~(Y/n)'s POV~

When I start waking up, and my eyes start adjusting to the light, Yang is staring right back at me, under my arm. It takes me a while to notice, but once I do, I become flustered, and scramble away.

"Y-YANG?! WHEN DID YO-? HOW DID YO-?" I try asking, but not able to finish a sentence.

"Last night!" Yang starts explaining "I wanted to see what your reaction would be!"

"Really...? You decided to sleep right next to me, just to see a reaction?" I ask

"YEP!" Yang says

After I face palm, I look over, and see a girl leaning over a boy.

~Ren's POV~

As I slowly open my eyes, I see another person with orange hair staring at me.

"Wake up, Lazy Butt!" Nora yells at me.

"Ugh." I sigh, sitting up.

"It's morning! It's morning! It's morning! It's morning!" Nora cheers happily

"Ugh." I sigh again.

~Time Skip~

I'm brushing my teeth with the frown I've had on since I woke up, listening to Nora's rant.

"I...can't...believe we've been at Beacon for a full 24 hours! It's not that I thought we would be kicked out or anything, I mean, you're the perfect student, and I'm, well, me! But it's just crazy you know?" Nora rants

~Time Skip~

I'm tying up my blanket, still listening to her rant.

"We've been friends for SOOOO long!" Nora says "What are the odds we'd still be together? Well not, together, together. Not that I'm not saying you're not handsome! You are handsome, but that'd just be weird, right?"

~Time Skip~

Now, we are at breakfast, and Nora is still on the same rant.

"Right! What was I thinking?" Nora asks, with a pancake stuffed in her mouth. "But still! I hope we end up on the same team, together." Nora then slurps her pancake up like it's a piece of spaghetti. "Oooh! We should come up with a plan! To make sure we end up on the same team together. What is we bribe that master? No. That won't work. He has a school."

~Time Skip~

Now, I'm at my locker, and Nora is still ranting...

"I know! We'll have some sort of signal! Like a distress signal!" Nora then gasps "A secret signal so we can find each other in the forest! Can you imitate a sloth?"

"Nora." I say

"Yes Ren?" She asks, as I put my guns in my sleeve.

"I don't think sloths make a lot of noise.." I tell her

"That's why it's perfect!" Nora yells "No one will expect that we're working together!"

"Come on Nora. Let's go." I say, closing my locker.

"But not, together, together." Nora says, following me.

~(Y/n)'s POV~

The same two people who I saw this morning walked by us. The girl was laughing, and the guy was just walking in silence.

"Wonder what those to are worked up about." Ruby says

"Oh, who knows. So! You look offer chipper this morning!" Yang says, then turns to me. "And you look like you just got scared out of your mind."

"Can you blame?" I ask "I woke up, to see you right next to me! On the same blanket!"

"Fair enough. Why are you so chipper though Ruby?" Yang asks

"Because today will be no more awkward small talk, or getting to know you stuff! Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking!" Ruby, says rubbing her scythe.

"Well, remember Ruby, you aren't the only one going through initiation. If you want to grow up, you're just going to need to learn to meet new people, and learn how to work together!" Yang says, getting a groan from Ruby.

"You sound like Dad!" Ruby says, putting her scythe back in her locker. "Okay, first of all, what does meeting people have to do with fighting? And secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk."

"I also drink milk Ruby. But milk alone won't help you grow. People  help other people grow." I say

"And what about when we form teams?" Yang asks

"I don't know. I'll just be on your guys' team, or something." Ruby says, turning away.

"Maybe you should try being on someone else's team." Yang tell Ruby.

"My dearest sister Yang. Are you implying you do not wish to be on the same team as me?!" Ruby asks 

"What? Of course do! I just thought..." Yang starts

"She just thought it would be a good way to break out of your shell." I say

"Yea! Exactly!" Yang says

"What the-?! I don't need to break out of my shell! That's absolutely-" Ruby starts

"Ridiculous!" Jaune says, walking by.

~Jaune's POV~

"There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered to count that high! Ohhh! Why does this have to happen today?!" I yell out

~Weiss' POV~

"So Pyrrha! Have you given any thought to who's team you want to be on?" I ask the red head. "I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with a strong, well known individual, such as yourself!"

"Hm. I'm not quite sure. I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may!" Pyrrha explains.

"Well, I was thinking we could maybe be on a tea, together." I say

"Well that sounds grand!" Pyrrha says

"Great!" I say, turning away from her. 'This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class. Together we'll be unstoppable! I can already see it! We'll be popular! We'll be celebrities! We'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!' I think to myself

"You know what else is great? Me! Jaune Arc. Nice to meet you." The guy who vomited introduced himself.

"Not you again..." I say

"Nice to meet you, Jaune!" Pyrrha says

"Yeah, yeah. So, Weiss! Couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day!" Jaune says, pushing Pyrrha out of the way.

