Serena's POV

My heart if beating faster than it ever has before. Adrenalin is running though my body making my reflexes sharper, my muscles stiff and my eyes are unable to look away from this battle. I am gripping Ash's cap so tightly that if I was a tiny bit stronger I am pretty sure I would break it.

Ash so far has the upper hand only having loosed 2 Pokémon to Calem's 3. But I know Calem has two Pokémon that will be really hard for Ash to beat. I know how strong they are, Calem would sometimes use those two Pokémon to hurt or scare me, and I have felt first hand how strong their attacks are and this makes me more worried for Ash because his friends had said that Charizard was his strongest next to Pikachu and he is out and Pikachu is badly injured from its first battle.

"I can't loose hope..." I mumble, not loud enough for anyone to hear because of the crowd's cheering. 'Don't Give Up Till Its Over!' Those words continued to echo in my head creating some comfort for me but worry and fear still ruled over my mind as all I could do was watch Ash continue to battle with everything he's got but part of me knew that it is going to take nothing less than a miracle for Ash to beat one of those strong Pokémon let alone both of them!

Ash's POV

'3 down and now only 3 more to go.' I think to myself, still acknowledging that this battle is far from over and I can't afford to let my guard down.

"Pika Pi." Pikachu said, looking up at me while telling me that he is ready to go back out there when required. I gave him a nob and turned back to Calem who I could tell wasn't happy with the way this battle is going. Judging from the 3 battles we have had already I can tell Calem likes to be in control for the whole battle and finish his opponents with 1 powerful hit.

'Calem is strong alright. But there is too much on the line for me to loose here today.' I think clenching my fists and gritting my teeth before getting ready to begin the next round.

"Tyranitar! Time to show them your power!" Calem says, throwing out Tyranitar's pokeball revealing the big green, T-rex Pokémon who let out his powerful battle cry.

'A Tyranitar huh, looks strong. So in that case...' I think to myself while deciding on my next Pokémon.

"Infernape! I choose you!" I say throwing out his pokeball, revealing the fire ape who planted one of his fists onto the ground while staring at his opponent.

Paul's POV

'Good choice Ash... Tyranitar is really weak against fighting types. But something tells me that you didn't pick Infernape because of a type advantage. What are you planning?' I ask myself turning my attention to Ash and Infernape while remembering our battle at the Sinnoh League.

No One's POV

"Alright battle begin!" Professor Sycamore yelled, signalling for the battle to commence.

"Tyranitar! Stone Edge!" Calem commanded without wasting a single second to get the battle underway.

Tyranitar obeyed, slamming its fist into the ground causing sharp, blue glowing like crystals to shoot up out of the ground heading striate at Infernape.

"Doge it Infernape!" Ash yells at Infernape who doesn't waste a heartbeat jumping out of the way of the incoming attack.

"Now use Flame Wheel!" Ash signals Infernape causing him to wrap himself in a wheel of flames, spinning at rapid speed towards Tyranitar.

"Nice try, not going to work!" Calem says confidently.

"Catch it Tyranitar!" Calem says, telling Tyranitar its next move.

Infernape doesn't stop, his Flame Wheel speeds towards Tyranitar but just before making contact Tyranitar had caught Infernape's body causing the Flame Wheel to disappear and a shock wave to spread around the stadium.

Calem let out a confident smirk knowing he had Infernape exactly where he wanted him. While Ash was surprised to see Tyranitar catch Infernape while it was traveling at great speeds.

"Now Dark Pulse over and over! Don't let go of Infernape!" Calem yelled with an evil looking grin on his face.

Tyranitar opened its mouth letting out a dark purple projectile that hit Infernape at close range causing the fire ape to let out a cry of pain as Tyranitar attacked again and again giving Infernape no mercy.

Ash knew he had to something soon or Infernape will be defeated without landing a single hit on his opponent. But Ash knew Infernape, he wasn't about to give up just yet.

Ash quickly began to think of a way to get Infernape out of this bad situation but all of Infernape's moves have been countered because of his position but then it hit him.

"Infernape! Don't give up! Use you legs to kick Tyranitar then use Mach Punch!" Ash commanded, having complete faith and confidence that Infernape could pull though.

