Third person P.O.V
Groaning at the sore muscles after a good night's sleep, Taehyung opened his eyes only to find himself in his own room.
Wait-
Sprinting up at the warm walls of his own room welcoming him, the blue-haired squinted his eyes, rubbing them again only to find himself in the same place.
"When did I come here?!" Throwing the blanket away, shuddering at the cool feeling seeping into his body, Taehyung got out of bed. It was 7 in the morning, but he couldn't remember when and how he reached his house. The last thing he recalled was...
"What was that?"
It all felt blank, making him rush out to his small living room to find it without any presence, and so was his kitchen devoid of any person. It meant he was alone, but how did he even get here, also at night to get up in his bed early morning?
Not finding any satisfactory answers to his questions, he simply decided to freshen up first and start his day. Just like that, he had a warm shower before getting ready for his university, all while clutching his phone close, dialing a specific contact only to find it switched off.
"What's happening?" Huffing at the lack of response, he jumped on the next contact, which answered.
"Hyung? Where are you?!"
Even though the voice was hushed, the panic was clear in that.
"I'm at my place, Junie. I d -"
"Stay there. I'm coming. Just don't tell anyone about that for now. I'm on my way." It was the very first-time Taehyung heard that oddly stern tone of the usually soft-spoken alpha, almost leaving him speechless.
"OK."
Slumping back on the bed, he spaced out. He recalled being in his room, and maybe someone came to meet him as well. But who? And then how did he come here?
"Don't tell me I sleepwalked again!" Gaping at the mild guess, the blue-haired fell back on the mattress.
It was years ago when he started sleepwalking, and it went to some dangerous level of him being found on main roads. It was such a frightening time, but his grandparents worked hard to keep an eye on him. But the point was, it was so back in time, and he was completely cured, if it can be said. The second thing, the way to the pack, was highly guarded with thick vegetation surrounding it. He doesn't even remember it quite often. Then how can he cross the boundary and reach his house safe and sound?
The loud bang on his door was the source of bringing him back from his spiral thoughts. And unexpectedly, there stood Jungkook with a hood covering his head and half of his face, and no one behind him.
Blinking at the dark aura surrounding the male after so long, Taehyung was at a loss of words for the second time within half an hour.
Without exchanging any words, Jungkook turned back to the car, which had the door opened already, and it was the silent 'come on' that Taehyung followed after locking the door of his house, still puzzled.
This ride to the pack had been one of the most awkward ones as compared to the previous times. The silence was suffocating. Hence, the human broke it.
"Hyung. If I say, I don't remember what happened last night and how did I end up in my room, would you believe me?" Taehyung felt his heart beating up in his throat even when there was silence after minutes of his question.
"Hyung -"
"How are you feeling?" Taehyung frowned, finding the question out of the topic but still answered.
"I'm good. But what about - "
The loud screech indicated that they had reached the pack boundary with houses standing in front of their sight.
"I've got to go somewhere. You go ahead and don't leave the house."
With confusion-filled gaze, the blue-haired kept watching Jungkook, many words staying at the tip of his tongue, but not coming out to deliver properly at the sight of being ignored.
Sighing tiredly for not getting any attention, he moved his heavy hands to open the door and left the car. What left his heart in a deep abyss was the quick reverse of the car before it vanished away from his sight. It wasn't the car that left him in the remnants of the dust, but his mate, who was clearly avoiding him for unknown reasons... and it was breaking his heart, slowly but steadily.

Later that night, when Jimin came with his dinner after he refused breakfast and lunch from a new maid, he almost broke down at the heaviness that was just drowning his mind along with his heart. It took all of his efforts to stay collected when the blond beta gave him a small smile that screamed fake, assuring him that something was really off.
"Jimin, do you know what happened last night?" Just when Jimin was about to leave after pleading with him to eat, he croaked out. The broken voice definitely halted the beta.
"I don't know, Luna." That was the time Taehyung gave up on asking any further because just like his mate left him standing in the dust, Jimin left him sitting in the sea of puzzles.
The dinner was forgotten on the table when he raked his brain to remember anything, any small thing from the previous night only to revert back at nothing. Reluctantly, he picked up his phone to call Yeonjun again. Maybe he would say something, but to his dismay, his call wasn't answered.
After trying Soobin and Hyuna's contact, he was left with only two people to rant out his burdensome feelings. Once the call was picked up by one of them, he took a shaky breath.
