Chapter One

Third Person's POV

A slight, cool breeze gently crept through the old, pale coloured, worn out curtains of The Albridge Orphanage Home for Girls many dormitories. Where one, beautiful, young teenager lay curled up under the covers of an old creaky bed. She as expected was not the only one that was wrapped underneath and off in the many adventures of dreamland. The children and teens that were not present were already up and playing in the playroom or hanging out talking with other girls  about teenage topics such as cute boys. Many not knowing what the future held for them. While many of the girls at the orphanage were looking forward to being adopted for this one girl she was just trying to make it through the day. For Sophie the thought of adoption was not something she particularly looked forward to as in the past she had been adopted out and brought back so many times, taking away the little hope she held of being adopted every single time. Another impact that these adoption returns had  on Sophie was that she had developed PTSD due mostly to the rejection and the traumatic experiences she had gone through while at these homes. Sadly her life at Albridge Orphanage wasn't much better in fact it was hell. Due to not only the awful nuns that ran it but also by the other girls she was surrounded by. They were all so nasty to her except one. The many children either ignored her completely or bullied her relentlessly as they found her to be weird with her head always stuck  in a book or her diary or off in dreamland  and well the nuns just thought she was a waste of space. Then again they found all the children a waste of space and would much rather be in the parochial house with the father drinking wine and probably doing things people would be ashamed off if they knew that's what they would be getting up to. To the outside the future for a girl like Sophie looked bleak but little did anyone realise that was all about to change.

Sophie's POV

"Girls get up, you have been in bed far too long and should be ashamed of yourself" Sister Angela, the headmistress bellowed right in my ear, frightening the daylights out of me.

"Uh" I murmured fighting to get used to the bright overhead main light as Sister Angela yanked the bed covers off me.

"Get up you ungrateful little girl and follow the other girls to the chapel right now". She then through the bed covers back at me and stomped out of the room.

For those of you who have no idea whose talking to you let me introduce myself. My name is Sophie Peraz. I am a seventeen year old orphan like many of the girls that surround me. I have been at Albridge Orphanage for Girls since I was three weeks old with no idea who my parents are. I don't get on with many if any of the girls here. As they all find me weird as to cope with being in this place I spend a lot of time off in dreamland, imagining the future, reading any books I can get my hands on and writing these hopes and dreams for the future in my precious journal. I would consider myself to be funny and outgoing if given the chance but as expected I am never given. Besides the girls making my life a living hell here by bullying me every chance they get. The nun aren't much better all except one who I am grateful to say has taken me under her wing. That being Sister Lilly who is like the mother I never knew. Without her I don't know how I would have made it through this place on a daily basis. She provides me with warmth and love something which a lot of the girls here don't receive. For that I am incredibly lucky. To describe me in detail I am around 5 foot 3 with shoulder length blonde hair and baby blue eyes. I quickly finish getting dressed just as Sister Lilly approaches me and pulls me into a hug.

"You okay pet?" she coos

"I'm okay thanks I just wish she would lay she would lay off me"

"I know listen I'll try and keep her away from you" "Let's get you to mass so we avoid you getting into any more trouble okay". She then quickly ushered me out of the room and we were on our way. When we arrived I quickly went to my spot while she stayed behind to watch over me. Once mass was finished we all headed back to the orphanage. However as I was about to cross the road on my way back. I was suddenly pulled from behind and shoved into a nearby wall. Smacking my head off it and collapsing to the floor.

"Ugly Whore, Bitch" I vaguely heard and managed to look up to see a nasty sight. Standing over me was Bianca and her goons who let me tell you were responsible for much of the hell that I experience here at the orphanage. They were laughing at pointing at me as I lay on the ground. Sister Lilly then rushed over and ordered them to leave before tending to me as the other children and nuns walked on as if nothing had occurred.

"Are you okay?" she asked helping me stand

"I think so" I said hanging on to her as I still felt dizzy.

"Come on let's get you back and cleaned up" "Don't worry Bianca and her goons will not get away with this". Carefully and slowly Sister Lilly lead me back to the orphanage and took me straight to the nurse's station. Who cleaned me up before Sister Lilly guided me to one of the lounges where I stored some of the few possessions I possessed in a locked cupboard just like the other children. I took out my precious journal and the few craft materials I had and placed them down on one of the coffee tables.  As I was busy drawing I suddenly heard a shriek and glanced up to see Bianca being dragged out of the room along with two of her goons by the nuns. Sister Lilly then approached.

"What's going to happen to her?" I asked

"Like I said she is being dealt with for what she did to you earlier". Since she didn't explain exactly what was going to happen to Bianca and her goons I didn't press her. I just went back to my journal as she resumed her seat to supervise the room. After awhile Sister Lilly rose and informed us it was time for dinner and to go to the dining hall. So I quickly locked my possessions back in the cupboard to prevent Bianca and her goons from getting their hands on them and followed everyone to the dining room. As we took our seats food was given to us. It was a pile of mush which kind of resembled lasagne. I reluctantly placed in my mouth and swallowed. It tasted disgusting but I had no choice but to bare it. After dinner we were forced to go to our dorms as tomorrow was a school day which meant rising early. To attend more mass and then go to school. Which also meant more nuns hounding me so I just hoped my life would get better soon.

Third Person's POV

Reading quietly in one of many of New Orleans private mansion libraries sat Louis De Pointe Du Lac in a fine red velvet armchair by a warm open fire with many wood stacks close by to keep in going all night long. While he was immersed in one of his many books, a blonde charmer known to people as Lestat appeared, grinning from ear to ear. Louis having felt his friends presence looked up to see him, knowing that with the presence of the grin on his face that he was up to something which made him weary.

"Louis my good friend" Lestat said pouncing on the armchair across from him. Louis sighed placing his book down and turning to find out what crazy scheme his friend had come up with. Lestat's mood then suddenly changed and he looked at Louis with a look of sadness etched in his eyes, making Louis fear the worst. Lestat then said something which shocked Louis.

"Louis I know that we will never get over the loss of our little Claudia" This struck a cord with both of them as they both missed their long lost daughter so much and neither of them had spoken about her for  many decades. Tears were threatening to fall out of Louis's eyes as he missed her so much and would give anything to bring her back.

"However we could use another girl around the house as my mother would say so how about we give another little girl a home". Louis didn't know what to think as he didn't want to replace Claudia but like Lestat wouldn't mind having another girl around the house.

"Okay" Louis whispered not knowing if he had made the right choice.

"Great" Lestat barked "Tomorrow Louis we will start looking for our precious lady". Lestat then left Louis in peace to grapple with the decision.
