Chapter 36

Ash's POV
After waving goodbye to Serena I continued on my way home. It isn't a long distance to travel as my house is only like 5 or 6 houses down and on the opposite side of the street compared to Serena's.
I could still feel a bit of heat occupying my cheeks from what I would presume was from my little stunt before saying goodbye to Serena. I liked- no loved that feeling, the feeling of our love being connected in such a way that it is almost impossible to bring us apart. The feeling of warmth and the taste of her strawberry lips is enough to make me feel like I'm in heaven and I am when I'm with her because she is my little angle.
Though this feeling of happiness was quickly washed away by a moan of pain the escaped from Pikachu's mouth who I noticed was only just now showing how much pain he was really in. I knew that he didn't want to show his pain to Serena or the enemy because Pikachu doesn't like to be seen as weak but even show what he put himself through to save Serena was more than I could have ever asked him to do for me.
"Pikachu are you okay?" I ask while removing the now slouching Pikachu from my shoulder and placed him in my arms so that he could relax with ease while I would carry my best buddy home.
"Pika." He responded weakly while nodding ever so slightly. It didn't take a genius to figure out that Pikachu had took an abnormal amount of damage and was in no condition to even speak without the essence of pain taking over his tone. But the major stand out was defiantly his body which was littered with scratches, cuts and just all around visible signs of the fact that he had been battling hard which he had.
Pikachu and I didn't speak for the remainder of the short journey home but I knew my mother wouldn't be as quiet as us. She has probably been worrying herself crazy as to were I am. In fact I'm willing to bet that there isn't a single hair on her head from all the stressing out that she has probably been doing.
"Home sweet home!" Was the faithful words that I spoke to break the silence as I put one foot onto at the entrance to our home. Taking a deep breath in to calm myself down a little as I swear I could still feel some of the adrenaline still coursing through me as a result from todays events which I shouldn't really be surprised now that I think about it. It was just another evil organisation that I took down. You know, just another ordinary day in the life of Ash Ketchum.
Using my left hand to open the door while my right kept Pikachu safe in my arms, I managed to open the door and before I could even step inside my mother voice pierced my eardrums as she yelled. "ASH KETCHUM WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!"
'Oh come on! I haven't even got inside yet!' I mentally yelled before taking my first step inside while my mind begins to wonder and prepare myself for what is mostly likely going to come. But I quickly ignored what my Mum will have to say as my mind concluded that treating Pikachu was priority number 1!
Upon entering the main room I am immediately 'greeted' by my Mum who still has her hair intact so she mustn't have been stressing too much then.
"ASH! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?" My Mum yells before embracing me in a motherly hug without noticing an injured Pikachu in my arms which she soon became aware of once yelps of pain from Pikachu fill the house.
Mum quietly jumped back, releasing me from her hug as she looked in shock and worry upon realising Pikachu's condition. But she then seemed to lake a better look and me and a look of almost fear took over her face as she raised her hand to cover her mouth.
"What happened to you two?" She asked in concern. At first I was confused as to why she was referring to both of us but after examining my own condition I noticed that my cloths wear dirty and had cuts in the fabric which gave the impression that I had just been in a fight.
I looked down at Pikachu who's eyes were closed as I could tell he was trying to fight that pain he was feeling.
"I'll tell you everything later Mum, but right now Pikachu needs help! He is hurt." I say but soon realising that hurt was probably an understatement!
It took Mum a few moments to digest what I said but once she did she nodded and told me to take Pikachu to my room and lye him on my bed while she gets the first Aid kit. I didn't object, nodding almost instantly at my mothers words before rushing upstairs to my room as placed my best buddy gently on my bed.
Pikachu kept his eyes closed and his movements were small is any at all. It wasn't long before Mum rushed into my room with the first aid kit which she placed on the bed next to Pikachu while taking out the required equipment in order to perform the task at hand.
"Don't worry Pikachu this won't hurt a bit." My mother speaks in a soft and soothing voice. The same voice in fact that I remember her using when I would hurt myself as a kid. But that voice wasn't just limited to just injuries, she would use that voice to cheer me up when I'm down as well as when she was saying goodnight to me before I went to bed.
I small scream of pain brought me out of my memories, bring my attention back to Pikachu who seemed to be in better condition thanks to Mum's handy work and was now having his hands wrapped in bandages.
"Honey, why don't you go get changed out of those dirty cloths while I finish bandaging up Pikachu?" My Mum speaks with that tone that she used while speaking to Pikachu. I could tell she was worried and probably confused by this whole situation so I decided to not argue even though I didn't want to leave Pikachu's side.
I grabbed a fresh pair of cloths and went into the bathroom to change and when coming back into the bedroom the first thing I see is Pikachu launching his body at me.
I sharply react and catch Pikachu with both hands and take in his appearance, he seemed more energised and looked in better spirits even though both his arms are bandaged up he seems to be feeling much better.
"Hey buddy! Good to see you look better!" I say while placing Pikachu on his rightful spot on my shoulder and give him a pat in-between his pointy ears while he let out purrs of enjoyment.
"Pikachu seems to be much better." I hear my Mum say while caused me to turn my attention to her.
"Yeah he does! How did you do it?" I ask curiously while I continue to pat Pikachu's head.
"Simply, Its a mother thing." She replies simple while giving me a cheeky wink which made me roll my eyes.
DING DONG
"Now who could that be?" Mum questions while turning her head to the bedroom entrance which her body follows before leaving to go answer the door. I guess curiosity got the better of me as I found myself following not far behind her as we walked down stairs towards the front door.
My Mum opens the door normally which much to both of our surprise reveals Grace, Serena's mother.
"Ah, hey Grace!" My mother says in a welcoming tone, but it was clear she wasn't expecting guests.
"Hello Delia good to see you! May I? Grace asks while signalling if she can come in. Of course my mother politely accepts while saying things like how rude of her to not offer to let her in to start with and stuff like that.
Now we are in the living room and something catches my eye, a slip of paper in Grace's hand which she seems to be holding quiet firmly.
"What's that Grace?" I ask, referring to the piece of paper in her hand. Grace looked at me for a split seconds as if she didn't know what I was referring to but just as fast as the confused expression appeared it disappeared.
"Oh! Serena wanted me to give you this." She replies while giving me the paper while I notice that up close I can see the word "Things To Buy:" on the top of the paper, making me realise that this was a shopping list.
Filled with curiosity, I unfold the shopping list to reveal a set of number follower by Serena's name underneath it.
(IT WAS HER PHONE NUMBER! GOD! Some of the things you guys guessed it was made me face palm so hard!)
My eyes widen upon realisation at what I was reading but I simply smiled while Pikachu gave me a little nudge.
"I think she wants you to text her." Grace says while giving me a wink while her grin widened on her cheeks. I smile too widens as I excuses myself and head to my room with Pikachu to leave the parents to talk about whatever it is that parents talk about.
I jump onto to sheets of my bed, putting my head onto my comfortable pillow while Pikachu curls up next to my body which I smile at before pulling out my phone and adding Serena's number to my contacts.