"Tae. How are you? Dude, you almost forgot me. Do you even know that I exist?"
The same bubbly and chirping voice made him realize that he could not burden him with his own worries. So, the previous plan to rant out turned back to normal chatting with Hoseok, who mostly complained and asked him to meet on the weekend.
The call did some work to calm him for the time, but just as it ended, his mood was back to being sour. Now, having the option to contact the last person, he stared at it for a long time before falling on his pillow when a shooting pain struck him.
It took a few minutes when it was all over as if it had never happened, but his sweat-soaked face and neck told the otherwise.
"What is wrong with me? It's definitely not only the food." It's been days, and the intensity of the pain was just getting worse. During the past days, he was too occupied to pay attention to it, but now feeling as if all of his energy was gone with the pain, it definitely caught his much-needed attention, even in this chaos.
"Luna. Our pack boundaries are under attack!" The loud shriek of Neena made him jolt up from the bed when the girl frantically knocked at his door.
Opening the door, he found the girl sweating, her eyes clearly sparkling with tears and her limbs shaking.
"Why are you shaking? It would be fine, Neena."
"No, you are not understanding it, Luna. Our guards are badly injured, some are even dead, and all the alphas have already left for the boundaries. Omegas are panicking, and I'm failing to calm them." The omega cried out. Her words left a huge impact on the human who had never heard it all before.
"Dead?"
Neena gulped, rubbing her hands together before she bowed. "Apologies, Luna. I want you to follow me. You need to be there to make them calm." Taehyung nodded, feeling jittery as well, but yes, he had some duties to fulfill, because he was the mate of the pack leader and a human with a heart.
"Let's go."
•••••••••••
"All set?" A chilly tone resonated inside the place, making the other person bow with a small smirk plastered on their face.
"All set."
"Let's check what he can do." The eerie silence once again fell in place, as if no one ever talked there for a long time.
••••••••••
"This way, Luna." Taehyung followed as fast as his shaky legs could do at that time. Just the thought of being attacked by a bunch of beasts when he can't even protect himself, what can he do for those omegas?
Those thoughts were running inside his brain, not noticing where he was going. Not until a firm hand landed on his shoulder, definitely, to make him halt. Turning on his heels, he didn't expect to see the person standing there with a deep scowl on his face.
"What are you doing here?!" Taehyung almost flinched at the cold tone, something he almost forgot about the male by now after his softest treatment in previous weeks.
"I -" For a brief moment, the human forgot everything else, but the good thing, he recalled soon, making his eyes go wide in horror.
"You are alright?! They... she said the pack is under attack and -"
"What? What are you babbling? I clearly told you to stay inside the house. Hadn't I?!" The way that perfect jaw clenched despite the low tone, Taehyung knew that the male was beyond disappointed. But he had a reason to leave.
"Hyung, Neena told me that -"
"Sire! Ah, you found him. Such a relief." The said girl came behind Jungkook, her hair perfectly tied in a bun, and the dress...
Her dress is different now.
"Neena, you can go back. And make sure no one knows about this incident." The girl bowed to both of them after muttering an assuring yes before disappearing behind the trees, the moment Taehyung realized that he almost crossed the border of the pack.
The firm tug on his wrist, made him gasp when he was dragged to the house, and in a jiffy, he was almost pushed towards the bed in their shared room.
With uncertainty in his wide, innocent eyes, Taehyung gaped at the older male who was busy taking deep breaths as if trying to calm himself. "Hyung, why are you being so angry? I didn't do anything wrong this time. Neena told me that our pack borders were under attack, and I should go to calm omegas. I was just following her."
"No, this isn't true, Taehyung. Nothing like this happened. No one is under attack and," Jungkook's eyes got darker when he turned to face the younger human. "Neena would never ask you to come out in this situation when I'd never allow that."
Understanding that he was being blamed for something he hadn't done, Taehyung looked down, feeling his heart hurting with both anger and disappointment.
"She came to me and said that our guards are badly injured... some are even dead, and all the alphas have already left to the boundaries. Omegas are panicking. She told me to go with her and I did." Phrasing every word he remembered clearly, he tried only to jump back in shock when Jungkook punched the side table, breaking the wooden furniture in an instant.
"Don't lie, Kim Taehyung! What could you do? You need protection! You can't protect!"
Taehyung almost stumbled back when the older marched towards him with hasty steps, only to stop at a foot distance. "She was with me in the omega center for the past hour because Taesoo is very sick, and Jimin was with Yoongi hyung!"
