@RoyalMaraaishUpdates : Crown Prince Amir Bin Abdullah to arrive in Buredaan today. The Prince will attend Crown Prince Yusuf Najaf's wedding ceremony.

She wasn't sure how long it had been that she was unaware of her surroundings. It might have been a few minutes, since she hadn't been able to get much sleep the previous night.

She had slept at five in the morning and then woken back up at nine, since she needed to have breakfast with Amir's family along with her mother. Later on, she had dressed up for her husband's arrival. It was the only part of the day that made her feel excited, happy. Being home at been quite shitty due to the stress otherwise.

And now? Three hours later, she was on her bed with an almost painful throbbing between her legs and the fact that she couldn't even feel them properly.

She was so out of it later on that she didn't even know when she had dozed off in her husband's arms.

Upon his arrival, the Crown Prince was greeted by King Najaf and Prince Illyas. Apparently, Yusuf had caught a fever last night and couldn't wake up. The truth was, he had drank too much and now his head ached a little less than his heart.

Once Amir had arrived inside the Palace, Haya was fondly waiting for him. He had first met up with the Queen, then greeted his own mother who was right there as well. After being done with all of that, Amir had smiled at her with so much love and adoration that she had instantly forgotten everything else.

Now here they were and it seemed like he had missed her too much. Too fucking much.

Honestly, she had too.

"Shouldn't have showered in the morning." Haya groaned out loud and heard him laugh, his chest vibrating as he did so.

"I wasn't exactly expecting this." She added, he hummed because he wasn't expecting it either.

"Same here. I thought you'd be on your period by now." He murmured, glad that it wasn't that time of the month for her.

"You keep tracks of my periods now?"

The Princess asked with a smirk, she found it weirdly hot, if that made any sense.

"I have to. Don't I?"

"For obvious reasons, of course."

She remarked, but Amir suddenly frowned. He remembered the last month when she got her period. She had told him she was in pain and didn't want to go anywhere. It was the thirteenth, since it was the same day he had arrived back home from a visit.

It was twentieth of the next month now, which meant that she was almost a week late.

"Haya, you should have got your period by now. You're okay, right?" He enquired, suddenly concerned and curious.

She rolled her eyes.

"Amir, you talking about my period like this really freaks me out." She murmured, reaching out for her phone because he had caused her to a little curious too.

"Let me check anyway." She frowned, staring at her phone.

Amir could have told her that he remembered the date but he wanted to make sure that he wasn't wrong either.

"Okay so I am a week late. it's fine." Haya said, putting her phone back on the table as she let out an exhausted groan.

"Have you been late before?" She looked at him, exasperated.

"I told you to not freak me out." She said, watching as a slow smile started to appear on his face.

What?

"Okay now you're making me freak out even more."

When he properly grinned, she felt horrified because he was insinuating something else.

"Amir, no." Haya gulped, shaking her head.

For fucks sake!

"You should get checked." He advised, placing a kiss on her shoulder blade. She let out a sound of protest through her throat, hating the happiness that had suddenly started to radiate from him.

"It's the perfect timing, love." He added, watching Haya click her tongue as she leaned a little up and stared at him.

"Trust me, it's not." She denied.

She didn't want to be pregnant. Not right now. Didn't she literally have a conversation with her mother about the very same topic two days ago? She had felt so relieved when her mother had advised her not to have a child in the first year of marriage atleast.

This was so not happening. No.

"You're not ready to be a mother? I know we've not discussed this but I wouldn't mind being a father at this age." Amir frowned, because she had looked absolutely beautiful with those children in Russia.

It had warmed his heart.

"Infact, it has been months since we got married. It's the perfect time, Haya." He further said.

The expression on his wife's face was alarming. He suddenly remembered his conversation with his family. They had all repeatedly told him that Haya wasn't the kind of woman who would want to be a mother so soon.

"Amir, fuck." She cursed, because she didn't know what else to do.

"Haya."

She wasn't really concerned about her language right now. He was all ready to be a father and she hadn't even thought about this. What the fuck?

"There is alot going on in my head right now. I can not even think about being pregnant." She murmured, the Crown Prince caressed her cheek.

"Just get yourself checked and we can take it from there." He advised, but she shook her head.

The last thing she wanted to do was get herself checked in Buredaan and then land into more complicated shit. She wanted to deal with this later. Not now.

"When we go back to Maraaish, we can think about all this. I don't want anything to happen right now."

She also didn't want to argue right now.

"But we need to talk about a child, Haya. You know how important it is for people like us to have children."

Haya rolled off the bed, dragging herself to get up.

