Hey I had two options for this chapter. Fix things with Lily and Ethan or break them up.

Chapter 29

Ethan's POV

My mind was blank as my anger took control. All I could see was my fist withdrawing back than returning to Ashton's face.

When I saw them kissing it was like someone stabbed me in the chest. There was this strange twisting in my heart. How could she do that?

I thought she liked me.

Than that fucking dick Ashton went on about being the right guy for Lily, my Lily!

That's when I lost it. Lily has been on my mind for years. She is the reason I couldn't sleep at night. I lay in my bed thinking of how much pain she has been through.

Nights of wishing I could have her laying beside me. Days of watching others touch her. Even a hug from Rachel made me jealous. I wanted to be able to have her in my arms.

There was a roaring in my ear as someone tried pulling me off my Ashton. Pushing the person away I swung my fist to his bleeding and bruising face.

My knuckles began to tingle indicating I've hit Ashton enough but I couldn't stop. Every time I tried the image of Ashton kissing Lily refuelled my rage.

I couldn't stop even if I wanted.

It was like my body had a mind of it's own. A small, cool hand wrapped around my bicep and gave a weak tug.

My heart skipped a beat recognising the hands. Slowly the roaring began to fade as my mind began to work again. My hand stopped as the tingling spread to through out my knuckles.

I let go of Ashton letting him drop to the ground. Bringing my hand up I saw that it was red and stained with Ashton's blood.

There was an annoying squealing sound from behind me. I turned to see Melissa with her hands covering her mouth as she cried. When she met my eyes she quickly looked away in fear.

A pair of small hands grabbed the sides of my face forcing me to look down. Lily's eyes were glassy as she tried holding back tears.

Her bottom lip quivered slightly as she rubbed her thumb against the sides of my face.

"I didn't kiss him." she whispered

"We had this fake flirting thing going on before you and I. It was to make Melissa jealous, nothing more." she continued

That was all it took to cause her tears to over flow. A fat tear slid down her cheek followed by another. I can't see her cringe at me. That look of fear.

Taking a step back I pulled away from her touch. I never wanted Lily to see this, me as this monster.

I looked down at Ashton who was clutching his face. They had an agreement. That explains why Lily was all over him last week.

My jaw clenched and unclenched at the memory.

"Dude chill." Jake said putting a hand on my shoulder

No. Lily has never seen me lose control. She never saw this part of me. I can't bare to see her fear me. Jake has seen this, its nothing new to him.

Ashton grunted as he tried standing up his hand cradling his face.

"Melissa go help Ashton get cleaned up." Lily ordered a hint of anger in her tone

"Y-yeah sure." Melissa stuttered weakly

Melissa walked around me never letting her eyes off the ground. I knew that look, the look of fear. She helped Ashton up and went into the kitchen.

"Ethan." Lily began

"Don't. Just don't try sugar coating this." I said threw clenched teeth

Her brows came together angrily as she shook her head. Her eyes were no longer glassy with tears but held a hard look.

"Look I'm going to go." I said giving Jake a small nod that he returned

I need some time alone. Turning towards the door I was going to leave when Lily ran in front of it.

"Not until we talk." she said

"There is nothing to talk about." I answered simply

Lily crossed her arms over her chest looking so damn cute. Her bottom lip pouted out making me want to pull her into my arms and kiss her till her knees go weak.

"Obviously there is because your angry." she said

Raking my fingers through my hair I pushed my anger aside. We can't do this here, not in front of Jake.

"Damn it Ethan he kissed me! I tried pushing him away but he was too strong." she said taking a step towards me

"Its not just that." I said stiffly

She threw her hands up in the air letting out a frustrated sigh.

"Than what? Tell me because I'm not letting you leave until you tell me."

"I don't want to do this." I breathed out

"What?" she asked her eyes widening

Running my fingers through my hair again I let out a small chuckle.

"You don't know who I am Lily. You think I'm this perfect guy who has great timing when in reality I'm this fucking douche."

She shook her head ready to protest when I stopped her.

"That monster you just saw is me. I'm not the good guy. Good guys don't beat the shit out of people."

She deserves better than me. As much as it pains me to think it maybe Lily would be better off without me.

"Your right your not a good guy." she said stepping forward

Reaching out she entwined her fingers in mine. Lifting her face up to mine I saw the hardness in her eyes was gone. Her eyes were soft and caring as she looked me.

"Your also not a douche, most of the time. Sure you lose your temper at times and you tend fight but your not a monster."

Her fingers tightened as she brought our hands up to her face. She pressed a kiss to my knuckles her eyes never leaving mine.

"What the fuck is going on?" Jake shouted

Lily jumped forgetting all about her brother. Her eyes widened as she turned towards him not letting go of my hand.

She leant against me for support.

"Jake I can explain." I said trying to step away from Lily

"Ethan and I are together." Lily blurted

Jake's dark, cold eyes were on me as he stepped forward his nostrils flaring. Lily stood between us her back firmly against my chest.

"Together?!" he hissed looking me straight in the eye since Lily was only up to my chin

"Jake please don't get mad. I really like Ethan and we haven't done anything." Lily continued trying to grab his attention

Except Jake was staring at me with pure rage. "How long have you been sneaking around?" he asked his voice strained

"Jake.." Lily began

He went to go grab her by the forearms but I saw him and quickly pulled Lily behind me.

"How fucking long?!" he shouted

"About a week." I answered truthfully

Jake rubbed the back of his neck obviously restraining himself. I don't want to fight my best friend but if he touches Lily I will.

