Drama, romance and sad shit all combined in one chapter. Probably the smallest chapter I've written so far but still it's like 3800 words.

Trying to be better at updating again :))

Haya x Amir

"How hard was it to just say that you love both the countries equally? Don't you know how hard it is to actually control what they send on air?"

She thought it was quite stupid. The host had questioned her whether she liked Maraaish more now since she lived there and Haya had told him that no place could be like Buredaan.
That was literally it.

It was a single statement to one of the most prestigious press company in the world and they had twisted it anyway. Now here Amir was, telling her that she had done something wrong.

Amir had already taken care of the situation, making sure that nothing negative would go on air. However, social media didn't really forget anything and it could never be censored.

"But they didn't! You made sure of it." Haya exclaimed, angry that he was already creating a fuss a few hours after her return.

"Yes, I did. And then their own team leaked it on social media to cause chaos. Are you happy now?"

She remained quiet and rolled her eyes in return, Amir shook his head in annoyance.

"You love drama, Haya. You love giving controversial statements without caring about me or my country!"

He was getting loud too, something that wasn't an everyday occurence.

"That's not true. You're just looking for a reason to be mad." She responded, Amir shrugged as if he couldn't disagree with her.

"Yes, I am." He affirming, continuing.

"And let's not forget how you said the country's men don't want women to move forward. As if the men of this country aren't against you already!"

And there it was, the real reason. Haya stood by her words, she wouldn't take them back. Men had small egos that got hurt, she was right about that.

"Was it not true? I mean this is a country where the King is forcing his own daughter to marry someone else." She shot back, Amir couldn't believe she was using this as a comeback.

"Haya, for the love of God, please. Enough of this." He insisted, Haya took a deep breath to calm herself down but he really wasn't letting her do so.

"I told you to behave and this is what you did." He mumbled, Haya glared at him.

"I'm not your puppet. I can never be that person. If you wanted a wife like that, you should have married someone from here." She pointed out, causing him to look back at her in frustration.

"You're the one who came onto me." He remarked casually, reminding her of the time where she had tried to kiss him in the Palace and he had told her she was making him sin.

"You asked me if I was single or not!" Haya yelled out, Amir clicked his tongue.

"Yeah well, I didn't think you'd be so stubborn."

For once, he wanted to win an argument. With Haya, it wasn't possible.

"And I didn't think you'd question your decision of marrying me." She retorted.

"You really have an answer to everything, don't you?" Amir grumbled, she crossed her arms against her chest in return.

"You really have an opinion on everything I do, don't you?" She said back in the same tone.

"Haya." He called out her name, just to let her know that he was done.

"Amir." Haya took his name in the very same tone, telling him that she was pretty done too.

"I just feel like you shouldn't have been so harsh about it. You could have said what you wanted to, without saying it directly."

It was his gentle voice this time, the softest of tones he usually used on Haya after realising that arguing with her would not lead to anything.

Haya was the kind of person who would actually listen and try to understand if she was talked to with respect and love. She would never listen to a single word if it was said with authority or intimidation, that much he had already learned.

"Haya, whatever you say..you know it impacts me, our country, everyone directly. You need to choose your words carefully."

He further added, seeing her tight lipped expression as she only listened to him.

"I know that most of the men of my country have big egos and they can't stand a woman moving forward or being on their level. This isn't because they're programmed wrong or something, it's because they were raised that way."

He knew she didn't understand the mentality of his country's people properly at times. She called them misogynists. Maybe they even were, but they were that way without even realising it.

"I was raised the same way, by my mother, by a woman. She believed in gender roles. You can't hurt the ego of an entire nation by being so blunt when there's every man raised that way here."

He pointed out, looking at her.

"I told you that this will take time, right? Do you even realize how many mouths are running against me right now because I listened to you and sent the football team?"

He asked her next, she took a deep breath.

"You can't please everyone, Amir." She responded, he hummed.

"I know I can't, but I'm the Crown Prince of this country. I have to please everyone." He argued back, Haya clicked her tongue.

"I won't apologise." She said instead, not willing to satisfy the ego of millions of men.

"But you can clear that you didn't mean it that way." He offered, she shook her head.

"But I did."

She meant it, she had even been extremely nice about it and still their tiny egos were hurt.

"So lie, Haya." Amir shot back with a groan, Haya raised her eyes at him.

