46: Odd eyes

Ignore mistakes, please

Third person P.O.V

"Sire. I found something." Elder Lee had his head lower, a booklet in his hands which felt quite old because of all the yellow papers it showed.

After Taehyung left with Jimin, Jungkook couldn't do anything else except focus on each and every word his human mate threw at him in rage. Even if it was rage, he believed that he must've gone through the worst in the place to act all feral after having his limits broken.

Residing inside his silent room, he just stared at the wall where a visible crack was a painful reminder of the night he made Taehyung go through terror. How much he was trying to explain, but his wolf didn't let him, all while screaming in his mind to stay put because their mate was bluffing lies?! And what did he do? He let his wolf do whatever he wanted to... even when the other side was a bit off, fighting as well, yet he couldn't understand much at that moment. It was such a shame.

"Sire?" Not receiving any reply from their leader, Jimin softly called him after seeing a frown on Lee's face.

Blinking slowly when he was back to reality, Jungkook hummed lightly, keeping his eyes focused on his hands now, the same hands he used to throw the fragile body at the hard wall...

"Jimin, can you leave us alone? I want to talk with Sire." It was not very much appreciated, but he had to follow.

Once out of the room, he felt the room out of his limits to hear anything inside, and that made him sigh in defeat. Slumping on the couch in the living room, his mind wandered off to the words Taehyung said to Jungkook, to him, and then to Hoseok. Now, noticing it all, he was aware of one thing, something big was hidden from their eyes.

Jungkook's wolf was always a bit of a hassle to control, but now, when Taehyung was his mate, he couldn't be this harsh with his family... his mate. There was someone else playing a major role, even twisting their senses as well. But who?

Lee took a soft breath before placing the old booklet beside Jungkook, who was on the floor. "Sire, after searching all night, I found this in very old records of my grandfather."

When he noticed that Jungkook wasn't saying anything, he continued after licking his lips. "If you remember, he was adamant about making some secret spells along with the witch friend of his before the whole chaos broke between the two clans, and the witch was killed during that."

The mention of that event that changed the whole bond was really saddening. Decades ago, when someone planted a seed of hate between two clans, their friendship turned into pure animosity, leading to the worst war of the time and the loss of many witches, warlocks, and werewolves. The leaders of the two clans were killed during the war as well, and after many tries by some elders, the war stopped with a strict rule of staying disconnected forever. It still brings a whole lot of emotional issues to mention in front of elders who lost their loved ones in the war that was ignited by a traitor, burning down a beautiful friendship among people and leading to their downfall.

Elder Lee gulped thickly to keep his own emotions in control because he lost his father in that war, and stared at Jungkook.

Having a twitch of brow in the form of a response, Lee opened a specific page with the utmost care, not to shred it in the process. "Seems like he finished making that spell on his own after her death."

Frowning at the list of things written there with a recipe-like formula, Jungkook glanced at the elder. "What's that spell about?"

Now, this was the thing that made the elder quite nervous in front of the leader, knowing well of his anger issues. "Sire... After reading it thoroughly and consulting some more books, I believe this spell is... um, this spell is to make someone able to bear a child."

Giving a glare at the words, Jungkook got up, to which Lee stepped back instantly. "Someone? Omegas and females? What's so odd about it?"

"Not werewolves, Sire." Jungkook rubbed his temple, already feeling agitated, and the elder wasn't helping at all.

"Be clear, Elder Lee. Why are you telling me this all?"

It wasn't a lie, Lee shrunk in fear at the low growl but managed to stay put because the main thing was still to reveal. "Sire, remember I told you that Luna is under some heavy spell, and that spell could be making him hallucinate. I apologize for that because now I believe this isn't the case with him."

Taking the booklet in his hands, he pointed his finger at some words that Jungkook read quietly with a deep frown settled on his face, only having his eyes widen the next second.

"The spell made his scent dull, too dull to notice his emotions, making it prone to be scented by anyone else easily besides bearing your mark." Now Jungkook's lips parted as he continued reading further on the pages, all while listening to the elder closely.

"Luna was made to have something to get this spell cast on him so heavily that we all didn't notice the physical changes in his body. The bleeding... the bleeding was not just because he was bearing the spell, but..." Gulping thickly, the elder hung his head low, preparing himself mentally for the raging wolf.

"But?"

"Someone wanted to make his body ready to bear a child, sire." Jungkook almost crumbled the old page in his palm, reading the contexts and hearing the words his wolf declared bluffing when Taehyung said the same.

"Now, after reading the case thoroughly, I believe the spell is not working well, causing his organs to get injured internally... the reason for the bleeding, and this is dangerous for Luna." That's it, the raven-haired didn't wait a second and marched forth to the door, leaving the elder standing inside, who let out a breath.

Jimin panicked to see Jungkook rushing out of the room to him, and he frowned to notice the tears in them again.

"Keys, give me car keys!"