"Let's talk once I take a shower." She announced, because she didn't want to deal with the talk. She just wanted to relax.

"I have alot to do today." The Prince replied, telling her that he didn't have any time after this.

He stood up as well, pulling up his boxers while his wife stood there naked.

"Khalifah is coming in an hour, I have to be at the embassy for lunch and I need to visit the orphanage you opened in my name. I have a busy schedule." He told her, she hummed.

"You never told me you had plans for that?"

"I do, yeah. You'll accompany me?"

He reckoned that being with children might change her mind a little and cause her to not feel so horrified.

"Yes, I will. I haven't really visited either." She affirmed, ready to shower and relax for a few more minutes.

She had only taken a step or two when her husband's hand grabbed her wrist and he turned her around.

"Haya, wait."

She gazed at him questioningly.

"If you're pregnant, we will be in this together. You are responsible enough to be a mother, I know you."

He still wanted to put her at ease and convince her that a child was a blessing and they'd be lucky if she was pregnant.

"Amir."

She didn't even want to get into this topic for now.

"Just hear me out, okay?

"It doesn't matter if you've achieved what you wanted to or not. A child can't hinder the progress you've made, baby. It will only turn you into a better person."

She didn't know that.

She knew being a mother was a job in itself, even when they were as privileged as them.

"A child will bond us in a way that nothing can't. It's God's blessing if it's there. We can't deny it."

He looked pleased, happy. Why couldn't she feel that way? She didn't even feel pregnant.

"It sounds like you're ready to be a father, Amir." Haya murmured, hopeless.

"I don't think I'm ready to be a mother. I love you, I do want to have your children but I'm not sure if this is the right time." She told him, continuing when he didn't say a word.

"And I don't even want to think of anything but my family right now. There's alot going on and I just need to figure it out." She further said, Amir frowned.

It was a happy time for their family. Why didn't she seem excited then? He didn't think she was petty enough to not be happy for her brother, merely because he didn't like Sara alot.

"I don't understand." Amir breathed out, confused.

She put her hand on his naked chest.

"I want to tell you but it's a freaking long story and I really need to jump in the shower." She replied, he hummed in understanding.

"I'll jump in with you." He said, she gazed at him in surprise.

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

"There's not going to be another round. I need to walk." She warned, Amir only showed her his dimples.

"We'll see."

"For fucks sake." She cursed.

"Stop cursing. You might have my child in you." Amir reminded, she put her head on his chest and let out a whine.

"God, help me."

She only heard him laugh at her miserable voice.

"Better."

For once, the Crown Prince was in a casual attire in front of her family. It was refreshing. In fact, he looked much more at ease than before. It made Haya happy.

"Amir, we thought you'd rest a little more." Her mother was the one who who passed the comment, since she had not expected the Crown Prince to leave his room so soon after arrival.

She reckoned that her daughter had something to do with it. But her sleepy eyes portrayed a different story.

"Honestly, I wanted to. The weather is beautiful here." Amir replied with a smile, continuing when the Queen hummed.

"But I have to meet my friend Khalifah. He was placed the ambassador here."

"Alright."

"And how have you been? I know you've been very busy but how's your health?"

"I'm fine. As long as my children are exhausting me but they're happy, I'm well."

The conversation went on for a little long, only stopping when Crown Prince Yusuf entered the hall. He looked much better than he did last night. While his head still felt heavy, most of the trace of the alcohol he had last night was gone.

"Assalam alaykum, Amir. Welcome."

Amir stood up, embracing the man as well.

"I apologise, I couldn't be there this morning." Haya heard her brother apologise. She stated up at both the men as they made small talk.

"Not at all, Yusuf. I completely understand. How are you?"

"I'm well, thank you. Sit, please." Amir sat back down by his wife's side and Yusuf took his place on the nearby sofa.

"What are your plans for the day?"

"Well, Khalifah is arriving for now. I'll be with him for a while and then we'll go to the embassy. I have plans for lunch there and then Haya and I will go to the orphanage." Amir responded to his Buredaani counter part, earning an eager nod from the man.

"Sounds like your day is packed. I'm sure there will be time for dinner, right?"

Amir let out a slow nod.

"Yes, inshallah."

"Alright. I'm sure we can all catch up on the dinner table. You can call Khalifah as well."

He did not want to ignore a man of Amir's significance, due to the issues going on in his life. He didn't want to be that person. And he simply did not want the prince to get offended due to lack of attention. Personally and professionally, it would be harmful.

"Haya, we have the women's function in the evening. Will you be back by then?" Haya heard her mother ask, and she nodded.

