_____

"It's not funny, Hunain."

The Jordanian Prince still laughed out loud, hearing Haya's groan as a response.

"I know, Haya. It's just that while I was here dealing with my country's drama, you've been dealing with family and marital issues. It's kind of sad."

She hadn't really talked to him properly in a while. Both of them had been so occupied with their personal life that no one had bothered to have a detailed conversation. It was only when the news of Illyas and Suhoor broke out that Hunain gave her a call, not believing what he had just heard and been invited to.

"Are you calling me boring now?" Haya questioned, since she had filled him in on the family drama that had transpired lately along with the so-called pregnancy issues.

"A little bit, I mean where's the fire Haya?"

All of her friends believed that her fire had been burned out, her spunk and energy was slowly decreasing but what they didn't understand was that she didn't mind it.

"It got burned out. Was I really naive to think that nothing could impact Amir and my relationship? There's literally two fucking countries and now his sister."

She grumbled in annoyance, which was probably amusing to her friend.

"I was so pissed when you didn't tell me about Illyas. The invitation made my entire mind spin. Illyas? What?"

Hunain responded, making her shrug even though he couldn't see her.

"You'll be here, right?" She questioned, seeing her mother walking towards the hall to meet her.

She had arrived in Buredaan two days ago, since her brother was going to get married this week. While there were alot of mouths running and trying to get her to stay in Maraaish, Haya knew there was no way in hell she could.

"It's going to be mom and I, so country duties ahead of drama this time." Hunain murmured over the call, telling her that while he was excited for the drama..he was also going to be representing his family at the event.

"It's okay, I'm sure she's coming for the gossip too. The entire Buredaan is talking about it,"

Haya grumbled, still pissed that she had been forced to delete her rant on the media's take on her brother's wedding.

Yusuf and Amir had been biting her head off, telling her not to engage in anything.

"We're Royals, Haya. We're always in the news..it's okay." The Prince replied with pride, causing Haya to chuckle back.

She knew he was referring to his own drama too. His little sister had crashed a car into a fancy hotel in Greece, inviting drama.

"Yeah. I already did what your sister is in the news about, like ten years ago."

Haya remembered, feeling like that was some other time of her life.

"She's in her rebellious teenager phase. It's entertaining seeing her freak everyone out." Hunain commented, laughing as Haya laughed along.

"And how's Aaliyah? She has been quiet since marriage. Is she domesticated already?"

It was true.

Aaliyah had cut herself off from most people, which didn't make much sense to Haya.

Before the pregnancy announcement, she never really seemed happy with Yusuf. Every time she would get question about it by Haya, she would choose to either change the topic or lie.

Haya didn't push her much on it either, since she was going through her own problems.

And now, they seemed okay. Aaliyah seemed happy enough. There was no point in questioning anything.

"She's pregnant already." She told her friend, whose eyes widened in surprise.

"What?"

"Yeah, she told me when she came to Maraaish a few weeks ago. I had an attack right after." Haya mumbled, shaking her head.

She always felt so unjudged with Hunain that she spew out everything she felt inside. He never felt shocked or surprised by her remarks, since he knew she was the least judgemental person he had ever met.

"It's petty to get jealous from your best friend, no?" Hunain cross questioned, causing her to let out a sigh.

It was difficult to explain how she felt. The world jealous wasn't even right to use in such a situation but she constantly felt bad and belittled, she constantly felt like she wasn't good enough. It was exhausting.

"I wasn't jealous, I was just.."

She trailed off, taking a deep breath.

"Okay.. so you know how you want something and you've been like trying to get it for so long but you don't? And then the same thing falls into another person's lap? Just like that?"

She snapped her fingers to prove a point, instantly feeling guilty because she didn't know the struggles of Aaliyah or her own brother. They must have problems too.

"Yeah, I know. I was only pulling your leg." Hunain said after a moment of silence, Haya hummed in response..as she saw the other phone ring.

"Alright, Amir's video calling me. I'll talk to you later."

She hung up on Hunain, without so much as a goodbye.

"Okay, don't worry. I will make sure no one interferes again. You spend all the time you want and then come back, alright?"

