"And that's what happened so far," I finished telling the queens and Madame Vivacious over the events of what happened at lunch and my unexpected phone call from my VERY-ACCEPTING family over some snacks and virgin cocktails. "Boy, talk about my life right now! I'm mated to a werewolf and you guys have magic. And, everyone seems to be a part of the supernatural or married- or mated, rather- to someone who is part of it."

"Well, you seem to be taking it well," commented Velvet as she and Sagittarina sat next to me at the bar while Alicia Keys blared on the radio. "I mean, you do seem a bit tense but it's mainly from your reactions from your family and all that."

"Mm-hmm, and your parents, uncle, sisters, and cousin's reactions sound a bit shady if you ask me," Aquilla said, her eyes narrowing in silts. "There's something off about them being so supportive all of a sudden."

"I'll say," I breathed. "Just as long as I don't hear from them trying to grill me into marriage or anything, I should be all right."

"I wouldn't count on being grilled on marriage and mating plans not happening just yet," warned Electrique. "Not from your family, to say the least."

That caught my attention as Ariana came to my side. "Why's that?" I wanted to know.

My homeroom teacher, in a flowy sundress in dark blue, patted my shoulder. "Thierry, since you're mated to the Alpha werewolf of Sammons Falls, all eyes will be on the two of you to not only become the first gay Alpha and Luna of the pack but also the first gay leaders of any werewolf pack here in Massachusetts," she told me. "Most werewolf packs are mainly of the Catholic descent and while they have gay wolves, most of them are forced into different-sex pairings to ensure the longevity of the packs. And if an Alpha male or female rejects an omega of the same sex, heavy consequences are soon to follow."

"So, it's illegal to reject a werewolf due to sexuality?" I deduced.

"Not just illegal, but ultimately forbidden of ANY supernatural being to reject anyone due to race, skin color, gender, or even sexual orientation," Summertyme piped up. "The Moon Goddess and Her relatives are very strict on these types of things and anyone who dares go against Her word will be met with Amalie, the volatile goddess of the underworld and wrath. And that bitch doesn't play when it comes to assholes who insult Her sister."

Well, damn.

I sighed heavily. "So, what do I need to know about what to expect?" I began. "I mean, if I am a part of this supernatural community as of my mating with Matt, I need to make sure that I am caught up to date with everything."

"I'll ask Mrs. Rosseaux-Yanez if you can sign up for Professor Allbritton's supernatural classes," Mrs. Vivacious assured me. "But we can give you the abridged version right now."

And for the next two hours, I was immediately given the run-down of the supernatural world here in Sammons Falls and across the globe. The categories for each supernatural being (were-shifters, vampires, merfolk, sirens, and others) fall into three categories: Alpha (the head leader with the Luna as his or her spouse), Beta (The general population alongside various roles and leadership in battles) and Omegas (those who are meant to become spouses and housewives/house-husbands). Once an Alpha finds its mate, it is never reversed and any attempts will be met with major backlash from all around. The Luna is more likely to be an Omega because the Omega in general is meant to keep the pack in harmony and provide comfort to all. Same-sex couples were more common than in the past thanks to a new rule that no Omega (no matter the gender) was to be rejected by any Alpha or Beta.

Betas mainly have normal lives, though some act as warriors and soldiers that keep the pack safe from rogues. Alphas generally keep the packs or covens safe from all harm. Loners are mainly those who were abandoned by their respective communities while rogues (mainly those who were were-shifters) were those who couldn't keep their beast sides in balance with their human sides due to rejection from their mates or family members. And while there were fewer of the rogues who were feral, there were some nasty incidents involving death and kidnapping. Loners were mainly taken in to avoid being sold into the black market or used by rogue hunters who didn't obey the code of not harming any supernatural being.

Hunters were also apparent, but they joined in with the pack leaders to keep away any feral rogues from harming others. And many followed the code and made sure that no Omega or Loner was mistreated or else the pack or coven would pay for it with their lives.

It was a lot to take in, but I was set to learn more when the time arrived.

As for my role when it comes to Matt and his werewolf pack, I was soon to be trained on how to be a proper Luna and I was going to take various courses in running a pack and home economics (which wouldn't be hard regarding the latter since I did take a class back in ninth grade while being bullied by the football team for it). But the one thing that caught me by surprise was the official mating ritual, especially with this tidbit.

"You mean that when we have sex, Matt will turn me into a werewolf?!" I exclaimed upon hearing the news from Sagittarina which earned some laughs from the ladies. "How is this possible?"

"Well, you're a human while Matt is a werewolf," Electrique explained, motioning for me to sit back and drink some tea. "And there are still rogue wolves who will easily claim you to become theirs unless the marking is official. If anything were to happen to you before then, Matt would go bonkers and take out his rage against all those who harmed or killed you. And that's not a pretty sight to see."

The others hummed in agreement.

Boy, talk about a Bella Swan moment from the Twilight Saga series. I bet that Elena Gilbert or Caroline Forbes had no problem with this when dealing with the Salvatore brothers.

My cellphone buzzed. Elisa. "Hello?" I said, grateful for a bit of a distraction.

"Ay, Chico. Guess who's coming over to Sammons Falls to visit you?!" My Mexicali best friend trilled. "Jose and I heard all about what's going on where you are from your family and Senora Dru made me promise to come along with your family, who is acting loca for supporting you, so we can all meet your wolfy boyfriend."

"Wait, what?" I exclaimed. "How did you know?"

"Word travels fast, man," I heard Jose from the other end. "And my girl and I might as well come clean ourselves. Elisa and I are vampires, Thierry, and we've been assigned by our Alpha in Terlingua to watch over you and your folks. And for good reason."

"Why's that?" I said, not liking this one bit.

Ariana took the phone from me, placing it on speaker. "This is Mrs. Ariana Vivacious, head witch of the Red Rose coven here in Sammons Falls,' she said formally. "What is it that regards my young ward that my mentor wanted to warn him about?"

I heard Jose take a deep breath before, "Mama Dru said that Thierry is in danger, ma'am," he said. "And with Thierry being mated to a future Alpha, great harm will come to him and his folks. His parents are worried that-"

"Someone's out to kill him," Mrs. Vivacious remarked, cutting him off. "Young man, let Mrs. Fabatier know that she can expect a phone call from me. Let Thierry's family know that I have some words with them as well as you and your mate. We need to prepare for everything."

"Yes, ma'am. And tell Thierry that he'll need to prepare himself with combat training and self-defense," he said.

"I got that covered," Aquilla said, snapping her fingers.

It was official, folks. Things were getting TOO REAL and things are never going to be the same ever again.

Well, damn! The surprises keep on coming for Thierry, don't they? The next chapter features the rest of the Lemieux clan back in Texas as the adults get a reality check and the girls are no longer seen as the apples of their parents' eyes!