His hands were slightly trembling, not because of the fear... because he saw broken trust in those eyes which were filled with love for him before. "I'm not lying." He barely managed a whisper, not able to make eye contact with the older.
A loud sigh left Jungkook's lips when his hands tossed his curls back more harshly than usual. "You are not allowed to leave the pack for a certain time. No more words."
Saying, or more like ordering that, Taehyung was left standing in the room all alone when the raven-haired went to the bathroom to shower because the water was running inside.
As if no energy was remaining, Taehyung fell back on the bed. Just a few minutes, only a few minutes he managed to have with Jungkook after so long, and this is what happened. He was left speechless... almost lifeless.
••••••○••••••
In the next two days, Taehyung was almost bound inside the room, where Jungkook barely came. It felt like he was back to zero, just like the day one when he was brought into this place, which felt very strange now... just like that in the past.
The new maid was delivering his meals that he didn't feel like eating because of his abdominal pain, which was getting worse, until Jungkook made an appearance when he was just lying on the bed, on a call with Wangji, who just cracked a joke and made him giggle after finding his gloomy voice not so good.
A loud scoff made him turn on his side to find Jungkook staring at him, and oddly, that stare made him shiver. "I'll call you later, bye." Ending the call, he sat up on the bed.
"Why are you not eating?" Again, that cold voice.
"I'm having trouble digesting the food, that's why." He kept his voice neutral despite wanting to sound salty for being ignored, after being wronged.
"So, now you are accusing that our food is not good for you?" Taehyung frowned deeply at the twisted words. Getting up from the bed completely, he walked to the older male who still looked indifferent.
"I'm just telling you what I'm feeling. I've been suffering from abdominal pain for the past weeks." The slight hurt in his voice caught Jungkook by surprise.
"Weeks? And you didn't even tell me." The piercing gaze was doing it again, hurting his heart.
"Because you are already too busy to even come back in our room or talk to me. I don't want to burden you more. You are already protecting me, after all." Those words felt bitter, but still, he managed a small smile.
Just like the words left a bitter taste on his tongue, they left a distasteful expression on Jungkook's face, too. Maybe he shouldn't have said that when the other was already so worried about many things. Licking his lips at the tension-filled silence, Taehyung decided to divert the topic, but never ever thought to hear the words next, that definitely broke something inside.
"You know that I can feel your emotions and pain, Taehyung, and you are making me disappointed to know that you are saying to be in pain when I can't feel it."
"You... you are saying that I'm faking it?" Blinking with shock, Taehyung felt at the loss of words for the nth time in front of the older male, but painfully, this time it was so hurtful. "Means... I'm not in pain just because you aren't feeling it? I... I'm lying about it?"
No, he wasn't being oversensitive, but the words left a deep wound on his heart that only yarns to be in the embrace of Jungkook, and now when he was called a liar again, he felt dejected... broken. Where did that caring Jungkook go?
Jungkook's eyes shifted for a second, only to be back as the cold gaze. "I just want to know the reason, Taehyung. Why are you doing that? For that friend of yours? Yes, it must be him. Even when I told you to stay away from him, you never stopped and left the pack at night without informing me! Seems like you still don't like me and my people." Taehyung's mouth went agape at that.
"Do you even know what you are saying?! I have been bearing those piercing gazes of your people every time I left the house. I'm the one listening to them whispering about how pathetic and weak I am to be their Luna! I'm the one being mocked and staying locked in the house like a coward! And you are saying that I don't like you and your people?! It's totally the opposite, Jeon Jungkook! Your people don't like me, and I'm sure Neena played that prank on me to make me look bad in your eye -"
"Stop it!" The shell-shocked human stumbled back in fright when those red eyes shone brightly as Jungkook advanced to leave no space between them. "Not a single word against my people, Kim Taehyung. I can't bear it."
At that moment with soaring pain in his heart, Taehyung realized... he realized that he was still an outsider in the pack, and maybe that was the last straw of his weakening patience because he pushed the older away with all of his power and rushed out to the other room, his phone still clutched in his palm which he used to dial a contact after locking the door begging.
"H- hey, can you pick me up from the location I'm sending to you?"
It could be a wrong decision, but finding those red blazing eyes threatening him, he knew it wasn't his place to fight back. So, getting some space was a better option than arguing back... after all, he was an outsider with no one on his side in the place.
