The Return

IM STILL ALIVE, I JUST HAVE A BIT OF WRITERS BLOCK:)

______

It had been many years since Crowley had seen Aziraphale. He had spent months missing the angel to the point that he had considered walking into a church and putting his hand in..... No he couldn't think about that anymore, he had to keep going even though it was hard.

He had tried so many things to forget the pain, alcohol, drugs and even moving out of the city but none really worked that was until he finally found some peace in a cottage by the sea in the south downs. He had moved out of his car and into the house which was perfect for him.

It had a great big garden for his plants and a most beautiful view to which he flew across many times during the week just to clear his mind.

It was one of these flights that he was returning from when he felt his wards being disturbed, he landed on the ground and tucked his wings away walking towards the disturbance and what he saw broke his heart.

His angel. Aziraphale was lying on the ground all bloodied up, the thought of leaving him there crossed the demons mind but it quickly vanished, Aziraphale wouldn't leave him so he wouldn't leave Aziraphale no matter how angry he was.

Crowley made a hole in his wards and lifted the angel up and through them, closing them behind him. Crowley carried the angel through the front door and through the house, he placed the angel on his bed and just stood there staring at him. He couldn't believe that he was looking at him, that he was there at all.

Crowley snapped out of his trance and went into his bathroom and put some water in a bowl and took the softest towel he could find. He walked back into the bedroom and sat down on a chair next to the angel. The demon begun to clean up the angel not caring that his hands were quickly becoming gold with his friends blood.

It took a while before the angel looked even half presentable, Crowley was exhausted, he wiped his brow not caring that he now had a line of blood on his forehead. Crowley was startled when the angel woke up and grabbed his hand looking absolutely terrified.

"They're coming" he said before passing out.

Crowley ran outside as he felt his wards being challenged, he opened the front door to see both Michael and Uriel standing just beyond the wards.

"Hand him over demon!" shouted Michael

Crowley walked up to them cautiously, his hands still clarted in blood.

"What did you do to him?"

"He went against heaven, we did what we had to"

"I suggest you leave, now" said Crowley as he turned to walk away

"He deserved what he got" said Uriel

Crowley stilled, he turned to face them with one hell of an angry face, his eyes begun glow as the anger took hold of him. The wards around the property fell and Crowley begun to float as winds of power floated around him.

"HE DESERVED BETTER!"

Crowley lifted his hand and snapped his fingers and destroyed both the archangels, not discorporated, destroyed.

The demon stopped when he realised what he had just done, he had killed two of his old siblings. Crowley landed back on his feet and stilled for a moment mourning them, even if he did hate them, they were still his family once.

Crowley composed himself and began his walk back to the house raising his wards to protect his angel.

He walked back into the house and into the bedroom to see Aziraphale still lying there past out. Crowley noticed that his hands were still covered in the angels golden blood and so his walked into the bathroom and rolled up his dark red shirt sleeves, which also revealed his old track marks, the glanced at them and sighed before running the hot water and cleaning his hands.

About five minutes later and his hands were almost scrubbed raw as he got rid of the angels blood. He walked back into the bedroom drying his hands with a towel when he saw Aziraphale sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Welcome back sleeping beauty"

Aziraphale looked at the demon and noticed the towel which had flecks of gold blood seeping into it.

"Did you hurt yourself?"

"No Its yours, you were a mess when you got here"

"Oh, well Thank you" he said attempting to stand up

"Hey woah, don't, you're still weak" said the demon as he sat the angel back down

Crowley went to walk away but Aziraphale grabbed his hand and was looking at the old track marks on his arm.

"Crowley...."

"Don't worry about it" he said removing his hand from the angels grip "You want a drink?"

Aziraphale was immediately worried about the demon but decided now was not the time to talk about him. "Please, If its not too much trouble"

Crowley walked over to his dresser which had a bottle of wine and two glasses sitting on it.

"How'd you find me?" he asked as he poured the wine, his back turned to the angel.

"I didn't, I used the globe and just thought about you....Where are we?"

Crowley sighed and said "The south downs....my place"

Crowley handed one of the glasses to the angel and sat on the chair next to the bed.

"You moved out of London?"

"Yeah, got too noisy for me, plus every where I went reminded me of...." he chuckled looking at the angel

Aziraphale realised what the demon was about to say and glanced at him.