He was hearing her complain for the past ten minutes when he decided to put an end to it. It wasn't that she was talking ill or her family but there was a certain distaste because his 'other' mother had also sent a message to her, telling her to be home for Suhoor's first wedding event as she was needed there.

Haya had literally ignored the message but after two calls from Akbar and Waleed's wives and then another one from Amir's actual mother, she had started to feel awful and annoyed.

When Amir called her to ask about it, Haya burst her frustration out.

"But Amir, your actual mother also called me. I can't say no to her like that, I like her. She wanted me there for the first event and now I feel guilty."

She further added, seeing the pleased smile on his face when she told him she liked his mother.

"I'm just worried that they'll think I can't even listen to the one nice request that they made, no one was even a tiny bit mean to me."

And that was true. Amir's other mother wasn't relevant to Haya but the other women that called her, they had all been absolutely sweet and kind with their words. They hadn't ordered or instructed, they had requested.

When Haya frowned again, Amir let out a sigh and told her to calm down.

"Haya, why do you need to worry when you have me, hmm? Don't frown."

He told her, not really bothered about the situation. From the first day, he had understood that her family would always remain a huge priority for her and he actually appreciated that alot. At the same time, his own family hadn't given her enough reasons to feel the same way about them. Apart from his mother, no one had tried to be close to Haya and neither had Haya tried to do the same. The cultural difference was too much.

All he hoped was that time would slowly break the barriers.

"You stay there with your family and then come back when you want to. Everyone understands that your brother is getting married, no one will say anything." He told further, but Haya still looked unsure.

"And if you're feeling too guilty, I can arrange a one day visit. You come here and attend the event, then fly back. Okay?"

He tried, because he didn't want her to be upset. The past few months had been hard on her. First the miscarriage, the problems in their own marriage, Illyas and Suhoor's wedding, the child that she wanted to adopt and now Aaliyah's pregnancy, things were complicated already.

Haya slowly let out a nod because that sounded way better than sitting in Buredaan and feeling guilty.

Besides, Illyas had left for a meeting in France and Shahid was yet to come back from his trip to turkey. Her father and Yusuf were also busy with their duties. At the same time, she had spent enough time with Aaliyah and the more she sat with her, the more incomplete she felt.

"Okay. Yes, can we do that?" Amir hummed.

"Obviously. I'll be lucky enough to see you too in this way." He murmured, playful as his swollen eyes crinkled and dimples came out when he chuckled.

"Is that your way of saying you miss me?" Haya questioned back, and he nodded.

"I do, baby. So much." He affirmed, affectionate in typical Amir manner.

"Then I'll come back right away, fuck the families." She cursed out, to which the Crown Prince clicked his tongue and shook his head in disappointment.

"Haya, astaghfirullah."

In this normal moment, she had come to realise one simple thing. There were so many complications around and while she faced a lot of those problems on her on own, she always shared them with him as well. No matter what the world thought of them and no matter how how busy their lives were, in typical husband and wife fashion, she complained and he always listened.

The only difference was, unlike most man, he actually had her problems and tried to fix them. On the contrary, he hardly complained..

Well, except for when it came to her clothes or her media presence or her cursing or her opinions on so many things..

Actually, he complained too. But definitely not the way she did.

"Amir.." she slowly said, as she saw him get up from the bed, still holding the phone with one hand.

"I complain about one thing or the other everyday and you just look at me and tell me you'll fix it, that I don't need to worry." She stated, not asking anything and not even wondering.

It was just a statement.

The Crown Prince stared at her through the phone, waiting for her to finish.

"So?" He questioned when she didn't speak, watching her shrug.

"I like that you complain, Haya. I like that you come to me and share it all with me." He honestly told her, causing her to hum this time.

"Who else would I go to? If you get annoyed by my many complaints, just tell me." She instructed, he smiled.

"My love, making you happy makes me happy as well. You would never annoy me."

Haya rolled her eyes at the affection. Why did he always have to sound so fucking genuine?

"Either I'm too good in bed or you're just too good to be true." She grumbled, picking up the cup of coffee from the table.

"Or maybe we're very compatible?" Amir suggested, Haya let out a laugh.

"Said no one ever." She mumbled, Amir chuckled as well..since they were obviously poles apart.

"You remember that you can't say anything controversial in the interview today?"

