"All my better days are the ones spent with you," - Perry Poetry

-

Laying in bed flipping through the channels with her hair up in her jumbo-black bonnet matching it with her black silk night gown. Amelia yawned to herself before checking the time on their clock to see that Desmond would be pulling up at any moment.

She was bored out of her mind once Taylor drifted off to sleep and was starting to crave and miss her husband dearly.

Usually during this time she would have Kelsi to keep her entertained, but here lately Kelsi has been more busy than usual. She knew Kelsi had her own life to live, but she did miss her bestfriend and would occasionally text her that she did which Kelsi always responded claiming she missed her as well.

Reaching for her phone on the nightstand, she went to Kelsi's contact name and called her. She listened to the phone ring three times before she was met with heavy breathing, confusing her completely. "Hello?"

"Hey Mel, everything alright?" Kelsi questioned after a brief moment of silence.

"Um yeah, but I think I should be asking you that. Is everything okay over there Kels?" Amelia asked sitting up becoming alert:

Looking down at the guy who was giving her head, she bit her lip to stop the moan that was trying to escape so Amelia wouldn't hear her as she nodded her head even though Amelia couldn't physically see her. "Yeah—shit! Everything is good. Can—Can I call you back? Let me call you back!"

And with that she hung up leaving Amelia confused once again. "Well okay then, love you too."

Flipping the covers back she got out of bed and made her way into the kitchen to reheat his food in the stove for him. Taking the dinner she made out of the microwave, she turned the oven on a low tempature and sat his food inside before she started setting up his plate and area at the dinner table.

In the middle of grabbing him a cup, she smiled when she heard the sounds of the locks turn. Quickly sitting the cup down, she walked over to the door to greet him with a big smile on her face.

Watching as he tiredly entered the house her heart almost jumped out of her body when his entire tired demenor changed the moment he laid eyes on her. "Hey baby, whatchu doing up?" He questioned as he embraced her into a hug being sure to grab her ass and kiss her sweetly.

"I waited up for you so we could talk and so I could make sure your food was warmed up by time you got here." She explained as they walked over to the dinning room.

Kissing her on the lips once again, he smiled and took his seat while Amelia continued getting his food ready. Sitting his cup of cran-apple juice in front of him, she checked on his food in the oven to see if it was hot enough before pulling it out.

Sitting his plate down in front of him along with his silverware, Desmond thanked her and watched as she took a seat beside him to keep him company. "You really don't gotta stay up with me man, I know you tired as hell especially after what all happened today."

Waving him off, Amelia crossed her arms on the table. "Des, I'm fine. I already told Lamar I wasn't coming into work tomorrow so I can get the rest I need tomorrow and spend more time with Taylor. But anyways have you heard from Tiffany yet?"

Rolling his eyes, he sighed. "Nope and I'm starting to get pissed off."

Reaching her hand up, she touched the side of his face making him look at her while she looked up at him with her captivating eyes. "Don't stress over Tiffany, at the end of the day we got Taylor and as long as she is with us she's gonna be okay. So relax alright?"

Nodding his head, he stared at her a little longer before closing his eyes and letting out a sigh. "I'm just simply tired Mel, tired of trying with her and giving her chances she doesn't even deserve. I know Tiffany loves Taylor, but I know she doesn't love her more than she loves herself and that's the sad part about it."

"It is sad but at the end of the day she still has us. I love that little girl so much Des and she's not even biologically mine, but she has became my baby and I will do whatever to protect her." She stated feeling herself getting emotional. "When I saw her hurting today it really reminded me of myself back with Jay. The look of sadness and fear embedded in her eyes just made me want to do whatever to make her feel better and to assure her that things we're gonna be okay." She admitted.

"Well I really appreciate that, she needed someone and sadly her own damn mama couldn't even be there for her." He spat still pissed at Tiffany. "I called her multiple times and left messages about what happened, I never got a text or a call back but she can post on social media and all that shit. I can't even really express how tired I am of Tiffany, if she doesn't want to be a mother .. why can't she just say that?"

"We'll never truly understand her thinking, but all that matters now is Taylor and her well-being."

He nodded before asking, "How is she?" Referring to Taylor.

When he got the call about Taylor the anger and the amount of pain he was feeling was out of this world. He felt bad for his baby and hated that she had to experience the ugly side of this world at such a young age.

