59.
Haya x Amir.
"Assalam alaykum, Princess. Welcome back." She got greeted the moment she entered the house.
Haya stared at ...., the woman who had practically raised Amir in his childhood and gave a small smile, not meaning to be rude to the woman.
"Where's Amir?" She enquired after the smile, giving another one of the house worker her hand bag as she came to take it.
"The Prince came back just now. He went straight to the room." She informed, pointing towards upstairs.
Haya nodded. She had not been able to talk to Amir since she knew he had meetings and would only be free once he sat on the plane back home. Even then, he had only managed to text that he had reached Maraaish.
"Did his guest arrive with him?" Haya asked, because she didn't know whether Amir had simply brought his guest home or was he going to arrive later on.
"Ah Khalifah went to meet his grandmother. He will be back in a while."
The way the woman pronounced his name which such casualness and comfort, Haya could understand what Amir meant when he told Haya that Khalifah was his childhood friend. They had grown up together.
"You talk about him like you know him well?"
"Oh ofcourse I do. I practically raised the boy along with the Prince." Haya nodded, clicking her heels against the floor as she started to walk towards the elevator.
"Should I bring something for you?" She shook her head, stopping at the entrance as she turned to the woman for a minute.
"No, thank you. My cousin Aaliyah arrived with me as well. She's in the guest house. Make sure she has everything she needs."
"I'll go and see everything for myself. Do not worry."
"Thank you, it's good to be home."
Haya entered the elevator, practically dying to see her man.
She entered her bedroom, her heels clicking across the marble floor still as she looked around, finding no trace of her man.
She entered the dressing room, seeing a few clothes laid out in front of his closet but she couldn't find him anywhere.
"Amir?" She called out his name, bit hearing any response.
He quietly made his way over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, finding her yelp out loud as she didn't expect him to sneak up on her like that.
"Got you." He whispered against her ear, his breathy voice causing her to relax under his touch.
"It's impolite to sneak up on a woman." Haya said, easing up in his arms and leaning her back against his chest.
"Even if the woman is your wife?" Amir asked, lips grazing her ear as she hummed.
"Yes, even then."
"I'm sorry if I startled you then." Amir responded in an instant, she only laughed at that and moved her head up to place a kiss on his cheek, her other hand felt his slightly thick beard on his left cheek.
"Salam."
He greeted her properly, still holding onto her waist. She moved her hand from his face, touching his bicep and finally noticing that he was shirtless.
"Hey you're not wearing a shirt." Haya mentioned, hearing a hum from her man who still had her in his arms.
"I was just about to take a shower." He informed, trying to turn her around.
"Turn around, baby. Let me look at your face."
Haya turned around, swallowing as she saw him shirtless with his damn dimples poking out and eyes quite literally gleaming as he stared at her.
"You're beautiful," He placed a soft kiss on her nose and she smiled. "And I missed you."
"I don't even want to say I missed you too. You know I did. I texted you too much this time." Haya complained, finding this flaw within herself.
She had texted Amir way too many times and while her husband had replied whenever he could, it was still a minor inconvenience since his phone would indicate her messages at a time when he would be extremely busy.
"It's okay. I didn't mind." Amir replied, cupping the side of her face.
Haya only gave him a tired smile. It didn't matter how comfortable and luxurious the flight back was, she still felt too tired. And a little bit turned on at the sight of her shirtless husband.
"You look tired. You can take a nap, we have some time before dinner." He suggested, seeing her droopy eyelids despite the long lashes.
"I had planned to take a nap but you're shirtless and it's turning me on." She said out loud, Amir only shook his head at her.
She was so much more open when it came to talking about sex. Amir was more of a talk less, do more kind of man. Whenever he felt the need to be intimate with her, he would just turn her over and kiss her sensually, leaving her to understand where he wanted to go with it. Haya wasn't really like that.
"Astaghfirullah, Haya." He pronounced, his wife giggled at the grumble in his voice.
"Haven't heard you say that in a while." She commented, the Crown Prince raised an eye.
"You have been behaving pretty decent lately." He acknowledged, Haya shook her head.