"I'll take you there -"

"Just give me the keys!" Jimin nodded hastily, going out to get the demanded keys he kept with himself after dropping Taehyung, but halted to the buzz in his pockets. Yeonjun was calling him, and he knew better than to ignore it when the other was on a grave duty.

"Yeonjun, is everything alright?"

"No, hyung... his friend took him somewhere and -"

"And?!" It was Jungkook who had the phone in his hand after hearing the name of Yeonjun, well aware that he was guarding Taehyung.

"S - sire, the fog made us lose the track. We can't even smell any of them. The place is deserted. What should I do?!"

"YEONJUN!"

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, sire. I tried calling before, too, but the signals dropped, and suddenly, the track was too foggy for even our sight." The young alpha was crying, and Soobin was trying to make him calm.

"Where are you now?!"

•••••••••••~

After being thrown inside a room, Taehyung was just sitting in a corner of the small bed, ragging his brain to pinpoint where he failed to believe someone who was just reaching him to harm.

Wangji, the person who was nothing but his mental strength all this while came out as the same person who was roaming thirsty to make him suffer. But what could he do now? Mourning will bring him nothing.

Tugging his own already ruffled hair, he let his head hit the wall behind him when the door of the room opened, revealing the person he was waiting to face.

With collected steps, Wangji went to him, keeping his head high as if he hadn't just betrayed in the name of friendship, and it irked the blue-haired to the core. It was really unlikely of him, but he did the thing he never did before, he punched... he punched hard on the jaw of the taller male after jumping at him.

Wangji kept his face on the other side. The impact left him rendered to do anything for a moment. "Shame on your tactics, XIAO WANGJI, SHAME ON YOU!"

He didn't cry... he wasn't going to cry after hearing good news in the morning... he promised to stay strong but he lost it... he lost it when Wangji turned to him with teary eyes.

"That's for the good, Taehyung." The tears turned into agony, and he again launched at the other to punch hard, making his lip bleed.

Panting after the hard exertion of energy, Taehyung blankly stared at Wangji, who lightly rubbed the sore muscles before smiling. "Your punch is not that light. Good, you know how to throw hands."

With disbelief swarming in his eyes, Taehyung took hold of the other's collar, making his body jerk forward with the force. "What is your intention?! Why did you bring me here? What sort of deal is it? And... and what you are?"

The questions poured out, but he stumbled at the last one for a slight moment, almost getting scared for his fate if those white eyes meant what he feared of... he would be a goner in no time at nowhere to be found.

Closely watching as a wave of emotions passed through Taehyung's eyes, with the grip loosening on the collar, Wangji took the lead and in the next second, Taehyung was on the bed with him locking his body completely, stopping it from moving freely.

"Get off me! WANGJI-"

"Taehyung, don't make it difficult for yourself." The said male let a broken chuckle out, his tears spilling during the thrashing he was doing to free himself.

"Do you think it's not difficult already? For real, Xiao Wangji?" The quivering of his voice had the other just look frozen when he continued. "What did I even do to come across you all? Where did I lack in our friendship? Wasn't it just a normal - normal relationship? Or am I cursed?" Biting his trembling lower lip, Taehyung lay there like a rag doll, stopping every sort of struggle.

"At least, tell me what you want from me." The sudden drop of emotions in his voice and eyes had the other by surprise as if he admitted his defeat... he admitted his loss in everything.

With a little hesitation, a hand was placed over Taehyung's forehead, and even when he wanted to yank it away, he just lay there until his eyes closed from the world of reality and opened into a world he never wished to be in.... an unwanted world.

•••○○○•••

"Sire, we lost them here. We searched the whole place but there is no trace of them." Soobin was the one to explain with his head hung low because Yeonjun was too guilty to even face their Sire.

Jungkook's eyes were again changing colors from red to black as he took deep breaths, only to curse because indeed... he wasn't able to feel his mate. He was too blinded by the betrayal to even notice this much of a big difference.

The wolf inside was fighting to be set free, raging again, not clear either for Taehyung's safety or because he was with someone else, and at that moment, Jungkook knew, his link with his other sides was as weak as a spider web, that kept him tangled in it for years, but now, he had to take the steps to get out of the web.

The claws were coming out, but he just clenched his fists, trying to control his emotions, adamant to keep his wolf away when his mate needed him, just Jungkook.

'Let me out, I'll find our mate, please.'

The voice begged inside his mind, taking him by surprise because that voice never seemed to be there. It definitely wasn't his wolf begging, but...

"Sire?" Soobin stepped back when Jungkook's head hung low,... his claws retreating and curls hiding his eyes, and honestly, the dark aura around him made him alert.

Yeonjun shared a concerned glance before taking his phone out, and dialing SeokJin's contact because Jungkook was acting strange. But to their utter disbelief, the view in front of them was totally unexpected, making them step back more when the raven-haired advanced.

"S... Sire, your eyes." Jungkook didn't hear them, and before they knew it, they were left alone, with a rush of air passing by them in an instant. Jungkook was gone... he just disappeared with his odd eyes... one normal,

and one white.
