Chapter 39

Serena's POV
The girls filled me in on the 'competition' and the reason why my afternoon with my Ashy was ruined! I wasn't too happy about it at first but after the girls convinced me that this was our chance to kick the boys ass at something I couldn't help but get all fired up! Its funny, my admiration towards Ash seems to be really rubbing off on me! Or maybe its just me.
"Sere honey!" Dawn says using her , snapping me out thoughts just as I was about to start daydreaming about Ash which the girls often tease me about because it happens to me frequently.
"We need you to be focused if we want to beat the boys!" Dawn adds as we reach the what the girls have described to be one of Kalos' biggest and most popular malls! It sounds perfect for the occasion but part of me thinks that it would have been easier and faster if we went to a mall that was less... crowded.
"Wow... its so big." I say in amazement as my eyes took in the shier magnitude of the shopping mall and the flooding of people that surrounded it.
"That's what she said!" Misty says smugly while giving a cheeky grin of satisfaction while the rest of us just shake our heads in utter disapproval.
"Do I see a bit of EgoShipping right there?" Bonnie asks with a teasing tone while she nudges Misty's waist with her elbow causing her to be mistaken as a cherry her cheeks were that red.
"Egoshipping?" I ask curiously. I know that this group of girls love there shippings but I haven't fully memories yet with what shipping does to which person.. Except Amourshipping of course which is my favourite one out of all of them!
"That's Misty and Gary's shipping." May explains, connecting the dots together in my memory, recalling that long and boring conversation I had to sit through as the girls told me every shipping the had! WHICH THE AUTHOR WAS TOO LAZY TO ADD!!!
(RIP Forth Wall...)
"That makes sense." I say as we begin to walk with the crowd to the malls entrance.
Once we entered we were greeted my nice music that played soothingly through the walkways of the mall but was almost impossible to hear and appreciate over the sound of busy shoppers that filled the interior and food courts all around the place.
"Alrighty Girls! Where to first? Iris asks while placing her hands on her hips and causing us to stop walking to gather a plan of attack.
"Well clearly if we want to win this thing we will only have time to go to one store! So which one will give us the best chance at finding the best dress for Serena?" Iris explains in a rather logical way which wasn't like her but I wasn't complaining.
"Oooo! I heard that there was this really cute dress shop here!" Dawn says while slightly fangirling which was apparent through her girly squeals which although were dampened by the malls ruckus but was still able to be heard by those near her. Aka Us.
"No lets go there! It's closer and it will have everything we need in it!" May says while singling out a specific shop that had a beautiful white dress the caught all of our eyes, making our mouths drop and our eyes sparkle at its beauty.
"Yep we are going there..." We all said together as we snap out of our trans.
"OMA GIRLS! ITS BEEN 10 MINUTES AND WE STILL HAVENT DONE ANYTHING!" Iris screams as she shows us her phone to show us that we had spent 10 minutes staring at that one dress!!! 'wow... the boys are right, we do take a long time shopping.' I think to myself as we head towards the shop which had the sign 'Pokegirl dress' labelled above the store which seemed rather ironic to me... don't know why though.
"HELLO! AND WELCOME TO POKEGIRL DREES!" A female voice fills my ears as me and the other girls step foot into the dress filled shop.
"HOW MAY I HELP YOU?!" The voice says again energetically as a female figure with short blonde hair, green eyes and an orange top appears from what seemed like out of no where.
"Aahhh, yes we are looking for a dress for our friend." May speaks up and explains to this person who's name badge that was position just on the left side of her chest which says 'Bianca'.
"Ah! GOT TO IMPRESS A SPECIAL SOMEONE?!" Bianca yells with much energy and excitement as if it was her in my position except a bit more girly then how I'm feeling right now.
"Yes! Exactly!" Iris say in an hurried tone. "We need at dress! And make it snappy!" She adds while clicking her fingers in front of face is a very sassy way.
"Gotta ya!" Bianca replies giving a wink to no one before rushing off into the rows upon rows of fancy dresses, each with a different colour to match the design and all looking rather glamorous and spectacular as each in my opinion would look great!
And before I could even begin to picture myself in any of the outfits the unmistakable, energetic voice of Bianca alerts me of her presence and snaps me out of my thoughts where I see her holding up a gorgeous blue dress in here right hand and beautiful red dress which caught my eye almost instantly!
"Fen! Fennekin!" I hear a familiar voice say which took me a second to identify before I looked down at my feet and saw Fennekin standing there with a big grin on her face as her fiery coloured tail moved from side to side to show her happiness.
"AAHHH WHAT?!" Both Dawn and May cried out as they jumped in fear at Fennekin's sudden appearance as their faces went pain white in fear.
"Geez Serena, control you Fennekin." Misty says while holding in her laughter.
"Such a little kid." Iris says with her head bowed and shrugging her shoulders while her eye lids shut to block her vision.
"WHAT YOU CALL ME?!" Dawn and May both yell at the say time which I have noticed has been happening a lot lately, those two are like two peas in pod.
"Oh boy..." I mumble as Fennekin jumps up into my arms as we watched to girls duel it out with their head held together while Bianca just had a very confused expression on her face that resembled the one on Fennekin's perfectly.
"Fen?" The small fox Pokémon says with her head slightly tilted as she gazed at the stand off between the others excluding Misty which was odd because normally she's right in the middle of most of the fights.
"Can you stop it! Arceus your as bad as the boys!" Misty says with an eye roll. But she has a point, right now we are acting like boys and at this rate we are going to be beaten at our own game!
"Oh its you guys." A dull and way to familiar voice come from behind me.
"W-what are you doing here!?" Misty comments also instantly before I could even turn around to identify the voice. But I didn't need to. I knew that voice oh too well.
"You have got to be joking! I came here for a dress and all I get is a bunch of buffoons and a weak fox to ruin my perfect day!" She says while looking down at the camera around her neck which I found rather odd.
"Hey watch it missy! We were here first!" May says, switching from one fight to another while bringing Iris and Dawn with her who all had the same undesirable look on their faces.
"Now, now, no fighting in the store thank you very much!" Bianca said in a very different tone then her usual, this one was more serious and had a bit of demand in it.
"Whatever, I'll take that blue one." Miette responds in a very care free attitude which kinda reminded me of Paul.... 'No Serena you don't ship it! But it is better then her being with my Ashy... NO! Dawn will kill me!'
"Ah, sure." Bianca spoke while handing Miette the blue dress which she payed for then began to exit the store without even trying it on first!
"Wait your not going to try that on?" Bianca spoke the very words my mind was saying.
"No, I don't have time, it's my size and plus I don't want to be here with these dim wits." Miette says as she leaves the store as well as leaving us all dumbfounded and frustrated at her words which was obvious through the steam bursting from everyone ears.... and the fact that even Fennekin was half growling at Miette.
"Girls lets just forget her and get back on with out goal." I say in a calm voice to try and calm them down a little. It was obvious the group wasn't on good terms with Miette but if its one thing Ash has taught me is not to hate someone based on there action as there is good in everyone.
"Serena's right! If we want to beat the boys we gotta focus on the task at hand." Dawn says while taking the dress off Bianca and handing it to me before instantly pushing me towards the changing booths before I had even properly got grip on the dress which caused me to stumble a little but I was able to keep my balance but accidently dropped Fennekin in the process.
"Woah careful! We need her alive." May jokes as Fennekin recovers from the fall and gives me a stare before walking over to a near by seat in which Iris and Misty are already sitting at.
"Sorry Serena. I was just in a hurry." Dawn explains which was understandable because this is a race after all.
"It's okay Dawn." I say while giving her a cheerful smile which Ash says always makes him happy and that it makes others happy as well. Guess he was right because Dawn's half frown turned in a bright smile after almost instantly.
"So lets win us a contest!" I say as I head into the changing booth with the red dress. As I did so I could here Dawn's excited voice behind me, though the words she spoke were vague to my ears and unrecognisable.

