Chapter 21: Burning Trash? Uh, yeah, I Sure Hope He is.
The first match of the finals between Midoriya Izuku and Shinsou Hitoshi had officially started, and from what Kula could tell it fight end without a fight. Currently, Midoriya was walking to the edge of the stadium, his face void of all emotion.
"What's he doing?" Mika asked from beside Kula as she watched the round.
"I don't blame him personally, that Shinsou guy looks kinds scary." Kishi muttered.
"Ah, you're scared of almost everyone." Mika said, "He just looks extremely tired, like Eraser Head. Honestly, I don't blame him. What I'm concerned about is that Midoriya's heading straight out of bounds, maybe it's Shinsou's quirk?"
"Maybe? But what could it be? A commanding quirk? Brainwashing maybe?"
"Probably mind control." Mika answered.
Kula glanced at the two as they started talking about what possible support devices might help him. Wanting to join in on the conversation, but also not feeling like she would be welcome into it, Kula stood up from her seat to wonder the halls of the stadium once again. Thinking about it, she probably would of been welcome into the conversation, but Kula felt as if she didn't feel like she would fit in.
"Kula! Wait!" Kishi shouted running up to her and making her turn around. "I've been meaning to ask you about this since the Calvary Battle, but you kept on disappearing and then it slipped from my mind and then I got distracted and then—"
"Kishi, I don't have all day." Kula said as she rolled her eyes. "You seriously need to stop rambling."
"A-ah! Right, I'm working on that, but not the question! During the battle, your cheeks, or blush I guess, was gold! Is that part of your quirk?"
Kula didn't want to deal with Kishi trying to figure out her quirk, so she just sighed and turned back around, "I don't know, you decide that." She answered before she started walking away again, her hands in her pockets with her nails digging into her palms as she thought about her quirk. Taking in a deep breath before letting it out, she calmed herself down slightly and started to wonder around the stadium.
As she was walking, her phone buzzed and she pulled it out of her pocket, seeing that Kishi had texted her.
Annoying Sunshine
Ahh! You missed the best part of the battle!!!!
Kula
Hm, and that was?
Annoying Sunshine

Then he flipped Shinso over his shoulder and got him

Kula

do something like that
Annoying Sunshine

Kula
Thanks
With that, Kula put her phone back in her pocket, looking around to see where she had walked to. It seemed as if she was standing near one of the entrances to get onto the field, though it seemed like she wasn't alone. Around the corner a heterochromatic boy was walking onto the field— Kula assumed his battle was next, though what caught her attention was a hero leaning against the wall, the number two hero, Endevor, to be exact.
Stopping and glancing around the corner in the hallway, Kula eavesdropped on what he was saying to the boy.
"—acting disgracefully, Shoto." Endevor said as the boy, Todoroki Shoto, Endevor's son Kula recognized, walked along the hallway. "If you used the power in your left side, you would of won both the obstacle course and the cavalry battles stop this childish rebellion already. You have a duty to surpass All Might. Do you understand? You're different from your siblings. You are the greatest masterpiece!"
Listening to Endevor ramble on, Kula felt rage start to build up, the way he acted towards his own son reminded her of how her parents treated her. As an object for them to get what they want, an object that they can use to their heart's content.
"Is that all you have to say, bastard? I will win and advance with just mom's power. I won't use your power when I fight."
"Even if that works for now, you'll soon reach the limits of that power." Endevor said, with that, Kula heard footsteps making their way towards her, and she pushed herself off the wall and walked past the hallway that the two were talking in. She glanced in and made eye contact with the flaming hero, who stopped and looked at her and a stern expression.
"You. You're Saito Kula, correct?" He asked, "The one who was involved in the USJ incident?"
Kula's fists tightened with rage and regret in her pockets as he spoke to her, but she managed to keep her face neutral.
"I don't know why they allowed you into this school. That principal needs to get his quirk checked if they let a villain into U.A." He scoffed, walking past Kula without a second thought.
"You're Endeavor, the number two hero, right?" Kula asked, having trouble keeping her voice level as she spoke, her eyes cold as she watched him tense slightly.
"Yes, that's right." He said tightly.
"You're a hero?"
"What are you trying to say, little girl?" Endeavor asked, his voice getting dangerously low.
"I'm surprised that the government actually gave you a hero license and let you become a hero. I thought burning trash was illegal. They need to get their laws checked."
The expression on Endeavor's face turned to one of rage, and Kula knew then that if she didn't run at that very moment, she would most likely be found dead on the news. So she ran. She ran as fast as her feet would take her, not stopping for a second.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck, Kula thought as she ran, taking random twists and turns through the hallways. "Hi Toshinori, bye Toshinori!" She shouted as she ran past Recovery girl's office where the blond skeletal man had just walked out of.
"Young Saito, what did you do this time?" He called out after her with his voice in a slight panic, though Kula was too far gone to respond to his question, only to leave him in complete and utter confusion.
When she finally stopped running, she had managed to get back to where her class was sitting, taking deep breaths to calm her heart rate, "Holy shit I actually called the Number two hero a flaming piece of trash, holy shit." She whispered to herself.
"Kula, you alright? You look like you just ran a marathon." Mika said, causing Kula to look up at her.
"Everything's fine." Kula said curtly.
Mika looked at her in disbelief, "Come on, let's take a walk. That Todoroki guy froze have the field in a giant glacier and it's gonna be a bit before the next match— it's yours next, right?"
Kula just nodded.
Mika smiled slightly. "Well, let's get you prepared for it." She said, "I think I know what his quirk is."
***
"Electricity, huh?" Kula asked, placing a hand to her chin. The two of them had gotten some drinks form a vending machine and were now sitting in Waiting room 2, talking about Kula's opponent.
Mika nodded. "Yeah, I saw it when we were fighting against the smaller robots. I don't know the extent, but he seemed to get... slower as he kept on using his quirk. And he was giving everyone a thumbs up afterwards."
"So he ends up short circuiting his brain..." Kula muttered to herself. "If I can somehow get him to use his quirk enough, I can easily push him out of the arena."
Mika gave Kula a toothy grin. "You know it!"
There was a knock at the door and the two of them watched as it opened and Kishi walked in. "They're almost done melting the ice! You're gonna be up soon!" Kishi exclaimed, walking up and sitting next to Mika. "You got this, Kula, I believe in you!"
"Thanks." Kula said simply. "Wish me luck."
