'Grande Caramel Macchiato, please,' the man in front of Lisa paused then added, 'For Kookie.'

The name sent a jolt through her spine and she gasped, then shook her head.

What is going on with me?

She was stood in the queue at the local coffee shop, waiting for her daily does of caffeine. The one in front of her; she'd never seen him around.

Must be new.

'Excuse me,' the unknown man spoke, turning on his feet. Lisa wasn't sure what was happening; she either knows this stranger of a human, or... she hit her head this morning. The man was looking at her weirdly. 'Excuse me, miss, but I really need to go.' She was blocking his path.

'I-'

And the man stopped, blinking at her. He bore his eyes into hers, looking more confused by the second. 'Do I,' he breathed. 'Do I know you?'

Lisa's voice was small when she replied. 'No.'

He nodded, seemingly content with the answer. 'You look a little lost there, are you-'

'Caramel Macchiato for Kookie?' The loud voice made them both turn their heads.

'That's me,' He told Lisa, giving her a tiny smile before pivoting on one foot and leaving.

Lisa let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Her cheeks had flushed a deep red and a throbbing headache was forming behind her temple. She racked her brain, searching for recollections of the man she'd never known.
