What We Left Behind
Title: What We Left Behind
Author: stxrkissed
Description:
Everything requires sacrifices.
This is what Fei Hong grew up learning, and this is what she tells herself as she leaves Earth to set foot on a different planet in the far edges of the vast galaxy. With Earth's resources dwindling, and her grandmother sick, Fei Hong makes the ultimate sacrifice that leads her to Erisua, a thriving planet full of opportunities. Erisua is a new world, one that comes at a hefty cost, for Fei Hong must give up everything she knows and loves for another life in another world.
But everything comes with a price, and hers is the lingering feeling of not belonging in a world that seems to have grown without her-a world that throws her yet again into the tumulous hands of fate, especially when she comes across a boy with grey eyes and a secret to hide.

I love your title for its connections to the storyline as a whole. It ties in not only to the life Fei Hong left behind, but also to the memories her grandmother left behind on Earth. However, while Fei Hong is left to move on from the past, her grandmother is being pulled back into it, forgetting the here-and-now. I'm not sure if that parallel was intended, but it's interesting nonetheless.
Your summary is well-written and conveys a lot of information in a short space. You do a nice job of introducing us to Fei Hong's struggles, while leaving things vague enough that we still have questions.
What is this new world like? Who is this mysterious boy, and will he turn out to be good or evil? Readers will definitely leave this summary intrigued, wanting to know more.
Your plot, so far, manages to be both interesting and poignant at the same time. I feel for Fei Hong, and it is easy to see that she's struggling with the choice she made to leave Earth. The mentions of the boy she left behind there only add to the somber nature of the plot, making me want to know more about him, and how the two grew to be so close.
Fei Hong's interactions with the people of her new world are also quite realistic. We have Marice, Fei Hong's friend who I haven't quite figured out yet, and Elora, who seems to look down on Fei Hong. At this point in the book, I wonder if Marice will turn out to be disdainful, too, or if she is who she appears to be.
Your grammar is also quite good, and I love your descriptions of things. I would give an example, but it's honestly difficult to pick one. Each time you describe a person or a scene, you do it so thoroughly that I feel like I'm there, yet the details don't seem rushed or overwhelming. This makes for an appealing and interesting read that is easy to follow.
I also enjoy how you incorporate Chinese into the dialogue between Fei Hong and her grandmother. This adds diversity, and seems natural given Fei Hong's family ethnicity. I definitely think you should continue doing this, and the translations at the end of the chapters will make it easy for readers to understand.
One inconsistency I noticed is the description of the boy Fei Hong left on Earth. He's portrayed, for the most part, with blue eyes. However, in one paragraph (when Fei Hong is remembering their tree) it is mentioned that his eyes were green. Perhaps fixing this could bring more clarity to readers, and help the story to flow even more smoothly.
Would I recommend this story? Yes. Sci-fi lovers will be drawn to this, especially if they're interested in alien civilizations. I think this could attract readers from other genres, though, if they happen to be looking for a unique storyline.