"You have GOT to be kidding me!" I say

"Don't worry! There's no need to be embarrassed! So! Been hearing rumors about teams! I was think you and me could make a good one!" Jaune says

"Well. Actually I heard the teams are actually comprised of four students, so-" Pyrrha starts

"You don't say. Well, hot stuff! Play your cards right, and maybe you could join with the winning team." Jaune says

"Jaune, was it?" I ask, pushing him away from Pyrrha. "Do you even know who you are talking to?"

"Not a clue, Snow Angel." Jaune says

"This, is Pyrrha!" I say

"Hello again!" Pyrrha waves

"Pyrrha graduated top of her class at Sanctum." I say

"Never heard of it." Jaune says, shrugging

"Ah, she's won the Mistral Regional Tournament 4 years in a row...A new record!" I try explaining

"The what?" Jaune asks

"SHE'S ON THE FRONT OF EVERY BOX OF PUMPKIN PETE'S MARSHMALLOW FLAKES BOX!" I yell, waving my arms

Jaune gasps "That's you?! They only do that for cartoon characters and star athletes!"

"Yea. It was pretty cool. Sadly thought, the cereal isn't very healthy." Pyrrha says

"So, after hearing all of this. Do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your team?" I ask

"I guess not. Sorry..." Jaune says, looking at the ground.

"Actually, Jaune. I think you'd make a great leader!" Pyrrha reassures him.

"Oh stop it!" Jaune yells with happiness in his voice.

"Seriously. Please stop it." I say "This kind of behavior really shouldn't be encouraged!"

"Sounds like Pyrrha is on board for Team Jaune." Jaune says "Sounds like spots are filling up quick. Now I'm not supposed to do this, but, maybe I could pull some strings? Find a place for you? What do you say?"

"Alright, that's a bit to close. Pyrrha, a little help please?" I ask, as she throws a spear at his hood, making him fly back.

"WAAAAAH!" Jaune yells

"I'm sorry!" Pyrrha apologizes

"Would all first year students please report to Beacon Hill immediately! Repeat, will all first year students please report to Beacon Hill immediately!" The announcer asks

Pyrrha and I start walking past Jaune, stuck into the wall with the spear.

"It was nice meeting you!" Pyrrha says, pulling her spear out.

"Likewise..." Jaune says

~(Y/n) POV~

"What's up Lady Killer?" I ask

"Having some trouble there?" Yang asks

"I don't understand! My dad said all woman look for is confidence!" Jaune yells, as Ruby sticks out her hand to help him up. "Where did I go wrong?"

"Like one big thing? Or should I make a list?" I ask

"And Snow Angel? Yeah, that probably wasn't the best start." Yang says, walking off, as Ruby helps Jaune up.

"Come on Jaune. Let's go." Ruby says, helping Jaune walk.

~Time Skip~

All the first years are on top of Beacon Hill.

"For years, you've been training to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." Ozpin explains

"Now, I'm sure most of you have heard the rumor of assignments of teams." Glynda starts "Well, let me put an end to the confusion. Each of you will be given teammates...today."

"What, aw..." Ruby says

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest that you be paired with someone who you can work well with." Ozpin explains

"Oh no..." Ruby groans

"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after you land, will be your partner for the next four years." Opzin says, practically shattering Ruby's world.

"WHAT?!" Ruby yells

"With the exception of (Y/n). He will not have a partner. He will be alone all four years." Ozpin says

"HOLD ON! WHAT?!" I yell "WHY AM I THE ONE WHO'S GOING TO BE ALONE?!"

"That doesn't matter. You just are." Ozpin says, making my throw my head down.

"See, I told you!" I hear a girl with orange hair say to a boy with a pony tail.

"After you have partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path...or you will die." Ozpin explains

"Hehe." Jaune laughs, gulping right after.

"Yeah. So...I'm still stuck on the part of me not being allowed to have a partner." I say

"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will now intervene." Ozpin explains "You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

"YEAH! WHY CAN I NOT HAVE A PARTNER?!" I yell

"I already told you, that doesn't matter right now." Ozpin says "Anymore questions?"

"Yea, um, sir-" Jaune says, raising his hand.

"Good! Now, take your positions!" Ozpin instructs us

"Um, sir? I've go a, um, a question." Jaune says, as Weiss was launched off. "So, this landing strategy thing, yeaaaaah, so w-what is it? You're like, dropping us off, or something?"

"No...You will be falling." Ozpin says, as more people get launched off.

"Oh. I see. So did you like, hand out parachutes for us?" Jaune asks

"WOOHOO!" The girl with orange hair yells, as she is launched off.

"No. You will be using your own landing strategy." Ozpin explains

"Uhuh...yea..." Jaune says, as Yang winks at Ruby and me, being launched off, and me and Ruby right after her.

"WOOHOO!" Yang yells

"So, um. What exactly is a landing strateGYYYYYYYYYYYY!" Jaune yells, being launched off in the middle of his question.

~Ozpin's POV~

I take a sip of my coffee, watching all the students falling.