She was going to give an interview on a national channel in Buredaan today and Amir was worried about it obviously.

"I won't. Don't worry about it, I know how to handle it." Haya replied, hoping that she wouldn't say something 'controversial'

"That's my girl. I have a meeting so I need to take a shower now. I'll see you then?"

He asked, causing her to nod.

"Of course, you go." She ushered.

"Just smile, yeah? Be okay." He whispered but it was audible enough.

"I'm okay, Amir. I am."

She put him at ease, hanging up the call.

"I still remember how you used to be present at every one of our national events. It's been almost two years since we have not seen you, don't you miss Buredaan?"

Haya had known the woman since she did a special interview of King Najaf when Haya was only ten. She was the person who showed the royal family with a normal light, how her father interacted with his wife, his children..it all made the general public appreciate him even more.

"I used to miss it a lot in the beginning but now, even when I'm here.. I know that I have to go back home so it's just gotten easier."

Haya answered, continuing.

"At first, I wouldn't even call it home. I just felt like the moment I accepted that country as my home.. I would kind of stop thinking the same about my own country but then Amir made me realise that wasn't true." She said, watching as the woman paid attention to her and waited for her to finish speaking so she could follow up with another question.

"He said something along the lines of.. why do you think like that? you should be lucky that you have two homes now instead of just having one and I thought it was a beautiful perspective to look at things."

"Do you feel like you have matured over the past few years as compared to the person that you were earlier?"

"I really don't know. I think that we never really change who we are as people but we do grow and evolve. I certainly have evolved but I have not changed at core."

It was Haya's ideology about life. She didn't think anyone could change their entire personality. Sure, growth made people think that they had changed with time but Haya didn't believe in that.

"What's the best thing about being married and being married to someone who who is similar to you?"

"Similar to me in aspect that he belongs to a royal family as well but really not similar in how we are as people and even countries."

Haya corrected, continuing.

"So can you imagine two countries whose people are so different and yet we got married? I feel like we were one of the lucky ones that we got married without any hurdles."

Of course, she couldn't talk about the hurdles that she had been facing ever since the marriage.

"Talking about marriage.. they have been quite a few in the family lately. First it was the Crown Prince..he's married to Princess Aaliyah now, who is your cousin as well."

Haya knew she was trying to mention Illyas' marriage. It was a surprising situation for everyone because no one had believed that Prince Illyas would settle down at thirty.

"Now it's Prince Illyas, marrying Princess Suhoor this week, who happens to be your sister in law. Did you play any part in arranging it?"

Alot of the so called Royal insiders had revealed that it was Princess Haya who had pushed the both towards marriage. If only they knew.

"No, I didn't." Haya clarified, giving the same answer that everyone had been told to give.

"It was something that the elders wanted and my brother or Princess Suhoor didn't oppose to it." She murmured, earning a curious look from the brunette woman.

"And are you comfortable with that? we have always felt that such relationships could complicate things and you are already in a complicated enough relationship?"

Haya smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Not at all. Infact, I never see my relationship as complicated. It's just a happy marriage. It should be about love and nothing else."

She answered. In reality, she knew that love was enough to make a relationship work but it was not enough to make a marriage work.

"You used to work a lot for the welfare of our people and then you also became the deputy human Rights Minister over here but do you think that you have certainly taken a back foot when it comes to you working for the welfare because you are in a different country now?"

It was one of the most asked questions in Buredaan. Haya shook her head.

"Not at all. Buredaan and Maraaish are my homes, I'm always trying to pitch in different ideas and I've already started to work on a few more orphanages here,"

She had only started the discussion about it but she knew she had to say something concrete.

"Maraaish is my home as well and I am working there too. It's just that you need to really understand a country and then learn how to better things for them so I am being careful with my decisions and I am trying to bring a change but I don't want to cause offence to anyone either."

She explained, hoping that the answer was good enough.

"Right. There was a news a couple of months ago about you offending the men of the country because of your statement which you retracted later on."

Haya raised her eyebrow, then shook her head.

"I did not retract my statement. It was twisted and I corrected it. That was all." She corrected, as the interviewer moved to the next question.