The world almost saw the side of him nobody wanted to see, but Amelia being who she is calmed him down, assured to him that everything was okay and was handled and as her husband he trusted her word for it.

But just the thought of those girls hurting her broke his heart.

"She's doing better, when I got her from the school she wasn't trying to talk much and I understood and just let her be for a moment. But when we got home I knew I couldn't leave her in that state, so I did whatever I could to turn this day around for her." Amelia explained already smiling at the thought of what all happened causing Desmond to do the same.

Eating some of his food, he nodded. "What all did you guys do?"

When her face lit up with excitement, he slightly smiled as she began running down the details of their eventful day. "I did her hair, she got a facial, and I also did her nails. Then we watched all the Disney movies she could think of. I got her favorite foods for her to eat, we danced, we sung songs and I just simply reminded her how much we all loved her, reminded her of her beauty, her worth and how often the world can try to knock us down, but we gotta keep standing tall and to not let them win. And tomorrow I told we were gonna go out and I was thinking about taking her shopping then to aquarium or something." She shrugged.

Just staring at Amelia in a daze the longer she talked, Desmond felt himself literally falling for her even more as each word left her mouth.

Reaching his hand over he grabbed a hold of hers and pulled her up before moving his chair back. Pulling her into his lap sideways, he wrapped his arms around her before placing a kiss on her lips. "Thank you."

Looking at him weirdly, she pulled back. "Whatchu thanking me for?"

"For being amazing man and just for simply being who you are."

Smiling at his words, she pecked him on the lips before standing back to her feet. "Well, you're welcome baby. But gon' head and finish eating and I'll start your shower for you."

"Let's take a bath together instead."

Blushing, she walked off doing as he wanted leaving him in the dinning room by himself.

Feeling his phone vibrate in his pocket he stopped eating and pulled it out to see a text from Tiffany. Rolling eyes the moment he saw her name, he typed in his passcode which was the date him and Amelia got married to see what she wanted.

From Tiffany🙄 :
What tha fuck happened to Taylor and why didn't anybody call me!? I had to hear it from my homegirl!

From Tiffany🙄 :
Anyways, I just pulled up so come open this damn door.

Smacking his teeth, he stood up right when Tiffany started banging on his door loudly alerting Amelia who peeked her head out their room. "Who is that?"

"Tiffany annoying ass, everything good though. Finish what you doing." He explained to her and she slowly nodded before walking back into their bedroom.

Turning his attention back to Tiffany's loud knocks, he unlocked the door and he swung it open immediately stopping her from walking in when she tried to bump pass him. "Back up, I called you about six times earlier to try and tell you about Taylor so don't be pulling up at my place acting all concerned when hours ago you didn't even give a fuck."

Rolling her eyes, she smacked her teeth. "Really Des? You saying I don't give a fuck about my own child!? I gave birth to her for crying out loud. Move and let me go see my daughter."

Holding his arm out he stopped her once again, "She's sleep and she already had a rough day so chill out and don't make it anymore stressful for her. It's almost ten o'clock, showing up this late inappropriate especially when I called earlier back to back and sent those messages. You should've acted like a concerned mother then." He snapped growing irritated the longer she stood there.

"I was busy, I have a life too you know? So sorry if I can't answer the phone and jump when you want me too. And no what's inappropriate is the school calling that bitch of a wife of yours instead of her own damn mama! You and that bitch got me fucked up at this point and if I want to see my daughter I have every right to do so."

Coming from the back when she heard the sound of Tiffany's voice growing louder, Amelia made her presence known as she stood a few feet behind Desmond who hadn't noticed her yet. "Aye chill out forreal and don't ever disrespect her when she hasn't done anything but love our child. I could careless about what you may say or think about me, but leave her out of this. She has done nothing but love Taylor and treat her as if she was her own. The school didn't call you or me since Taylor requested not too and since Amelia is now on the emergency contact list she was able to get her."

Waving him off, she looked behind him at Amelia and rolled her eyes. "You're not her mama bitch so stay in your place."

"I'm more of a mother to Taylor than you ever could be, so please don't bring it here. I ain't the problem bitch." Amelia replied back as she folded her arms across her chest.

