renjun froze. it felt foreign to have jaemin's lips pressed against his, but at the same time, it felt right. he allowed himself to relax into the moment as jaemin softly slipped his hands down to his waist, holding him tightly. 

   the chinese male let his hands hang loosely behind jaemin's neck as he moved his lips in the same way that jaemin did. it was short and sweet, but it did the job, saying everything that neither of them would dare admit out loud.

   they broke apart, breathless and blissful. smiles stretched across their faces as they held a long eye contact. then slowly, jaemin let go of him, and renjun took two steps backwards, opening space between them.

   jaemin wondered when they would ever see eachother again, somehow he knew the answer was never.

   "i wish you the best jaemin, nothing but the best," renjun murmured. jaemin tried to keep his smile from faltering as the inevitable took place.

   "you're gonna do great out there, i know it," jaemin told him in return. this made renjun smile, and jaemin was glad that his last memories of renjun could contain him was a beautiful grin on his face.

   renjun sighed, looking around. "i guess this is it," he stuck a hand out. jaemin took it, shaking the older's hand though he really just wanted to pull him to his chest and hold on tight. 

   jaemin held on to his hand before renjun pulled away. 

   warm, his hands are warm, jaemin noted, trying to memorize every detail about him while he still could. renjun lifted one hand, waving it.

   "goodbye jaemin."

   the younger couldn't bring himself to say anything while for the second time, renjun turned around and walked away. his feet stayed rooted in their place, unable to move. only when renjun's figure was so small that it was hardly visible did jaemin manage to force out the words;

   "bye renjun."