"I think so. Don't worry, mom. It's not like it's the damn wedding." She had murmured the last part very softly but it was still audible enough.

Amir threw a glance at her and shook his head.

"Haya."

Sometimes, he just didn't appreciate the way she talked to her mother. Nevertheless, Amir stood up.

"I have to go, I'll see you in the evening?" He said to his wife, who hummed in return.

Amir smiled, murmuring a goodbye as it was time to leave. Yusuf made sure to see him off, walking outside along with the Prince who had to leave for the embassy.

When he returned, Illyas was already there. Haya sat by her brother's side, whispering something in his ear as the Queen took notice.

When Yusuf entered the hall, he immediately went and sat by his siblings. Shahid was the only one missing. Infact, Shahid didn't even know the whole story yet.

Haya was just telling Yusuf that Aaliyah hadn't really called yet, when their attention turned to their mother who had called them out.

"What exactly is going on? Is everything okay?"

"What do you mean?"

"I have been seeing the way you three keep on looking at one another. If there is any problem, I need to know."

The Queen insisted, being unabashedly confused by the behavior of her own kids.

"It's nothing." Haya shrugged her off.

"Yes, mother. It's fine." Illyas insisted.

She turned to look at Yusuf.

"Yusuf, you wouldn't lie to me. Would you?" She asked, but her son only smiled and shook his head at her.

"He shares the same blood as us. He's well reversed in lying." Haya remarked with a dry chuckle, since Yusuf had been lying all this time.

He was lying and faking that he was okay, when in reality he was anything but that.

"So you are all lying then." She mentioned, voice turning serious as she couldn't understand what her children were being so secretive about.

"Mom, there's nothing." Yusuf tried but the woman stood up with a shake of her head.

"Yes, there is! Haya has been insistent that something is wrong. I asked you twice but you said everything was fine but here you are, with sadness in your eyes. She was right, wasn't she?"

When her son didn't reply, because he didn't know what to even say at this point, the Queen let out a sigh and walked close to her son.

"Yusuf, if something's not right..you have to tell me." She insisted one more time, squeezing his arm.

"Everything's fine." Yusuf murmured, all over again.

She looked at her daughter, the one who kept saying from the start that Yusuf wasn't happy and something was wrong.

She definitely knew something.

"Haya, tell me." She insisted, but Haya was a little zoned out herself.

A part of her wanted to tell the truth to her mother but another part of her wanted to remain silent, atleast until Aaliyah's response.

"Haya!" Her mother said, voice loud as she snapped Haya out of her own thoughts.

She didn't know how to divert her mother's attention so she only said what came into her head for now.

"I might be pregnant." She blurted out, everyone's eyes turning towards her within a second.

"What?" Yusuf had been with his baby sister until last night it and she hadn't mentioned anything.

"What?!" Illyas had literally placed a drink in front of her and asked her to have a sip but she had refused.

Was it because she knew she was pregnant but she didn't want her family to know?

"Okay, so there is a chance that I might be pregnant and I'm freaked out so can you please stop pressurizing me right now?" Haya elaborated, everyone's shocked gaze made her almost uncomfortable.

"What the fuck is going on in this house?!" Illyas cursed out loud because God, what drama.

"You're pregnant?" Her mother asked, voice low as she held her daughter's hand and asked her to continue.

Haya let out a sigh and sat down, the Queen taking place by her side.

"I don't think I am. Amir thinks that I am and he's like all ready to be a father but I don't even know what to do with kids. So what the fuck?"

Her head spinned every time she thought of the fact that she might be pregnant.

"Calm down. What happened?"

"My period's a week late." Haya stated, Illyas clicked his tongue. He did not need to hear this conversation.

"Gross." He said, she glared at him.

"Shut it."

"That doesn't mean you're pregnant, love. This isn't the first time it's late, yeah?" Her mother reminded her, Haya shrugged.

"Yes but they are mostly regular."

"Okay, whatever happens you'll figure it all out eventually. Yeah? There's nothing to be concerned about." She tried to console her daughter.

A child wasn't anything bad. If it was happening sooner than she wanted for her daughter, there was no harm in it.

"One step at a time, Haya." She reminded, Haya swallowed and let out a nod.

"Let's focus on getting your brother married first and then we can get you properly checked up. If you are expecting, it's God's blessing." She explained, Haya gave her a look.

"You're the one who said to wait for atleast a year." Haya reminded with a blank face.

"I'm no one compared to God's wishes, Haya." She replied, patting her thigh as she knew the idea was quite foreign to her daughter and it would take some time for her to figure it all out.

"Now, back to Yusuf. What's going on?"

