day five

Nine days before.

Adrian walks tiredly into the kitchen. She didn't see Harry laying beside her, holding her close to his chest like he usually is doing once she wakes up in the morning. It was somewhat disappointing. The house is quiet, and he's no where in sight. The girl runs a hand through her short, brunette hair and blinks to clear her vision from the blurry spots she's seeing because of her exhaustion.

She walks out the front door before looking out from the grassy plain to see if the man is outside. She squints her eyes and sure enough, he sits on the ground, his back turned to her and broad shoulders hunched. A small smile forms on her face because of him and she begins to walk over to his figure.

"Good morning babe." Adrian says quietly, her voice raspy because she has just awoke. Harry tenses before turning around slowly. A small smile forms on his cherry, red lips and he gets up from the ground. Adrian glances down at the item he holds tightly in his hand and frowns. The man embraces her, her head being buried into his broad shoulder, before he pulls back. She looks down at his hand again and swallows. "What were you writing?" Harry lifts up the book and opens it, beginning to scan through the worn out pages.

He shrugs and looks back up at his girlfriend. "Just for work." Adrian nods and rubs her eyes, attempting to get the sleep out of them.

"Cool." she sighs before slowly taking his large hand into hers and entwining their fingers together. Her stomach flutters from the warmness of his palm and she begins to lead him away from the chilly winds that whip around outside to inside of the warm flat. "How come you woke up so early?" Adrian asks once they were back inside, there hands still entwined as she looks up at him with curiosity.

Harry sighs. "I just couldn't fall back asleep." Adrian bites her lip and nods again, looking away. "Have you eaten?" he asks quickly. Adrian darts her gaze back up at him and shakes her head. Harry raises his brows and tightens his grip around her smaller hand. "Well, lucky for you, I am the greatest chef there is." Adrian chuckles and pulls her hand away from his gently. She watches Harry puts his journal onto the counter before putting his hands on his hips in a motherly way.

"I guess I am lucky. What're you going to make." Harry smirks and walks into the kitchen, Adrian following happily.

"On the menu there is eggs, bacon, pancakes and, my heart." Adrian shakes her head as she sits on top of the stool behind the island of the kitchen. She is unable to see the goofy grin on Harry's face as his back is turned to her once again.

"You are so cheesy Styles."

"It's my specialty Summers." Harry says as he begins to take out the supplies for the girls breakfast. "Now shoo while I make this. It's a surprise."

"Its not really a surprise anymore, Ha-"

"Get out of the kitchen." Harry snaps. Adrian raises her arms in defense and walks out the room with a small smile on her lips. She leans against the wall just beside the door, listening as the pots and pans clatter around in the room. She smiles brightly as she thinks if the man that stands in there, making her breakfast.

Five years ago, when they were just teenagers in a high school, she never thought it would come to be this way years later. He was just that boy in her History class and she was just that nerdy girl that was classified as, the teachers pet.

Adrian judged him. Thinking he was one of those guys that didn't care about anyone but himself. However, when she got to know the boy better, seeing the emotions that swirled in his beautiful emerald eyes like a hurricane, she couldn't help but want to know him.

That fateful day when she saw him finally break, letting out all his secrets, betrayals, regrets and emotions, she felt heartbroken. It's a day she will never forget.

Adrian noticed how kind and gentle he was. How much he cared about others more than he cared about himself. For five years, he hasn't changed one bit.

She is completely and utterly in love with the man, and her feelings won't change, not even in a century. Adrian blinks and jumps a little when she notices the bright irises that stare back at her as she smiles. Harry grins and places his hands on either side of her head against the wall. "What're you thinking?" Harry whispers, his deep voice, raspy. He leans closer to her face and her heart flutters from the contact of his breath to her cold skin.

Adrian shakes her head and swallows. "Nothing." she says softly, flickering her gaze to his lips before darting them back up into his eyes.

"Come on." Harry urges, speaking softly. "I want to know what's going on in that mind of yours." Adrian parts her lips and looks away from Harry, embarrassed by the situation. His slender finger lifts her head, making her eyes look into his again. "Tell me." Adrian sighs and smiles slightly.

"I-I was just thinking about the past." she finally responds. Harry nods and leans away from her, back into his normal standing position.

"What about the past?" he speaks lowly. Adrian shrugs again.

"Just when we met." Harry smirks.

"Yeah, that was great. Wasn't it?" Adrian nods with a smile.

"Yeah, it was." She walks away from the wall to the small dining table with only two chairs across from each other, enough for the couple.

"Is that all you were thinking?" Adrian hesitantly shakes her head as she takes a seat. A warm plate of pancakes, eggs and bacon sit on the small tabletop. Adrian takes in the mouth watering scent. She watches as Harry walks and sits across from her, and notices he doesn't have a plate. "What else were you thinking about then?"

Adrian sighs and looks down at the plate. "When you told me your past." Silence is heard from Harry. The girl slowly looks up through her long lashes, a frown is etched onto Harry's lips as he stares at the table, his brows furrowed. "Remember that?" Harry blinks and looks up at Adrian. He begins to nod slowly, remembering it all.

"Yeah, I definitely remember that." the man says quietly. He flickers his gaze onto the plate that sits on the table in front of the beautiful girl he loves no matter what and swallows before licking his chapped lips. "Why don't you eat now? Your foods getting cold." he says, smiling again at her, changing the mood drastically.