Amelia could not stand Tiffany and it wasn't because of the things Desmond has told her she has done over the years, it was how selfish she was towards her own daughter at times. Plus with her nasty ass attitude and how whenever she came around drama always seemed to follow, Amelia just didn't like being around her too long.

It was evident that the two didn't like each other, but in all honesty Amelia felt like Tiffany had no reason to not like her. She never disrespected her whenever she was around and she loved Taylor deeply. But due to her hateful and jealous ways it was constant drama whenever all three where under the same roof.

And at this point Amelia was over it all.

Laughing at her, Tiffany looked her up and down before looking back at Desmond. "Little girl please, I would mop the floor with your little ass. Now go on back to being the little wife and let me deal with this situation with my baby daddy."

"Don't let this pretty face fool you Tiffany. You may talk a good game to these other bitches to scare them, but I promise there is not an ounce of fear towards you in my blood. In reality we all know you aren't bout shit, talking all that shit about me behind my back because you aren't real enough to say it to my face, yeah that's real cute." Amelia stated as she stepped closer. "Worry about finally acting like a mother and being there for your child for once rather than chasing the next dick to suck for a come up bitch."

Immediately stepping inbetween them, Desmond held Amelia back who simply smiled once she saw she struck a nerve in Tiffany. "You don't know me bitch, so keep trying me if you want too. I am not the one to fuck with."

"I do, now what's up?"

Shoving Tiffany back as soon as she tried to charge at Amelia so she couldn't touch her, Desmond held Amelia behind him trying to keep the situation at bay. "You not finna touch her Tiffany so just go man. You can come back tomorrow to see Taylor but for now leave. She's sleep so seeing her now will not do anything for you."

"Yeah bitch leave." Amelia shouted as she tried to step from around Desmond. "Dumb ass hoe mad for nothing."

"Baby chil—" Desmond sentence was cut short when Tiffany's hand came slapping across his face in her attempt to hit Amelia.

Growing stunned when she realized it was Desmond she hit everything and everyone fell silent, but that only fueled Amelia.

Without second guessing Amelia immediately charged at Tiffany for putting her hands on her man and swung as soon as she approached her.

Trying to get a good grip of Amelia's hair, Amelia ate all the punches Tiffany was throwing as she had Tiffany hunched over and sent upper cuts to her face.

Many people never knew or thought to believe that Amelia was a fighter, she didn't fight often only fought when needed. And in this case it was most definitely needed since she not only disrespected her, but put her hands on her husband.

Desmond immediately grabbed a hold of Amelia who was putting the work in on Tiffany who tried her best to fight back, "Chill Mel, I'm good. Just please calm down."

"That bitch got me fucked up putting her hands on you, let me go Des!" She huffed struggling to get out of his hold.

"No, not until you calm down."

Rolling her eyes, she relaxed in his arms before letting out a sigh. "I'm calm."

Looking at her for a second, he eventually let her go. "Good."

Turning to focus back on Tiffany, Desmond went to speak again but stopped when Amelia came running from behind him to fight Tiffany some more.

Placing his hand on his forehead, he sighed to himself before looking up at the ceiling. "Lord help me." He called out as he went to get his crazy ass wife again.

The night was now calm, the sky was clear and the stars along with the moon shined over the city causing a blue hue light to cover their dark skin as both Desmond and Amelia stood on the balcony together in each other arms.

Simply thinking.

After the fight with Tiffany ended and they got Tiffany to leave, Desmond immediately checked on Amelia to make sure she was good and calmed her down the best way possible. He was still partially in shock that the fight even happened and it wasn't how he planned to end his night.

But although tonight was a mess it showed him how down Amelia really was for him and that made him happy. He didn't like the fact that his wife and baby moms was beefing or fighting, but he did appreciate Amelia stepping and riding for him the way she did and has been doing.

"She really had me fucked up Des, like damn you come here at ten o'clock starting shit and then for her to hit you—It just triggered something in me. Like yeah I knew she was aiming for me, but still don't put your hands on my man or you will get your ass beat. Period." She ranted as she stepped away from him.

Watching as she went on about the incident, he took a seat in one of the chairs they had out there and grabbed her by the hand pulling her onto his lap.