"Your highness, you had a very strong social media and electronic media presence when you were here. I did a poll on social media a couple of days ago about you and how your personality has changed and a lot of people agreed with me. Do you?"

Haya let out a small chuckle, cross questioning in return.

"do I agree with your statement that my personality has changed or not?"

When the lady only shrugged, Haya decided to answer in her own manner.

"As I said, we grow and evolve everyday..if you look at me from three years ago and you look at the person that I am today, you might find a lot of changes. I stand by that." She defended, adding more.

"I feel like before I used to speak up for so many things that I was always in the news but it was not as concrete as it is now. The things that I feel for so strongly, I still speak up for them."

She continued, taking a small break to make sure she was saying things in the right manner.

"I'll give you an example and I think that might make people understand who I am as a person now as well."

"A couple of days ago there was a lot of hype about our women football team not being allowed to play international matches. I saw so much criticism and there was so much talk but no one was really doing something about it."

She used her hands to elaborate, as she spoke more and more.

"I knew that I could do something about it so I did it instead of speaking against every ten minutes. I did what I could have done in that situation and now look at them, they're in the semi finals now."

The woman seemed satisfied with the answer, moving forward with the interview.

"We had an interview with Princess Aaliyah last month and she agreed that there was a lot of change in you after marriage but it was the good kind of change. When you talk, there is a certain way that subconsciously reminds me of who you are married to. Do you ever feel the pressure of it? Do you feel like things are different because you are not the daughter but the daughter-in-law there?"

Haya shook her head.

"I have never taken the pressure of being a daughter or daughter in law or wife or a sister. Why should I? Does a man take pressure of being someone's father or someone's son or someone's brother in my world? I don't think so. I'm just a woman, that's my identity."

She clearly said, seeing how the time was up as well.

"And with that note, we thank you so much for giving us your time. It was honor to see you again."

"Oh Haya, thank you so much for wearing this. I didn't expect you to."

It was her mother-in-law, absolutely pleased by the way she had worn the dress gifted to her without a single protest. She hadn't expected Haya to wear traditional Maraaishi clothing, since her choices and culture were different. Still, Haya had worn the white dress with golden embroidery. And lots of it at that.

"I wanted to. It's beautiful, a little golden but I don't mind that." Haya replied, since she did feel a little uncomfortable in the clothes but at the same time, she liked the way they looked on her.

Besides, Amir was so in awe the moment he saw her. It was all worth it.

"And you paired it up with my necklace. I love you even more for it," She heard her mother in law add, to which Haya only smiled and nodded.

She had been so ecstatic the moment Haya had arrived.

"And I am very happy that you're not opposing to this marriage. And that you came on my request."

Haya chuckled, because on God, she had spent an hour cursing everything and everyone in Maraaish for what was happening to Illyas. She had even decided to talk to her father, just to feel a bit better but her mother had strictly advised against it.

"You're a Queen, you order me." Haya playfully said, and Queen Azeezah shook her head. She wasn't expecting Haya to be so open and kind to her. Not this way.

"Did Amir put you upto this?" She questioned, a little surprised.

If anything, Amir had told her to not visit and he would handle everything.

"No. It's just that I've never had a problem with you and I want you to know that. It's always been his other mother because she never respected me and, you did."

Haya told the woman, catching the shake of the woman's head when Haya called Queen Salma, the other mother.

The head shake was so similar to Amir's. He was her son after all.

"You are the daughter in law of my first born son and how can I not respect someone he loves so much?" Queen Azeezah replied.

"That's exactly why I couldn't say no to you." Haya murmured, sitting down on the sofa as the woman made her sit with her.

They were right outside the hall next to Amir and Haya's place in the Palace.

"Suhoor looked happy, right? She was glowing." The Queen mentioned, Haya didn't really know what to say to that.

Suhoor looked well. She looked beautiful and everyone was smothering her with the attention but the moment Haya looked at her, Suhoor had looked away.

She really didn't know the reason behind it. Maybe Suhoor felt guilty or maybe she was scared that Haya would ask her questions she didn't want to answer.

"I don't know. I have seen people fake themselves enough to understand that they are not always happy when they are pretending to be happy." Haya answered, not saying anything directly.

"Do you think she will be happy with the Prince?"

