Third-Person POV

Back in Austin, Texas...

Druscilla Fabatier was an elderly woman who was as no-nonsense as her late husband. The two of them did all they could to ensure that their children would do right by each other as well as their own families.

So when she learned that her children (two daughters and a son, him dying from cancer) began their own families, she had hoped that her grandchildren would be brought up in a home that showed no favoritism.

Sadly, she knew that one of her daughters would have three children (two daughters and a son) that would treat the oldest child with disdain. And she knew that Thierry was the one who was destined for great things but was often seen as the pariah since he wasn't a "real Lemieux man," according to her complacent son-in-law (who wasn't as bad as her second son-in-law). And if she wasn't alive today, she knew that Thierry would more than likely be thrown out of the house and left to die in the streets- that is, if he didn't commit suicide.

So it was a blessing that she took her only grandson under her wing and taught him all the life lessons she learned as a Fabatier, Montclair, Voliaux, and other members of the esteemed Haitian-French lineage. She also taught him how to cook, do repairs around the house, and even handle his own.

But she knew that his parents and sisters wanted to cut the apron strings from Thierry so he could be forced to live by their rules. And when she had heard that he was being sent off to a boarding school up north, she knew that it was not up for debate but hated to be away from the only sensible boy in the family who could keep the family name intact. But when she learned that her mentee was now a teacher at the school her grandson was attending, she knew who to call. Because she had a feeling that Thierry was going to be in trouble and would need loyal friends.

Sitting her Bible to the side, Druscilla dialed up a familiar number. "Hello, is this Viv? Hi, there," she said after the third ring. "It's me, Druscilla, your mentor. Look, my family has sent my grandson to your school in Massachusetts. His name's Thierry Lemieux. He's in your homeroom? Good. I need you to be his mentor in the same way that I was for you. I think that he'll be in some sort of trouble with a student or two alongside his spiteful family back here in Texas. Can you and your friends- thank you, Viv. I needed to hear that. My Thierry is destined for many things, yet his family treats him like trash. Can I tell you about them?"

And for the next hour or so, Druscilla Antoinette Fabatier talked to her former ward all about the people who made Thierry's life a living hell. She knew that Viv was to be trusted with looking out for her grandson. Because if her hunch was right, then Thierry's flesh and blood would put him in a lot of danger. And he would need all the allies he could get.

In a nightclub/bar/cafe in downtown Sammons Falls, Massachusetts...

"Wonder what Viv wants to meet with us about?" Aquilla Wytche (real name: Damion Alandale; a dark-skinned fey/druid hybrid) asked as she and Summertyme Salad (Real name: Colton Wyndham, a descendant of one of the most powerful families of mages) sat down to iced tea while waiting for the others. "The old girl was insistent that we get here before Drag Night tonight as she wants all of us performers here."

"Child, I dunno," Summertyme replied, shaking her head as her honey-blonde wig curls wagged. "But something tells me that someone might need our help real soon. And I bet Viv knows who he or she is."

Velvet Cremme (Andre Moore, a plump and sass-mouthed spark) walked in, dressed in her signature ball gown with Electrique Shoque (Real name: Mariana Sparks, a transgender mage) and Sagittarina (Raul Benitez, a water nymph) following behind her. "Are we late?" she asked. "Had to pick up these two from their jobs."

"Just in time," Aquilla commented, ushering them to the table where she and Summer sat at. "And Viv's still not here yet. We're wondering if you guys know what's set to go down."

"Child, I think I have a strong guess, especially with that new boy who arrived," Sagittarina replied. "He looks like a sweetheart, but his mother and sisters give me some nasty vibes that make me want to just drench them in seawater."

"You mean the ones that arrived to drop him off on Move-In Day at SFA?" Electrique asked. "I did meet his sisters- twins. They looked like Playboy Bunny rejects and kept hitting on guys at the gas station. My manager kicked them out when one of them flirted with his son's boyfriend."

"Shameless bitches," Velvet sighed. "And that kid's related to them? How?"

"Sisters," commented a woman's powerful voice.

All five drag queens turned to see a statuesque dark-skinned woman dressed in an elegant black pantsuit with a white hat that covered half of her face. She took it off to reveal a set of glamorous dark hair as long as a raven's wing and black as night. "Ladies, welcome. The boy you speak of is the grandson of my former mentor. His name is Thierry Lemieux and, according to his grandmother, is believed to be in grave danger."

All ladies gasped. "Viv, You mean that-" Electrique began.

Viv nodded. "And since he's in my homeroom, I'll make sure that he'll be given a warm welcome," she commented. "Ladies, I think that he'll be the one to be mated to the young future Alpha wolf of Sammons Falls- Master Matthieux Rosseaux-Yanez, but two pack sluts want him as theirs. And I believe that when the time does come for them to meet, Thierry's family will make their move to stop this. Not only that, he'll be in the middle of a great war between rouges and rogue hunters."

Aquilla frowned. "Then we'll make sure to protect him as if he was one of us," she said firmly. "When will we meet him?"

"Tomorrow after classes, but remember that he doesn't know of our world just yet," their witch coven leader said formally. "And since it's forbidden to reveal things to him until he does mate with Matthieux, we'll need to keep our true identities in the supernatural to ourselves? He has to figure it out on his own."

"Agreed," Velvet replied. "But we do need to warn Matt's family, though. If anything, we need to let Matt know about his mate if he doesn't already know by now."

"We'll play it by ear," Viv replied. "Now tomorrow, make sure that you five and the other queens and kings prepare our guest a little something to remind him of his Texan roots."

"Austin?" smiled Electrique.

"You know it well," Viv grinned. "Now, prepare for tonight, girls. We got a big crowd coming in before classes begin at SFA, so make sure that the young gay kids are entertained and the underage away from the bars. Let's move out!"

The ladies nodded, making a beeline for their dressing rooms as various male supernaturals got ready to open up the establishment. By daylight, the Red Rose Cafe was a lovely restaurant that served the humans (and shifters) the finest foods. But at night, it was also a nightclub for all the partygoers to search for their lovers and maybe find someone permanent.

Ariana Vivacious ran the place with a firm yet gentle hand, making her the most-respected woman in town. As for Mr. Lemieux, she and the others would protect him with their lives. And that was a promise for the Moon Goddess that she planned to keep.

We've met the drag witch coven, y'all! And here's my vision for the ladies and who plays them.

All these queens will be Thierry's allies in this story, so watch out and don't piss them off or they'll turn you to stone!

The first day of classes begins in the next chapter as Thierry deals with Kylie and Crystal as well as a spiteful uncle's phone call. Yeah, folks! Thierry's start of senior year isn't going to be smooth sailing as he hoped.