Amir had never, not even once suggested her to lie before. Never ever.

"Okay..wow. How freaked are you to say that to me?" She questioned in surprise, standing up.

Amir instantly felt guilty, but swallowed and looked at his wife.

"I just don't want to sit with my father and have him tell me that you don't listen to me and I should have given this marriage a good thought."

Your father's a jerk.

Haya wanted to say, instead, she let out a small pout.

"Do you even defend me then?" She enquired, Amir let out a small laugh.

"Baby, half of my time is spent in defending you." He told her, kissing the pout on her lips.

"I'll put something on social media." She mumbled over his lips.

Amir placed another chaste kiss on the same place.

"Thank you."

@Haya : I understand that the media likes to spice things up but please understand that your twisting of words can hurt the sentiments of alot of people. I have alot of respect for every Maraaishi man and woman out there. I am married to a Maraaishi man. My words were portrayed in the wrong context, I never meant to hurt anyone's feelings.

"Will you go to the Palace today?" She heard him ask as she came back from work, finding him back on time too.

Ever since her miscarriage, he had been trying his best to be home on time whenever he was present in the country. It was just one of those protective instincts that he had developed within him and it also soothed the guilt that was still there within him.

Haya, who still had not visited the palace developed a frown on her face.

"Do I need to?" She questioned, causing him to stare at her in question too.

"You're the one who told my mother you would visit the moment you came back. It's been a whole day since you did." He pointed out.

Ever since the whole story with her brother had rolled out, the entire family had been questioning every single move by Haya. He tried his best to control the situation and balance things out but he could see the blatant dislike for his wife in a place that he called home.

His mother was the only one who remotely tried to understand Haya. She often asked about her only daughter in law and Amir knew she tried her best to defend the woman in front of his second mother.

"Infact, I might visit too. Your family is coming in two days so I need to make sure everything is fine at the Palace."

Amir murmured, causing her to nod. Going to the palace alone now was uncomfortable but with him by her side, there was no reason to be concerned.

He himself had volunteered to go for the very same reason. He didn't want her to be alone and argue with a member of his family because knowing the situation, if someone even remotely mentioned Illyas in front of Haya, she would breathe fire.

He didn't want any more misunderstandings, especially after the argument with Adil.

Adil, who he was still not speaking with. His brother, who had disrespected his wife in front of everyone.

"Okay, I'll get dressed then." He heard Haya say, as she quickly got up.

Amir hummed in delight, throwing her a lazy smile.

"And here I thought I'd get to hear you whining about how much you don't want to visit the Palace and you'd do it later." He shaded, Haya gasped.

"I'm literally the least whiny wife ever. You're just mean these days." She replied, rolling her eyes at him.

Amir copied her act, mocking her in a way and gave out his own response.

"You mean honest?" He questioned, she groaned.

"You give me a reason to spit out curses and then you get mad that I curse." She told him, because ugh, it was so hard to not say a simple fuck you.

"Don't you dare curse." Amir said, pointing a finger at her.

Haya repeated the gesture, pointing a finger at him.

"Why? What will you fucking do?" She cursed out, and in the next moment, her hands were tied behind her back with his hold tightened on them.

"Say you're sorry." He breathed against her ear, Haya shivered at the hot breath.

"No." She whispered, inhaling a deep breath.

"Say it."

"I won't." She bit her lip, even though his hold was getting uncomfortable, it was also making her shiver and tingle in all the right places.

She was sure he could see that through the mirror.

"Haya. I won't let you go unless I hear an apology." Amir told her, waiting for her to say sorry.

Haya let out a small laugh, eyes crinkling as she turned her head to look at him.

"I'm actually quite liking this position. I don't want you to let me go." She told him, eyes playful and dancing with amusement.

"Oh?" His own eyes gleamed in mischief as he heard her response, hold slowly loosening up at the same time.

"I'm kind of turned on now." Haya stated, Amir raised an eyebrow at her expression.

"And I did promise you alot of sex on our messages, right?" She mentioned, Amir nodded.

"You promised yourself that. What kind of a respectful Princess is always turned on?" He shot back as a joke, causing her to whole heartedly laugh.

He loved making her laugh like that. Her eyes would get all small and her teeth would be on display, her cheeks would get all puffed up and her face would shine with utter happiness and excitement.