Despite not birthing Suhoor, it was nice to see the way Queen Azeezah cared for her.

Haya didn't want to lie.

"Illyas is not the Prince on a white horse. He is the Prince on an aircraft who has his left leg in one country and the right one in another."

She told the woman, adding more when the Queen listened with intent.

"I don't know if they will be happy in their married life or not because all of this was so sudden and forced but, my family loves its women. They are cherished and loved like anything, so I'm hoping that she will adjust easily and be happy at some point."

She elaborated, looking at her.

"She will be the youngest in that family, that's a plus." Haya further said, causing the Queen to hum knowingly.

"Not for long, right? I heard Princess Aaliyah is expecting?"

She swallowed, since the news had already spread like wildfire. It was still not announced but somehow Amir's mother had come to know of it.

"She is. She told me when she came here last time. They are very happy." Haya replied, uncomfortable and suddenly too tight in her dress.

She felt like everytime someone asked her about Aaliyah, they were judging her for not being good enough.

"And how do you feel about that?"

"What do you mean?" Haya feigned ignorance.

"This sudden emptiness came inside you, Haya. The moment you talked about it, your eyes blanked out."

Her heart suddenly felt heavy and when the Queen put her arm around Haya's shoulder, she couldn't help but vent out.

" I know that everyone thinks I don't want a child so soon and my ego allows everyone to think that way but,"

She looked at the woman, and her voice cracked.

"I do want a baby and I have been trying.. I don't know when this will happen and I don't know if it will or not but your son has such an unflinching faith that I keep on hoping that it will happen as well."

She said, causing her mother in law to gaze at her with concern.

"Haya, you know the culture is very different here right? And you know that as a woman it's very hard to survive here."

"I know."

"Haya, my son loves you..he really does but a child is something that binds a marriage to its fullest. It's important."

Once again, Haya already knew that.

"I know." She said again.

"Everyone thinks that I did not mind it when the King married another woman. It broke me apart, it tore me the day I found out that he was going to marry again."

Haya had not even once heard the woman complain about anything related to King Abdullah's multiple marriages.

"He loved me, he still does but a part of me is always angry at him for having someone else in his life. When he was about to marry again and he was assuring me that it would never change things between us, I asked him if he was marrying out of love or any other reason."

She was telling something so private that Haya directed all her attention towards her words.

"He told me it wasn't because he loved another, it was because he needed heirs and I couldn't give it to him anymore. You know I had cancer after Amir and I couldn't have more children."

Haya remembered the first time Amir had mentioned all of it, during their initial meeting.

"From that day onwards I promised myself that whenever my son has a wife, I will tell her this."

It took her almost two years to say anything of this sort. Haya wondered why she hadn't said anything up until now.

"But then he married you and I knew you would feel offended if I told you to pull out children the year you get married."

She said it as a joke but there was alot of truth to it.

"But I am telling it to you now, Haya. Men are unpredictable and a man like Amir, a man in his position..needs heirs. I don't ever want you to be in my position, so have children soon."

She advised, Haya looked at her with a frown on her face.

"I just told you that it's not in my hands." She shot back.

"So you take all the medical help you need, even the help that is not allowed in our country because who is ever going to question the Crown Prince? These are traditional norms but you have to look past them and think about what you and Amir need right now,"

She lectured, Haya felt her heart squeeze.

"Get help, Haya. It's okay to do that. It's okay to do it artificially."

Artificially?

Amir always looked so uncomfortable with any suggestion of that sort. Infact, the moment it was clear that his sperm count was fine..he didn't want anything to do with the artificial or medical ways to have children.

"I've talked about it with Amir and he doesn't want to do that. His face gets red the moment I bring it up."

"He'll listen to you. You have to try harder before it's too late."

Haya knew what her mother in law was trying to convey.

You need to have a child before Amir ends up marrying another woman.

"Before it's too late? Amir would never even look at another woman, let alone marry one." Haya stated with extreme confidence.

"Haya, I know my son. He wouldn't want to, it would kill him to do something like this but he would have to. He would be forced into it,"

She insisted, Haya narrowed her eyes.

"If he wouldn't go through with it, he would lose his Crown Prince status."

