Chapter 51-A Reality Check.
Riddhant's Pov.
Three days ago.
The moment I got information about Harsh. I made sure to get his phone calls tapped and get through the other details. Meanwhile Nikita and Varun did a track record on him.
We contacted Kanchan whose number was on the list of Harsh's phone calls as she was one of a close friend of Aaradhya according to Varun. But like Harsh, she was also adamant to hide everything about her from us. Not to forget, her younger brother whose face clearly showed animosity and hatred when he nearly punched me. Nearly, Yeah I was quick to defend myself but we still kept a record on her too.
My tolerance level was freaking me out as I was getting more frustrated day by day. I couldn't even work or sleep. Hell, I even missed my workout.
"She's in Australia." Varun declared as he and his wife stormed in my cabin.
"Here are her flight details." He tossed some papers on the coffee table.
"Fantastic guys but don't you think Australia is such a small place?" I said sarcastically because of my moodiness.
"Read the papers first then show your sarcasm. It also includes her accommodation details." Nikita replied nonchalantly.
"Great, I'll call my travel agent now." I replied flipping the pages and quickly took out my cell phone out.
"Don't you think, you're getting a bit impatient here?" Nikita's words stopped me and I shifted my attention towards her.
"Nikita, I can't waste anymore time. It's almost four days since I last saw her and I don't even know whether she's safe or not." I mumbled.
"Riddhant. I can completely understand your condition but she, herself wants some time. Don't you think you should give her." Nikita reasoned while Varun stood silent.
"Nikita, I just want to make sure whether she's alright or not." I replied.
"Okay Riddhant, as you wish but don't try to force her against her wishes.." Varun uttered interrupting his wife while I nodded.
"Riddhant, we both want to come with you but I'm piled up with work here and Nikita has been advised to take rest as well." Varun murmured apologetically as Nikita is in her first trimester.
"It's completely fine and
thank you for understanding me.
Please. Both of you, handle everything here and if anyone calls then."
"Then we'll tell them that Aaradhya and Riddhant are off to their honeymoon." They cut me off in unison making me chuckle.
"Absolutely correct." I answered and started preparing for Australia.
------------------------------
Two days later.
"Hey buddy, Are you all set to meet your bride?" Varun asked.
"Yeah I am." I replied packing my bag and pulling it.
"Okay then have a good flight and don't forget that I'll kick you if you make my bestie cry again." Nikita threatened, blocking my way.
"Yes ma'am and now, would you please let me go before I miss my flight?" I requested and she moved aside, "Sure".
I placed my bag in the backseat of the car.
"And one more thing if anyone asks you both about us then."
"Aaradhya and Riddhant are off to their honeymoon". They yelled completing the sentence.
"For God's sake, Stop it.
It's the millionth time, you are mentioning the same words. We are here to look after things. You just go to your wife." Nikita groaned.
"Okay I'm sorry. Good bye and Thank you for all your help." I smiled and settled in my car.
"Bye, Take care." Varun spoke while Nikita waved her hand.
"Keep updating us. We'll be worried here." Nikita reminded before Sunil ignited, driving the car off towards the airport.
I reached before time and completed all the formalities.
I settled on my seat as soon as the plane took off.
The plane landed after a halt of four hours in between. Her thoughts were still invading my mind and I couldn't sleep for the rest of journey.
The moment, I trudged out of airport, I directly headed to her hotel address as it was already past midnight and she surely would be at her suite by now, sleeping probably.
Once I reached the hotel, I marched towards the hotel reception to enquire about her room but I was notified that she wasn't present in her room.
I panicked after acknowledging that she was missing from the hotel room at this time of the hour.
I waited for sometime at the hotel lobby but she didn't return. The clock had struck 3:00. I was exasperated by now.
What if she's in some sort of trouble?
What if she met with an accident?
I started searching for her but had no idea about her whereabouts.
'Why do you do this again and again, Aaradhya?' I thought.
After all my failed attempts, I returned to the hotel.
I was already vexed by the time when the sun showed up in the sky but she didn't.
It was six in the morning when I finally strolled to the beach to check again.
To my luck, I finally spotted her standing near the shore with her eyes closed.
I started plodding wearily towards her.
Her hair were messily flowing and her eyes looked sleep deprived.
The moment her eyes fell open, a small smile crept on her beautiful face. She looked a bit creepy but cute. I was already horrified because of her absence from the hotel for the whole night.
Without wasting anytime, I hugged her tightly. I let out a sigh of relief having her in my arms after such a long time. It felt like heavenly. I pulled back and cupped her face tightly.
"Where were you?" I asked her in croaky voice.
She seemed astounded and shaken with my presence.
"Riddhant!" She hummed my name finally.
Her sweet voice felt music to my ears.
"Where were you, the whole night?" I asked her again in fury.
"Tiara!". She muttered slowly making my anger rise to peak.
"Of course, why would you care for some husband of yours who was already awake for the whole night, waiting for you but you were busy partying with that vixen slut, Right?" I roared angrily.
I regretted yelling at her but before I could rectify, her hand lashed out across my face, slapping me hard.
"Don't you dare use such words for my friend, because you have no right to disrespect her or any woman?" Her eyes depicted indignation and offense. I was flabbergasted with her paroxysm.
"You're just another hypocrite and an accusing male,
you wanted to see where I was, I'll just show you. Come with me..." She pulled my hand and dragged me till we reached some hospital.
Even the guards were stunned but they didn't say anything.
She kept dragging me to a secluded section.
"See for yourself. This is the result because of your misconception." She pointed towards the window.
I slightly peaked inside leaving myself startled at the sight in front of my eyes.
'Tiara on the hospital bed'.
She looked worse than I had ever seen.
"This is the outcome of your accusations. You are also responsible for her condition today and she doesn't deserve this." She whined angrily and started her narration.
My eyes widened in shock and I felt remorseful after Aaradhya finished talking. She was silently shedding her tears.
This was the biggest slap, I have ever experienced.
I gawked at the person on the bed again. Tears spilled out in a friction of a second.
It's my fault too, She lost the baby because of me, I'm the reason behind her suffering. I wrecked her life, totally.
I started blaming myself.
I should've been there when she needed me. She was raped and I misunderstood her.
I felt guilty for judging her, without even letting her speak.
I should have trusted her.
I am regretting for indirectly destroying her life.
I don't even deserve her forgiveness. I've even used abusive words characterizing her.
This added fuel to my fire of contrition.
"Sorry, I'm so sorry." I broke down.
"I didn't want to blame you, Riddhant but your non chivalrous attitude left no options for me. You should apologize to her, not me." Aaradhya whimpered.
I kept sobbing on the floor unable to control myself.
The only question which infuriated me was.
"Will she forgive me ever?"