So even her distraction hadn't worked. Great.

What could they even tell her?

You know Sara? The woman you're so excited to make a part of your family? Well, she's pregnant. Oh and it's not your son's child. It's Yaman's. You remember Yaman, right? My childhood friend? It's his child. Funny, no?

"We can't tell you right now. Can we wait till the evening? We'll talk then." She decided, for everyone.

She was sure they would figure things out by then. Hopefully.

"Are you serious? You're scaring me, Haya."

Haya let out a sigh, looking at her brothers for help. They simply shrugged. Yusuf wasn't really a liar so he was already feeling guilty for faking that he was okay. Illyas was a natural liar but he didn't want to lie to the woman who gave birth to him.

"Why don't you go and visit my mother in law? Please. I really don't have the right mood to go there." Haya suggested instead, because she didn't want to drag the conversation any longer.

"But-"

"Mom, please." She pleaded, finding her mother click her tongue as she stood up.

She looked so worried, Haya literally wanted to hug her.

"I'll come with you." Illyas announced, standing up as well.

Haya groaned out loud.

"Why, Illyas? Do you have someone you'd like to see?" It wasn't Haya's question, but his mother's.

She shot her son a knowing glance.

"What? No." He lied.

The Queen shook her head again.

"All my children are liars. Clearly I didn't bring you all up too well." She taunted, sounding just like Haya.

Or maybe Haya sounded just like her?

"This is exactly why I like Dad the most out of all of you."

Haya murmured, putting her head on her brother's shoulder. He was stressed, she was stressed. It was a nice relief.

"I didn't think you'd have any plans for us, babe." She said as he held their hand and made her enter the unknown place.

"I didn't, honestly." The Crown Prince admitted.

"Ouch."

"I mean, I knew you were busy with your family so I didn't want to distract you. But since the orphanage visit got cancelled, I decided to use that time for ourselves."

There was a function at around eight, which meant that they only had three hours to themselves. While the could not visit the orphanage, Amir felt like this was the perfect opportunity to spend some time with Haya. He didn't want her to feel constricted or stressed out. He knew that the idea of being pregnant was stressful for her and he didn't know what was going on but he could guess that, there were some underlined family issues which word bothering Haya.

After an elaborate talk with his friend, he had mentioned the need to visit a normal, cozy place here with his wife. The one which had good food, no people and definitely no cameras.

"I'm glad," Haya looked around the small garden, it was uneven and decorated with fairy lights but there was something charming and nostalgic about it.

A small restaurant, which actually resembled a hotel was at a distance of a few steps. There was no one inside, except for one man who was supposed to cook food for them. A table was set up outside in the garden, security was at a distance. They had privacy, no one would be able to disturb them for a while. It felt lovely already.

"Although, this is my country and I don't even know where we are." Haya murmured, because she hadn't recognized the area either.

Even on the way, she found out that there were less to no buildings. This place was in the middle of nowhere.

"I asked Khalifah to find a place that resembled the restaurant I took you to when you came to Maraaish for the first time. I wanted to recreate that, really. It feels like time has flown by."

And then it hit her, she understood why it all felt so nostalgic. It was her first date with Amir and he had taken her to that food street where the food tasted divine and the people didn't bother him, even though he was the Crown Prince.

And he was right.

It really felt like so much time had gone by. It had been almost a year since then.

"Yeah, I expected you to take me to all the fancy places and you brought me to a cosy restaurant, that I don't think even identified as a restaurant." Haya fondly replied, smiling at him.

"It doesn't. It's a part of the food street."

"However, Buredaan is different and I couldn't have taken you out on a street for food." He reminded, making her nod.

"The media would have been here in two minutes and we would've been surrounded by people. I'm really loved here, you know."

She teased, but it was true. She was in high heels, looking around as she observed the area.

She was pregnant, sort of. Was she allowed to be in heels?

Her heel twisted a little bit and she was about to stumble but Amir held her by the waist, stilling her.

"You're loved everywhere, baby." He whispered, eyes brightening at her as she put her arms around his neck.

Amir placed a kiss on her forehead and she took a deep breath, looking up at him.

"You have no idea how much I needed a distraction." She muttered, earning a nod from him.

"Yeah, I kind of figured that out. Although, I don't understand why you were so angry about Aaliyah not picking up your calls." He remarked, since all Haya had done on the way here was call and send messages to Aaliyah, cursing at her to just text or call back.

"You have no idea about the shit that has been going on." Haya admitted, the Crown Prince shook his head.

"First, language." He reminded.

"And second, what happened?"

"I am confused. It's not really my secret to tell but you're my husband and my family so you should know everything." She was confused actually.