"Or maybe you're just used to my dirty mouth now."
Amir leaned down and placed a kiss on her lips.
"I could never get used to your dirty mouth." He whispered over her lips, deepening the kiss again as he used his tongue this time.
After a moment, Haya pulled back and stared at him, impressed.
"Weren't you the one who suggested that I take a nap?" She reminded him as he looked at her in a sudden daze.
Amir cleared his throat and simply nodded, putting his hands on her chest as he started to unbutton her shirt.
Haya only stared in curiosity, not protesting at all. Once he had taken off her silk shirt, his hands worked around the zipper on her leather skirt. He pulled it down, loosening the skirt enough to take it off.
"Hop out." He muttered as the skirt fell on her feet.
Haya simply moved and threw away her heels, standing on the fur carpet this time.
She was barely in her bra and underwear, gazing at her man who was trying to find something in a closet that she kept in his dressing room.
"Here." He finally handed over a shirt and sweatpants, that kind of looked more like pajamas.
She cringed at the sight, finding it odd that she even had those in the first place. She wasn't into pajamas.
"I don't wear pajamas." She protested.
"Then why are they in this closet?" She just shrugged, as if she didn't know the answer herself.
"Just wear something comfortable and go to bed. I'll shower and join you."
Amir told her, and she honestly found it too sweet that he was trying to get her all comfy for bed.
"Why don't we shower together first and then go to bed?"
Haya suggested, a smirk replacing her smile as her husband's delight could be easily seen after her suggestion..
"And who am I to say no to my wife."
"Amir, you're too hot. Move a little." She said, deep in her sleep as she felt too constricted with his body literally over her and his mouth on her neck, breathing hot air into it.
When the Prince did not move, fast asleep himself..Haya groaned and opened her eyes..the room way too dark and the only source of light was the dimply lit lamp on the complete other end of the room.
"Amir, ugh."
She muttered, trying to pat his neck so he would simply move. Amir still didn't.
Haya had no choice but to press her nails against his bare back, earning a quick reaction as he winced and woke up.
"Ow! Haya!" He exclaimed, not moving completely but lifting himself up enough. She didn't feel his breath on her neck anymore.
"Why are you so warm? What the fuck?" She cursed groggily, touching his arm and actually feeling his warm body again.
Haya frowned in the darkness.
"Wait, you're really warm. Are you feeling okay?" She questioned, putting her hand against his forehead to check.
"Just tired. What's the time?"
Amir replied, even though his body ached a little bit and he knew he was coming down with fever. It always happened when he worked too much and didn't take proper sleep at the night.
"We shouldn't have switched off all the lights," Haya muttered, searching around for her phone first.
When she didn't find her phone, pressed the button on the side of the bed, which was connected to all the lights of the bedroom.
The room suddenly brightened, to the point where the Prince put a pillow on his face to stop the light.
Haya stared at the wall clock, gasping as she realised what time it was. Had they really slept straight for four hours? Why had no one woken them up?
"Um, Amir.." She nervously said his name.
"Hmm?"
"It's nine." Haya informed, he jolted up in surprise.
"What?!"
Haya bit her lip, not even bothering to tell him that she herself had received the call two hours ago and told the maid that they would be down to receive the guests soon.
After that, she had disconnected the line in deep sleep.
She literally felt like a zombie.
"Assalam alaykum."
The Crown Prince greeted in a loud voice, capturing the attention of everyone around the art room.
He noticed his brother Adil first, who was standing alongside Suhoor and Prince Illyas, saying something about the art piece placed in front of them. It was a very old piece of art, a lion head in painted gold.
On the other end of the room, he looked at Khalifah and Haya's cousin, standing at a corner with a book in his hand.
Amir moved to meet Illyas first, greeting him in traditional Maraaishi style.
"Illyas, I'm extremely sorry. I really have no excuse for being this late." Amir said, embarassed that he had not been punctual.
He did not remember the last time he had slept late like that. There was definitely something about Haya's closeness that made him think about nothing else.
"It's really fine, Amir." Illyas replied, but the Crown Prince shook his head again.
