The figure in the shadows sighed and disappeared into the darkness. Putting a hand up to the earpiece in her ear, she pressed a button and adjusted the microphone.
"Target spotted with three normals at G13. Black four wheel drive. Toyota. Over." She spoke softly, a hand over her mouth as she picked through the fallen branches behind the petrol station.
"Good. Return now. That's all we need to know."
"Roger."
Without looking back, she blended into the trees, not making a sound.

I cursed under my breath as leapt out of the car. I didn't have to check to know that whoever was watching us was already gone.
Clenching my fists, I gritted my teeth, my eyes boring into the ground.
I was too slow. I have to be faster.
Faster. I must be-
"Hey... What's wrong, Levi?"
I looked up as Brandon leaned out of the window, concerned.
Should I tell him...?
"O-Oh! Um... That was... I thought I saw someone... but it was just my imagination..." I laughed and scratched my head. "It's ok, there was no one there..." But there was though...
Brandon frowned, as if he were about to say something, but turned back to face the front.
"So, we're getting hot chocolate and water, right?" His voice sounded oddly strained.
"Um, yeah..." I turned to look at Aiden who hadn't said a word for a while. "Aiden, do you want to come with me to get the food?"
Blinking in surprise at the sudden attention, he blushed and pushed his glasses further up his nose.
"Ah... Yeah, so what flavors did you pack?"
I tilted my head back, thinking, placing my hand on my chin.
"Hmm... I think there was chicken, beef... seafood... and pork? Something like that..."
"Ok, so then we'll do one of each." Aiden opened the car door and took out the bag with the noodles. Grabbing one of each kind, he then replaced the bag and closed the boot. He walked with the pots and disappeared into the station shop.
Shoving my hands into my pockets, I pulled my wallet out to check how much I had. Sighing when I only saw two five dollar bills and some coins, I shoved it back into my pocket only to be hit on the head by a flying object.
I scowled at Brandon who had thrown the object.
"What was that for!?"
He nodded at the wallet on the ground.
"Use that. You never know when you'll need emergency money." There was a look in his eyes that I didn't quite understand, but before I could puzzle over it for longer, it disappeared.
Frowning, I bent down and picked up the brown pouch. Opening it up, I saw that there were two fifty dollar bills, along with a twenty and a ten.
Well, that's Brandon for you. Ever the rich kid.
Smirking I clasped the wallet tightly.
"So you don't mind if I steal it all? I'll keep it all for myself..." I had meant it in a joking way, but Brandon's expression didn't falter.
"If it means keeping you safe, then yes."
There was that look again. Why does he look so serious?
There was a pregnant pause before I laughed.
"Keep me safe? I'm sure we all know that I can protect myself; if the six years of karate have anything to say about it. There's a black-belter right here." I turned around and started walking to the station where Aiden was probably struggling with the hot pots of noodles. "Don't worry. When there's trouble, I'll be the one protecting you."
Laughing, I threw the wallet up, before catching it in my hand, just missing the unreadable expression that flickered over Brandon's face.

"How's Addison?" I asked Brandon as he joined us on the asphalt next to the car, grabbing one of the two other steaming pots of noodles.
"Still sleeping. She looks exhausted." He frowned as he looked back at the car. "She looks too exhausted. She's usually an early riser, and doesn't need much sleep, and yet for her to be so..." He trailed off, expression shadowed.
Now that I was out of the car and had food in my stomach, my brain was going into overdrive.
What happened to Addison? And what was with my motion sickness?
I didn't usually get motion sickness, no matter how bad the driver was, but this time it was borderline life threatening.
I didn't get to think for much longer because the car door slid open and Addison stumbled out.
Aiden was immediately at his feet, helping his twin sit down and passing her the steaming pot of noodles. They were speaking softly, though it looked like Addison wasn't speaking much at all. I could only hear drifts of their conversation from where I sat next to Brandon.
"... I'm not really... Hungry..." It sounded like it took all her energy to utter those words.
Under the harsh glare of the store light, the bags under Addison's eyes were suddenly evident. Her face was drawn and her cheeks looked hollow. It was a stark contrast from the oval faced, and healthy tinted Addison from a little over three hours ago.
An indescribable feeling stirred in my stomach as I turned back to my noodles.
What was going on?
I was sure it was just a coincidence but there was an unsettling feeling that spread through me and no matter how much I tried to forget, Addison's pale, drawn face kept haunting me.
~*~
I blinked as I saw the sun peek over the canopy of trees. It was already morning and I hadn't slept a wink. Whether it was because of adrenaline or what had happened to Addison, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't fall asleep. And I wasn't even tired.
We had stayed at the petrol station for the night, all of us sleeping inside the car, well apart from me.
During the early hours of the morning, I had sat, trying to come up with some plan or another.
How would we get in? Distraction? Disguise? Get out? Avoid security and the inhabitants?
The questions were endless. And even though I had spent the rest of the night trying to think, all I had was a blank. Nothing. Zilch. Nada.
And I was starting to feel hungry.
In front of me, Brandon started to stir as Aiden returned from the bathroom. It didn't seem like any of us had gotten much sleep last night.
Beside me, Addison gave a light snore, her pale face a little better after a night's sleep.
Well everyone except Addison.
I smiled a bit at that, but it was quickly quenched. Addison didn't usually sleep much at all, but after that... what was it? The seizure she seemed so tired...
My stomach gave a growl and I blushed slightly. It seemed that the noodles from last night weren't enough.
"Do you... want to stop at MgRonalds or something? Or maybe Moonbucks?" Brandon's sleepy voice drifted over as I blushed harder.
"Y-Yeah... that'd be nice." I turned to Aiden who looked like he was on the verge of falling back asleep. "What about you, Aiden? You hungry?"
"Mmm..." came a soft mumble. "Yeah... sure..."
Brandon groaned as he pulled the reclined backrest up and stretched. Fumbling around in his pockets for the keys, he glanced at Addison in the rear-view mirror.
"Is Addison still asleep? Should we wake her?"
I glanced at her sleeping figure which seemed to finally be sleeping soundly.
"Let her sleep. We can just buy her a croissant and coffee for when she wakes up."
Nodding, Brandon started the car and backed out of the parking spot in the almost empty petrol station.
We passed by a MgRonalds, so we decided to just stop there instead. After asking Aiden for his order, Brandon and I hopped out of the car and headed over to the MgCafe area. After ordering the items, we walked over to the waiting area and took a seat at a nearby table. I was studying the receipt in my hands, checking the prices and if we had the correct order.
Whoa, this stuff is expensive.
I looked up, about to ask Brandon how much money he had left when I saw that his face had paled intensely, and his mouth was cracked open. I opened my mouth to ask him what was wrong when he spoke.
"L-Levi... We... We have to go!" He stood up and grabbed my hand, dragging me out of the building. I was about to protest when I saw it. Up on one of the t.v's set on the wall was a picture of me and a description.

My stomach turned cold, food forgotten, as all eyes in the room turned on me. I could tell that some people were already making the connection between me and the person in the photograph, even though it was two years old.
Heart pounding and breathing shallow, I fled the building with Brandon in tow. I had only one thought running through my head.
Why am I now a wanted fugitive?
