Ash's POV

"Wow Pikachu this house is amazing!" I yell in excitement while running through our new home for the very first time. "Pika!" He yells in agreement as we both had sparkles in our eyes.

(Yes I did skip the WHOLE plane ride and stuff because I'm too lazy to write that stuff :P)

"Well this place is certainly bigger than our old house, don't you agree Pikachu?" I say still in amazement at the change in living space. "Pika Pi!" He says, jumping off my shoulder and runs into my new room. "Hey buddy wait for me!" I shout while chasing after Pikachu into my new room.

"Wow buddy! This room is amazing!" I say admiring my new room as I walk over to my bedroom window to look at the view. The view from my window wasn't anything to special, I could see an open field illuminated by the rising sun behind my house that I thought would be great for training. "Hey buddy, check out that field over there." I point the open field out to Pikachu who seems to be thinking the same as me.  

*Knock *Knock

I hear knocks on my bedroom door and turn my head to see my mother so give her a huge smile to say that I like my new room. "What do you think of our new home?" She asks, of course I already knew the answer to that question. "It's way bigger than our old one, it's amazing!" I respond full of excitement and energy. "That's great honey." She says with a satisfied smile on her face. "Just remember you have school real soon, so make sure you are ready." She says as she exits my room leaving me to get ready for school.

I look over at my alarm clock to see the time saying 7:30a.m. "I guess we better head down stairs to go to our new school." I say to Pikachu who seemed more excited than ever because h had never been to a school before. "Pika Pi." Says Pikachu showing his excitement. "Right this will be your first time at a school, but don't get too excited, school can be pretty boring." I say remembering how boring my old classes were.

We head down stairs for breakfast still a bit tired from the plane ride but the smell of freshly made pancakes woke both me and Pikachu right up. "Those pancakes smell really good Mum." I say complementing her cooking. "Pika." Pikachu says agreeing with me. "Here you go you two." She says handing me and Pikachu our breakfast. "Better eat it quickly we gotta leave in 5 minutes." She says while giving us both a friendly smile. "Right." I say nodding my head to show that I understand as I start to devour my breakfast.

I finished my breakfast before Pikachu who was almost done his ketchup coved pancakes. "You really like ketchup don't you buddy?" I say while patting Pikachu's head. "Pika-chu." He says in agreement as he swallows his last piece of the pancakes. "Alright buddy letz GO!" I say full of excitement for my new adventure in Kalos.  

"BY MUM, WE ARE GOING NOW." I yell so that my Mum would hear us. "Ok Honey have fun!" She responds walking into the kitchen handing me a map so that we wouldn't get lost. "Mum, you do know I have my phone right we don't need a map." I say questioning as to why she handed it to me. "I know but that take this map just in case." She says giving me a quick kiss on the cheek. "Sorry I can't take you on your first day, but I have to wait for the rest of our stuff to arrive." She says in a sad tone. "It's ok Mum, see you later." I say as I run out of the house with Pikachu on my shoulder.

After about  10 minutes of walking following the pathway we finally arrived at a large building the we think must be the school but there were no signs around so we were unsure. "Hey Pikachu, maybe we should ask someone if this is the place?" I ask Pikachu to see if he agreed. "Pika." he answered giving me a nod in agreement. I begin to look around for someone who I could ask, my eye immediately a girl wearing a dark grey tank top with a white collar, dark grey stockings and has long honey blond hair with her head facing the ground and carrying what look like to be school books. 'Maybe I should ask her.' I think to myself while waiting for her to arrive at the entrance to the big building which had big black gates on either side of it.

"Hey, excuse me lady?" I begin waving my hands to get her attention but she just keeps walking with her head down. 'Maybe she didn't hear me?' I thought to myself. "Hello? You with the blond hair." I say trying to sound friendly. She slowly lifted her head up and I immediately look straight into her ocean blue eyes that looked so empty and lifeless. "Y-You talking t-to me?" She says softly and with a lifeless tone that I was only just able to hear. "Yeah, I wanted to ask you, is the Kalos Pokémon Academy?" I ask her still a bit surprised she thought that I was talking to someone else because there was no one else here. 'I guess that happened when you late on your first day.' I think to myself still waiting for her answer. "Y-yeah it is." She responds while putting her head back down to the ground.