Amir smiled himself, seeing the happiness on her face.

"You're so pretty when you laugh, you know." He said out loud, causing the laughter to stop all of a sudden.

Haya stared at him, once again feeling lucky that he was a part of her life.

They argued like every normal couple would. He would say something and then she would say something in response and they would fight like there was not any tomorrow. Yet, the love never faded.

Sometimes when she would think that her life had turned monotonous and lacked any thrill, such moments made her understand that stability and the idea that someone loved you so much that they could do anything for you..it was way better and way more exciting than any other feeling.

"And your eyes feel so honest when you're just looking at me. It makes my heart skip a beat."

Amir replied, watching the way she was staring at him.

The whole world looked at him because he was a Prince. The whole world paid attention to what he had to say because of who he was. Maybe Haya also paid attention to him because he was a Prince but he couldn't deny that she was the only love he had felt that mattered like anything.

He understood the concept of God's blessing in form of a marriage every time she would look at him with her beautiful eyes and that gorgeous smile.

It was the way that she was so different but she loved without any indifference. There was a million reasons why she was different from the women of his own country.

But then, she would also sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of his own. She wasn't so different after all.

"It's so unbelievable at times that even when I'm at work and everything is crazy stressful, I think about coming back home to you and that makes the day go by so easily."

He told her, his dimples appearing as he felt helpless when it came to Haya.

"I'm madly in love with you, hayati."

Haya only stared, the sudden expression of love through his words this time and not his actions, it was intense. It was mad.

"Amir, what the fuck?" She whispered out in awe, the Prince only groaned.

"Okay okay, I'm sorry no cursing!" She exclaimed, continuing.

"I don't, I don't know how to even respond to that. You end up saying all the sweet shi-stuff unexpectedly and then I get all surprised-"

Amir let out an entertained chuckle, his dimples appeared again as his eyes crinkled and he stared at her pouty, confused face. He removed his hands from the tight hold that he had kept her in, settling at the waist this time.

Haya, who had been staring at him through the mirror this entire time, turned around to look at him. His hand rested on her waist as he pushed her towards the mirrored wall, her back touching the mirror this time.

Haya placed her arms around his shoulders, pulling him close willingly. She met his lips with her own, placing a soft but longing kiss.

Amir only opened his mouth wider, deepening the kiss and not letting her touch escape. Her fist knotted his white shirt, as she pulled him even closer.

When they broke their kiss, Amir had already attached his lips to her neck and her head moved back, a moan escaping her mouth as his lips found her spot.

He only used one arm to lift her up, holding her with both his arms and quite literally throwing her on the bed with a huge thump.

Haya groaned, but before she could even complain, he was already pressing himself against her.

She let out a content sigh, feeling his touch, his warmth, his love, feeling everything.

His hand had only just reached underneath her shirt when his phone started to ring out loud, causing both of them to groan at the same time.

Amir knew it was important, since this was his personal phone. Haya let out a pout as he reached across the bed, taking the call from the Palace itself.

His hand cupped Haya's jaw as she looked at him, filled with just as much need as he was.

"No, she already wanted to. Haya and I were planning to come anyway. See you then."

In her own haze, Haya had only heard a few words come out of his mouth in arabic as he hung up the phone in a hurry and threw it on the bed, by her side.

She looked at him, frowning.

"Who was that?"

"Do you really care right now?" Amir asked her, seeing her eyes stare at him the same way that he was staring at her.

"Not even a little bit." Haya replied, opening her arms to invite him in.

Amir gladly took the lead, not letting his mother's criticism of Haya ruin their moment.

@HouseOfMaraaish : The house of Maraaish is pleased to welcome his highness Crown Prince Yusuf Najaf of Buredaan, accompanied by his wife her highness Princess Aaliyah. The Buredaani Prince was greeted by His Highness Crown Prince Amir bin Abdullah at the Faras airbase today.

"Hey love birds, this isn't Buredaan."

Even though the sight in front of her was pleasing and her teenage dream come true, she still teased her brother and best friend who were involved in a tiny bit of PDA.

Yusuf and Aaliyah had arrived a day prior to the visit of the family, to everyone's surprise. It was a sudden visit, with the Maraaish's leadership being informed a couple hours prior to the visit only.