She wanted to say it, more than anything. She wanted to tell him the truth but she also didn't know how to make him understand. This was too crazy for someone like him.

"If it's something private within your family, you don't have to tell me. I understand." Amir assured her, she shrugged.

"I should tell you. I'm going crazy honestly."

"It's your choice."

He found Haya deep in thought, a frown replacing the smile on her face. His hands left her waist and he held he gestured her to walk towards the table.

"Why don't we eat something first and then once you're relaxed enough, you can tell me whatever it is that's bothering you." He suggested, pulling a chair for her as she sat and nodded.

"Yeah, okay."

The man who was cooking food for them was quite old, with a wrinkled smile and polite gestures. He only greeted them with a traditional Buredaani greeting, put two plates in front of them along with two glasses.

Then, he left the Royal couple alone.

When Amir took the first bite of the meat balls covered in cheese and vegetables on one side of the plate, he realised that the food was much more tasty than he had expected.

He looked at his wife, who was eating with joy too. The couple ate a few bites in silence, then once Amir was done swallowing his food..he started to talk.

"I don't think that there is anything better than the food in Maraaish but there's just something about this meat, It tastes divine."

He gushed about the food. Haya was glad to inform him of what he was actually eating.

"It's fish meat, that's why. Basically, the meat balls you're eating are made of fish that's stored and enriched in spices for quite a few days. This is why they taste so different." She told him, continuing when she found her husband eating more.

"I never took much interest in our food. I was more of a continental food person but then one day, Dad got this arrangement made in the garden. All there was were these food stalls, with all kinds of traditional food." She elaborated, remembering the day with fondness.

"It was his way to make me appreciate the food that we had to offer in our country." Amir nodded, picking up a piece of the meat ball with a fork as he put it bear her mouth.

Haya ate a bit, even though she was quite full already. She couldn't finish it. They had a dinner in a few hours anyway.

"Have you tried the mango lemon drink they make here? It's the best." She asked, because Buredaan specialised in making mixed drinks like that.

"Yes, I know. I prefer when they add mint in it though." Amir replied, Haya let out a chuckle.

She remembered when Yaman and her used to mix up the traditional drinks with some alcohol and make cocktails out of them.

"Yaman and I used to put vodka in it, made the experience a whole lot different."

It was only after the words had left her mouth that she realised who she was talking about. Amir noticed the sudden shift in her behaviour.

"What's with the bitter face? Is it because you have decided to quit alcohol?" She shook her head, leaning back from the table as she watched Amir eat.

He never left his plate with food. He always tried to finish it, no matter what. He wasn't too fond of wasting food.

"No. It's because I've decided to quit Yaman." Haya replied, flatly.

"Your friend, Yaman?"

"Yes. Who else."

While the Crown Prince was not very fond of the idea that his wife had male friends, he had come to terms with it anyway. She talked the most about Aaliyah and Yaman. They were her childhood friends, she treated them like family.

"You had a fight?"

"I wish. He is an asshole, that's why." Haya answered, the Prince made a sound of protest in his throat.

"Haya."

Of course. The cursing. Right.

"Fine! He's a backstabbing piece of shit. How's that?"

She had cursed in anger once again. Amir put a hand on his face and stared at her, unknown of what to say to that.

"Uh,"

"Oh right, I was actually going to say crap but my mind is just too angry to differentiate right now."

She told him, as they felt a knock on the door as a way to inform that he was coming and the old man appeared once again.

"The food was incredible, thank you." Amir thanked him in his own language, the man only nodded.

Haya could only manage a smile as he walked back into the small restaurant, leaving them be.

"Okay, what is it?" He couldn't stand the tense Haya that had appeared again.

"It's a long story."

"We have time." He looked at his watch.

It was six in the evening. They would leave in half an hour.

The Princess let out a sigh and nodded, narrating the entire tale.

She told him about the the change in her brother's behaviour when she first arrived home. She told him that she had tried to tell everyone that he wasn't okay but no one really believed her because of her personal issues with Sara. She told him that her brother had constantly denied that something was actually wrong. She told him about catching Yaman at the family dinner, looking absolutely horrified. She told him how she had cornered Sara and found out the reality.

She told him how her brother was willing to sacrifice himself and how they had come up with another plan. Sort of.

After quite an exhausting few minutes of listening to her story, he remained silent for a while trying to absorb everything.

"I can't imagine what he must be going through." He finally said, Haya nodded.

"Shocking, isn't it?"

"Extremely. Although, it's not uncommon these days."

