Synopsis!

FELICITY WOODS was a princess.

Or she was ― by default ― the princess to the Woods' empire. Being born to John Woods was both a blessing and a curse: she held the title, had the crown, but that was as far as Felicity Woods ever came to being such royalty. With her mother leaving the household just weeks after she had birthed her daughter, abandoning Felicity with little more than a pecked kiss on her forehead so that she was left to grow up alongside her brothers and cold―hearted father. She grew up listening to the arguments and spats about business going on in the next room whilst she played with her toys and tried to drown out the angered yells.

Leaving home at seventeen years old was the only way that Felicity felt would get her away from her horrific legacy and all of its accomplices. She could not deny the horrid world that she had somehow been born into, no matter how much she wanted to bring even just a glimpse of sunshine into the dismal streets of Small Heath. So when she left the family home on Watery Lane with only a small trunk of her belongings and head of golden curls, no one thought for a moment that she might be a Woods' offspring. Not when the only feature she shared with her father was her hazel eyes, because whilst hers were filled with flames and with warmth, his somehow held ice storms.

Thomas Shelby, however, knew exactly who she was. She found herself to be no longer Felicity, and instead was back to being the Woods' princess, the one who would be able to secure a healthy business transaction between the Shelby and Woods clans. Thomas offered a proposal ― quite literally ― with the hope that a marriage between the two families might build a bridge that'll last long enough for him to secure a footing in the more legal side of bookkeeping. Whilst Felicity was hesitant, he made sure to remind her that it'll get her the one thing she wanted the most ― for John Woods, the man she had grown up cowering and afraid of, to disappear.

Yet even she, the so-called 'angel of Small Heath', could find herself trapped in two lies ― two lies that threaten to break her, once and for all.
