EP.133|A Strange Craving

The next morning, the VK’s were all packed up and ready to head to the Demonic Islands.

“Are you sure she’s there?” Hunter asked Mal for the umtenth time. “Yes, Hunter, Midnight said that the portal Lucifer pushed Operetta in lead to the Demoic Islands.” Mal answered.

“Good, I can't want to punch Lucifer in his stupid face. He has some nerve taking my Operetta.” Hunter’s eyes slowly turned red. “Simmer down, Hunter,” Mal slapped him upside the head, his eyes turned back to normal “we don't even know if Lucifer is on that island.”

“There’s a good possibility he is though, I mean, him and Operetta went through the same portal.” Freddie pointed out.

“Yeah but it’s Lucifer, wheat if him and Operetta aren’t even on the Demonic Islands at all, he might be sending us on a wild goose chase.” Jasper countered.

“Well we’ll never know unless we get to the Demonic Island!” Mal yelled, she was tired of waiting.

“Wait, where’s Ben?” Mal asked, Hunter sighed and rested his hand on Mal’s should. “Mal, Ben he-”

“Hey honey, sorry to keep you waiting. I must have overslept.” Ben interrupted, kissing Mal’s cheek. “I told you to wake up. See, this is wake you get for staying up late” Mal taunted her husband “you were saying Hunter?” Mal asked.

“Nope, nothing at all.” Hunter said as Mal walked forward, catching up to Evie. “So, you chose?”

Hunter asked. “Yeah, couldn't leave you of all people to protect Mal.” Ben smirked. “Good--WAIT!!! What’s that’s supposed to mean!” Hunter scolded.

Ben chuckled, slapping Hunter back comedically, “I’m kidding, if I were to die, I want you to take care of Mal.” Ben smiled, coming up behind Mal and hugging her.

“Good morning my Demoness.” Ben whispered. “Don't “Demoness” me. I told you not to stay up late talking to Hunter, and what did you do? Hmmm?” “stay up late talking to Hunter.”

“Exactly! This is what you get.” Mal said, Ben rolled his eyes and picked up Mal, slinging her over his shoulder.

“Ben Beastly! What are you doing!!” Mal yelled, Ben laughed. “They’re so cute.” Evie gushed, soon being picked up by Jasper. “Jasper!! Put me down you stupid Snake Boy!!!” Evie yelled.

“Hey Snake Boy, race ya!” Ben smirked, “you’re on!” Jasper smirked back as the two started running.

“Jasper!! This is f**king insance!!!”

“Ben!! I order you to put me down!”

The two boys didn't listen. That’s it!

Evie and Mal both kicked their boyfriends in the back, allowing the girls to fall to their feet. Both of the men laid on the ground, groaning.

“The hell is wrong with you two!!” the girls scolded. “Ow…” they groaned. “Ben, you’re supposed to be king! Why the hell would you do something so stupid!?” Mal scolded.

“Sorry, honey.” Ben apologized. “Mhm. And you Jasper! You’re such a stupid Snake Boy!”

“You’re wife’s crazy. And so is her best friend.” Zypher sighed.

Mal looked up to see a beautiful bustling city. “It’s the Demonic Islands!” Mal cheered, she grabbed Ben’s hand and ran in.

The VK’s, and Ben, walked around the Demonic Islands. The two demons felt different. Like how they felt during the red moon season.

Mal held onto Ben’s hand like it was gonna disappear. Ben looked at Mal questionably, “um, Mal? Are you okay?”

“Yeah, of course? Why do you ask?” Mal smiled innocently. “You’re not acting like yourself.” Ben said. “I feel fine.” Mal shrugged. Ben looked up at the sky, he chuckled “oooh.”

“So, it is because of the red moon huh?” Ben smirked. “Maybe~ maybe not,” Mal leaned in and whispered “you’ll just has to wait and see.”

Hunter sniffed the air intensively, searching for the cherry blossom scent that belonged to his Music Note. It only been a full day and Hunter felt like a piece of himself was pulled out of him.

Dammit! Where is she? Hunter growled to himself, there were too many smells in the air, it was hard to pinpoint Operetta’s smell.

He felt like it was red moon season all over again, he just wanted to be with Operetta. He didn't care what he had to go through or who he had to fight, he just wanted to be with her.

Jasper noticed how determined Hunter was, he knew Hunter loved Operetta with all his heart, he would do anything to get her back. It hurt Jasper to see his bestfriend like this.

“Hunter,” Jasper rested his hand on the demon’s shoulder, “what do you want?” Hunter asked.

“You look stress. Your magi is starting to show a little.” Jasper replied, pointing to Hunter’s hand that was coated in a dark red and black mist.