Infedility was not uncommon. Adultery was not uncommon. Lack of morals and sins that were coated as mistakes were not uncommon.

"Just because I haven't done any of these things, it doesn't mean that I haven't seen them happen to good people. This is life."

Amir told his wife, shaking his head as he felt disappointed for the man himself. Yusuf was the most grounded out all of the siblings. He was kind and humble, responsible and respectful.

"Your brother is a good man. He didn't deserve to be lied to and betrayed. No man does."

Haya heard him say and the words stuck to her.

No man deserved to be lied to.

What of your lie, Haya? Her conscious reminded her.

"You are right. Lies only ruin relationships." She swallowed as she said that and her husband hummed.

"Now you understand why I wanted you to be completely honest with me when we got married, even if the truth was different and bitter."

Yes. She understood.

And she knew that telling him the truth was the right thing but she had sort of lied about Hunain and he was going to be present at the wedding.

What if?

No. No one knew.

But still.

A lie is a lie.

"Yes, I know."

"Aaliyah hasn't answered yet, has she?" Amir asked, Haya's idea was absolutely foreign to him.

Don't stop the wedding but change the bride. What?

"Not yet. She texted just now, she said she'll be at the Palace in an hour." Haya answered, making him nod.

"It's overwhelming for your cousin too. She's been considered like a safe option, a second option. She must be very conflicted right now."

Haya frowned at his words. What did he mean by that? A safe option?

"I don't understand?" She asked him to elaborate and the Prince stood up, asking her to come and take a walk.

"Haya, you said she used to like Yusuf but he didn't like her back. Now that his fiance has betrayed him, you're asking your brother to marry Aaliyah. You have to understand that the girl must be in a dilemma. She must think that she wasn't good enough in his eyes first and now suddenly she is."

He explained, and instead of walking..Haya stopped and stared at him.

"Yusuf wasn't the one who gave the idea." She stated, because she hadn't even thought of all of this like that.

Aaliyah needed to know that she wasn't a safe option. The circumstances were just fucked up.

"But he didn't object either." Amir reminded her.

In his opinion, no sane man would reject Aaliyah. She was a Royal. She was a beautiful woman, or atleast that's what his friend Khalifah had said about her.

He didn't even remember how the conversation about Aaliyah had started, but it had.

When Amir jokingly asked if he was thinking of taking a second wife again, Khalifah had laughed too.

She's your wife's cousin. All about freedom and unicorns and rainbows. You think I can handle someone like that?

Amir had told him that Haya wasn't unicorns and rainbows. She was a realist. Aaliyah and Haya might have the same opinions but their perception of life was different.

Then Khalifah had laughed and called him a love struck idiot.

Aaliyah is a beautiful woman, too beautiful. She's gentle too. But my heart belongs to another and it wouldn't be fair.

Amir didn't understand how the jokes had suddenly changed into him looking glum and serious. Khalifah had told him not to push the topic any further so he hadn't. Instead, they started to talk about political things and that was it.

"What's your opinion?"

He felt his wife ask, Amir let out a soft exhale.

"I think that she would make a good wife for him and they would be fine together but I don't think this is the way to stop him from marrying Sara."

He gave his honest opinion and Haya listened attentively.

"I know that he is under a lot of pressure right now and all he has in his head are the people that are going to be at the wedding or the people that are already present for his wearing-" He continued as they started to walk together, slowly.

"He doesn't want to embarrass himself or be the talk of people at such a grand stage but everyone knows who Sara is. There is still going to be a lot of talk about why the bride was suddenly changed."

Amir reminded Haya, looking at her as he kept talking.

"I think you should tell your parents and let them handle this. He might be a Crown Prince but he is also a son. A son always needs his father to guide him."

This was the reason why Amir wanted his father around for a very long time. Experience and wisdom were just as important as intellect and education.

"The wedding is literally in three days. Everyone's under alot of pressure. Yusuf doesn't want Dad to go through the same." Haya answered, continuing.

"We just think that if we could give them a plan and tell them after fixing everything, they might not feel the way that he is feeling right now."

She told him but Amir had got her thinking too. Were they being too forward about the entire thing?

"I understand that but they will know either way." Her husband replied.

"Your father is one of the most wise men that I've ever met. I think he can handle this way better than you all."

He suggested, Haya hummed.

"Good advice." She muttered.

"I hope you'll take it. My mouth remains sealed." Haya shook her head and pecked his cheek with a smile.

"You're family, Amir. It's fine if they know that I told you."

She told him, feeling her phone vibrate yet again. She had switched her notifications on and now her phone was blowing up.

"Your phone keeps buzzing."

Amir noticed, she hummed.

