Head Full Of Flowers

Please bear with me if there are errors. My other brand of wireless keyboard will no longer let me copy/paste, so I switched to my other keyboard that's a different brand. There are less keys and it's smaller, so I'm learning shortcuts where before there was an actual key that did the same thing. It's a bunch of technological nonsense, but basically I'm working with something that I have no idea how to use yet.

Title: Head Full Of Flowers
Author: wavyhazy

Description:
Meredith Reed. An old woman filled with so many secrets and lies that you'd lose track trying to count. An old woman with a fiery hot temper and a quick-witted mind. An old woman whose spirit has been beaten down by the cruel, cruel world.

Arabella Reed. A young woman wandering aimlessly, wanting to find her place in the world and conquer the fears she's hidden deep down. A young woman who wants to understand every single person and find their truths while finding her own.

The relation?

Meredith is Arabella's grandmother and best friend. Once tragedy befalls Meredith, Arabella is left to go on a journey with an unexpected friend to uncover the truth about who her grandmother really was.

The first thing I want to comment on is your title. It's an interesting one, but I did notice a grammatical error. The word 'of' should not be capitalized; this is a general rule for book titles, unless it is the first word. If you want to know more about this, feel free to look it up.

Your summary is pretty good, as well. I love how you tie in both the grandmother and the granddaughter here, and I think your summary does a nice job of showing the connection through the comparisons/contrasts. You've omitted a couple of commas that could really help the flow, but this is definitely a nice hook to peak readers' interest. What happened to Meredith? We're left wondering that at the end of this description.

As far as plot-based elements go, you're doing quite well. I feel like your pacing is working well, and that the story is flowing smoothly and logically. However, some of your chapters (most noticeably chapter 1) are very long by Wattpad standards. I don't mind, but it is important to be aware of this in order to make sure readers don't feel too daunted by the chapter.

I think your characters are realistic, though for me it took a while to connect to one. Meredith disappeared from the story too early for me to understand her, which was necessary but meant we didn't have much time to bond with her. Olivia took a while to become pronounced, yet she is the one I connect with most. Her personality draws me in, and I enjoyed her interactions with Arabella very much.

Your overall grammar is quite good, with the minimal error being hardly noticeable. You do a great job with descriptions, too, especially the physical ones. You describe characters so that I am able to imagine their appearance perfectly, and something about how you described Olivia's eyes really caught my attention. I believe you described them along the lines of 'green and brown toned' and I really found that to be unique. It wasn't overly focused in, yet it was descriptive enough that the image was clear. I think it's nice that you were descriptive without being too precise with her looks.

There isn't a whole lot to this book so far, since you've only posted a few chapters, but still you've inserted some mystery into the plot. I'm wondering if what happened to Meredith is true, or if something more sinister surrounds her unfortunate circumstances. I'm not sure if this was intended, but I'm a skeptical reader and that stood out to me.

I think this is a relatively easy read, and is doing a nice job so far of getting from point A to point B.

Would I recommend this story? Yes, I would recommend this to general fiction readers, as well as anyone who likes a book that gets them to think deeply about the story's events.

OVERALL SCORE: 96/100