"No, it's not. I'm hosting you for dinner and I'm not the one present. I really apologise." He apologized once again.
Illyas didn't remember the last time he had seen someone look so apologetic for such a tiny thing. Amir really was a humble person, too humble to be with his large headed sister anyway.
"It's fine, Prince. We're family. I don't mind." He assured, giving a genuine smile and gesturing him to go and greet the others.
Amir only gave a nod to Adil and a smile to his sister.
"Do I need to apologise to you as well?" The Crown Prince asked, looking at his friend.
Khalifah faked a blank face and nodded.
"Yes, definitely. You practically drag me to Maraaish and then you are coped up with your wife leaving your guests to fend for themselves." He lectured, still giving him the blank face.
Amir opened his mouth to say something but then he heard the man chuckle and greet him with a hug.
"Relax, Amir. We're all adults here, alhamdullilah. This isn't a formal dinner, it's just friends getting together."
He put his friend at ease, walking towards Illyas and Adil.
"Exactly. Don't feel the need to be formal, Amir." Illyas affirmed as well, continuing when he looked around and did not see Haya.
"Atleast you managed to show up quick. Where's my baby sister?" He asked Amir, who was just about to greet his wife's cousin.
"She'll be here soon." He murmured, turning back.
He noticed the flustered expression on the woman's face.
"Assalamu alaykum, Aaliyah. How are you?"
He properly greeted her, giving a smile as he could see many similarities between Haya and her.
"Salam, I'm good thank you. I hope you're well?"
"Yes, alhamdullilah."
"I hope your stay is comfortable so far." He conversed, earning a nod from her.
Where was Haya? Didn't she say she would be ready in five minutes?
"It is." Aaliyah confirmed, not really knowing what else to talk about with the man.
She breathed a sigh of relief when Illyas called her name and she excused herself with a smile, her heels clicking the same way Haya's always did whenever she walked.
"Suhoor, come here." Amir motioned his sister towards him.
"Yes, brother?"
"Are you well? You look quite sick to me."
Her face was pale, eyes tired as if she hadn't slept and a soft smile on her smudged lips. She looked different, somewhat. Even the kohl she wore in her eyes looked blotted , as if she had cried.
Amir worried about her.
"I'm fine. Just a little sleepy but I'll be fine." She assured her brother, hoping that he would not ask too many questions.
"Sure? If something's bothering you-"
Before Amir could complete his sentence, he heard his wife's loud greeting and he squeezed Suhoor's shoulder, telling her that they would talk later.
"Hey everyone!"
His sister looked relieved that Haya had arrived at such a time. She walked towards Amir first, who was stood with Khalifah this time.
"Haya, this is Khalifah. He's a friend and a brother." He introduced the man to her.
Haya looked up at him and raised an eye, almost impressed. If she wasn't married to the man she loved with all of her heart, she would have looked at Khalifah with a very different eye.
"Salam, Haya. I hope you're well."
Haya could already see the respect in his eyes as he politely smiled at his friend's wife.
"I am. Amir tells me you've been in Oman for quite a while. How's the experience?"
Clearly, he was very fond of Oman because his face lit up the moment Haya asked the question.
"Oh, I just fell in love with that country." He exclaimed, Amir clasped a hand on his back.
"No, he just fell in love with someone in that country." Amir corrected, earning an eye roll from the man.
"And where's your wife?" Haya enquired, glancing at Aaliyah who was stood at a distance and staring at a wall art to feign being busy.
She knew nothing about art. She found it boring.
"She's still in Oman. I only came for a few days so I didn't feel the need to bring her." She heard the man say, Haya hummed.
"Well, whenever you visit the next time..do bring her." Haya murmured, earning an earnest nod as she called her bestfriend's name and she walked towards the group of three.
"Have you met Aaliyah? She's my cousin." Haya tried to introduce but clearly, they had met already.
"Yes, we just had a lovely conversation actually. She was arguing that Buredaan is better while being in Maraaish, I couldn't let it go."
Khalifah explained, Haya let out a laugh.