Aaliyah.
Reaching the Palace in a few minutes. Are you home yet?

She responded to her cousin.

With Amir, will be back in a few minutes too.

Aaliyah
Should I come to your place or?

Amir was supposed to visit his mother and then go for dinner with her father, Yusuf and a whole lot of other males. He was going to meet their entire family tonight, after the wedding.

Haya replied Aaliyah with a yes, putting the phone back in her pocket.

It buzzed again.

Illyas.
Talked to our cousin yet?

She quickly told him that she was going to have a talk with her in a while. As she ignored the other messages and looked back at her husband, her phone vibrated another time.

This time, it was another Prince.

Hunain.
Mother and father will reach on the wedding day. I'll be there tomorrow.

The King and Queen of Jordan, he meant. Yusuf was right after all. How could they tell such important people that there was no wedding at all?

When she looked up, she found Amir already staring at her. Clearly, he had noticed her typing again and again.

"It's Hunain. He is coming tomorrow. I don't know what to even tell him. I can't say don't come."

She informed, groaning out loud.

"I wish Sara would have just told him when it happened. It happened a month ago, if she'd just been honest-"

She trailed off.

And then the honesty part made her feel guilty. Hunain's message made her feel even more complicated. Maybe it was a signal that she needed to tell Amir the truth.

"It's hard to be honest if the truth can possibly hurt your relationship. But you have to take the risk and do it anyway."

Amir told her, Haya swallowed.

"I realised that too. The truth does come out one way or the other." She murmured.

She had to tell him, no? She needed to.

If it came out from any other source, at any other time..it would hurt her relationship and ruin his trust. She could simply say sorry right now, she could try to convince him that she lied but also realised her mistake. He would understand. Amir always did.

"You need to know something." Haya suddenly said, standing still as she mustered up the courage to just straight away tell him.

"I wasn't completely honest about my relationship with Hunain. I told you that it wasn't an affair and it wasn't."

She clarified, seeing the expression change on his face within a moment.

"But it wasn't friendship either." She murmured, he furrowed his eyebrows and crossed his arms.

The Prince took a step back and looked at his wife.

"What do you mean?" He enquired, voice hardened and not soft, not the way it used to be.

"I lied when I said nothing happened."

Her voice shook but she held onto it anyway. She had to say it, had to tell him.

"Haya." He sounded angry, disappointed.

"Basically, he was my friend but he was more than that. We had this Friends with benefits kind of thing going on. We went on dates with other people but when we were together, we had a good time."

She couldn't very well say that he was good at sex and she was good at it too so they used to do it, together.

Damn. Why did she even feel guilty for the good times she had with other people? It was annoying at times.

"When I told you everything about me before we got married, it really was not in my mind to tell you this. I swear I totally blanked out." She rambled on and on, watching as he only listened and didn't say anything.

"And when the pictures leaked, I was panicked and I didn't want to tell you cause I was also a little embarassed. I did what I felt right at the time."

"The truth is, I knew that you wouldn't be comfortable with my friendship with Hunain if you knew the entire truth. You were already so angry with me when I told you that I wanted to visit Jordan."

She kept talking and he stared at her. He had asked and she had lied straight to his face. They had a huge argument because he had called her a liar and she was a liar after all.

"I know that I made a mistake, okay. But you had never done anything before marriage and I had practically done everything. I didn't know how much of me you could take."

And she genuinely believed that.

For someone who had been completely in control and with a different view on life, she felt like he wouldn't be able to take it all. She had slept around like nobody's business. She made choices and she felt okay with all those choices. Still, it was all making her feel guilty right noow.

"And I also didn't want to lose Hunain as a friend. He's genuine and kind and a good friend."

And he was.

She wanted to have an incredible relationship with her husband and she also didn't want to sacrifice her friendships with other men. There was a vast difference between love and friendship. She wanted both. Was it really so difficult?

When he didn't say anything and only stared, Haya felt a little panicked.

"Amir." She took his name, a little intimidated to touch his arm and be near him.

"You can say something now." She murmured, taking a step slowly but Amir had moved yet again.

"It's time to go." He said, voice low but firm.

Okay, so he was angry. Understandable.

"Amir." Haya tried, continuing.

"Listen, please."

"I'm sorry, okay? You know I don't apologise so easily but I really am sorry. I didn't mean to hide it." She apologized, he only frowned.

"Yet you hid it." He scoffed, shaking his head as he only felt anger at her for now.

It didn't matter that she told him now. Why did she even feel the need to lie before?

"Baby, please. I love you."