"NAPE!" Infernape let out a loud cry before using all of its remaining power to lift it right leg and smashing it into Tyranitar's hard body but I was enough for the giant T-rex to feel the pain causing him to let go of Infernape to move its arms to hold where Infernape had kicked him.

Infernape didn't waste a second going into stage two. He pulled his arm back while it turned white then released his fist while jumping at Tyranitar delivered his attack hitting him in the face in an upper cut action while rotating his body in mid air to deliver another Mach Punch which it Tyranitar right in the gut causing him to be pushed back.

"Great work Infernape!" Ash praised his Pokémon for his efforts while Calem's rage was building up. He was almost certain that he had Infernape beat.

"Alright Tyranitar, stop fooling around and use Earthquake!" Calem commanded a bit annoyed that Infernape managed to escaped and deal some really effective attacks on Tyranitar who was felling the pain.

Tyranitar weakly got to its feet and slammed it fist into the battle field, creating a crack in the ground that continued until it got to Infernape then exploding sending Infernape flying backwards, landing its back as it struggled to get back on its feet from all the pain the fire ape was feeling.

"Come on Infernape! Don't give up now! We can still win this!" Ash said to Infernape trying to motivate him to get back up. But the fire ape was only able to get onto on knee before Calem called his next move.

"Now Dark Pulse! GO!" Calem commanded, wanting to take full advantage of Infernape's current state.

The giant T-rex Pokémon released the dark purple projectile at the injured Infernape who had just managed to get to its feet. Infernape had its eyes closed and was gritting his teeth in pain but he wanted to continue to battle and wasn't going to give up.

"Infernape! Look out!" Was all Ash could say as Tyranitar's Dark Pulse faced toward Infernape at great speed.

Infernape heard Ash's voice and immediately opened his eyes causing his body to erupt in flames as he raised his arms to the side of his body while clenching his fists with determination as the Dark Pulse made contact causing and explosion.

Everyone in the stadium believed that the battle was over and are just waiting for the dust to clear to confirm. Even Calem firmly believed that he had won but when the dust cleared he saw Infernape still standing with a red, flame aura surrounding Infernape who had red eyes and the flame onto of his head was bigger and brighter than ever before.

"W-what's going on?" May asked the group, not having ever seen Infernape give off this much power.

"This is Infernape's special ability Blaze." Dawn said sounding relieved and a bit happy that Infernape had activated his special ability.

"Blaze is a special ability that is activated when a Pokémon has taken a substantial amount of damage. It also increases its attack power and increase a users fire type moves." Paul explained to the group in his normal cold voice but he too was happy also excited to Infernape use Blaze.

"Great work Infernape! I knew you could do it!" Ash complemented his Pokémon who was all fired up and ready to go.

"B-but how?" Calem asked surprised and a bit scared at all the power that Infernape still had.

"Ready Infernape?" Ash asked. Infernape just gave him a nod and turned back to his opponent and stated hitting his chest while letting out his battle cry.

"Alright Infernape Flamethrower!" Ash said all fired up, but also knew that he had to wrap this battle up before Infernape runs out of steam.

Infernape released his Flamethrower which raced towards Tyranitar who couldn't do anything because of the size and power of the massive Flamethrower.

Infernape's attack hit Tyranitar directly, inflicting lots of damage causing Tyranitar to fall to its knees.

"Now finish it of with Flare Blitz!" Ash signalled, putting his fist into the air as he called out the finishing move.

Infernape's body quickly was surrounded by a powerful blue flame and he raced towards Tyranitar who was in too much pain to look up.

"Tyranitar! Stone Edge!" Calem commanded clearly not paying attention to Tyranitar's current state.

But the T-rex Pokémon obey. He weakly slammed his fist into the ground creating the sharp, blue crystals to shoot up from the ground at Infernape.

"Go right through them Infernape!" Ash yelled confidently knowing that Tyranitar's attack was too weak to stop Infernape.

Infernape picked up his pace, smashing through every crystal that was in his way then hitting Tyranitar with all of the power he could muster sending Tyranitar smashing into the side of the stadium.