"I know him. He would rather lose it than lose me, not just because he loves me but because it wouldn't be fair." She responded one more time, her heart clenching at the whole conversation.

It had gone from an actual heart to heart to what Haya felt like was a threat or some sort of ultimatum.

"And would you be able to live with the guilt that the man you love had to face such an international embarassment because you couldn't give him a child?!"

It wasn't just her words but also the way she had said it. Her tone was absolutely filled with anger and bitterness, like she was reliving her personal experiences.

It angered Haya. It hurt her.

She was not just a piece of flesh. She was so much more.

"You started from acting like my mother to actually insulting me about my greatest insecurity." Haya murmured, getting up.

"I have to go." She announced, because no way in hell would she take this shit and not tell Amir about it.

"Haya, wait!" Haya didn't bother to stop when they woman kept calling out her name, entering her room and thankful when she saw her husband inside already.

He frowned when he saw the anger on Haya's face.

"Haya? What's going on?" He questioned, frowning when he saw Queen Azeezah also enter the room without so much as a knock.

He knew something had obviously gone wrong.

"Your mother told me to push a child out of me as soon as possible or you'll be forced to marry another woman." Haya replied, crossing her arms around her chest.

Amir raised his eyebrows in surprise, looking behind Haya.

"Mother, did you say that?" He questioned the woman, who further neared them.

"I didn't say it like that, Amir. All I did was tell her that she needed to have a child as soon as possible because it would cause issues. I shared my own story with her." She explained, but seeing his woman's flushed cheeks and embarassed gaze, seeing her tear stained eyes..it caused him to feel the same way.

"And how many times have I mentioned that you can not talk to her about having a child?"

He questioned his mother. It was the first time Haya had heard Amir talk to his own mother this way. She had made him do that.

"I was only advising her, Amir. Haya, you're taking it the wrong way."

"But how can you advise me when I just told you that I've been trying and it's not happening?" Haya questioned back.

"I didn't mean it in the way it was perceived. I was just worried about you." She clarified,

"Mother, I understand you're worried but I thought we had an understanding too. I told you not to talk to Haya about an heir.."

He enquired, looking more serious than ever.

"I didn't mean that, son. I was just-"

"I know, mother. I understand you must have not meant it but you still brought up the conversation. Why? What is the point?"

Haya swallowed, feeling responsible for the way he was talking to the Queen.

She suddenly felt like a bitch.

"Amir," Haya put her hand on his arm, looking at the Queen.

"I got triggered. I've been trying and it's frustrating." She excused, looking at her mother in law.

"I'll visit you both later, once my son calms down." Queen Azeezah said instead, walking out of the room with a disappointed look on her face.

Haya could not believe she had rushed to Amir at the slightest inconvenience.

In reality, the idea of someone else just for the sake of a baby..it made her get a little crazy.

"You won't marry someone else if I didn't have a child, right?" She suddenly asked Amir, who frowned at her.

"And why would we not have a child? Are you mad?" He questioned back, causing Haya to click her tongue.

"But you promised that you would never, you put it in the clause and your sister is marrying my brother..it will be really complicated if you did and you can't marry anyone, you're not even allowed to look at another woman!"

Haya exclaimed, feeling crazier than usual. Her mother in law had put this fear within her, she hated for even questioning Amir about it.

"Haya, it upsets me that you would even think I can look at any other woman." Amir replied, understanding her but also feeling upset that she hadn't understood him.

"I don't back away from my promises, I don't break the clause that I added myself during our marriage. I would never do anything to jeopardize my sister's marriage-" He cleared it all out, but he knew that was not what she wanted to hear from him.

"But all of that is nothing compared to my love for you. Why would I need any other woman when I have you?" He enquired, continuing when she pouted and only stared ahead.

"And how many times have I told you that we will have a baby. It's really not been that long, it's okay." He assured, finding her lean close to him.

"You promised me you would stop obsessing over it." He reminded her, cupping her jaw.

"And I did, then your mother started the topic and I-" she couldn't even complete the sentence and he didn't want her to.

"Nevermind. She won't ever do it again, I'm sorry on her behalf."

"It's okay. It's fine." She whispered, putting her arms around him as she hugged the life out of him.

Amir had only just held her back when the phone started to ring and he moved away, giving her an apologetic look.