Lily grabbed my hand and peaked over my shoulder. She loves Jake, I know this must be hard for her.

"Let's talk about this, for Lily's sake."

"For Lily! Don't fuck with me Andrew. You don't care about girls you just get in and out."

Lily tightened her hold. I can't deny it, as my best friend Jake knows my pattern.

"This is different. Lily is different." I answered

"Bullshit! If you think I'll let you use my sister you have another thing coming."

Lily tried walking around me but I kept her behind me. Jake saw me and clenched his fist. I knew what was coming next.

"I care about Lily, I have for a long time. Yes I had a player past but not anymore. She means more to me than I can explain."

"Whoa what the fuck do you mean a long time?"

Shit, wrong choice of words. Jake brought his fist back and hit me. His fist collided with my cheekbone only causing it to tingle slightly.

"Jake stop!" Lily screamed

"Don't fall for his act. That's how he gets the girls, with sweet words. I know his moves Lily."

He reached out to try pulling her away but I put my body between them.

"Hit me all you want but if you touch her I will break your arms." I threatened

Jake cringed back at the hard tone of my voice. I knew he'd back off when I use that tone.

He swallowed and tried not to look intimidated.

"Ethan please." Lily pleaded

She tried getting around me again, this time I allowed her to but kept my hand in hers.

"I know about his reputation Jake. I'm not saying he has this perfect past, in fact you two aren't so different."

Jake shook his head about to protest when Lily pointed an accusing finger at him.

"Don't forget our bedrooms are right next to each other and I've heard every hoochie sneak in to your room."

Jake rubbed his neck his cheeks a deep scarlet red. My girlfriend could really shut you up.

"I like Ethan, a lot and he seems to care about me too. Look Jake I want you to accept this but even if you don't we'll still be together."

He looked between us his features softening. "Do you really like him?" he asked

Lily nodded her head her dark mane bouncing excitedly. Jake shook his head and muttered something incoherent.

"If you hurt her I'm going to cut your balls off." he threatened me

"Never." I replied with a wide grin

Lily pounced on him wrapping her arms around his neck. She thanked him over and over again. Jake accepting us means a lot to her. Hell it meant a lot to me too.

I get the girl of my dreams and keep my best friend. Lily pulled away pecking his cheek. Heat creeped up his face.

Wrapping my arms around her waist I pulled her to my side. Lily was beaming, her saucer like eyes glimmering with relief.

I kissed her forehead well aware of Jake's dark gaze. He could deal with an innocent kiss on the forehead.

"One more thing Andy if you sleep with my sister or do anything remotely close to what you've done with other girls I'm going to cut your dick off and feed it to my dogs."

Lily pressed her hip against mine and giggled. Jake doesn't have any dogs but there was no need to point that out. Instead I nodded trying to keep a straight face.

"Alright you say your goodbyes we have to go to work and I can't guarantee he'll come back to you in one piece." Jake said

It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. I leaned my chin on Lily's shoulder causing Jake to narrow his eyes as he walked into the kitchen.

Lily leaned against my chest letting a girlish giggle escape her lips. Her lips. Bending my head down I brushed my mouth against hers feeling the instant fire.

"What the fuck?!" Jake shouted from the kitchen

We parted just as Jake swung back in. He shook his head a disgusted look on his face.

"Both my sisters in one day." He muttered as he stormed out the front door

Lily and I exchanged a confused look. Just than Melissa came through the door with her hair messy and her lips swollen from her lip lock.

She avoided my gaze as she sprinted upstairs. Almost right after her Ashton came out with a large bandage on his nose, his cheek was starting to bruise and under his eye was already black.

I felt kind of bad now that I saw the damage I did but that would teach him to touch my girl.

"I'll just be going now." he said and rushed for the door

Lily turned to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Where were we?" she asked with a teasing smile

"Right here." I said capturing her mouth with mine

She weaved her fingers into my hair tugging me down further as her lips moved eagerly against mine. Dropping my hands down to her butt I lifted her off the ground.

With a playful squeal she wrapped her legs around my waist.

"Hmm that was hot." she said against my lips

I ran my hands over the length of her body loving the way she arched her back at my touch.

"Andy get your hands off my sister and let's go!" Jake shouted

Lily pulled away and I couldn't help but groan in protest. She leaned her forehead against mine.

"If we lock the door he can't bother us." I said

She bent her head back and laughed thinking I was joking. Lily unwrapped her legs from around my waist landing on her feet for once.

Standing on her tippy toes she pecked my lips. "Bye babe."

Just as she was going to pull away I pressed my lips to hers ready to continue from where we left off. There was loud honking sound followed by Jake's annoying voice cursing for me to hurry up.

"I'm going to kill him." I groaned as she pulled away again

"You better go before he comes in."

Lily stepped away in case we continued were we left off, again. Lifting a hand up to my head I brushed my hair back down knowing Lily probably had it sticking out in every direction.

She smiled sheepishly and opened the door for me.

"I'll see you tonight love." I said

"Tonight?"

Walking over to her I smiled at the her puzzled face. Damn she even looks cute when she's confused.

"Yeah when we tell the rest of your family about us."

Her mouth hung open and her eyes widened. I couldn't help but chuckle at her response. Jake was the hard part her dad would be no problem.

"Bye love."

I pecked her lips quickly and walked towards a fuming Jake. As we pulled away I saw Lily shake her head finally getting out of her daze.

The corners of my mouth tipped upwards. I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