"Tyranitar is unable to battle! Infernape is the winner!" Professor Sycamore announced causing the crowed to erupt into cheer from the amazing battle they just witnessed.

Calem returned his Pokémon looking as angry as ever as he gritted his teeth, mad that he lost that battle.

"I'm surprised you mad it this far Ass Ketchup. But this is where you beginners luck runs out!" Calem said clenching his fists and an evil grin on his face that made Ash a bit worried about what he had planned.

"Darkrai! Lets go!" Calem yelled, throwing out his 5th Pokémon as the nightmare Pokémon stood before the flaming Infernape.

The crowd let out a loud raw because Calem was finally using one of his strongest Pokémon in this match.

"A Darkrai huh?" Ash said, impressed that Calem had such a Pokémon, but he was not afraid nor intimidated by Darkrai's presence.

"Alright Infernape! Give it everything you've got!" Ash said motivating Infernape to continue to battle.

Gary's POV

"He has a DARKRAI!" I yelled in pure surprise at what my eyes were witnessing. "How on Earth is Ash meant to beat a bloody LEGENDARY!" I yelled, thinking that there is no way Ash could win now.

"Well... Ash has actually beaten a Darkrai before, in the Sinnoh League with his Sceptile." Dawn said only causing me to go into more shock.

"ASH HAS BATTELED LEGENDARY POKEMON AND WON! AND HE HASN'T SAID ANYTHING!?" I yelled even louder still in shock as to what my ears where hearing.

"A-Ash c-can win t-this..." Serena said shyly but it didn't remove the thought of Ash actually beating a Legendary.

"Serena's right." May said backing her up this time. "Ash still has Infernape, Pikachu and 2 others! He can still win this." May continued having confidence his Ash.

"That may be but Infernape is going to run out of steam soon and Pikachu is still probably tired from its first match." Drew said pointing out the facts.

'Come on Ash you can do it!' I think to myself knowing if he has beat a legendary before he can do it again.

No One's POV

"Alright Darkrai put out Infernape's flame with Ice Beam!" Calem yells confident that this is as far as Ash will get.

Darkrai quickly forms a light sphere with a faint light blue ring on it between his hand then points the sphere are at Infernape causing streaks of ice to fly directly at Infernape.

"Infernape! Use Flamethrower!" Ash commands in a despite attempt to prevent the attack from making contact.

The two moves collide with great power creating an explosion and an opening for Ash and Infernape.

"Now Infernape! Flare Blitz! Full power!" Ash yelled giving it everything he had.

Infernape's body quickly was surrounded by a powerful blue fire as it raced towards Darkrai who had no idea what was going on. Before Darkrai could react Infernape struck causing Darkrai to take damage and be pushed back as the smoke cleared.

"WHY YOU LITTLE!" Calem said releasing his anger. "Darkrai! Now Dark Pulse!"

Darkrai didn't waste time. He quickly shot the dark purple attack directly at Infernape who had no time respond and was immediately hit by the attack.

"Infernape is unable to battle! Darkrai is the winner!" Professor Sycamore said. He was however was very impressed to see how much of a fight Ash was putting up and how much all his Pokémon seem to trust him.

"Good work Infernape. You deserve a long rest." Ash said while returning Infernape back into its pokeball and grabbing his 5th Pokémon.

"Sceptile! I choose you!" Ash said throwing out Sceptile's pokeball causing the crowed to lower the cheering so they can watch the next battle.

"Nothing you do can help you now." Calem stated very confident that he had the win in the bag.

"Darkrai use Ice Beam!" Calem commanded not wasting time.

Darkrai obey again crating the ice sphere, holding it in front of him as the beams of ice flew at Sceptile.

"Sceptile use Quick Attack!" Ash commanded knowing that he had beat a Darkrai before with Sceptile and that he could do it again.

Sceptile jumped up into the air, avoiding the beams of ice that were shot at him as a white light followed behind him as he ran towards Darkrai at amazing speed.

"Darkrai doge it!" Calem ordered but was too slow to react causing Darkrai to be hit by Sceptile's Quick Attack.

"Now Leaf Storm!" Ash commanded wanting to get a good combination of hits on Darkrai.

"Darkrai use Ice Beam again!" Calem yelled no allowing Ash to have his way.

