Why Do You Care?
A/N Yes it has been wayyyyy too long since I've updated and I'm so sorry. I've been dealing with a lot of family and personal issues so thank you for being patient with me. I'm going to try to update once a week, I don't want to make any promises because I have no idea what's to come for me and my schedule. As I get more into the story I will probably update more frequently, especially since summer is coming. Love y'all and hope you enjoy this chapter :)
Trickster gulped, knowing full well that the footsteps were coming towards his cell and were going to take him for testing. He grabbed the rag doll in the corner of his cell and started to sing a lullaby while stroking the dolls hair to try and distract himself. He heard Scott groan, Trickster assumed it was because Scott was trying to fall asleep while he was singing. Scott didn't bother to stop him though, he let the little trickster have his own way.
"Mitchell, it's time for your testing." The guard said monotonously, through the cell door.
"Well then come and get me, you big oaf." Trickster said sassily. This was the guard, he hated. The guy would always try to test his patience. Trickster preferred Johnny way better than any other guard here. Trickster's thoughts faded away when he felt the annoying guard lift him over his shoulder. Before he knew it, Trickster started kicking and screaming, making the guard almost drop him a couple of times but Trickster was a little thing and literally weighed a pound.
Soon enough, they arrived to the testing room and the guard literally threw Trickster on the medical table. Trickster groaned and rolled his eyes.
"Fuck you David." Trickster said, giving him a death glare.
"Ah Mitchell, nice of you too join us." Some lady in a lab coat said.
"And who the fuck are you?" Trickster said sassily while looking at the mysterious lady. She was a tall women, probably because she was wearing heels. She had black hair with gray strands that was in a low pony tail, green eyes and big black glasses that sat on her small and narrow nose.
"My name is Lilly, I'm the doctor administrating your test. " She said sharply, narrowing her eyes on Trickster's small frame. "So you should watch your mouth."
"Pussy." Trickster muttered. "Can we get this started already, I'm bored as hell."
"Of course." Lilly said, rolling her eyes. Lilly went to the counter and picked up an injection that was red and orange, like fire. She also picked up a wipe to clean Trickster's neck. She walked to Trickster on the cool, metal table and started to clean the area on his neck.
"Ooh that's cold." Trickster said while scowling, he immediately brightened up after he thought of something.
"Hey! You like my hickey?!" Trickster said perkily, pointing at it. Lilly paused and raised her eyebrows at the boy.
"Sure." She said uncomfortably. She injected the needle in Trickster's neck and wasn't fazed when he flinched at the pinch.
"So how long is it gonna take to knock me out?" Trickster said, his words dragging at the end while his brown eyes became droopy. "Oh not long at all."
That was the last thing Trickster said before drifting off to sleep. Lilly sighed and looked around the room at her coworkers, she took off her medical gloves and threw them on the counter.
"What a piece of work." She muttered

*Mitch's hallucination starts now*
Trickster found him self sitting on a patch of florescent green grass, he looked around confusedly and then realized he was at his old home. He saw movement in the corner of his eye so he whipped his head in that direction. Trickster gasped in shock, it was a little boy.
It was him.
He had to be 5 at the time. Young Mitch was holding something in his hand while giggling weirdly. Trickster's attention was switched when he heard the sound of talking from inside the house of his childhood. Trickster slowly got up and crept towards the house he hated. He opened the sliding glass door and saw his birth givers talking to each other.
"Mike, he's been acting crazy lately. I don't even know who my kissyboy is anymore." Nel said while letting few tears slip down her cheeks. Mike grabbed his wife's arm.
"Nel, it's probably just a phase-" Mike's words got cut short when they heard Young Mitch yell for them. As Mike and Nel starting heading outside, Trickster followed them.
"Mama! Look what I did!" Young Mitch said while holding in his hands... A dead bird. Nel gasped while Mike stared in shock.
"Mitchell!" Nel cried out. But Young Mitch didn't seem to care as he was smiling down at his work.
Suddenly, the scene flashed to the doctor's office. Trickster saw the younger him, sitting on the medical table while Mike, Nel, and the doctor were standing around it. Trickster starting to listen in on the conversation.
"I'll inject him with this to make him forget what he has done, it'll be up to him to decide whether or not he wants to go down that same path again." The doctor explained
"Do it please, we want our boy back." Nel said, smiling hopefully. Mike nodded in agreement, looking at Younger Mitch who was swinging his legs back and forth.
"There is of course a downside to this." The doctor said doubtfully.
"What is it, doctor?" Mike asked fearfully.
"If I give him this shot, you have to give him up. He can't come home with you." The doctor said sadly. Mike and Nel looked at each other in shock but their looks changed to sadness. Nel nodded at her husband, knowing what he was thinking.
"Do it. He deserves his best chance." Mike said, smiling at his son who had no idea what was going on. The doctor nodded and went over to the young boy, she injected the serum in his arm and the boy slowly went to sleep.
"I think you should go now, we'll take it from here." The doctor said while watching as Mike held his sobbing wife while he had tears streaming down his face too.
"Make sure he's safe and healthy." Mike said to the doctor. The doctor nodded and looked at the couple sadly as they walked out of the room.
Trickster felt a few unshed tears in his eyes. He wasn't crazy because his parents left him, he was crazy before then and they tried to help him. Trickster watched his young self as the scene started to change again.
He was at an unfamiliar house, Trickster saw a woman writing on a paper. He slowly realized that the woman was the doctor from his younger self but she was much older. He then looked at her features and realized it was the doctor that administrated his test. Trickster went closer to the woman and gasped in anger at what he saw. It was the letter to the asylum, she was writing it. Trickster gasped again at what he saw next.
The doctor signed it, Mike and Nel Grassi.

Trickster woke up thrashing around and his eyes landed on Lilly while guards were trying to restrain him.
"It was you! You put me here! I'm going to murder you! I want to see my parents!" Trickster screamed in anger and sadness as he fought against the guards. Lilly looked at him in shock as she had no idea that that was going to be his hallucination. He managed to break free so he ran over to the doctor and strangled her. Before he could do deadly damage, he felt a needle puncture in his back. He let out a strange noise and felt into the arms of a guard.

Trickster woke up with a groan, he had a huge migraine.
"Rough day?" Trickster heard Scott's voice ask.
"What do you think dumbass? Everyday here is a bad day." Trickster said, rolling his eyes.
"Hey, I heard you strangled the doctor in there." Scott said excitedly.
"Yeah, so what?" Trickster asked
"Nothing it's just, I think it's badass." Scott said. "Man, I'd love to fight someone, it's been too long."
Trickster let out a giggle and for once it didn't annoy Scott. In fact, he liked the melodic sound of his laugh.
"So uh, are you okay? Y'know after the whole testing thing." Scott asked, putting his head against the wall of his cell.
"Why do you care?" Trickster asked confusedly.
"I don't know." Scott said honestly
"I think I'm starting to like you, Scotty." Trickster teased
"I think I'm starting to like you too, Mitchell." Scott teased back.
"Hey! Shut up!" A guard yelled out
"Oh fuck off Drew!" They yelled in unison, making them both laugh maniacally.