"Just a moment, I think I need to take this."

He took the phone, holding it in his ear. For a few minutes, he spoke in an arabic dialect that was hard for Haya to understand. It was only when he switched to english that she listened to the conversation.

"They what?!" Whatever he heard as a response, it did not please him.

"No, it's alright. I will inform father right away." He hung up the call, looking at Haya.

"Is everything okay?" She asked, curious as to what had happened.

"Another Iran and America conflict, Saudi Arabia is also a part of it this time. We need to assess things." Amir replied, ready to leave as he had to meet his father right away.

"I have to go. Will I see you tonight or are you going back?"

"No, I'll stay with you. I'll go back later."

Amir was so close to leaving the room when he turned around and called her name.

"Haya?"

"Hmm?"

"Don't tweet anything, please."

Haya gave him a look, letting out a chuckle.

"As if."

"Illyas, you're getting married tomorrow. Why are we here again?"

They were all gathered around a yacht on the coast of Buredaan, with a couple of drinks and a very glum Prince Illyas.

Haya, Yusuf, Shahid, Aaliyah, a few of Illyas' friends from Buredaan and of course, the three of his closest pals from America.

It was quite surprising that America's pop Princess had shown up, even though Illyas had told Haya that he broke her heart.

She really didn't know what had gone down between them but she couldn't imagine how the woman was literally here for the man she loved, just to see him get married.

How was it that a woman could have the world at her feet and she would still fall weak because of one man?

"Exactly why I'm here. That's tomorrow's problem." Illyas replied, gulping down another drink in one go.

"The problem is that you're still calling it a problem, Illyas. You liked the girl enough to sleep with her, now try to love her too." It was his older brother with the advice, which Illyas chose to ignore.

When Haya looked at Aaliyah, who was just as frustrated as her because both of them could not drink..she rolled her eyes at the entire fiasco.

"I think I'm going to be sea sick." She mouthed to Haya, who nodded and motioned her to go inside and lay down for a while.

Once Aaliyah had walked away, Haya focused her attention back on her brother.

"You are marrying another girl. You really think your ex showing up is a good idea?" She questioned, gesturing towards Nikki.

"Nikki is one of my closest friends. She wanted to be here,"

Maybe she wanted to see if Illyas would atleast hesitate or maybe she wanted to live with the pain and accept it. Haya didn't really know.

"Illyas, I really want to direct a whole movie here. Do you think it would be easy to get permission?"

Haya wanted to snap at Alesandro and tell him how dumb he was. He was best friends with a Prince. He didn't even need permission. Idiot.

"Do I look like the fucking minister of culture and arts?" Illyas snapped, shaking his head and taking a hold of the vodka.

Usually, he would atleast mix something and drink it. This time, he didn't even care.

"I can't even insult you back because you're the almighty Prince here." Alesandro shot back, gesturing towards the entire yacht.

"No, he's the almighty Prince. I'm just a Prince."

Illyas looked at his brother, pointing towards him.

Haya knew something had happened between the two. While Yusuf had still maintained a calm composure, clearly their conversation had irked the younger Prince.

"Even then, enough influence to put me in a dark dungeon." Alesandro murmured, Illyas shot him a look.

"It's Buredaan, not bloody fucking  Maraaish." he insulted, and for the first time..despite her dislike for the country, Haya felt offended too.

"Illyas, that's enough." Haya tried to take a hold of the drink in his hand, but he only glared at her in return.

"You offended, Haya? I learned the term from you." He responded, Haya groaned.

"Maybe you should stop, yeah? You're getting married tomorrow and being hung over isn't the best look on you. You'll look stupid." She tried, because a part of her felt sorry for him.

"Maybe you should stop interfering in what I can or can't do. Yeah? You're the one looking stupid to me right now."

Her brother was not the one to hold back but Haya hated that he had started in front of everyone.

"I understand that you're upset about the situation but maybe if you hadn't put your dick in the wrong hole, you wouldn't be suffering right now."

She didn't want to be a bitch, she wanted to stay sane but this was Illyas and how could she ever not insult him back?

When she looked at Illyas, she expected to see angry and another insulting response.

What she saw was incredible hurt.