Serena's POV
I lay on my bed in the darkness of my room alone, my phone resting on my chest while my hands hold it there. My mind is currently having a game of tug of war with my emotions and fears. On one hand I don't want to loose Ash to Miette and I know that Ash loves me and that kiss before hand confirms that and on the other hand what if I'm not good enough for him? what if Ash leaves me because Miette is right? What if, what if-
DING!
My phone goes off which was a sound that I'm not use to. I almost immediately removed every thought out of my mind as my attention turn to the rare occasion of a text message being received by my phone, which much to my pleasure was from none other than Ash which made my heart feel all bubbly and warm inside.
Hey Serena its Ash
The message read. I was filled with joy and excitement at the next message that I actually opened my messages which I think is the first time for me doing so to answer a text that wasn't from my mother.
I stared at the bright light illuminating from the rectangle screen of my phone. 'Okay Serena, just reply.' I tell myself while trying to control the excitement of this new experience.
Hey Ash! Your got my note?
I send and start immediately mentally kicking myself. 'Really Serena!? Of course he got your note! He is texting you right now!' I yell at myself before getting a reply from Ash.
Yeah I got your shopping list. How are you doing by the way after today?
After reading the message I feel somewhat relived that he doesn't appear to think I'm stupid or something as well as feeling a warm sensation flow through my heart as how much he cares for me.
I'm ok, how are you and Pikachu doing?
I reply trying to show equal amounts of concern for him as he shows for me.
All good now, Pikachu had a few injuries but he is all bandaged up now
I feel a feeling of relief as I read his text as enjoyment only seems to increase as our conversation continues and we start talking about other things like Pokémon Battles and Performances which I really enjoyed, especially the performances part which caught my attention and I found sounded like fun! We also talked about Clemont's Party which I am actually quiet excited for!I tried to stay away from the topic of that I might be leaving out of fear of his reaction.
Ash and I chat for what felt like minuets but when my mother returned and I looked at the time is turns out we had been texting for almost an hour!
I gtg Serena, see ya tomorrow!
Ash's text reads much to my disappointment as I wanted this conversation to last forever! I didn't want to put down my phone in the hopes that Ash would magically send another text again but nothing. While I waited I decided to play around with some of the setting before I stumbled across something called contacts, which didn't take me much time to figure out what it was.
I smiled at myself while my heart beat quickened while a warm feeling filled my body as I typed Ash's contact name, using this another amazing thing I found called emojis!
💖Ash💖
I stare at my contact name for him and smile brightly with the a warm feeling on my cheeks while I hug my phone before slowly drifting asleep with nothing but Ash on my mind.

Chapter 36 complete!
Sorry guys for this later update and I know that updates have been less often but school holidays are coming up soon so when they come about you will defiantly see and increase in updates! Heck maybe you might even see the finally of Golden Heart in that time frame!
