Ch. 41: Even Good Boys Go Through Heartbreak
Thierry's POV
Later that afternoon, I was standing in front of the floor-length mirror of the bathroom that I was currently in. After a bit of classwork and some supernatural lessons with the tutors, I was told to be dressed in my best attire and to meet with my mates in the indoor auditorium. "The Alphas-to-be insisted on your request, sir," my designated guard Shane had told me earlier as he accompanied me back to the dormitories. "I think that the worst is about to come, sir Luna."
And judging from the way he said that last sentence, I knew that the inevitable was indeed coming my way
Matthieux Rosseaux-Yanez and Luciane Moranox were going to commit the unforgivable sin against Druscilla (the Moon Goddess, AKA my Mother) and leave me for my sisters and cousin.
But the funny (in an ironic way) thing about it all was that I was feeling nothing but an ominous yet blissful calm as I took myself a nice and calming bath while patting my still-flat belly, drank lots of water alongside some cups of tea to rehydrate myself after crying my eyes out, and prepared to dress like I was being prepared for a funeral: a crispy-white dress shirt with a cream-colored suit and black oxford shoes. I wore no other jewelry other than the Maltese cross that Jose's mother gifted to me on his cremation and Grandpa Othel's ring that was on my right finger.
"Knock-knock," came the saddened voice of Velvet as she opened the door for me with Electrique, Aquilla, and Summertyme standing behind her while Ariana hung back. "Are you ready, Thierry?"
I turned around to see my gaggle of drag-queen witch coven giving me a sympathetic look. "As ready as I'll ever be," I commented. "I mean, I knew that this day was bound to come sooner or later when it came down to Matt needing to make a hard choice to save his parents. I just never expected for this day to come this soon."
"We'll help you through this," Aquilla replied. "For all we know, things might not be as they appear, and that-"
She was cut off by me moaning in pain softly as I doubled over while clutching my stomach.
"Goddess," breathed Sagittarina, coming to me before placing her manicured hand on my stomach. "Thierry, your pups...I'm afraid that-"
The worst was about to begin, folks.
My children were dying in my womb and I was soon going to lose them thanks to the inevitable. "I'll be fine," I grunted, letting myself stand up straighter before I took deep breaths. My eyes were misting at the thought of losing everything all at once.
I'm so sorry, Thierry, Kristoff's voice intoned in my head. Once you hear the fated words, our pups will die instantly. There's nothing to reverse this damage.
I know, Kristoff, I replied through our mind link. At least I can be prepared to face this rejection nicely and easily.
"Thierry," came the motherly voice of my mentor as she came to my side. "Are you sure that you're going to be okay with-"
"I won't be all right," I interrupted her, letting a tear fall from my eyes. "But I plan to be all right in the future."
Ariana nodded solemnly, her eyes full of sadness for my sake and rage against my two soon-to-be ex-mates. "I wish Druscilla could be here to help you through this," she muttered as she took my hand. "And I would give my soul to see Amalia go on the warpath against her son."
"Who can say what will happen, Ariana?" Summertyme replied as we trooped out of the large restroom before being joined by the gloomy faces of the designated guards alongside Landon and Jacerimiah, the mated Beta warriors none too amused to see my dejected state. "But you are right when you said that we could use the hands of the gods and goddesses right now to guide us through this storm."
"Well, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner that I know where to go from here," I replied. To Landon and Jace, "I'm so sorry for all of this, you guys."
"You're not in the wrong, Thierry," Landon assured me, though his eyes were full of contempt for his Alpha. "I warned my best friend about all of this and threatened to leave the pack if he and Luke go through with this. Moranox seems remorseful as if he doesn't want to go through with this but Matt is being too reckless about his choice. For all I know, this is going to bite him on the ass."
"Shall we go, Luna?" one of the guards said gently, the other opening the door for me.
I took a deep breath, stealing a glance from my circle of allies. "We shall," I replied firmly, my tone brooking no argument. "Time to face down my demons and face my fate. If I live, then I live. But if I must enter my comatose state, then I must."