Darkrai's Ice Beam was too fast for Sceptile to counter with his Leaf Storm meaning that Sceptile took a direct hit from his Ice Beam sending him flying back while hitting the ground hard when he landed.

"Now Darkrai! Dark Orb!" Calem yelled with an evil smirk on his face as he gave the command.

Darkrai charged up a dark purple orb and fired it at Sceptile who was on one knee and was unable to doge due to the amount of pain he was in.

The Dark Orb hit Sceptile making it wall asleep. Ash knew what Calem's next move would be and he knew he had to get Sceptile awake immediately.

"Sceptile you need to wake up! Come on Sceptile!" Ash yelled but it was no use, Sceptile was fast asleep and completely venerable to Calem's next move.

"Now Dream Eater!" Calem commanded, pointing at Sceptile knowing that he had complete control of this battle.

Darkrai's eye glowed red the a transparent version of the nightmare Pokémon went out of Darkrai's body and into the sleeping Pokémon.

"Don't give up Sceptile! You can do it! WAKE UP!" Ash yelled as it was the only thing he could do to try and wake Sceptile up.

Luckily for Ash Sceptile had heard his pleads for him to wake up and did so by shaking his head making Darkrai's Dream Eater attack useless.

"Alright Sceptile! Now use Leaf Blade!" Ash commanded knowing he had to strike now before Calem attacked again.

Two green blades formed on Sceptile's arms as he ran at Darkrai. "SCEP-TILE!" Sceptile said as he gain more and more speed eventually hitting Darkrai with his Leave Blade causing Darkrai to fall to the ground.

"D-Darkrai is unable to battle! S-Sceptile is the winner!" Professor Sycamore said in complete shock as almost everyone in the stadium was at the outcome of that battle.

"D-Darkrai r-return." Calem said also in shock that he had lost and that he was now down to his finally Pokémon.

"NOW YOUR GONNA PAY!" Calem yelled, now fully taken over by his anger. "YVELTAL LETS GO!"

Calem threw his pokeball out onto the field revealing the Y shaped Pokémon.

'This isn't good...' Ash was thinking to himself knowing that Calem has let his anger get the better of him and is going to give no mercy! 'So that means he his most likely going to try and turn all my remaining Pokémon to stone. I can't have that. I have to bet it all on my last Pokémon.' Ash continues to think, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth at the situation he was in.

"Alright Sceptile return." Ash said returning Sceptile back into its pokeball and thanking him for his work.

"Ok... Greninja! I choose you!" Ash said while throwing out Greninja's pokeball, revealing the frog-ninja Pokémon.

"HAHAHA!" Calem laughed evilly at Ash's choice. "You think your water starter is going to be able to beat my Yveltal!?" Calem mocked getting ready to destroy Ash.

"You ready Greninja? We have to go at full power right from the start in this battle." Ash said to the ninja Pokémon who gave him a confident nod understanding what they had to do.

"Alright Greninja! Stronger... STRONGER... STRONGER! LETZ GO!" Ash said, holding his fist in front of him as Greninja did also as they became in sink.

"AAAAAHHHHHH!" Ash yelled as him and Greninja became one causing a veil of water to appear out of no where around Greninja's body. This made the crowd go wild as they have never seen anything like this before. Ever Ash's friends were shocked (Even Paul) at what they were witnessing.

The water veil surrounding Greninja soon brock then forming a water sphere on Greninja's back as it absorbed all of the water from the veil then forming into a water shuriken on Greninja's back.

The crowed cheered in amazement as they took in Greninja's new appearance which looked like it had taken some features from Ash himself into his new appearance.

"HA! You think that is going to safe you! Your wrong!" Calem yelled trying to sound intimidated which he was because he has very seen anything like this.

"Yveltal! Use Hyper Beam!" Calem ordered with rage filling his voice.

The Y-shaped Pokémon released a dark purple beam from its mouth as the beam travelled quickly towards Greninja.

"Double Team! Lets Go!" Ash commanded, knowing what to do.

Greninja made multiple copies of itself causing the Hyper Beam to hit one of the fakes, making it disappear but there were still at least 30 other copies still in play.