With her arms folded across her chest, she looked out onto the city with a frown on her face. "You too beautiful to be making those faces, just calm down Mel. I'm good okay? I'm not hurt, you're not hurt. We're good, so relax please."

Turning herself so she was straddling his lap she placed her arms around his neck as they stared at each other before smiling. "I'm calm and I'm sorry for letting this really get to me. It just triggered some inner emotions within' me." She mumbled lowly.

Kissing her on the lips, he slid his hands down to her butt. "I get it and trust me I'm not mad, I just hate seeing you so worked up and upset."

"I know, but okay I'm not gonna let her ruin our night. We gotta turn this night around and focus on the good in our lives, like me setting up an appointment with my doctor to discuss the whole uterine transplant."

Smiling immediately at the sound of that, he kissed her. "When is it so I can take off and be there."

"It's next Tuesday at 9:30 that morning."

"Bet, I'll be there."

"I also was looking at some flights to Texas here lately, just simply ready to get this talk or whatever with my family over with." She sighed, "I've been bullshitting about this trip and dreading it since I'm honestly scared of being rejected by them when in reality all I want is my family back."

"But you'll never know what will happen if you keep pushing it back, I want you and your family to rekindle things. I want you to gain that closure you need with them so we can continue to grow as people mentally and emotionally. This is something you need, regardless of the outcome you can at least end it with knowing that you tried and that's what matters most."

Taking his words into consideration, she closed her eyes feeling them start to burn. "I guess we need to start booking flights and reserving hotel rooms then huh?"

Using his hand to wipe her tears, he nodded. "I guess so too, but only if you truly feel you're ready though. I'm not tryna force you to do anything that you aren't comfortable with doing just yet."

Taking one last deep breath, she nodded. "I'm ready."

"Money isn't the root of all evil, GREED is."

Back in his home Lamar paced back and forth feeling his anxiety get the best of him. Hitting his head with his fist repeatedly, he grunted out loudly yelling, "Stupid," repeatedly into the air.

Trying to calm himself down he couldn't, he just killed the mother of his child along with the baby and didn't feel guilty. He didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for Chasity, he felt she deserved what happened to her since she felt the need to run her mouth.

Only thing he felt bad for was killing his unborn child in the process, he was actually excited to be a dad. But he figured once him and Amelia finally became an item they could look into adopting or having kids of their own later down the line.

Breaking out into a cold sweat he removed his shirt and continued pacing the room. He knew the media was gonna get a hold of this by time morning came and he knew more attention would be on him, so he knew he had to get his emotions together for the press.

He did it after the murder of his father, so he knew he could easily do it after this.

Once his breathing went back to normal, he walked into his bathroom and stared at himself in the mirror for a minute before he started laughing. "Mr. Lamar, you're so perfect! You're so this and you're so that! Teach me your ways Lamar. You're the man Mr. Hughes! Your father would be so proud, he did right by leaving the business in your hands!" He mocked as roughly rubbed his hands down his face.

"But why didn't he see it? The world sees that I am a good man, the world sees that I do right by this company everyday, but he never saw it!" He shouted before tears started falling from his eyes. "He never once saw it for himself."

Giving himself a few more minutes to feel sorry for himself, he eventually wiped his tears and did one last look in the mirror before walking out as if nothing ever happened.

Walking into his office he took a seat at his desk and turned on his computer, and just as everything was loading up his phones began to ring. Turning on the news, he smiled when he saw they were covering Chasity's death and checked the time on his watch seeing that he timed all of this perfectly.

Looking at his phone when he saw it was James calling, he cleared his throat and turned the tv off before accepting the call. "Hello?" He answered being sure to make his voice sound groggy as if he was sleep.

"Yo man, did you just see the news!?"

"No, what's going on?" He asked acting as if he was becoming concerned but held a straight face the entire time he talked.

"Chasity was killed tonight bro, they said it looks like a home invasion. I'm sorry you had to hear it like this." James expressed feeling his heart break for Lamar.

Lamar fell silent putting him on mute and placed him on speaker while he continued logging in onto his computer. Going to his files, he clicked the tab that was named Chasity and smiled knowing he was gonna have to use this one day.

"Lamar? You there man?"

Lamar quickly took him off of mute and sighed, "Yeah, I'm here man. I don't even know what to say at this point, I literally just saw her earlier today and now she's gone." He sniffled. "I don't believe it."

