Chapter 16
Stuart sat up and stretched, looking around. The room he was in was covered in band posters and dirty clothes thrown about on torn-up leather furniture. His clothes weren't among them... where were his clothes? He looked down. He had a baggy shirt on, but besides that...
He gulped. Murdoc.
He laid back down on the soft mattress, thoughts running through his mind faster than he could catch them. He knew now what had happened last night... and he couldn't tell if he regretted it.
They'd come back and stumbled onto Murdoc's bed, kissing quickly and blushing, arms wrapped around each other like the moment would disappear if they let go. One thing led to another, and now 2D was lying next to Murdoc in a telling state of undress.
He didn't know what he felt, but he knew that he loved that date with Murdoc and the night that had followed it.
God, Del would never let him live this down.
"Murdoc..." He nervously whispered, shaking him softly. "Murdoc, wake up..."
"Nh... five more minutes..."
"No, now."
Murdoc sat up quickly, looking over at the other, blushing. "Stuart?"
"Hey, welcome change, calling me my real name... starting to think you didn't remember it..." He punctuated his fading sentence with nervous laughter.
"Well, I'd hope I remembered your real name after-" He looked at Stuart, then back down. "Yeah, that was too soon."
They both stayed in silence, while 2D sat up to pull on his clothes and Murdoc didn't bother. He looked over at the black-haired boy once more. He didn't have his usual smug smirk on his face, this looked more... depressed. Resigned to something.
"You're leaving, right?"
"Do you want me to?"
Murdoc paused and pondered the question. "Not really."
He heard a loud bang in the house, and the slamming bass of a metal song, screaming its way through the house. Murdoc sighed and covered his face.
"That's my brother... you can't leave with him here, anyway. You might as well stay."
With all his clothes on (with the exception of his shirt, which he'd traded for one of Murdoc's sweaters), he laid back down and smiled. "I was planning on it, anyway."