"Oh please let it go. You don't want to be Amir and Haya 2.0."
She joked, excusing herself and motioning her friend to come along because she clearly did not look happy.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Why's your face like that? All alarmed?" Haya asked her cousin, finding her a little too tight and unrelaxed.
"It's nothing,"
"Aaliyah, did someone say something to you? I'll fuck them up. Tell me."
Aaliyah groaned and shook her head.
"No, Haya. No one said anything."
"Sure, right? I don't want you being uncomfortable here."
She didn't want her cousin to feel uneasy and then decide that she wouldn't be visiting Haya to Maraaish again. She needed Aaliyah around.
"I'm not," She assured, rolling her eyes.
"Okay. I'm sorry I came late, I don't even know how Amir and I slept for that long."
She apologised, only because she knew Aaliyah didn't really know anyone around and she was the one who should have been around her the most. Instead, she had slept.
"It's fine, infact I think Illyas was glad you and Amir weren't downstairs." She murmured, throwing a glance at Illyas who was already shaking his head at the two girls.
He knew they were definitely gossiping about him.
"What do you mean?"
"So Suhoor and I were here first. Infact, since you or Amir weren't even there yet, she came to me and brought me here. I mean, that girl has manners. I don't know why you were so bitchy about her."
Aaliyah praised, Haya only nodded and motioned her to go on.
"Past shit."
"Anyway, once Illyas arrived..he was not alone. Adil was with him. He quite literally told me to distract Adil and he took Suhoor outside and they came back half an hour later."
Her eyebrows shot up. What the fuck was her brother even thinking? How the hell did no one say anything? Would the security tell Amir? Or the many workers who must have seen them too?
"Seriously? God."
"Yeah, I mean I don't want to talk to Adil. We weren't in a relationship or anything but we were still talking. How do you talk to someone everyday like you're so infatuated and then all of a sudden you tell her you slept with someone over the weekend? I didn't even want to talk to him!"
Aaliyah exclaimed, letting out her own frustrations.
"So that's why you looked so upset?" Haya questioned with a concerned gaze. She shook her head.
She didn't feel shit for Adil to be upset anyway.
"No, we're friends. It's fine. I never wanted anything to happen in the first place." She assured, continuing as the two walked towards the dining hall since it was time for dinner.
"And then Khalifah arrived. Fucking arabs and the way they smell. I hate it." She cursed, Haya raised her eye in utter surprise.
Usually, Aaliyah was more put together than this. What was even going on?
"You swore in a public gathering. Am I proud or what?" Haya chuckled, stopping her friend with a hold on her arm.
"That's why you are flustered? Because of that married man?"
"Yes, I know he's married! I went to get some fresh air outside and he came out for a smoke. I make casual conversation and he flashes his wedding ring at me."
Haya wanted to laugh out loud.
"Aaliyah, I don't know whether to laugh or cry." She said, not even bothering to hide the delighted look on her face.
"I wanted to give him the middle finger, wallah."
"I am so glad you're here!"
"Alright, so it's the ambassador of Germany, Adil and I, she is telling us all about how their investment within our oil company will benefit and all of that-"
Dinner had been pleasant and now, dessert outside in the garden was even better as Adil and Illyas went on to tell a recent story about a situation they had faced.
Haya was sat by her husband's side, with Aaliyah and Illyas in front of them. Adil and Khalifah were on the sofa where as Suhoor sat using her phone at the near end.
"Anyway, so she looks at Adil and then she looks at me. I swear, she quite literally said to us 'Would you be interested in a threesome?"
"We thought she was joking and trying to lighten up the mood but she was turned on. I look at Adil and he is completely unsure on what he should say,"
Everyone heard the story with interest, surprised that someone actually had the guts to talk like that during a professional meeting.
"So with a very straight face I just tell the lovely woman 'no'"
"And just like a switch, she goes back to working. Like she didn't say anything in the first place."
Illyas announced, still amused as he repeated the story, earning chuckles from everyone.
"Astaghfirullah."
Haya heard Amir say and she laughed.