"Now run Greninja!" Ash commanded, pointing his hand out towards Yveltal.

Greninja and its copies ran towards Yveltal knowing that Ash was looking though Greninja's eyes to see what to do next.

"USE DARK PULSE!" Calem ordered out of rage and frustration at the many clones on the field.

Yveltal obeyed, he let out the dark purple beam from his mouth holding it as he moved his head erasing all the copies and causing smoke that covered the ground of the battle field, but that didn't bother Yveltal because it was flying in the air.

"Now Greninja! Water Shuriken!" Ash commanded while reaching to his back, copying Greninja's actions as if he was the one throwing the Shuriken.

Greninja appeared out from the smoke with his water shuriken beside him, with both of his hand clenched onto it. Greninja and Ash threw the shuriken after spinning around to put more momentum into the shuriken.

After releasing the water shuriken from their grip it flew towards Yveltal and lightning speed leaving no time for Calem or Yveltal to react. The Y-shaped Pokémon took the hit which had caused some serious damage to both Yvelatl's and Calem's surprise.

"Follow it up with Aerial Ace! Ash yelled wanting to keep his momentum.

Greninja's fist went white as he launched himself at the flying Pokémon. Both Ash and Greninja threw a punch at Yveltal hitting him in the head then they both lifted their legs up into the air and kicked downwards hitting Yveltal again in the head, knocking him down to the ground.

From the sidelines everyone could clearly tell that Ash was coping Greninja's movements. And to some they found in funny watching Ash do Greninja's attacks as if he was the one battling.

"GET UP YVELTAL! AND USE OBLIVION WING!" Calem yelled knowing full well what he wanted to do with that attack.

The words 'Oblivion Wing' sunk deep into Ash's skin. He knew if he got hit even once by that move that both he and Greninja will be turned to stone because the are synced at the moment.

"Quickly Greninja doge it!" Ash yelled worried for his and Greninja's safety.

Greninja didn't hesitate jumping out of the way of the dark purple beam the Yveltal had fired causing it to his the battle field turning it to stone.

"NOW YVELTAL! PSYCHIC!" Calem yelled, telling his Pokémon its next move.

Yveltal's eyes went light blue and so did the outside of Greninja's body, showing that he was now trapped in Yveltal's Psychic.

"NOW LIFT HIM INTO THE AIR AND SMASH HIM INTO THE GROUND OVER AND OVER!" Calem yelled evilly with full blown rage in his body.

Yveltal lifted Greninja into the air and without mercy, slammed him into the stone battle field causing Ash to grasp in pain while holding his stomach. Yveltal repeated his action with no mercy causing Ash to collapse to one knee as he and Greninja helplessly took each hit from Yveltal while the crowd watched in horror.

Serena's POV

"ASH!" The whole group yelled in horror except Paul but he still had a shocked expression on his face.

I watched in horror as Yveltal smashed Greninja into the ground over and over and Ash was somehow feeling Greninja's pain which we all believed was because he was one with Greninja.

I felt my heart slowly begin ripped to shreds each time Greninja got slammed into the ground causing me to hold Ash's hat even tighter to my heart hoping that somehow his hat might protect my heart from shattering but it didn't.

Ash was now on one knee and yelling in pain. It was hurting me so much to see Ash being hurt like this. It hurt more than any torture that Calem could ever done to me... No wait this was torture and Calem was the one doing it.

Ash's POV

Pain ached through my entire body, each hit increasingly more painful than the last. But I refused to let Greninja and me fall unconscious and loose this battle. With all my strength being used at resisted. My mind kept playing the promise I made to Serena to never leave her and to always protect her and... to never give up!

Me and Greninja opened our eyes simultaneously causing the water shuriken on Greninja's back to grow bigger. Using all of our remaining strength Greninja broke out of Yveltal's Physic causing one last fall onto the stone battle field.

"You got out hey." Calem said with a smug look on his face, he knew that me and Greninja were in a lot of pain and didn't have much strength left.

"Time to end this. Goodbye, you gave up!" Calem said knowing that last part would hit hard and it did but instead of hurting me it gave me the strength I needed as images of Serena play in my head and the words Don't Give Up Till Its Over echoed through my mind as a wave of strength and determination raced through my body causing me and Greninja to stand up.