"Thanks a lot!" I say while a smile crept onto my face. "Hey, are you a student here?" I ask her hoping she was so that she could help me out some more. "Y-yeah I am." She responds in her cold lifeless tone, but I ignore it and introduce myself. "Well hi, my name is Ash, Ash Ketchum and I'm new to this school." I say with a friendly grin. "And this on my left is my best bud Pikachu." "Pikachu!" Pikachu says full of joy. "So what's your name?" I ask causing her to look up in shook like no one has ever asked her that in her life.

"Uummm... I-I'm S-Serena." She say with a less lifeless tone which kind of makes me happy. "That's a nice name." I say without thinking. 'What where did that some from!' I start mentally kicking myself. "Aaahhh... T-thanks" She says shyly. 'Great now she thinks your weird, great work Ash' I think to myself. "Anyway do you mind showing me to the principals office so I can get my schedule?" I ask hoping she says yes so I won't have to get myself lost. "S-sure..." She answers putting her head back towards the ground and begins to walk into the gates leading to the school.

We walked in awkward silence until we reached the office. "H-Here we are." She says softly while pointing to the door with the word Principal Sycamore written on it. "Thanks so much Serena! I owe you one." I say giving her a friendly simile to thank her. "W-what f-for?" She says surprised and confused at what I said. "Well firstly you helped me identify the school and secondly you saved my the trouble of getting lost in a new school." I explained to her which after I finished I saw a small smile take over her face which I think is kind of cute. 'WAIT WHAT! Did I really just think that! What is going on with me today?' I mentally ask myself."Anyway thanks again Serena for everything." I say to her while having goodbye to her as I enter the office doors. 

"Ah, you must be Ashton Ketchum." A tall man with a white lab coat say as I close the office doors behind me. "Yes sir, but most people call me Ash." I say trying to be polite. "Marvellous! And you can call me Mr or Professor Sycamore, none of this sir business." He says pulling a friendly smile. "Ok then well me and Pikachu would like to get our schedules please." I ask while looking at Pikachu who is still very excited for his first day of school.

 "Ah yes, here you go." He says handing me a piece of paper containing my classes on it. "So is Pikachu going to be learning with you?" Professor Sycamore asks causing me to stop reading what classes I have. "Ah, yes he is." I answer causing Pikachu to pull a bigger smile. "Marvellous! Never before have I seen a Trainer and Pokémon learn at school together." He says which confuses me because doesn't this school allow the use of Pokémon? "Umm Professor Sycamore... doesn't this school allow Trainers to have their Pokémon out with them?" I ask him hoping the answer won't make Pikachu sad.

"Yes, Indeed it does. But everyone here only has them out during break, lunch and during Pokémon based classes." He says answering my question but filling my head with even more. "So it's ok for me to have Pikachu in non Pokémon based classes?" I ask to make sure. I really want Pikachu to be able to experience what school is all about and he was so excited for today I hope we are still allowed. "Yes you are but Pikachu is your responsibility and during class he will complete the same work as you but in tests he will have to do the test by himself." Professor Sycamore explains causing Pikachu to jump for joy that he will do school work which I could help but laugh at that because we all know how much we all hate school work.

"Anyway Thankyou Professor!" I say as I head out of his office and into the hallway to my first class which according to my schedule is Maths in the classroom number 115. 'Man I should have asked Serena to wait for me so that she could tell me where my class is.' I think to myself while remembering my interaction between me and her and I couldn't help but think that she seems rather lonely and depressed. But I shake off the thoughts and begin aimlessly wondering down the hallway and looking at classroom numbers for my class.