"Tell them about the evening too!" Adil said out loud, but Haya saw her brother deny with a shake of his head.
"No, no. I don't think I should." His brother in law was right there in the room, there had to be some limit.
With Haya, they had both seem too much shit about each other for there to be any sort of barrior.
"Illyas, everyone is an adult here. Go on." Adil insisted, giving a look to his sister who was also a part of the conversation.
"Suhoor, I'm treating you like an adult so shut your mouth and don't tell anyone about the conversation that happens here." He warned, Suhoor quite literally turned her head to Amir instead.
"See, brother. This is the tone he uses on me."
"Adil, be nice." Amir murmured, feeling Haya lean in close to him.
"Okay so what happened in the evening then? I'm curious." Haya asked, waiting for her brother to speak up.
"In the evening, we went to this private lounge for drinks and we see her there as well. Since things could not work out between us, she had some high profile men by her side."
"I will not take names but people are into some weird things." He decided to censor the story, Haya clicked her tongue.
"a woman takes charge of her sexuality and asks for it and it's funny but when you men ask for the same things it's not funny at all. Quite hypocritical, brother."
She pointed out, Illyas rolled his eyes.
"We don't need your feminist angle everywhere, Haya. When we are working, we are very professional. We don't ask for sex while we're discussing business."
He shot back. Haya was about to fight back, even though her brother's answer was quite logical, she wasn't really the one to back down.
But then, Amir caught a hold of her hand and told her to not push it.
She leaned against the sofa again.
"It's not just the European people anyway. I have seen too many things, well all around the middle East." Khalifah stated.
"Aaliyah, remember when you were approached by that Royal from the UAE."
"He was into some weird shit too. Aaliyah was mortified. She kept saying what the fuck, what the fuck, the entire night."
Haya stated, remembering how Aaliyah had completely lost it. It was during the time they studied together in England. The particular Royal did not know that Aaliyah belonged to a Royal family as well.
Since his wife had cursed, Amir couldn't help but sigh and turn to look at her.
"Haya,"
"There is no synonym for what the F-"
She said, exasperated. Khalifah laughed out loud. He had faced this problem with Amir way too many times.
"You can always say what the fish in front of Amir." He suggested Haya, who didn't think she could ever use the words.
"I cannot say that with a straight face."
She joked, looking at Adil.
"so he is the only one who doesn't curse among you all hmm?"
"Yeah, you can say that."
"Amir is probably the most pious Prince I've ever met." Khalifah muttered, hearing the Crown Prince clear his throat.
"Because I am surrounded by idiots and I don't want to be known as one." He snapped.
"Ouch,"
Khalifah simply shook his head and stood up, excusing himself as he tended to a phone call.
Amir, being his friend teased him. The Crown Prince stated that his boss was sat right in front of him. Who else was so important that he had to leave a gathering like that?
"My wife. She's kind of the real boss, brother." Khalifah replied, picking up the phone call and excusing himself again.
Haya raised an eye at Amir, nodding.
"He's right, no?" She asked her man, who simply smiled.
He had this sudden urge to kiss her head but knew that he couldn't. There were people around and he wouldn't feel comfortable.
Instead, Amir put his focus on his sister who looked extremely tired.
"Suhoor, you can go back to the Palace if you're tired. It's late." He suggested.
Before his sister could even say a word, Adil stood up.
"Actually, I'll take her. I have to meet mother before she goes crazy on me again." He murmured, turning towards Illyas.
"One meeting with my father and you can go back tomorrow. I promise." He insisted.
Haya knew that Adil had been trying to pitch in a new idea to Illyas, but she didn't know that he was so desperate.
"Adil, look-"
"Come with me to the Palace. Just hear out my plan, finalise it with the King and then you can go.."
He insisted again, Illyas stood up and let out a sigh, showing his agreement.
Haya frowned.
"You'll stay at the Palace?"
As a woman, she could easily feel how relaxed Suhoor had suddenly got after hearing the news. She did not know what had transpired between the two tonight but something had definitely happened.
"Apparently. I had plans to leave after dinner."
Illyas replied, Haya nodded and hugged her brother as a means to bid him off for the night.