With that said, we left the apartment-style dorm room and walked down the hallways, almost all of the students bowing low in a show of respect for me before joining the voyage to the auditorium where my fate would be sealed.
There was no going back.
****************
The moment I arrived, my eyes were trained on the stage where I saw my scantily-clad twin sisters cuddling at either side of Matt while Mi'Chelle was flirting with an uneasy Luciane. "You're to join your mates and the Gruesome Threesome on the stage, Luna," Shane replied firmly as he led me through the crowded audience members with Ariana following behind me. "I'm so sorry for all of this, young man. This is going to be a bad day for us all here at Sammons Falls Academy."
"I'm sorry, too," I replied as we reached the stage, me catching a glimpse of the angry eyes of the supernatural council. Taking a deep breath of courage, Ariana and I climbed up the stairs and joined the five teens just as Matt broke away from the crowd.
"Thierry!" crooned my sisters and cousin, the former two pulling me right to the center of the stage before Mi'Chelle shot me a winning smirk in my direction. "You came just in time for the big news ahead of you."
"That I am," I replied just as the crowd grew silent. "I assume that you're here to watch me fall from grace."
Matt took to the front of the stage, motioning for me to join him. "Good afternoon, fellow pack members and citizens of Sammons Falls," he said into the microphone, his voice booming with authority. "I have come to you all today to make this important announcement."
"Ah, shit," I heard Luciane mutter sotto-voce. "This is going to be bad."
Matt took a deep breath, probably to silence his rattling nerves. "As most of you already know, my parents- the current Alpha and Luna of the Sammons Falls werewolf pack- have been kidnapped by my mate's sisters Tiana and Fianna alongside their cousin Mi'Chelle as the ladies have joined forces with the rogue shifters and vampires and the rebel hunters. My parents are still alive at the moment, though my father has suffered many severe injuries."
There were small murmurs of concern from the crowd before they fell silent.
"These ladies have offered a proposition, one that has given me and my fellow Alpha Luciane Moranox- the son of the underworld goddess Amalie- some time to think about," Matt went on as the air became thick with ominous tension. "They have offered the safe return of my parents and the monetary retribution of the fallen Omegas as restitution. In return, Mr. Moranox and I will break the mating bond with Thierry Lemieux and hand him over to his sisters for his death and body to be sold for science and the black market."
The room erupted in chaotic anger and yells.
"What is the meaning of this?!" I heard Mr. Demeroux, the leader of the supernatural council boom in anger. "Have you forgotten the signed declaration that you and Mr. Moranox signed to make sure that your mate Thierry Lemieux is to remain the true Luna, you fool?! To revoke the supernatural declaration made under the eyes of the Moon Goddess, the boy's true mother, is a sign of anarchy and a consideration of an act of treachery against your pack!"
"I'm the Alpha, Mr. Demeroux," Matt replied stonily. "I'm thinking about the safety of my parents and their livelihood. Not only that, I am letting down Mr. Lemieux very easily."
"You fool!" boomed another Alpha from the audience, a redheaded male with glowing cat-like eyes. "You're breaking the code of honor set by all Alphas from long ago. And for the safety of your family. There must be another way."
"There isn't!" Matt roared angrily before calming himself down. "I'm saving my family as well as all of you to prevent the war from coming to fruition. All that these ladies ask is for them to kill off the last moon wolf alive and for me and Mr. Moranox to reject him. And not only that, I have been offered another proposition."
Matt turned to me. "Thierry, I know that this is all so sudden, but I am thinking of the safety of my loved ones," he began. "For me to stop the incoming war, I am not only to reject you as the true mate and Luna of my pack but also accept the marriage proposals of your sisters and cousin. They asked me and Luciane to marry them and make them the Lunas. And while Luciane has yet to make his decision, I have said yes."
I felt tears fall from my eyes as the pain from my womb intensified, a small pool of blood leaking from my rear area. "Please," I moaned softly, my voice thick with sobs. "Don't do this."