Haya had been happy at the surprise, even though it was concerning at the same time.

Yusuf almost never made such abrupt plans. She was worried that there was more to his visit than what he was letting on.

Amir, on the other hand was delighted to see his Buredaani counterpart.

He had been a little worried about the visit and the meeting between both the families. He didn't know how Illyas would react, how his own family would greet him and how the entire meet up would even go like.

Yusuf was the only one who shared the same concerns as him.

"I'm really glad you both chose to arrive early, Yusuf. It gives us some time to make sure everything goes on smoothly."

He said out loud, earning Yusuf's nod in return.

"That's exactly why I am here prior to my father and Illyas' arrival, Amir. I wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be any more drama. We've had more than enough of it."

He replied, gesturing towards Aaliyah who was quieter than usual. She hadn't spoken more than two words to Haya ever since she arrived.

"And this one wanted to see Haya, so there is that."

Haya looked at her awkwardly when Aaliyah only stared at Haya for a moment before staring back at her feet.

"The Palace is ready to welcome you. Everyone is already concerned since you chose to come here first." Amir told the Crown Prince, who let out a slow nod.

He glanced towards his younger sister, then at Aaliyah who swallowed and slowly nodded.

"Actually, Aaliyah and I wanted to talk to Haya. It was something important."

Amir hummed, getting up.

"I'll give you three some privacy then."

Yusuf shook his head and stood too, asking Amir to sit back down.

"No, Amir. Not at all, you should know it as well. You're family."

Slowly, Amir sat back down and Haya still remained silent. She sensed that something was going on and the way Aaliyah kept looking at her, it just made her feel uneasy.

"It's just that Haya has been our biggest supporter and we wanted her to be the first one to know."

Her breath hitched as she heard the first words by her brother, eyes turning to look at Aaliyah who had her hand turned into a fist. She looked stressed beyond her mind.

"Know what?" Haya asked, waiting to listen to more.

Her heart beat fast as both Yusuf and Aaliyah started to talk simultaneously.

"Haya, you're my sister and this is something that I wanted to share with you, it's a very happy time for both Aaliyah and I-"

Yusuf stopped, taking a deep breath.

He felt awful. He felt so fucking awful.

"And uh, I know that it will make you happy as well, you've always been the person who is happy when her loved ones are happy too."

He rambled a bit, Haya was slowly getting the hint but she really didn't want it to be what she thought it was.

"And you should know that we love you and everything will be so perfect in all of our lives, you'll see."

Aaliyah murmured, as if her reassurance would make it all better.

Haya still waited to hear more and Yusuf knew he just had to say it.

"Haya, you're going to be an aunt." He announced, and her heart dropped into a deep pit.

"I'm pregnant, Haya." Aaliyah told her, a small scared smile leaving her mouth.

Haya only sat in silence and for a moment, Amir was silent as well. Quickly, he got up and embraced Yusuf with a pleasant smile on his face.

"MashaAllah, that's a wonderful news. Congratulations, Yusuf. I'm extremely happy for you." He patted the man's back but Yusuf was still staring at his sister who hadn't moved.

"Aaliyah, congratulations. A child is a beautiful blessing." Amir congratulated her next, as he snapped Haya out of her thoughts by taking her name too.

"Haya?"

Haya also tried to stand up, legs shaking as she felt like they might give up on her.

"Congratulations." She whispered with a broken heart.

When she got up and hugged her brother tight, he knew that she wasn't okay but he also knew that she was happy for him, that she was just as overwhelmed.

When her glossy eyes met Aaliyah, she didn't let her see her close enough and quickly embraced her as well, taking a deep breath to stop herself from breaking.

"I'm really happy for you, Aaliyah. You'll be a beautiful mother."

She said, continuing when her friend only looked at her with what Haya thought was sympathy.

"And I'll be the best aunt in the world, I promise." She murmured, letting out a chuckle when every thing in her was asking to break itself free.

"And I won't even curse in front of the baby, really."

Both Yusuf and Aaliyah let out a soft chuckle and Haya felt Amir's arm around her shoulder, holding her because he could feel that she wasn't okay.

She couldn't have been.

Haya took a deep breath and turned her head to look at Amir, giving a tight lipped smile with wet eyes.

Amir couldn't ask her if she was okay. Haya couldn't tell him that she really wasn't.