Before he could even do something, her arms had already wrapped around his waist and she had her lips near his neck, as she whispered sorry again and again.

Amir clicked his tongue. Haya never said sorry, not until she meant it and he knew that she meant it right now.

But, she lied!

"I might be carrying your child. Forget it, for the baby's sake." She tried when she felt his silence.

The Prince didn't hold her back and she was honestly getting freaked out because of that.

"Don't use that as an excuse to get away from a lie that you told." He stated, Haya looked at him.

"I'm stressed, okay. I don't want you to be angry with me right now."

"I don't want to be angry either, Haya." He stated.

The last thing he wanted or liked was getting angry at people.

"But you lied. I don't appreciate liars."

"And I apologized for that. You're so religious, don't you know the value of forgiveness?" She used the religion card on him..

Amir glanced at her with a disappointed face.

"The baby. The religion. What's next?"

Haya smiled, a little cheekily.

"Me." She pointed towards herself.

"I love you." She kissed his mouth, he let out a sigh.

"I really fucking love you." She said, cursing this time as she pecked his lips.

"Amir," She murmured, pouting right in front of him, just so he would kiss her back.

"Forgive me."

Reluctantly, he planted a kiss on her lips.

Honestly, she looked too beautiful for him to stay mad at her. Forgiveness was important, he wanted to be the bigger person for now. Especially since she was already stressed enough.

"I'll forgive you if you promise not to curse for atleast a week." He stated, hoping to get something good out of the entire situation.

"In such a situation? I can't promise that!" She exclaimed, he hummed and moved away.

"Fine, let's go."

She held his arm, nodding.

"Okay, okay. How about one whole day. I swear I won't curse."

"One day? Really?" He cocked an eyebrow.

"Please." And then everyone thought that he had a hold on her like no one else. It felt like quite the opposite.

"Okay. Even one day will be hard for someone like you." He affirmed, Haya frowned.

"Someone like me?" She repeated.

He hummed, kissing the side of her mouth this time.

"Yes. Someone with a dirty mouth." He whispered, she rolled her eyes.

"Ugh." She muttered.

"Yes, ugh." He mocked, and Haya just laughed.

"Sara's already downstairs. Everyone's waiting for the function to start and here we are, not even able to speak a fuc-freaking word."

Haya said out loud, not being able to take the silence any longer. Aaliyah had been here for quite some time and even after some coffee and idle chit chat, they hadn't really spoken about anything.

Aaliyah looked hesitant, which made Haya think that she wasn't even going to say yes.

It would suck, but they would simply find a better alternative. She had to go to her brothers after this anyway. They needed to tell their father.

"Aaliyah, even if you say no..it's okay. It won't change a single thing. You know that." She tried to assure her, they didn't have any time right now.

She needed to say yes or no and get it over with.

"I know, Haya."

"Then why have you been avoiding me? Idiot." She rolled her eyes, waiting for Aaliyah to speak up.

"Haya, okay."

Her cousin let out a sigh. She looked quite stressed out as well. She was obvious conflicted.

"I needed some time to think and evaluate certain things. I had to talk to some people and make sure that I had some sort of closure."

Aaliyah replied. Haya let out a nod. She didn't have anyone in her life. The interaction she had with Khalifah in front of Haya, it was intense. It made sense that she was talking about him.

"By people you mean Khalifah?" Haya questioned, looking for clarity.

"Yes."

"When are you going to tell me what's going on between you and him?"

Aaliyah shook her head.

"There is nothing going on. I thought that something could have happened but he made sure to tell me that there can't be anyone else in his life."

What was she even thinking? The man was married, for God's sake.

"He's married, Aaliyah." Haya reminded, she gave her a look in return.

"You really going to judge me?"

"No, not at all." Haya chuckled, coming to the point.

"So? Are you willing to marry my brother?" Aaliyah gulped, still thinking that all of it was so fucked up.

"It sounds crazy no matter how you say it." She replied, continuing when Haya stared at her with an exasperated look.

"But I guess, yeah? I mean I don't know. If, sure. Yes."

She rambled, but it seemed like she had made the decision. She was ready to marry the man she had crushed on for so long. She was ready to save the Prince.

"Okay."

Haya had no time to even hug Aaliyah or say anything else. There was no time.

"I need to tell Yusuf. That Sara needs to fu-buzz off now."

This no cursing deal was quite annoying.

She picked up her phone and sent a text.

Everything's fine with Aaliyah. Where are you?

Her brother's reply came within an instant.

I'm with mom and Dad. Told them everything.

Amir had said she wasn't allowed to curse but she could type it. It wasn't technically breaking a promise.

Fuck.
