Chapter 15

"Everyone knows the best place for a place for a clandestine meeting in London is, and always has been St.James Park"

*St.James Park* *Morning,
"They say the ducks are so used to being fed by secret agent that they've developed Parvlovian reactions to them"

"The Russian cultural attache' black bread is particularly sought after by the more discerning dock"

"They have been meeting here for quite some time"

*Imagine Julian is sitting with them and that it's bigger than this bench*

"You're sure it was the Antichrist?" Julian asked as he, Crowley and Aziraphale were siting on the bench together.
Making Crowley scowled, "I should know..." he starts to say as nearby Lucy was sitting on the grass with a young girl.
Weaving a couple of flowers together, "I delivered the baby" Crowley stated.
Then he immediately realise that he said the wrong choice of words to them, "Well..."
"not, I delivered the baby, you know?" Crowley said, hoping that the two realised what he meant.
"You mean, handed him over?" Julian suggested.
"Yeah,that" Crowley replied.
"An American diplomat. Really?" Aziraphale asked and the demon nod his head.

"As though Armageddon was a cinemagraphic show you wish to sell in as many countries as possible" he said.

"The Earth and all the kingdom thereof" Crowley confirmed.
"It doesn't suprise me" Julian commented, that he knew that something like this could happen one day.

"We will win"

Making the two men turn their heads, to look at Aziraphale.
"Of course" the angel added, making the two raised an eyebrow or two.
"You really believe that?" Crowley asked, couldn't believe that he believes that.
That the Heavens will win this, and that everything will be okay.
"Obviously" Aziraphale replied as he went and straighten his posture.
"Heaven will finally triumph over Hell. It's all going to be rather lovely" he states, describing what hopefully will happen in the end.

With confident and a smile on his face, "Out of interests..."

"...how many first-class composes do you let have in Heaven?" Crowley asked out of the blue, a random question.
"Because Mozart's one of ours" he stated.

"Beethoven, Schubert. Uh, all of the Bachs I think are yours too, aren't they?" said Julian as he turn his head to look at the demon.
"They've already written their music" Aziraphale points out to the both.
"And you'll never hear it again. No more Albert Hall. No more Glyndebourne. Just celestial harmonies" said Crowley.
"And that's just the start of what you'll lose if you win" Julian stated before he start to list off things.
"No more falscinating little restaurants where they know you. No gravlax in dill sauce. No more bookshop" he listed.
"No more Hope" Crowley added as the girl and Lucy made their way over to them.
"Hello, darling!" he greeted as Aziraphale was taking in this new information.

"She made something for you two" Lucy inform them as Eve held some flower crowns in her hands.
"Let's try it on" said Crowley as the angel tenses a little.
So the demon bow his head the girl plop a flower crown on his head.

"The four of them all remember that fatal day, when she came into their lives"

*Bookshop*
It's one of this nights where just the demon and angel would what you call, hanging out.
Crowley bid farewell to Aziraphale before heading to the front door of the shop.
When he reach the entrance, door open
He was about to step out, when...the demon notice something there.
His gaze drifted to the floor as behind the dark sunglasses, his eyes narrow in confusion.

"Angel"

Catching Aziraphale attention, to stop what he was doing.
Which was sorting out the books by his desk.
"What is it? I'm kind of busy right now" the angel ask him, wondering why he was calling his name.

"There's a baby on your doorstep"

Causing Aziraphale to freeze, unsure on whatever he heard that right.
If he heard what the demon just said just now, "I'm sorry" said Aziraphale.

"There's a baby, on your doorstep" Crowley repeated as he was still staring down at something on the ground.

Aziraphale straightened himself up and removed his reading glasses, before...

Footsteps..Footsteps

...making his way over to where Crowley was standing.
"Now Crowley, what is..." the angel started to say as he made it to the front door.
But Aziraphale stopped talking all of the sudden as he now sees what the demon was talking about...looking down at the cardboard box.

*Inside*
Door Close

Aziraphale and Crowley went back further into the bookshop as in the angel arms, was...an baby?!
Loosely bundled in a warm blanket as the baby squirmed with half closed eyes and little, tiny fingers clutching the fabric covering their body.

"Okay, Aziraphale, Crowley..."

"Why did you call us here?" Julian asked as he and Lucy were standing in the shop.
"I was in the middle of something. So the quickly we do this the..." he ranted on, before he stopped talking once he sees the two of them.
The both of them froze on the spot as in front of them, in the angel arms...was an baby?
"W-What? Is that...?" Lucy stutter out in complete confusion.
"Yep" Crowley replied as the angel walk over to an armchair.
"But why do you have a baby, here?" Julian begin to question as Aziraphale sat down.
"One of you need to explaining to us what's going on" he said as the man look at both the angel and the demon, for answers.
"They were left on my doorstep" Aziraphale answered.

Gasp!

Julian stared in disbelief as Lucy have her hand over her mouth.
"But I don't get why here? I mean, a bookshop, for goodness sake" Aziraphale questions himself.
Why would anyone leave a baby here, here in an unlike place.
"I agree with you, Aziraphale. Why didn't they take the baby to a hospital, or a church" Lucy wondered.

Meanwhile the demon was standing there, scratching his nose with one and with the other hand in his trouser pocket in thought.
Then he spoke, "Ah, yes..."
"Consecrated ground--perfect for keeping away the child eating monsters who lurk these haunted streets" Crowley said out of complete nowhere.
Making the three immediately turn to him, "Crowley. That isn't funny" Lucy told the demon off.
"Ooh, and cults, of course. They love sacrificing babies" the demon continue to speak until someone interrupted him.