"You need me to come by there? I know at a time like this you shouldn't be alone. I can't even imagine how it feels to lose two people within' the same night." He could hear James getting up, but he stopped him.

"I honestly just want to be alone at the moment James, I appreciate it but I gotta wrap my mind around this. Let me call you back." Hanging up before James could protest, Lamar went back to the folder tab and clicked on the list of things under it.

Lamar sorta always knew that one day he was gonna have to kill Chasity, she knew way too much which was why he spoiled her the way she did to keep her quiet. But he saw now that even his love and money wasn't enough for to keep her mouth shut so he had to shut it for her.

Squinting his eyes at the brightness of the screen, he read over the tab he was looking for. "Chasity's Women and Kid's Safety Foundation."

Printing all that he needed out, he stapled the pages together and placed them in a folder ignoring the sound of his office phone, work phone and cell phone ringing off the hook.

He already had the speech he was gonna say to the press ready in his mind, he was gonna go ghost for a while to make it seem as if he was coping with the death of her then pop out with a press conference.

Grabbing his phones, he carried the folder under his armpit and walked towards his garage to leave. Taking the keys that belonged to his Bentley off the key hook, he got in sitting everything he needed in the passenger seat before pulling out.

He knew the paparrazzi was headed their way to his house and he wanted to be long gone before they got there.

Backing out of his driveway he sped down the road going in the direction of the airport where his private jet was.

After almost an hour and thirty minutes of driving, Lamar had arrived and parked his car in the garage where his plane sat with his crew already there loading his bags.

Getting out of his car, his crew held sympathetic looks for him but said nothing as he got on the plane.

Taking his seat and ordering a glass of some d'Usse, he let out a sigh and pulled out his cell phone not even amazed at the amount of texts and calls he has and is recieving from people he calls friends.

Looking through all his texts he stopped when he came across on particular text and smiled.

From Amelia♥️ :
I just heard what happened and my heart along with prayers goes out to you and Chasity's family. Please call if you need anything, I'm here for you and sorry for your loss🙏🏾

Closing out his phone, he thanked the lady who returned with his drink and sat back in his seat with a slight smile on his face. He had everything planned out and was ready for all this shit to blow over so he could get back to his life.

"I'll always love you like it's the beginning,"

-

Jay sat on the couch lurking through Amelia's pictures feeling his blood boil the more he came across on her social media accounts. It took him a while to trace her, but seeing that she was now Lamar's assistant all over the media it was easy to locate her.

The day he came back home to see Amelia gone with no trace to follow, Jay was heartbroken. He had planned to propose to her in hopes that she would forgive him, he tried calling her, he even used to scope out the school in hopes of spotting her but at the time it seemed as if she fell off the face of the Earth.

That was until he was watching the news earlier which showed recaps of Lamar's annual gala and he saw her looking beautiful as ever beside him. Once he saw that she was alive and well, he created multiple fake accounts since he knew he was blocked on the original ones and stalked her new accounts she created everyday.

Sometimes he did it just so he could feel close to her, but it has been times where he used her pictures to help him get off since Hailey wasn't satisfying him whatsoever.

Finally coming across her instagram, he immediately frowned when he saw another nigga name in her bio. "Desmond? Who tha fuck is Desmond?" He asked himself before he went looking further.

Seeing that she was now married to the guy only pissed him off more and the pictures she took of them either out on dates, kissing or just simply boo'd up only added to his anger because in his eyes Amelia still belonged to him and him only.

Everyday he thought about her and just wanted his baby back home to show her how sorry he was for everything. His life felt so dull without her and all he wanted was a second chance to prove himself that he could be the man she needed for her.

Clicking on Desmond's instagram account he schemed through it a bit just getting a good look at him before stopping at a picture he had posted of Amelia.

Rolling his eyes, he scanned through some of the comments and gagged at the amount of people who were hyping them up and calling them, "Goals."

They weren't goals in Jay's eyes, they weren't shit.

Going back to Amelia's page, he came across a picture of her in a bathing suit. Zooming in on how thick she has gotten since he last seen her, he mentally groaned and sat back as he stared at the picture while unbuckling his pants feeling his dick stiffen at the site of it.