"I'll come see you off." She mumbled, finding Amir stand up as well.
"We'll be there for breakfast at the Palace tomorrow. You will definitely see him off." He told Haya.
She would have totally argued with him about not even asking her if she wanted to go or not but honestly, she was just relieved that she would get some more time with her brother tomorrow.
"I'll go back with you, Illyas. You'll go straight home, right?" Aaliyah asked, finding it better to simply go with Illyas instead of leaving Maraaish after a few days.
"I am. But have you got permission to leave from her highness?" Illyas replied, pointing towards Haya.
"No, she hasn't. And she is not going anywhere for now."
Haya declared, not even letting Aaliyah protest as she moved to air kiss both of Suhoor's cheeks, seeing her off.
"Suhoor, you know you're always welcome here as long as you behave."
Even though she had said it jokingly, Suhoor knew the meaning behind Haya's words. So did Illyas.
"Haya talking about behavior. Ironic." He commented, she gave him a sweet smile in return.
"I think you meant iconic, brother."
He simply rolled his eyes and shook the Crown Prince's hand, ready to leave.
As they were about to leave the garden, Khalifah arrived back with a confused frowned on his face.
"What's with everyone saying goodbye? I thought we'll have some Qahwa together."
He pondered out loud, Adil patted his shoulder with a chuckle.
"We're the scotch guys. He's the Qahwa guy." He pointed towards his brother.
"You know I don't mind a glass of scotch either, Adil." Khalifah murmured, reminding Adil of their partying days.
He let out a fond laugh.
"Will I be seeing you around? Don't tell me you're leaving for Oman soon." He asked instead.
"I am here for two more days. I'll be at the Palace tomorrow. The King invited for a meeting in the morning."
"We're all going to be there anyway."
"See you then, inshallah."
"Inshallah."
Suhoor left for the Palace in a separate car, where as Adil and Illyas sat in the same one.
On the other hand, Khalifah didn't feel the need to drink some Qahwa either.
"Amir, Haya. Thank you for the hospitality." He thanked them, but Haya frowned.
"I thought you were going to have some Qahwa with your friend." She stated, he simply shrugged.
"I think I'll leave the couple to spend some quality time together."
Haya smiled, holding Amir's hand.
"Although, I notice your friend doesn't seem to leave you."
He pointed towards Aaliyah with a small laugh, seeing how the woman seemed to flush under his gaze. He could easily detect that Aaliyah tried to cover her blush with a serious look on his face but he had been around for quite some time and knew that it was simply a facade.
"Well, best friends do come first."
"Best friend is kind of tired and would like to sleep now." Aaliyah joked back, staring at Haya.
Haya nodded, and before she could turn to look at Amir..he was already leaning in her ear.
"Why don't you make sure Aaliyah is well settled in the guest house and I'll take Khalifah to his suite."
"Yeah, of course."
Haya and Aaliyah sat in the back of the electric vehicle, one of the few which were used in the house. A minute or two later, they appeared in front of the guest house which was specifically built for family and friends.
"So Mr Married is going to stay here?" Haya heard Aaliyah ask with intrigue filled voice.
"I don't know. It's not like he's gonna be in the house." Haya replied, finding Aaliyah hum as they walked inside the two story cozy guest house.
It consisted of a sitting area and a tv room, with a bedroom upstairs along with another spare room.
Haya walked up with Aaliyah, finding her constant stare at the window. She knew she was looking at Khalifah, who was actually going to be in a similar guest house right opposite to Aaliyah's.
"You have to stop looking at him through the window. He's married." Haya said in a casual tone.
"I know, I'm just annoyed at him I swear."
"No, you're intrigued. Don't take that road, Aaliyah." She warned again, Aaliyah groaned.
"Of course, not. Would you chill? I'm all comfy here, go back to your man."
She playfully said, finding Haya nod as well.
"No hanky panky at the night. Close the blinds, don't look through the balcony,"
She said with a laugh as she walked back down.
"Fuck off, will you?"
Haya's loud laughter was all Aaliyah heard in response.
