Astrid was doubtful at first. She knew she should trust it, but with a plan like the one that they had, it was hard to not be a little doubtful. She watches the sky as a black figure flies off.

She sighs and gets off the boat. The villagers that had been at the docks look at the gang confused, as they weren't supposed to be back for another week.

Gobber lead them all through the folks and towards the Mead Hall. There, they see a man leaning against the side with his arms crossed. As people walk in and out of the Mead Hall, they glance curiously at the stranger.

He looks up when the group approaches. He doesn't smile. He doesn't frown. He displays no emotion, and the unnerves Astrid.

"Tha' friend of yer's out of sight?" Gobber asks. Hiccup looks at him and nods. Astrid stares at him and mentally yells at him to take off that stupid bandana. She just wants to see his face so she can know what he is thinking. She has always been good at reading him.

"Okay then. 'Ow about we get this over with." Gobber says and walks to the giant doors to the Mead Hall. The rest stay outside and wait for Gobber to walk back out.

When he does, he is leading another large man out. The man is a very big man with a red beard. He eyes Hiccup, showing no emotion in the process. Astrid mentally glares at them both. 'Runs in the family, I guess...'

"What is it you needed to show me Gobber? You know how busy I am today." The large man grumbles. Gobber rolls his eyes and starts walking down the many stairs.

He leads them all to a secluded area. Nobody is nearby and it is almost quiet. Nobody but Hiccup seems to notice the black figure hiding in the trees. It's bright green eyes watch them all, making sure that no harm comes to his human.

"Gobber, quit this nonsense, I have chiefly duties to attend to."

"Oh hush Stoick. We both know that you need a little break from babysittin' the villagers." Stoick doesn't argue with him on that one.

"Then can you at least tell me why you dragged me all the way out here?"

Gobber sighs. "Fine. While we were on our trip, we came across something. Something that may take yeh interest." Gobber says. Astrid notices how he glances over to where Hiccup is standing. Stoick also seems to notice, as his hand goes instantly to his side, where is hammer should be resting. But his hand meets air. He looks confused for a moment before his glare is set on the boy who stands there, seemingly unbothered.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Stoick growls to the man. The man doesn't look up, as he doesn't seem intimidated by the chief's glare and tone. The other's feeling the air get tense by a lot, all start taking a few steps back, until they decide that Hiccup and his father have enough space in case they decide to bash it out, Viking style.

The man finally looks up, his bright Jade eyes meeting the much darker green eyes. Father and son exchange an unflinching stare, neither willing to back down.

"What are you doing on my island? Reveal yourself!" Stock bellows. The others look back and forth, completely in a trance, watching the drama unfold.

Hiccup doesn't move for a solid minute, then he pulls down his bandana, not breaking their stare. Stoick's brow furrows, confused.

"Yeah... Tha' is wha' I was talkin' abou'." Gobber says awkwardly.

"Hiccup?" Stock says, hopeful.

Hiccup stares at his father with a blank look, until he nods. Stock beams, runs up and hugs Hiccup in a bone crushing hug. Hiccup, wide-eyed, struggles to breathe and break free.

Stock let's him go and Hiccup bends over, resting his hands on his knees, trying to regain his breath.

"Hiccup, where have you been? Why did you leave?" Stoick's bombards him with questions and Hiccup steadily growing more and more uncomfortable. Gobber seems to notice Hiccup's reaction. He interrupts Stoick, mid-sentence.

"Stoick, don't overwhelm the poor boy." Stoick nods and looks back at Hiccup.

"Hiccup, where have you been for the last five years?"

He looks at his father, unsure whether or not to answer. "Away," was all that he said. Stoick doesn't look satisfied with his answer.

Stock trying again with a different question: "Why did you leave?"

Hiccup suddenly seems to find his feet very interesting. "I... um... didn't feel like... I belonged... here."

"Why are you..." Stoick starts confused.

Astrid interrupts him this time, saving Hiccup from being even more uncomfortable. "How about you let him start from the beginning, yeah?"