"Yveltal Oblivion Wing!" Calem commanded with a confident and evil smirk on his face.

Yveltal obeyed, firing his signature move at Greninja who was still a bit shaky from all the damage that we both have taken.

"WE DON'T GIVE UP! GRENINJA... STRONGER!" I yelled to Calem's surprise that I was still able to talk. The shuriken on Greninja's back grew in size again, it was now almost double the biggest size that I was able to get it before this battle.

"GRENINJA! WATER SHURIKEN!" I yelled, putting my right hand into the air as did Greninja while swirling the massive blue shuriken around before a veil of water surrounded Greninja and the quickly disappeared leaving the giant water shuriken now an orange colour.

"LETZ GO!" I yell completely lost in the moment as the word still echoed in my head with more memories of Serena giving me more and more strength as both me and Greninja, as one, threw the massive shuriken at Yveltal's Oblivion Wing making contact causing a massive explosion.

The shock wave had sent both me and Calem flying backwards and everyone in the crowed to be knock off their seats.

No One's POV

The smoke cleared and everyone laid eyes (except Ash who was lying face first on the ground like Greninja) on the battle field which had both Greninja and Yveltal lying face first on the ground both in serious pain.

Everyone watched on in complete silence not knowing what had happened.

"Both Pokémon are una-" Professor Sycamore began to say before he saw movement in one of the Pokémon.

Ash's POV

"It hurts." I says to himself out loud before remembering about the battle.

"The battle! Huh? Where am I?" I asked out loud while taking in my surrounding noticing that I was in a dark void with and then I looked down at the ground and realised that I was standing on water!

Before I could let amazement take over my body he heard Greninja call me. I look up to see him standing in front of me in our Ash-Greninja form.

"Greninja? Did we win?" I ask remembering about the battle.

"Gren, Greninja." He responds telling me that it's still going and that right now we our both on the verge of being unable to battle but we were still holding on.

"I know what I am about to ask is a lot Greninja but... We need to give it one last push so that we can get up. Our bodies haven't turned to stone, so Yveltal's attack didn't land! Meaning ours did. We need to us all of out strength to get up! What do you say?" I ask putting my fist outwards him, he looked at me and nodded, he reached his fist out and it meet mine.

"Let's do it Greninja!" I say with determination in my voice.

No One's POV

Ash along with Greninja twitched their arms causing Professor Sycamore to stop what he was saying to see what was going on.

Ash and Greninja very weakly pushed their injured bodies upwards so that they were on one knee. Their bodies where completely destroyed. They had cuts and bruises all over them and Ash's cloths had tares in them.

Ash and Greninja simultaneously raised there heads up causing the crowed to gasp in amazement that they haven't fainted yet.

Eventually Ash-Greninja weakly got up on both feet to show that they are still able to battle! Professor Sycamore acknowledged this then turned his head to Yveltal to see if it was still able to battle but all he saw was the Y-shaped Pokémon lying on the ground with swirls in his eyes.

"Yveltal is unable to battle! Meaning that Greninja is the winner! So the victory goes to Ash Ketchum!" Professor Sycamore yelled, signalling that Ash had won the battle. This caused the whole crowd to erupt into cheering for the outstanding battle and determination Ash and Greninja showed.

Serena's POV

"Th-they won... THEY WON!" I yelled not caring who heard me as excitement filled my body as I jumped out of my seat and began jumping in place with tears of joy falling from my eyes.

"He did it..." Paul said in complete shock that his Pokémon were able to match the power of 2 legendry's.

"That's our Ash!" Dawn said filled with joy and tears in her eyes.

Ash's POV

"Greninja we did it..." I said weakly looking at Greninja who turned around to face me as I felt all the adrenaline leave my body and knew pain that it was preventing me from felling kicked in and that was all it took.

Greninja was surrounded by a blue, glowing light as he returned back to normal form as I couldn't last any longer. I fell onto the ground, landing on my butt as I panted heavily from mine and Greninja's bond separating.

Greninja too, fell to the ground panting heavily as we both took in the crowds cheers that's when I knew that I had kept my promise.