He could hear the whispers and murmurs of the townsfolk. Hunter sighed as he reigned in his magi, his hand turned back to normal.

He shook his head and kept walking, he was getting frustrated, he was tired, and frankly, he was hungry.

Hunter’s stomach growled, Jasper laughed, “no use searching on an empty stomach.”

The VK’s, and Ben, found a nearby diner called DRAGON’S FEAST. Mal looked at the sign and tilted her head, it was odd that a dragon themed restaurant was here in the Demonic Islands.

“You okay, Mal?” Ben questioned, Mal nodded and replied “something about this place...it calls out to me, ya know?”

“Not really...but if you say so.” Ben shrugged. “Let’s just go inside.” Mal said as they went inside, the restaurant had a very traditional chinese theme to it.

Lanterns hanged from the ceiling, all of this made Mal feel something, she couldn't describe it but she felt it. The group of 9 sat down at one of the tables.

“Hello.” The waitress greeted, Mal looked up at her, she had golden scales that acted liked skin, her eyes were sharp emerald green with almond shaped pupils.

Her hair was green, long and wavy, with black streaks. She wore a white polo shirt with a black tie and a black skirt. Her shoes however, they were lime green with black edges on them, which have lions for heels.

Mal stared at her intensively, studying her features. Why do I feel like I know her? Mal asked herself. “Um...miss?” the waitress asked, Mal snapped out of her thoughts.

“Are you okay?” she asked, Mal nodded. “Um, yeah, just...nevermind…I’ll have the…” Mal scanned the menu, her eyes locked onto the dish called Emerald Soup.

Mal licked her lips. She never liked emeralds before, amethyst was her favorite, but for some reason she wanted them more than anything.

“I’ll take the Emerald Soup.” Mal said, her mouth started to water. The waitress’s eyes widened, she clenched the menus tightly. She nodded and smiled.

“Aren’t you gonna get the other’s orders?” Mal asked. “I already got their orders when you were staring at me.” she said as she grabbed Mal’s menu and walked away.

“Since when do you eat emeralds? You like amethyst.” Ben stated. “I know, but something inside of me really wants emeralds.” Mal could feel her mouth water again.

“That girl seemed a little off, don't you think?” Mal said as the group shrugged. “She seemed fine to me.” Carlos said.

“Me too.” CJ agreed. “Honey, you’re the only one who think she’s weird. Are you sure everything’s okay?” Evie asked tenderly.

“Yeah, I’m fine, it’s just,” Mal looked at the table cover it was red and designed with dragons “never mind. I’m gonna get some air, call me when the foods here.”

Mal stepped outside, sitting on the bench outside the restaurant. She buried her head in her hands.

“What’s wrong with me?” Mal asked again. “Nothing’s wrong. But maybe it’s something with the red moon.” Midnight guessed.

“But last red moon, I always ate amethyst, I never ate emeralds.” Mal told her.

“You don't think...you’re pregnant?” Midnight asked. Mal’s eyes widened, she ran to the nearest convenience store and grabbed a pregnancy test, running to the counter, cutting in front of a woman in front of her.

“Excuse me?” The lady, now behind her, scowled. “Look lady, I need to take this test. K? Thanks.” Mal paid for the test. “Where-” “bathroom’s in the back.” the woman behind the counter said.

Mal ran into the bathroom, texted Evie to come over immediately, and unboxed the test.

After taking the test she placed it on the counter and sat on the bathroom rug.

Mal heard a knock on the door, she quickly opened it and Evie rushed in. “Did you check it?” Evie asked as Mal shook her head. “Can you do it?” Mal asked as Evie grabbed the test.

“It’s negative.”

Mal sighed in relief, she never felt more relieved in her life. “Oh thank the gods and goddesses. I love Ben, I really do, but I can't have his baby now.” Mal said.

“I know, Mally, I know.” Evie rubbed her back. “It’s funny, a little part of me wanted it to be positive. I don't know, Midnight got me think that this whole emerald thing was cravings.” Mal chuckled.

“Speaking of soup,” Evie brought out a container of emerald soup “here you go.” Mal snatched the bowl away from her and dug in.

“This is so good, I haven’t had this since the Queen Dragon Day Festival.” Mal muffled, her mouth filled with emeralds. Evie looked at her questionably “the hell is that?”

“I don't know, I don't even know why I said that.” Mal shook her head, the two got up and walked out of the convenience store, walking in the streets of the Demonic Islands.

“Hey!” A voice called out, Mal and Evie turned around to see a woman in a white dress with a black cloak on.

“You owe me some apples!” It was the same woman from the convenience store. “Look lady, I said I was sorry, jeez.” Mal tried to walk off but Mal was tackled.

“What’s your problem-” Mal looked up to see a familiar red hair.

“OPERETTA!?”