"How long have I been gone?"

"About three years"

"It didn't seem that long.....Michael and Uriel, they...." said Aziraphale as he started to panic.

"Hey they're gone, I delt with them" said the demon as he put his hand on top of the angel to settle him.

"What? How?"

"Doesn't matter just focus on healing" said Crowley as he got up to leave the room.

"It was all lies, all of it, I never meant to leave you Crowley"

"Yet you did"

"Metatron put something in the coffee he gave me, If I had been in my right mind I never would have left you"

Crowley never thought Heaven would go that far but if what the angel was saying was true then he had no reason to still be angry with him.

"How....how can I possibly believe you?" said the demon who, unknown to the angel, had watery eyes.

"I know you have no reason to but have I ever lied to you?"

Crowley sighed he was right, Aziraphale had never lied to him just as he had never lied to Aziraphale. That was the one and only rule he always followed 'never lie to Aziraphale'.

Crowley looked at the angel and asked "Why didn't you come back then?"

"Metatron locked me away in the cells, I couldn't leave, I'm sorry Crowley, truly"

Crowley sighed once again and looked at the angel "Rest Aziraphale" he said before leaving the room.

The next day

Crowley had been up all night sitting on his sofa just thinking and drinking. He was thinking about what Aziraphale had told him, Crowley had encountered the substance he mentioned before, it worked on demons in the same way. Hell however had no problem using it on demons. He never for one moment thought heaven would use it.

Crowley just sat there, he was now thoroughly drunk and very bored, he glanced out the window to see the sun rising over the hills and so he sobered up and put on the kettle.

Even though Crowley was still pissed off, it had been redirected towards the Metatron not Aziraphale. As far as the angel was concerned he had been forgiven by the demon, now he had to find out if his feelings were one-sided after all.

Crowley had made a nice breakfast for the angel, he brought up the tray to the bedroom. He walked in and saw Aziraphale just waking up.

"Morning angel"

Aziraphale was stunned that was the first time he had been called that since he returned.

"Good morning"

"Here" said the demon as he placed the tray on the angels lap and opened the curtains.

"Crowley you didn't have to do this....but I very much appreciate it"

"No problem" he said sitting down on the chair next to the bed with his own very black coffee.

Crowley was about to talk when his phone begun to ring. He fished it out of his pocket and saw that the caller ID said 'Kid A' which is what he had called Muriel.

"What you needing kid?"

'I felt a massive surge of power'

"That would have been me, don't worry about it"

'Oh alright then, How are you Mr Crowley?'

"I'm good kid you?"

'I'm great and so is the bookshop'

"Good"

'Oh I need to go, goodbye Mr Crowley'

"Bye kid"

Crowley hung up the phone and looked at Aziraphale who was staring at him.

"What?"

"You have her number in your phone?" smiled Aziraphale

"I....Oh shut up"

Aziraphale smiled and chuckled a little.

"I missed you Crowley, so very much"

"I....I missed you too"

"I know its not my place but your arms..."

"Its a long story Angel"

"I want to know, will you tell me?"

"The first year after you left I went down a dark road and I drank too much, did an array of drugs and well, I don't remember most of it, its kinda hazy, but I'm good now, promise"

"I'm sorry, its my fault I...."

Crowley took Aziraphale's hand and said "This was not your fault, I certainly don't blame you, so don't blame yourself okay?"

"What did you mean when you said you delt with Michael and Uriel?"

Crowley's eyes went wide, he was hoping the angel wouldn't ask.

"Well I may have killed them" he mumbled

"You what?...How?"

"A demon can do a lot of things when their fuelled by rage"

"Why were you angry?"

"They said that you deserved what you got...when you got here you were practically covered in blood...."

"That must have been awfully frightening"

"I thought you were dead angel"

"I might have been if you weren't there, you saved me Crowley, thank you"

"I....Your welcome....so what are you going to do now?"

"Honestly I haven't the faintest idea"

"You could, I mean you don't have to, but you could.....stay here.....with me....If you want, no pressure"

Aziraphale placed his hand on the demons cheek and said "I'd love to stay here with you Crowley, we've lost three years together, I don't want to miss another second with you...I love you Crowley"

Crowley sunk into the angel touch and replied "I love you too angel, always have"