Matt placed a kiss on my temple, the last one that I would receive as a gift of mercy. "I'm sorry, young man, but I must save my parents," he replied sadly yet his voice remained firm. "I, Matthieux Dominique Rosseaux-Yanez, hereby reject you, Thierry Evan Lemieux, as my mate and Luna of the Sammons Falls pack."
I sobbed heavily as I collapsed onto the stage, my sisters and cousin cheering happily before surrounding my fallen form as Tiana pulled out a giant sword.
"Don't fret, Thierry," Mi'Chelle sneered before spitting on my face. "At least you get to rot in hell with those dead spawns in your body. And not only that, Matt's parents will soon join you alongside anyone else who does not see me or your sisters as their official Lunas."
"And at least we're finally getting rid of you once and for all," Fianna added, blowing a kiss at the now-somber Matt who was standing from afar. "Besides, killing you now seems like a merciful way to let you know that you're nothing but pure trash!"
Tiana raised her sword high as she aimed for my neck. "Goodbye, little brother," she said softly. "Goodbye and good riddance."
"NO!" Ariana screamed angrily as two rebel hunters held her back. "Don't you dare!"
Tiana grunted, plunging the sword into my chest, her laughter alongside those of Fiana's and Mi'Chelle's ringing in my ears before the darkness swallowed me whole.

DREAM SEQUENCE
My eyes flew open, noticing that I was surrounded by blinding white light before I was greeted by Druscilla alongside a tall Asian woman who reminds me of Luciane. She was dressed in an opulent black gown with a crown full of red diamonds and made with bones adorning her bright-red hair.
"Druscilla! Where am I?" I asked, looking around.
"You're in the entryway of the heavens, My child," Druscilla replied softly, Her eyes full of sadness before she directed my attention to the woman next to her. "This is your Aunt, the goddess of wrath and the queen of the underworld where the condemned are laid to rest- Amalia, Luciane's mother."
"Charmed to meet you, my nephew," Amalia said, giving me a small smile.
I bowed low, not wanting to be informal. "Well, I guess you know why I'm here," I said.
"That we have," Amalia replied, frowning. "My son and that...boy have been seduced by your human sisters and have broken their promise that they were to protect you from harm and to make you their true mate. This is unforgivable, rejecting the mating bond because of one's feelings or stopping what my sister and I- alongside your heavenly relatives- have decreed. And to kill you, the last known moon-wolf alive is another insult."
I nodded. "So am I really dead?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Far from it, my child," Druscilla commented. "As I have told you, a moon wolf from My womb cannot die as you have officially unlocked your powers when you mated with those Alphas. You're just in a comatose state at the hospitals where the councils and the witches have taken you and set human guards from the military with the human government from the commonwealth of Massachusetts knowing what has happened. The entire commonwealth is in lockdown and everyone is calling to arms for your protection and safety."
I nodded. "And the town of Sammons Falls alongside the school and the pack?"
"Surprisingly, the whole town sees you as the TRUE Luna of Matt's pack and has officially denounced Matthieux as the Alpha, though his hopes of seeing his parents alive were dashed as the Gruesome Threesome had slaughtered them right before his eyes," Amalia intoned. "The two of them, alongside that Ambrose girl who was martyred for protecting them, are in eternal rest with the girl given honors for redeeming herself of her past actions."
Well, that's one worry off my mind, though I was sad to hear that Matt's parents were killed by my heartless sisters. "So, what is next for me?" I asked.
Amalia smiled widely, snapping her fingers as more of the supernatural gods and goddesses came from the thick clouds. "We prepare you to officially come back from the coma...as the next divine ruler and patron saint of the lone shifters and Omegas," she declared. "And then, you will be given the power to stop this war against the feral rogues, rebel hunters who go against the honorable, and the demented scientists and traffickers once and for all. And you, my child, will be the one key to doing just that."
My eyes went wide. "What?" I breathed.
And I oop...
GAGGED!
This isn't the end of this jaw-dropping moment, folks! There's plenty to come in the next chapter while Matt and Luciane face backlash for their reckless decision!