Slowly stroking himself, he threw his head back as he envisioned Amelia naked in bed with him just like old times. Thinking back to their very first time together, Jay smiled softly at the memory letting his mind take him to his happy place.

Sitting at the edge of the bed with her legs crossed, Amelia looked around Jay's room in total shock that in just a few minutes she was about to become a woman.

Feeling her nerves kick in the moment he entered the room with a condom, he smiled widely at her. "You sure you wanna do this?" He asked and she slowly nodded still kinda unsure.

Noticing the uncertaintity in her eyes, he squatted down in front of her and gently reached up and grabbed her chin. "I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't want. If you're ready for this then okay, but if not that's cool too. We got time,"

"Okay.." She mumbled before laying back.

A knock at his door took him out of his memory, but he simply told whoever that was behind the door to fuck off and went back to thinking about his baby.

Hovering over her he slid her underwear down and rose the sweatshirt she wore over her head and tossed across the room leaving her completely naked beneathe him.

If could snap a picture of how beautiful she looked in all her glory, he would and he would frame it to hang it on his wall for the world to see.

When he began planting kisses down her body Amelia tried to loosen up, but nothing was working. She felt insecure about her body and was lowkey scared at what could possibly be the outcome after this. So many thoughts ran through her mind and she wasn't sure as to why since all of this was planned.

Noticing her damn near shaking underneath him, he stopped his movements all together and sat up. "You're not ready and when I make love to you I want you to be ready. We don't have to do this."

Another set of knocks at his door knocked him out of his daydream causing him to sigh in annoyance. Placing his now hard dick back in his pants, he stood up and walked towards the door looking through the peep hole to see Hailey.

Smacking his teeth, he opened the door for her and walked away leaving her there dumbfounded.

"Well hello to you too asshole." She spat as she followed him inside closing the door behind her.

"Don't start today, I'm not in the mood."

Rolling her eyes, she sat on the couch and looked down at his phone to see the picture of Amelia he was staring at.

Scoffing, she stood up and followed behind him into his bedroom. "Are you seriously looking at pictures of your ex bitch again? Jay you really got me fucked up bro."

Snatching his phone from her, he got in his bed ignoring her and pulled his dick out once again and continued doing what he didn't get to finish.

When she saw him close his eyes and began to jack off to the picture, she stood there lost for words as she felt her eyes began to burn at the sight. "So you really finna beat your dick to a picture of a bitch that left your stupid ass? What tha fuck has happened to you? You weren't like this before!" She shouted not liking this new Jay whatsoever.

When they first started their affair back in New York, Jay was sweet and he treated her good. But as the days passed here it was like he was changing by the minute.

Glancing up at her with his jaw clenched, he nodded, "What tha fuck does it look like I'm doing? I can do whatever the fuck I want in my house. If you don't like it leave or sit your ass down and watch."

"You're sick!"

When he got out of bed and walked up towards she took a step back but he roughly grabbed her by the hair and slammed her against the wall. "Dont'chu think I know that already!? Yet you're still here," He laughed as he reached his hand down to her neck and began choking her slightly.

"I let you think what you wanted of me, but I'm tired of the act and I'm tired of your shit as well." Softly kissing her on the lips, he smiled. "Now if you want to get back on daddy's good side, get back cool with Amelia."

"For what?" She scoffed.

"To keep tabs on her for me, just do what I say and all will be good. I been letting your ass get away with this shit talking a little bit too long, I'm capable of a lot of things and if you like your life I advise you to stop trying me." He stated in a cold hard tone, something Hailey had never heard before.

The look in his eyes was different and she wasn't sure what to think, this wasn't the man she fell in love with and each day he was starting to show who he really was.

When he released his hand from her neck, she sighed. "What do you need me to do?"

"Call her up and apologize for ghosting, give some bullshit excuse as to why you did and let it go from there. Amelia has a very forgiving spirit so she will let you back in." He told her and she nodded scared to go against anything he was saying at this point.

"Okay and then what?"

Giving her a stern look, she looked away sensing that she needed to stop asking questions.

Reaching inside her purse, she grabbed her phone and went to Amelia's contact name.

"After you do that get out so I can finish what I'm doing." She heard him say, but she tuned him out as she typed up her message.

To Amelia🌺 :