After a fair amount of time of trying on the dress and inspecting how it fitted and looked on me which may or may not have involved me doing model posses in front of the mirror and twirling myself around so I get that princess like swirl of the clothing.
I found that this dress felt rather comfortable and the fabric was very light and felt rather pleasing when I twirled around. Plus the design of the dress is simply adorable!
"SERENA HURRY UP!" I hear the demanding and urgent voice of Misty as she bangs on the door demanding that I hurry up which I guess she is right, I have been in here for a while now.
But I guess I still find it a bit weird to look at myself in the mirror. Though I may have changed my attitude I still have scars. Scars that are both visible but the ones that hurt the most are the ones that are invisible.
The mirror reflects me, but who am I? I have lived two lives. The life of depression, sorrow and pain. And my second life is only just started. The life of smiles, laughs, happiness and love. But when I look in that mirror, that ever reflecting mirror. I see both lives. My scars are still there and I can't escape them. But who am I? I have to ask myself what life am I living?
'No Serena! Remember what Ash has taught you! Positivity beats Negativity always!'

After purchasing the red dress from Bianca me and the other girls started to make our way to where they said the finish line was. To be honest I didn't have high hopes, we wasted a lot of time on silly things that we shouldn't have and I think that's going to cost us. But you never know, if I know Gary he can't stay focused on one thing very long so we may have a chance.
"WE WIN!!!!" Dawn yells as she places her hand on the 'finish line' which was just a lamp post which I found to be very anticlimactic.
"We... won?" I say in a very confused and surprised tone as I thought for sure we would loose!
"Guess we did-" Iris was saying before a loud voice which was identified almost instantly called out to us.
"Gary?" All the girls said at once.
"NNNOOOO! THE GIRLS BEAT US!!!" Gary yell while falling onto his knees to make the defeat seem all the more dramatic.
"What. No way!" Drew said in disbelieve as he arrives right behind Gary.
"TAKE THAT BOYS!" Misty says to rub it in their faces as the rest of the boy group arrive and see us at the finish line.
"Huh, guess the girls win." Ash says calm and non dramatic manner unlike the others.
"DAMIT GARY! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Drew starts yelling which was just normal everyday stuff for this group.
"HOW IS THIS MY FAULT?!" Gary responds will just as much energy. If there is one thing I have learnt is that the boys are very competitive.
"If you didn't stop to talk to that Pokémon and try to catch it we would have won!" Clemont says joining this argument which isn't really necessary in my opinion.
"What Pokémon?" May asks the much needed question that most of the girls were probably thinking.
"Oh we ran into a wild Minun that could TALK!!!" Gary said with sparkles in his eyes, though the fact that a Minun could talk is almost unimaginable and highly impossible.
"A Minun... that could talk?" Dawn says with much disbelieve in her voice.
"ITS TRUE! WE ALL SAW IT!" Gary insists, but I could tell that the girls weren't buying into it. But all the boys nodded with Gary so I guess it must be true! I mean Ash and Pikachu nodded so they must have saw something.
But it doesn't matter now, but one thing is for sure. This party is going to be really fun! 'I wonder what Ash will look like?' I think to myself while stealing a glance at him out of the corner of my eye while my heart beat only remind me that this is the life I want to be living. The life with him.
