Chapter Eight: I am Google

"Google...?"

"..."

"Google, wake up already."

"..."

"Wake the Hell up you daft git, we don't have any time to take naps!"

Google groaned as he finally began to wake up from his disturbing dream, clutching his stomach and coughing as he tried to sit up on his own but immediately failed. Rather than just sit and watch him writhe in pain Jack leant forward and gently helped him to sit up, getting the bot to lean his back against some of the cushions and using a flannel to wipe away some of the blood on his face. Google rubbed his eyes as he slowly became fully conscious, blinking slowly as he tried to keep awake whilst the other bot attempted to help by cleaning up the blood that was trailing down his face.

"W-What... Happened...?" Google murmured quietly as he finally looked around properly and concentrated, able to recognise it was (y/n )'s home even with his vision blurry from the lack of glasses. Jack went to speak but hesitated as he turned his gaze to Google's expression, going completely silent as he watched him looking around in confusion for one person in particular.

"You don't remember?" He asked nervously as he held his gaze when Google turned to look at him again with his glasses now on, his original face of concern slowly turning into one of fear as he attempted to think of what he meant.

"Jack, what do you mean? Where's ( y/n ), Jack?" Google leant forward slightly as he questioned him worriedly, beginning to raise his voice as he tried to suppress his urge to start panicking as Jack instantly began avoiding his gaze and hung his head in shame.

"T-They got her... She made me grab you and run right out of there before they got one of us too. I-I didn't think, so I just did as she said and..." The bot began rambling nervously as he fumbled with something in his hands, unable to look Google in the eyes as he started shaking. Google slowly stood to his feet in front of him as he attempted to both control his anger and keep himself standing, his fists trembling as he clenched them tightly and his eyes already alight in a bright red glow as he stared down at Jack.

"Are you telling me... That you l-left her ba—BACK THERE TO DIE?!" He yelled furiously as he grabbed Jack's collar and lifted him, although Jack did most of the work by standing to stop Google from injuring himself further. This time Jack was forced to looked at his expression, his eyes wide in terror as the blood red glow practically blinded his more human eye.

"It was either that or we all got caught, okay?! You being knocked out didn't give us many options, Google." He snapped back angrily through gritted teeth, attempting to get him to understand but failing horrifically. Google paused for a moment as he clenched his jaw, refusing to take the blame for this and shoving Jack harshly backwards; the bot yelped as he thudded to the floor, tripping backwards over the table and hitting his head against the TV stand before he finally curled up on the floor.

"YOU GOT YOUR DAMN MEMORY CORE, NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, YOU HEAR ME?!" Google hissed out the order darkly as he stepped backwards, slightly shocked at what he'd just done but the rage keeping him from feeling guilty just yet. Jack trembled as he laid on the floor and shakily moved his hand up to touch the back of his head, wincing from the pain before moving his hand to look at it again and gulping as he saw blood. Yet it was only now he looked back up to Google, bloodied and beaten on the floor as he moved the memory core around in his other hand.

"I n-never said... I-It was mine." Jack stated in almost a whisper as he held up the small metallic chip that served as a memory core, watching the other bot so he could see it properly. For a moment Google frowned in confusion, not quite understanding before his eyes widened in realisation and the red glow began to dim as he stepped forward and reached out for it curiously.

"Do you mean...?" His words trailed off as the memory core was placed in his hands and he lifted it closer to his face shakily, looking at the code it had on it and going dead silent as he recognised it as his own one that he'd been given when he first woke up. Jack watched with slight fear as Google reached behind his own head, holding up some of his hair to where there was a small slot made specifically for this.

"Be careful, okay? You need to be able to handle your memories when you get them back." He warned nervously, gaining a slight nod from the other mechanical man as he lifted the memory core to look at it one last time before moving his hand around to the back of his head and pushing it into the slot until it was finally clicked in. Instantly his eyes went completely black as his system attempted to download the memories from it, transferring them over so he could finally see them properly and remember. It took a few seconds before Google had his hands clamped over his ears and he grit his teeth as the sudden flow of memories began, his knee's buckling and forcing him to sit back on the sofa as he relived all of the memories he'd had since he was only a child. He couldn't stop himself from screaming as the sudden overflow of emotions he'd felt and things he'd done filled his mind until he suddenly snapped, the screaming cutting off as Google sat perfectly still and his black eyes turned back into his normal ones as the last memory went into his mind. Jack merely watched in shock at what was happening, sitting up shakily and moving forward to look at Google properly; from the sudden look of fear and realisation in his eyes to the way his mouth almost hung open in shock, Google sat there with little to no control over his emotions as he turned his head to face Jack.

"Do you remember, Google?" The Irish bot asked nervously as he moved forward, causing Google to look down at his hands almost in awe before he clenched them, his eyes brimming with tears as he looked up from them to Jack and a genuine smile of hope formed on his face.

"M-My name... Is Mark."
