Book One: The Son of Nomitor, Birth of the Son

Title: Book One: The Son of Nomitor, Birth of the Son
Author: SwanJFHBylanderIII

Description:
The story follows the early life and years of a Boy named Harles Semels of Höstatium, born to a lower ranked Noble Family in the northern Realm of Saxon.

It is a troubling time to be born into...

For eternal turmoil and chaos consumes the Continent of Eróqosia, as the storm clouds of fate gather overhead, flashing with thunder of an uncertain future for all who dwell therein...

It is the Fifth Age, Year Four-Hundred and Ninety-Five.

Mistrust and rivalries has fractured the realms of the rich and powerful Republic of Heron, once the envy of the world, that's influence is felt over a vast region of Eróqosia, Northern Hafizia and the near Orient of Mésioantolí.

Yet its legions are now stretched to their limit and near breaking point...

The Republic of Heron has not had lasting peace within its dominion, torn apart by constant civil wars and infighting, which has driven the Senate to a perpetual state of fear of an emerging dictator, bent on taking absolute power. That the Democracy they once championed, now dies a slow death by a thousand cuts, brought about by a Bloated Bureaucracy, staffed by the cynical and short sighted.

The peace the Senate tries to maintain is both fragile and meaningless...

And the lands it holds onto now, is divided by the Ruling Houses of Power who via for influence over the Senate. The realms they lord over, struggle with its own internal strife, stricken with invasion and war, religious persecution, plebeian uprisings and the constant threat of slave rebellions.

These are the final years of the Republic of Heron, an era of darkness, destitution, and of war...

First, I'd like to take a look at your title. It's a mouthful, but I actually like it. It's to the point, letting us know we're in for a series of some sort and giving us a clear cut definition of who our main character is.

The summary is also a bit wordy, though I think that comes with your writing style. Here, while it gets a little drawn out, I definitely think it works to convey things in the way you are wanting it to.

As far as overall story quality, I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this, and I appreciate that. Your plot flows quite well, and you do a great job of introducing us to characters and scenes so that we feel as though we're in that moment. There are some minor grammar errors, but that's typical of a draft, and you can weed them out easily enough when you go back around to edit.

Now, I'm going to address the major flaw I feel could drag your story down a bit.

In your opening author's note, you wrote: "The first chapter is over 24,278 words, written on 54 pages and is over two hours long, basically a script to a movie. And if you like reading long, detailed chapters, all the more power to you. If you don't and need to complain about length and that it should be chopped up into smaller bite sized 20 or 10 minute chapters, then go to another work that caters to your refined needs."

I'm not in this to drag anyone here, but I must play devil's advocate for the Wattpadians out there with reading position issues.

In many versions of the app, and sometimes on the website, when you take a break from reading you lose your place because Wattpad doesn't always save it for you. Imagine, if this were to happen, how difficult it could be to find your place again with such a long chapter, especially if you weren't remembering which page you stopped on.

Aside from this, some readers are a little more inexperienced, and may do better with shorter chapters.

That's not to say that their taste is refined or that they are intentionally snubbing your book, or that you are completely off track by posting such a long series of chapters. I simply suggest that you consider every perspective, carefully weighing your options before moving to the final draft.

As a whole, I think you've got a very enjoyable piece, though you'll have to decide for yourself if tweaks are necessary.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, I would. If you're into high fantasy I definitely think this would interest you.