"Crowley"

With a firm voice, causing the demon to complete shut up.
"Getting back on track, the mother must have left the baby here, while somehow the two of you noticing didn't notice" said Julian as he was getting the conversation back on track.
"Anyway, she must be a newborn. Maybe a day or two at most" Lucy stated as she now held the baby in her arms, comforting the girl.
Making Crowley raised an eyebrow, "How do you know it's a girl?" he asked.
"Because the note says so" Lucy answered.
Caused the demon to become confused, "What note?" Crowley asked and the woman nod her head towards the basket.
So Crowley check it out, "But still. Leave a newborn here on the doorstep" said Aziraphale.
Once he got to the basket, Crowley kneel down and got the note out to take a closer look at the note.
"But oh, she's just so tiny" Aziraphale remarked as he and Julian were looking down at the baby held in Lucy arms.
"She is" the woman agree with the angel on that.
"I think the reason she was left here, because her birth mother thought a eccentric shop owner like yourself would find the baby" Julian said as he turns to look at the angel.
"She thought her child would be safe here, at the very least" he tells him.
"He's right, Aziraphale. Your ship does a safe place feel to it" said Lucy.
"I do? Really?" the angel asked, making sure he's heard right and the woman nod her head.
"But I'm quite certain I've been keeping my angelic presence discreet. So I don't see how the humans could have picked up on any oddities" Aziraphale questioned.

Chuckle

"I don't think it's because of you being a angel, Aziraphale. You are a kind and caring person" Lucy stated.
Causing a slight blush to go to the angel cheeks, "Anyway..."
"The child was abandoned and was abandoned here..." Crowley started to say bluntly making Julian rolled his eyes.
And Lucy shaking her head in disappointment, "We need to do something...with it" he pointed out.
"It's not a it, she's an she" Lucy reminded the demon.
"Whatever" Crowley replied with a tut
"He's right, we need to do something with her" said Julian.
"Well then, we can think of something better to call the baby than it" Aziraphale commented.

Sigh

"Uh, Aziraphale. I don't suppose you have any baby clothes around here. I think she would thank you very much for something warm and cozy" Lucy said to him.
"Of course I don't. I'm not a baby shop" Aziraphale replied , sounding a bit sarcasm in his voice.
"Right" said Lucy as she went and tried to warm the baby up by herself.
"One second" said Aziraphale feeling guilty about he just said.
Realising that there was something he could do, click
A soft onesie appeared on the table, "Thanks Aziraphale" Lucy thank the angel as Julian pick the clothes up.
He helped the woman out as click, a baby bottle full of milk appeared in Crowley hand.
The two had change the baby into the onesie before handling her to the demon, who held the bottle to the baby's mouth.
Then without any fuss or warning, the child quickly took the bottle.
"There you go" Crowley muttered in such a kind and caring voice, surprising the other three in the room by this gentle nature.
Causing the demon to slowly raised his head, noticing the silence in the shop.
"What?" Crowley asked.
"Nothing. It's just, you're very good with the baby" Julian mentioned.
"What, me?" the demon asked and the fallen angel nod his head.

Laughs

"I'm a demon, we don't do kids" Crowley retorted, still feeding the baby as he holds her.
Till the last drop, burp!
Crowley patted the baby back, "Of course not" said Julian.
"Okay. We done the milk for food, clothes for warm. All we need to do is her health" said Lucy.
"You're going to have to do the blessings and the miracles, Aziraphale. To make sure she isn't sick" Crowley said to the angel.
His eyes widened "Oh, yes, that willl have to get done" Aziraphale replied with a nod of his head.

A moment later...

Now the baby currently sleeping in a crib made by Julian, "Okay. Now we really need to discus what to do with her" he said.

"Uhhhhh...."

"We?" Crowley asked, making sure the demon heard right.
Wrinkled his nose as look at the fallen angel in disgust and disbelief.
"There's no we, fallen angel" Crowley tells him.
Making the angel become curious, wondering why the demon said that.
"Why not?" Aziraphale questioned.
"She was put on your doorstep, angel. So she's your responsibility" Crowley pointed out the obviously to him.
"But..." Aziraphale start to say, but the demom put a finger up to silence the other man.
"Why should I? She's only human after all" Crowley remarked before he went and walked over to the shop floor.

Door Open..Door Close

Leaving only three plus the baby left, "That's rude" Lucy commented.
"But he's right. About being your responsibility" said Julian.
"Not you too, Julian" Aziraphale replied with a sigh
"But not anything else" Julian stated.
"I think for now she stays here tonight with you, Aziraphale. And then we decided tomorrow what our next plan of action" Lucy tells him, coming with a plan on what to do.

Both of the angel and fallen angel agree with her, that they should rest of it and see what happens next.
So Aziraphale leads the two over to the shop door, saying their goodbyes before...

Door Close

...leaving the angel alone with the child.

Time Later...

Aziraphale was just sitting there, in his armchair reading as the baby was nearby, fast asleep in the crib.

Then...

The angel stopped reading, realising on what he just do.
He put the book stop on the side before Aziraphale went and picked up the phone.
Start dialing in a number, crying
Aziraphale stop and turn his head, seeing that the baby had suddenly awoken up and started crying
"Please, stop. I promise you that I will find a good home for you" said Aziraphale as he continue to dial a number.

"Hello, you've reached the emergency services"

The angel was about to speak, when he unknownly stopped.
His eyes landed on the crib again as the man could see arms reaching out.
Desiring comfort and someone to love her, "Hello?"

Aziraphale slowly lowered the phone down, voice..voice..Click!

The present...

A smile appear on Eve face, "We've got 11 years, and then it's all over" Crowley stated.
Aziraphale continue to stay silence as the demon got up from the bench, snap his fingers making the crown disappeared.
