Ash's POV

It has been about 10 minutes since I took Serena to see Nurse Joy. Unfortunately Serena still hasn't woken up yet. I have been on my phone for most of the time playing games and listening to music to past the time while Pikachu has just been sleeping peacefully on my lap.

'I don't care how long it takes, I will be here when you wake up Serena.' I think to my to keep myself motivated as I put my phone away and I start to watch the seconds on the clock above the exit tick by.

"Sorry buddy, I know this isn't the first day of school you were looking forward to." I say apologising to the sleeping Pikachu as I gently begin stroking Pikachu's fury.

"No...p-please... leave me alone...." I hear a faint mumbling voice as I quickly shoot my head towards Serena who is now moving! 'Somethings wrong.' I think to myself until I see Serena tossing and turning her body around with sweat running down her head. 'She's having a nightmare!' I shout at myself inside my head.

I quickly jump up out of my seat, unknowingly nocking the sleeping Pikachu off my lap and onto the ground and quickly move over to Serena. "Serena wake up." I say trying to wake her up out of her nightmare while shaking her gently.

'She's not waking up.' I think to myself knowing that her nightmare is getting worse. "Come on Serena WAKE UP!" I almost shout as I shake her more violently to attempt to wake her.

Serena's POV

"Where am I?" I ask out loud as I look around to see nothing but the dark void that surrounds me. "Hello? Anyone there?" I ask softly in my shy tone hoping that someone will answer me.

"Mom. Mom please help me..." I pleaded while tears start to form in my eyes still in the dark void all alone. "Please anyone help me! Mom...Ash!" I tried to shout while in tears but I could only cry those words.

"Your useless!" I hear a voice eco though the dark void. "Hello? I-is s-someone t-there?" I ask full of fear with tears starting to drip down my face.

"No one loves you!" The voice speaks again. This time I feel like a knife has just been stabbed through my heart. I drop to my knees with tears filling my eye as I tightly grip my shirt above my heart as it continued to hurt.

"L-leave m-me alone... p-please." I pleaded hoping for the pain to end but the voice continued to eco through the dark void without mercy.

"Your weak! Why don't you just end yourself and do something right for once!" The voice continued to eco as my heart continued to ach from every word that was said.

"No...p-please... leave me alone...." I say while crying helplessly in this empty abyss with no one to help me and why would anyone help me? I'm useless, no one loves me. I should do everyone a favour and do what they want and just end my misery, it's the only good I could ever do in this cruel world.

"SERENA!" I hear a male voice calling my name causing me to look around the dark abyss in one last hope that someone will help me.

"H-hello?" I manage to say out my sadness and fear.

"Serena!" I hear the voice again. 'Wait... Ash?' I think to myself remembering the familiar voice. 'He was the only one besides my own mother who actually noticed me, accepted me and... cared for me? My tears joy sadness soon started to turn into tears of almost...joy? An emotion I hadn't felt in years! And Ash was the reason for this emotion. He stood up for me, he talked to me like a normal person, he...he is my first ever f-friend.

After realising that Ash is my friend a small white light soon appeared in the dark abyss and I could hear Ash's voice calling me from the light. As I stared into the light I felt my heart beginning to heal. The aching....stoped. I felt...happy? I managed to stand and slowly walked over to the light. "Ash..." I say before walking into the white light.

Ash's POV

She has stoped tossing and turning violantly around the bed and was now laying peacefully on to bed for a few seconds until I see her eye libs begin to shutter and then slowly opening reveling her ocean blue eye. 'Wow they're beautiful...WAIT WHAT Ash stop think like this you barely know this person!' I say in my head wondering what caused me to starting thinking like that.

"A-Ash?" I hear the soft, weak and gentle voice of Serena snapping me out of my thoughts bringing my eyes to meet with hers once again.

"Serena!" I say in joy knowing that she is finally awake. I quickly lean over her and give her a hug without even thinking.

She was flinshed at first but soon relised what was happening and returned the comforting hug when she did I then relise what exactly I am doing making me blush.

I pull back from the hug, giving her some space.I noticed she had a tink of pink in her cheeks. 'Wait was she blushing?' I thought to myself but soon shruged off the thought.

"Serena i'm so glad your finally awake!" I say with joy and a big smile.

"W-where am I?" She asked confused as she began to look at her surrounding then make at me.

"You passed out in the hallways so I brought you to the Health Centre and Nurse Joy tended to your wounds." I answered suming up the reason as to what happened.

"T-thanks A-Ash... You d-didn't need to d-do that" She said as her cheeks started to go red? 'Wait is she getting sick?! Wow this girl can't catch a break' I think to myself.

"Oh, Serena. Nurse Joy said that once you wake up that you need to be taken home. So can your Mum or Dad pick you up?" I ask her remembering what Nurse Joy told me before she left.

"Um... my Mum is at w-work and I don't have a Dad." She says looking down at the bed clearly upset at the topic. 'Damit Ash you mad her upset now! Goodjob!' I say to myself.

"Oh i'm sorry... I didn't mean to bring up a personal memory. Just forget I ever said that." I say trying to make her less upset.

"*Sniff *Sniff It's ok..." She says trying to hold back tears.

"Hey Serena, please don't cry." I say trying to comfor her. "I'll take you home if you would like?" I say trying to change the subject.

"R-really? W-what about s-school?" She asks while whiping some of the tears out of her eye.

"I'll just skip it. I haven't been to any classes yet so I should already be marked as absent anyway." I say to make it sound like it was ok with me to skip school.

"O-ok then. I-I would like t-that." She says while sitting up a bit trying to get out of the bed but suddenly stops a whinces in pain, placing her hands around her stomach.

I quickly react sofly laying her back on the bed. "Serena you souldn't move. You have been through a lot today alread don't force yourself."

"B-but how do I get h-home?" She asks with a hint of pain and sadness in her voice.

I quickly start to think i just said the first idead the poped into my mind. "I will just carry you there." A tint of pink becomes visable on her cheeks as she hears my solution and shyly look down at the bed.

"O-Ok... T-thank y-you." She says softly.

"Ok then, Pikachu? can you get my bag we are going now?" I say to my buddy who nobs and retrieves my bad for me and I put it on then Pikachu jumps on my shoulders ready to go.

"Ready Serena?" I ask making sure that she is still ok with this idea. She slowly nobs in agreement.

I bend over and place my arms under her fragil body. One around her hips and one around her shoulders and lift her up bridal style. She winces in pain for a split second then relaxes in my arm, putting her head into my chest with her eyes closed.

"Don't worry Serena, I got you." I say comforting her while giving her a friendly smile.

We walk out of the Health Centre then out of the school. Serena then starts to give me directions to her house. While we walk i can;t help but look at how beautiful and peaceful she looks rapped in my arms. We walk in silence as there are no words needed to be said towards her house.
