innocent despite what their brother was like.
Karma couldn't stop giggling into Raptors shoulder, having really enjoyed flying. Raptor soon let him down and he stretched his wings, feeling them ache a bit from the long flight. He brought a wing forward and began to preen them, spotting just how ruffled they had become. He was nearly finished when he felt a hand come towards his wings, making his chirp in admonishment.
He looked back at Raptor, who cooed at him before ruffling their own wings, taking a large step back. Karma was pleased that he had finally met someone who made complete sense to him. He soon went back to his task, surprised when the random Nightmare spoke up.
"So Karma. How have you been?"
Karma chirped inquisitively, looking them over, hoping to get a hint of who they were.
"Sorry. It has been a while. You stayed with me when my brother wanted a babysitter. You should know him as Oneiro"
Karma nodded, now feeling much more relaxed, glad he now understood where that familiar feeling had come from. He slowly started to explain what he had been up to and with encouragement, started to animatedly tell them all about his adventures. They looked to be listening, even if they made some rather odd expressions at some parts. Adults were so weird..
Ordeal nodded along, trying to keep a neutral expression but most likely failing, going by the warning looks Gluttony and Abstinence were giving him. He truly was trying but the sheer absurdity of what they had been up to was too much. He narrowed his sockets when they clearly skipped parts, sensing their emotions curl in defensiveness, before he gently coaxed them to continue.
He felt underqualified for this and this feeling only grew at hearing two rather terrifying words.
"-cute dog called Buddy! I also made a parental bond with Oneiro and then we-"
The words 'Parental bond' echoed in his mind, sounding very much like a death knell, making this whole situation a thousand times worse. Now that he knew his brother had a very solid claim and a bond to follow, it was inevitable they would come. There was no way to delay it, making him glad he hadn't tried to call them. While he knew his brother cared for him, he doubted they would be rational when they arrived, most likely making him collateral in the rage of a parent.
How Oneiro managed to bond with a child and keep them alive was baffling, making him look at Karma in awe and slight terror. He would try and spread the word of his brothers inevitable arrival but he knew not many would take in his words. Guardians weren't the most...sensible beings and he knew arrogance and stubbornness was rampant. He hoped that at least Falcon made it out alive. He would try and tell them to leave but watching Raptor stay near Karma, he knew that wouldn't happen.
-
Gluttony had picked up Karma, when he noticed them start to yawn. They happily cuddled him before eventually napping in his arms. His playful mask shattered and he stared at them with a blank expression.
Flying was a great way to test their reflexes and to see how healthy they were. It was also an excellent way to make them relax and get used to his presence again. Karma did rather well but he wasn't happy with the amount of flight feathers they had. Some were missing or just seemed to be growing back. It seemed many changes would be needed.
" So..who are we killing? "
He smirked at Abstinence's comment, adjusting Karma in his hold once he saw them shiver.
"Not sure yet but hopefully we will find out"
Hopefully it would be Oneiro, so they would no longer have any competition, but they sadly had a pesky bond to deal with. He had no clue how to break it safely but they had all the time to find out.
-
Ordeal was ignored by the creepy Ink and Error, letting him able to study them in peace. He knew it was only because they didn't consider him a threat, as they most likely saw him as something far below their attention. He would have been insulted if he wasn't thankful to not having to deal with more psychotic monsters.
Now, he might not be able to read minds but with his empathy he was just as good. The possessiveness and rage he sensed from them was a familiar mix, making him cringe at just how much like his brother they were. The calculation he spotted was also eerily similar as well, making his stress skyrocket.
There was no way they were going to share the babybones unless some miracle occurred.

*Falcon stressing over Ordeals throw away comments*
Ordeal: *Sudden realisation* Huh, no wonder my brother enjoys doing this. This is kind of funny
-
*Karma saying they have a parental bond with Oneiro*
Ordeal:...My brother, the same one that has nearly dusted Killer for breathing too loud, has managed to bond with a child?...is the Omniverse about to end?! Am I hallucinating?!
-
Falcon: How are you so calm right now, Ordeal?! Aren't you worried?
Oredeal: *Master of unhealthy repression* I just feel things will work out fine really
